Player valuations

I have a player who is valued at £2.1 million. I just offered him out at £500k and people are unwilling to make a offer because the price is too high. I don't really understand how that happens?

I believe that once they have worked out costs to cover his wage demands signing on fees etc, it is too much for them.

Offer him out over 36-48months at £2mil if he's wanted.
If you offer him out at £500k and no one is willing to pay that then maybe he is too old and past it?
