Managing a national side - newbie question

Hi friendly FM folks,

I started unemployed and got offered the job of managing the Wales U-19 squad within a couple of days, so I accepted. The thing is, I really didn't plan to go in for national management, so I figured having a database with just the complete British Isles would be enough. I know it should be obvious, but if I'm going to stick with this, do I have to add more countries so that I can play against them? If the answer is "yes", do I have to add them as playable? Are there countries that would be good choices as additions?

I know the fact that I have to ask this shows that I'm not ready for the challenge, but I feel kind of obliged to give it a go, at least.

Apologies if this has been asked thousands of times, but I couldn't refine the search enough to see whether there was a thread on this subject.

No, you don't have to add more countries to be able to play against them. But most nations will have fake (grey) players if you haven't loaded much players.

Thanks! I've added a few more and will see how it goes, but it's a relief to know that I can play against nations not in the database.

Watch out though. If you add too many leagues your game could very well be crippled by insane amounts of regens.
