Siyanda Xulu - £750,000
Erik Lamela - Loan
Nils Peterson - Loan
these 3 players will help take this club out of the relegation zone
Wigan Signings
A quiet January for Wigan with the only transfer being defender Miles Addison from Derby for an undisclosed fee.
Manchester City chairman Kristof Lazarevic was asked some questions today about his clubs lack of movement during the transfer window
When asked about the heavy Investment that the fans and media have seen over the past few tranfer windows and the apparent lack of movement during the winter window Chairman Lazarevic replied " with the upcoming financial regulations that are being imposed by Uefa we dont think it pruden to spend large sums of money to bring players in, although we spent heavily in the summer window every player that we brought in has a long and bright career ahead of them" on the transfer of Emmanuel Adebayor to Liverpool FC for only 7 Million pounds he was responded " after having many conversations with Roberto we decided that due to the player not having played very many games that if there was an oppertunity to move him along that we must do so, as we already have allot of first class strikers available and the Italian starlet Mario balloteli on loan to Tottenham for the season we sure this move as beneficial to all parties concerned"
When asked about the early exits from the League Cup, FA Cup and the Champions League and being four points behind Spurs with Spurs having a game in hand he said "without any other fronts to battle on the expectaion is that Manchester City win the League, no if's and's or but's, Roberto knows that if this is not fullfiled then the board will evaluate his position at seasons end"

Arsenal Explain Quite Transfer Window
Arsenal said that they would do no business and they were basically correct apart from Andy Carroll joining Stoke on loan. Arsenal have said that this is due to the fact money is tight and that other clubs are wanting way too much for their players. "The values that some clubs are placing on their players is ridiculous. We did not need to spend stupid money on players that were over priced. We stayed calm and trusted our current squad."
On Andy Carroll leaving they said he needed first team experience with Wenger not thinking he was ready for first team action just yet. So when Stoke came in with an offer they accepted.
Ok guys, this is still going, I'm just having a few computer problems right now. My motherboard is, to put it bluntly, ****ed, and I'm having to replace it. Will hopefully be done tomorrow but at worst it will be Saturday and then I can start updating this again.
Cheers buddy. I was thinking you were enjoying leaving us hanging on![]()
Mack, could you sort out your messages please, need to PM you![]()

Week 19
FA Cup:
3rd Round
Game of the Week
This was a fairly weak Chelsea side but you would have still expected them to walk it with players like Ganso, Torres, Sturridge and Ivanovic all starting the game, however once again while they were dangerous going forwards their defence parted like the red sea every time they were put under any pressure. In a normal year this would be an annoying loss, nothing more, but with their season going as poorly as it currently is this is just one more failure in an ever growing list that could well be the end of a 2nd manager in a single season.
Lovely to have you back Mack!
And a 3rd round win for Stoke!!! Some tough results for others though.![]()
Meh, was hoping for a decent cup run, having to face Arsenal put an end to that thought...only going down 1 - 0 is not bad though
Time to focus on premier league survival for the mighty Wigan!
And I agree, great to have you back!
New Request
This will be getting going properly again very soon, a combination of computer problems and work has kept me away from this for a little while.
In the mean time, I want everybody who is signed up for this and still reading the thread to post up to confirm that they are still taking part.
Anybody that doesn't post in this thread to confirm that they are still active by 2200GMT on April 20th will be removed from the game and their team offered up to new players.
Thanks.
Good to see ya back in action Mack, shame to hear bout te pc quitting on ya! Can't wait to get going again!!
Was hoping for a good run in the cup. Oh well, time to push on towards that magic 40 points mark in the league.
Nice comfortable win in the FA Cup :-) would rather win the league though
Embarrassing defeat at home against Portsmouth in the cup![]()
Still alive and still playing
Disappointing draw with aston villa
Yep I am still going to carry on with Arsenal.
Good win at Wigan.
definetely going to carry on!! :P
Week 20
League Cup Semi Finals - Leg 1:
Sunderland vs. Arsenal
West Brom vs. Fulham
Premiership:

Game of the Week
Both Wolves and Stoke are looking fairly safe, sitting mid table and both with a real chance of a top 8 finish, and both sides really went for it from the first whistle and both sides had plenty of chances. I think that Wolves will feel unlucky to have lost though, they had the best chances but gave the ball away too easily and were punished for it. Good news for Stoke fans though, the height of Crouch and Carroll already seems to be working well, now we'll see how teams cope against almost 13 foot of striker!
League Table
Get in boys! A couple of little forwards doing the damage. Its a nice start to loanee Carroll's Stoke move.
Are you watching Wenger???
Im still carrying on mate, Good win in the First Leg of carling cup![]()
I'll be carrying on, hoping to keep the mighty Wigan in the league!
Adebayor with a goal. F*** Yeah![]()
Please to have my first match as game of the week, but disappointed with the loss. still top have though![]()
Losing 1-4 at HOME to Sunderland is so terrible! Mr Hughes Denchman Bizzle is seriously considering plunging the club into debt
Another loss, keeping up isn't looking so good :L
NINE Points clear now :-D
Yes Finally of the bottom the Villa boys will do it. Come on the Villians
I am still playing for the red devils![]()
Disappointing loss to Sunderland in the league cup. Really hope we can pull that one back.
Also nice to see Andy Carroll scoring. Come on Wenger, he is good enough for the first team when you get him back lol.
still love chelsea

