    Default CSE Euro 2012 - Sign Up

    proudly presents:

    Welcome!
    It may be a bit later than the real thing but it is here, the CSE Euro 2012 using FM 2012.

    The last CSE Major tournament:
    http://community.sigames.com/showthr...rld-Cup-(OOTP)
    I haven't asked GCB to do this but he is inactive so took responsibility!

    As in the other thread:
    What I need from you:

    Regular forum visits over the coming days.
    Football Manager 2012 on your machine.
    A commitment to regular participation in the event - whichever country you end up managing!

    The Plan of Attack:

    As soon as I have 16/16 forum members ready to take part, I will randomly assign everybody a team from the Euros.

    I will then upload a FM12 save game somewhere.

    You will need to download it and choose a squad of 23 players for your country. This will be PM'd to me.

    I will enter 16/16 human managers on my FM12 game and select the appropriate squad of players.

    You will need to pick a starting eleven and tactics for the game.
    These can be standard FM tactics or your own which can be emailed to me at a later date.

    You will give me some instructions for substitutions and tactical changes.

    I will play the games and report via the forum.

    You can change your line-up and tactics for each game via PM.

    Eventually, we will crown a CSE Euros winning manager.

    I hope you're interested. If you're not completely sure how it's going to work, bear with it because it will work in the end as long as you can do the three things above. (Or read through the previous thread)

    SIGN-UP LIST:
    Don't copy and paste the list, I will keep track of who is in.

    Only 16 nations take part in the Euros. (4 groups of 4)

    Unless you plan to add another 16?

    This year yes, but the next Euro's will have 32 teams plus it allows more players to join in.

    EDIT- Will have 24 teams actually so I'll shut up.

    I took part in 2010, was a cracking game but sadly I can't commit to this one.

    So have you edited the DB to allow the extra 16 teams to enter the 2012 tournament?

    As people have pointed out I have made a horrible mistake, I knew there were only 16 teams competing but put 32 in opening post. No sorry, only the 16 teams from the current competition. I have got them into the finals on my game after a little tweaking!

    CSE UEFA Euro 2012

    The first country to be drawn are:

    CZECH-REPUBLIC

    Since their independence from Czechoslovakia, Czech Republic have never failed to qualify for the European Football Championships. In 1996, their first entry into the tournament, they achieved their best finish in the competition finishing 2nd. Can they replicate that this year?

    They will be managed by:

    nastymiller

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

    Country number two will be:

    ITALY

    This is a different Italy to the one we saw lift the world cup back in 2006. The old guard have left for the young guns to have a go. Can this Italy side really challenge for their second title?

    They will be managed by:

    marty78

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

    The third country out of the bag are:

    SPAIN

    The reigning European champions AND World cup holders, can Spain make it three major championships in three. With the lack of a real forward this year, it might not be as easy as planned.

    They will be managed by:

    toonbalmy87

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

    The next country to be drawn are:

    HOLLAND

    One trophy to their name, but a win has been a long time coming since 1988. Can they bring the trophy home this year?

    They will be managed by:

    Babaginoosh

    We’ll be back with four more soon!

    The next country to be decided will be:

    ENGLAND

    England have always been backed by their nation, not this year. Less is expected of the boys after recent tournaments. Hopefully they are still contenders.

    They will be managed by:

    Tactic Master

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

    The next country out of the bag are:

    DENMARK

    Not the first team you would put your money on, but that is what Denmark have to their advantage and they used this in 1992, Will they win it again?

    They will be managed by:

    William Hall

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

    The next country to be drawn are:

    RUSSIA

    Since splitting from the Soviet Union Russia have never really impressed. With a 3rd place in 2008 they might consider themselves on the rise. Many of their players are now at big clubs so their is definitely potential.

    They will be managed by:

    Shadaza

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

    The next country to be drawn are:

    CROATIA

    Croatia's best results were quarter final finishes in 1996 on their debut and 2008. After an unsuccessful bid to host this tournament they will hope to seek vengeance.

    They will be managed by:

    Lower League Rule

    Weĺll be back with four more soon!

    The next country to be decided will be:

    IRELAND

    After the injustice of being knocked out by France in qualifying for the 2010 World cup, they are back. In only their second appearance at this tournament they still look like major outsiders. But this is football remember!

    They will be managed by:

    18Rabbit

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

    The next country out of the bag are:

    PORTUGAL

    Every qualification has led them to a knock out round, but never a win. Can the arguably greatest player in the world Cristiano Ronaldo help them out this year?

    They will be managed by:

    5ergio

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

    The next country to be drawn are:

    GERMANY

    Most people call them the favorites, but nothing is certain. With a strong side, many playing for Champions League finalist Bayern Munich they look deadly from anywhere. Perhaps with a weak spot in defense will Germany triumph or fall like their representative team in the Champions League.

    They will be managed by:

    ri916

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

    The next country to be drawn are:

    SWEDEN

    Best finish of 4th place when they hosted the tournament, do they have success flat packed and ready to assemble?

    They will be managed by:

    jimbowmanuk

    We’ll be back with four more soon!

    The next country to be decided will be:

    POLAND

    Host nation number 1, debuted last time round not really impressing, will things change on home turf?

