12.2.2 Youth team not using 1st team tactics when asked to. Have you experienced this?

This just occurred in my current save. I re-joined a previous club and now my youth team never uses my 1st team tactic even though I've ticked 'use 1st team tactics'. Youth team always plays a 442, which isn't even my youth team coach's preferred formation. My reserve team adopts the 1st team tactics, as do my youth candidates during the intake game. Anyone else experience this?
