"Unavailable to play football due to personal reasons"

I have a centre-back (Valerica Gaman) who I signed at the beginning of my first season. He quickly became one of my best players but when I got into January I noticed he had a "Una" status. When I check his profile it just says "Unavailable to play football due to personal reasons until 30.06.2011". I thought, as this player is real and not a regen perhaps something happened to him in real life such as being arrested - but when I checked his wiki page it made no mention of anything like that, simply said that he got free-transferred around this time.

Does anybody have any idea why this has happened?

Yeah, some real-life thingy got him. The time away from football is set in the database. I don't know what happened to this particular player, it could be anything from a drug suspension to going back to school for a year.

Thanks for the prompty reply! Player has been nicknamed "Dr. Gonzo" in honour of his debaucherous/scholarly lifestyle.

Leaves me with quite the defensive quandry though as I'd just sold one centre-back and loaned out another.

But in my game he'd already moved clubs to my club (Norwich). Why would he run away from Norwich? We're a nice family club... Maybe he didn't like our lurid kit.

Or maybe he was scared off by Delia.