    They will be managed by:

    brettney1980

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

    The next country out of the bag are:

    UKRAINE

    Well, host nation debutante. Can they be given a fair chance?

    They will be managed by:

    as260191

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

    The next country to be drawn are:

    GREECE

    The last country to cause a major upset at a major tournament. In 2004 they lifted the trophy, is it feasible it could happen again?
    They will be managed by:

    kris0710

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

    The last country to be drawn are:

    FRANCE

    Oh France! Stong footballing background and host twice with a third time in 4 years. They have also won this competition twice and rarely fail to impress at major events, unless you count South Africa. With all the trouble in the dressing room, can they really mount a challenge?

    They will be managed by:

    TheGreatTraveler

    That's it! Please feel free to talk about the team selection and make predictions.

    YOU HAVE UNTIL SUNDAY 00:01 BST TO SEND ME YOUR TACTIC OR A DEFAULT WILL BE USED TO BLEND YOUR SQUAD

    With the likes of Arshavin and Zhirkov I am hoping to boss the midfield. Defence is a little bit more of a concern for Russia but really a solid all round team. Bring it on!

    It will be a large file guys, I selected all players from Europe... 40.29MB I'm sorry if this is too large, I just wanted to be sure we got every player possible!

    Date wise, this is straight after the playoffs so it will allow more room for blending. Down side is you don't know your available players BUT here is my schedule:

    SUNDAY/MONDAY: New thread, upload new save at date of player registration.
    TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY: Deadline for player registration.
    THURSDAY/FRIDAY: Deadline for 1st match team

    And so on. At each interval I will allow update of tactics too.

    ALSO. When sending me a tactic can you also specify:
    -The staff you want (Or keep them, bear in mind if you get rejected you will be without a member of staff up until deadline 2)
    - Match prep (1 Type only)
    - Friendlies to organise (No teams that compete unless both can agree on a date!)

    HERE IS SAID FILE. DOWNLOAD NOW!

    Against my better judgement I am going to try and make Ballotelli work in the side. FM treats him harshly.

    Tactic Master Good luck playing your tika-taka style with England. You obviously didn't watch the Italy match (or any other for that matter)

    So...... anyone want to take on Holland in a friendly?

    Team is plagued by injuries, van Bommel, Robben, VDV, van der Wiel all down

    So do we just choose our tactic now, and not the squad? Also, I'm a bit confised about Germany and those 'issues we cant discuss here'.....

    Struggling between choosing the best players in game vs the ones who have actually done well in tournament. Namely Ballotelli and Cassano. May have to leave Ballotelli out as his match ratings for Man City were poor and he was shipped on loan to FC Porto and because of his personality would perhaps be more of a hindrance than an asset unfortunately.

    I usually use shouts/tactical changes depending on how things are going so really not sure how I'm going to set up my tactic as of yet.

    I am also looking for friendlies for Portugal if anyone is up for it. The latest date you can ask for a friendly is 2th June as I'd like to have my team rest the last 10 days.

    My tactic should be up in the day after I have seen how they adapt.

    5ergio, how about a friendly vs Russia?

    Any date will do but I would prefer a late May fixture.

    I really have no clue how to play Holland, they look tremendous offensively but so dreadful defensively except for the GK. This is going to be a challenge

    So, let me get this right - we now need to send you a list of the players we want in our finals squad, along with tactics.

    Just remind me how many players need picking for the squad in total, and 3 of these need to be keepers right.

    Cheers.

    You need to send Stothy your tactic first so he can use team blend and then when team registration is required he will upload a new save so we know who is available. We have until 00:01 on Sunday to submit our tactics or defaults will be used. He explains at the bottom of the teams lists post.

    There is very little in the way of young talent in Russia. I wouldn't be surprised If I end up with the oldest squad. But hey I only need to use them for one tournament. Gonna thrash 'em like a company hire car.

    Kk guys! I'll accept the both friendly requests from England & Russia. Late May match with Russia, one week before that England if it's ok with you? It'll be best if stothy picks the date I suggest as I want my team to rest the last 10 days to EUROs that's for sure!

    After I sent my tactic I ran with Italy through the Euro's and got to the final (holidaying games) where I was hammered 4-0 by France. I am playing Ballotelli regardless of his attitude though and he missed 3 CCC in the final. Don't worry though Mario, I will keep the faith.

    Babingoosh Send your .tac file attached to an e-mail to stothy at this address - jakestothard@hotmail.co.uk. Or your could upload your .tac file to a file upload site and send stothy the link in a PM.

    Stothy, any chance I could change my tactic that I sent you please? It's more or less the same but i've found it brings much better results, including a 5 - 0 win over Spain

    Yeah, exactly this. Around Feb, lots of dates pop up for friendlies. I'm guessing the calender refreshes itself after new year.

    Just holidayed my Russian tactics through the Euros. Got to the final where I was beaten by France 2-1 with a Benzema 90th minute goal.

    Still, If I beat Italy 6-1 in the actual contest I will be chuffed as punch!

    There's only one difference for us, we have to play against a proper tactic and a human person Same here though, if I beat Spain 5 - 0 i'd be over the moon
