National coach Luc Holtz is understandably delighted to have his time in charge coincide with what looks to be Luxembourg's very own Golden Generation. In downtown Luxembourg, the murmurs can be heard among the youngsters feasting on their Thüringers: Luxembourg could qualify for an international competition! A Luxembourger may soon play in the Champions League final!

In June 2011, the talented youngsters will join the ranks of England’s League 1. All twenty-SIX are raring to go. All want to captain their country to international honors. Rules:

Key to the nature of this challenge is the fact that, unless you are one of the privileged few, you do not get to see your attribute profile. Aside from the initial x3 20 point attributes, the others will be randomly generated between 1-19. But why, I hear you ask? Because the element of mystery will make the attempt to rise to the top all the more compelling, that’s why! But how can a player with only 145 PA be a potential world-beater, you ask next? Here is where I hope things get even more interesting.

After every three month period, I will post detailed updates on the progress of our Luxembourger , both at club and international level. The player I deem to have performed the most impressively over a given period wins the Luxembourger of the Quarter Award. The choice of winner will be carefully justified each time, based on level of competition, average rating, club success, and indeed, a whole plethora of factors. The winner of this award wins the right to a fabulous prize, being one from the following:

1. Add 5 points to their CA

2. Add 5 points to their PA

3. Add 3 attribute points (1 per category, chosen at random if category chosen is already at 20)

4. Add 15 to reputation (increasing the chance of a big club move)

OR, if you would prefer, you may want to damage your fellow players in your quest for individual glory (e.g. if you are the second-choice national keeper), and choose to

5. Take 5 CA points from a fellow Luxembourger

6. Take 5 PA points from a fellow Luxembourger

7. Take 3 attribute points from a fellow Luxembourger (chosen at random)

Last minute adjustment: A player cannot win the Luxembourger of the Quarter Award more than twice in a season.

At the end of each June, the Luxembourger of the Year Award is chosen at a glitzy awards ceremony. The top three performers of the past season for club and country are chosen, and win the right to the following:

First placed:

Gets to view attribute profile and add three attribute points as they see fit

Gets 15 points added to their reputation, 5 points to CA, and 5 points to PA

Second placed:

Gets 10 points added to their reputation, 4 points to CA, and 4 points to PA

Third placed:

Gets 5 points added to their reputation, 3 points to CA, and 3 points to PA

It is time to take the first of our regular looks at how our young countrymen are performing abroad. These teenagers have had to adapt to a completely alien foreign climate With one player getting a Full International call up.

Benjamin Gossard well he hasn't had a bad start of a season for Notts County with only 1 foul committed in 4 games shows that he precise tackling and will not make any rash tackles so notts county can depend on him . he picked up an injury which ruled him out for 6 weeks

Han San Geni playing ok for Exeter but another one who has been injured for a month he will be hoping he wont get many more injurys

Des Schicksa playing well for Oldham Athletic scoring 2 goals in 4 games with these performances Everton and Genoa are monitoring him

Andre Muller playing well for Walsall 3 assists in 4 games so he is Walsalls playmaker but seems to be injury prone missing total of 7 weeks

Omar Holtz is the biggest surprise so far for Charlton starting 7 games with 1 assist but if he wants to be a starting 11 player then he will have to get more assists and goals

David Ginsberg currently has not played for Bury

Jan Brosius starting goalkeeper for Scunthorpe but need to keep more clean sheets and keep his mouth shut in all competitions he has been booked 3 times

Yann Diederich hasnt started for Leyton Orient but he has missed 4 months of football so this could of hindered his chances of getting a starting place

Yannick Schleck playing well for Bournemouth with 1 assist and pass %79 he seems to be a holding midfielder but would like to see an improvement on his passing distribution

Louis de Crevecoeur has 1 goal 1 assist for MK Dons curently injured for MK Dons for 2 months torn hamstring

Jaques Le Roy hasnt started as much as he would of liked but has played well for Hartlepool when he was given the chance. Wanted by Genoa

Roger Federer hasn't started much for Rochdale But with 2 international caps and an assist for his country i reckon this has been a good 3 months for him seems to player better for his country than he does for his club

Cristiano Reynaldo not having a good start at Brentford needs to score goals

Yan Kieffer playing ok for Yeovil but needs more assists with only 1 to his name

Jan Handelen not getting much game time for Stevenage has been injured for 5 weeks in September so could be just getting back to full fitness

Costel Brabarius starting goalkeeper for Carlisle needs to keep more clean sheets but conceded the least out of the 3 luxembourg goalies, currently uncapped at any level for Luxembourg

Guillame Antoine Huddersfield Rhodes left and so far Antoine has not been able to fill the void he has left he needs to score goals if he is to be picked by his manager

Antonio Karim playing well for Colchester starting 6 games in the league and 3 games in the cup

Jean Benoît Guillaume d'Aviano starting goalie for Shef Wed but same as the others needs to concede less goals suprising that sheff wed are 17th in the division

Heinrich Boneburger hasnt started much but has been giving good performances for Tranmere

Maximus Scheltzer is playing well for Chesterfield starting 7 games and avg rating of 6.71

Adelbert Steiner currently not playing well for Wycombe 7 games 6.30 avg

Luc De Bonde-Arnaud playing well for PNE and picking up an assist in a cup game

Nico Ecke playing really well for Sheff Utd got 2 assits and a 6.95 avg

Alex D'Ecker playing well for Bournemouth 1 goal 1 assist and 6.87avg

The Final player Marc Scutto is playing well for Chesterfield it helps that the other starting CB is also from Luxembourg hopefully there partnership will continue to get better

Luxembourger of the Quarter Award is Roger Federer

I'm hoping my guy will be the star in a bad club at bottom of the table Yeovil. At least I am playing internationally for the U21's regularly, needs a good quarter now though.

okay... not even a game for yann diedrich yet, sad too see such a talent go to waste. Leyton Orient doing pretty well in the league at least. Toon, was it an injury that made him miss 4 months? or do u just mean the fact he wasn't picked for 4 months?

Good to see Yann Kieffer get a goal at U21 level internationally, even if he is a winger heading home corners...

Hopefully he starts to play more for Yeovil soon, who have a massive -39 goal difference and obviously don't need him :(