Both Swansea & Man City are desperate for points but for completely different reasons. Swansea need points to stand any chance of staying up while City can't afford to drop any further behind Tottenham at the top of the table, however on paper you would have to expect City to walk all over Swansea here but boy was that wrong. The Swansea players must now know that they have to start picking up points to drag themselves out of the relegation zone and threw everything they had at City and they just couldn't cope. What makes this win even more impressive is that this wasn't even anywhere near a full strength Swansea side, with players like Federio Bessone, Daley Blind, Mark Gower, Andrea Orlandi and Kemy Agustien all starting. All they need to do now is perform like this till the end of the season and they will easily be safe.
League Table
Week 22
League Cup Semi Finals - Leg 2:
Sunderland vs. Arsenal
West Brom vs. Fulham
So no surprises between Fulham and West Brom, Fulham had the lead going into their home leg and made no mistakes in finishing off the tie. The other game however was completely different. Despite the fact that Sunderland went into the game with a 2 goal lead I still expected Arsenal to overcome that to secure their place in the final, especially given that they were playing with an almost full strength side, but once again Sunderland showed they are no pushover and despite spending much of the game on the back foot they opened up the Arsenal defence far too easily on several occasions to give them a good chance of taking home some silverware this season.
FA Cup 4th Round:
Results
Poor defeat at home to Wigan but nice to avoid an upset by winnig 4-0 at Aldershot. Would not complain at a run to the final of the Cup..
Nice shock at Old Trafford too.![]()
FreckFreckFreck!!! back to bottom arghhh![]()
Disappointed with the defeat in the league cup. Really had a great chance of winning that trophy.
2 solid league results which is pleasing. Into the next round of the FA Cup which is also pleasing![]()
unacceptable performance from klinsman squad...very disappointed

A dip in form over the past few weeks.

Game of the Week 1 - Game of the Week 2 - Game of the Week 3
First up we have Spurs against Stoke. After drawing 3 points further ahead of Man City last week I expected Spurs to push on and pick up the win here today but they seriously underestimated Stoke who took their chances brilliantly to record a great win.
Second game I have chosen is Man City hosting Chelsea. The Man City squad must know that to keep their hopes of the title alive they had to win here but with Chelsea in their way it was never going to be easy, even with Chelsea underperforming at the moment, however it wasn't to be their day. They were arguably the best team but they failed to take their chances and never recovered from Chelseas two early goals. This result along with their other game this week now sees them drop back to 3rd in the table, 8 points behind Tottenham, and surely slipping out of the title race.
Last but not least is Swansea, away to Fulham. Fulham are in with a real chance of finishing in the European places this year, are still in the EURO Cup and have made it to the League Cup Final. Swansea on the other hand are sat in the relegation zone and have nothing to aim for except for survival, although after their great victory over Man City last week they went into this game full of confidence and it showed. It was a fairly even game despite the result, both teams had plenty of chances and the game was heading for a draw until Andy Johnson banged in a brace in the final 10 minutes to give him 3 goals in 3 league starts for Swansea so far. So, 6 points from two very tricky games and these performances must be giving the Swans fans real hope that they can do enough to remain in the Premiership for next season.
League Table
FFS SPURS!! 0-4!! Against stoke is terrible! Oh well would have liked to see a win at home to Liverpool aswell! 4 points well and truly dropped and with Utd breathing down our necks! Only 5 points ahead now should have been 9! Big moment I reckon In the season that week :-(
I expect some nice alcoholic presents from the chasing teams at the top. But then we get done by QPR. generally happy at Stoke though.
Seem to have had a bit of a turn up in form now, Andy Johnson doing the business for me
Tottenham 0 - 4 Stoke
*just in case anyone missed it - hightlight of my season i expect
*this is not meant to cause offence
The title race is on, only 5 points away and with the game between us and spurs still to come, it should be an exciting finish.
However, losing to Fulham is dissapointing, but more so is crashing out of the FA Cup with a 4-0 defeat to Watford.
Loosing to Chelsea has I think done our hopes of snatching the title, 8 points behind...will need some seriously good performances to overturn that!!!

Game of the Week
Tottenham need to bounce back quickly after their draw against Liverpool last week and their hammering by Stoke the week before, and against Blackburn you would have to fancy them to do just that. Blackburn are in the relegation zone and in big trouble, not having won in the league since the middle of December, but here they made good use of the home advantage to overcome a Spurs side that is lacking confidence at the moment. Blackburn took an early lead and despite Spurs best efforts there was nothing they could do to get past Given and Hanley in the middle of the Blackburn defence. A great win for Blackburn which sees them move level with 17th placed Bolton on points and only 3 points behind 12th place. Spurs on the other hand have had their lead reduced to 2 points by Man Utd although both Man City and Liverpool are less than 7 points adrift now, they really need to find some way of turning their current run around or they will run the real risk of throwing the title away.
League Table
Great win![]()
Sack the Tottenham manager.
Drawing (most draws in the league) ourselves away from the relagation battle
Only 5 points behind now, good turn around so far, if only we hadnt drawn as many games
Not happy with the last 3 results, although still in 12th, only 3 points clear of relegation, gotta start winning again!!!
Only 2 points away now, and Modric finnally in the scoresheet. Utd., here we go!
Not good enough again from Arsenal. Should be winning games against teams like QPR
My Target was top four so were 13 points ahead of our target so I can't be displeased! I'd be happy with 3rd or 2nd to be honest! But obviously we've let Utd and Citeh into the fold through bad performances! Modric has defo made a difference for sure!

Champions League 1st Knockout Round Leg 1:

League Cup Final:
Fulham vs Sunderland

Game of the Week
Potentially one of Tottenham's biggest games of the season here. Man Utd have closed the gap at the top to only 2 points and with a win here today would take the lead away from Spurs, and that was obviously enough of an incentive and they trampled all over Tottenham for 90 minutes. Spurs never really got going and just didn't have an answer to a Man Utd team that is on a great run of form. This loss now sees them fall a point behind United and with Liverpool and Man City both not far behind, if they don't turn this run around then what looked like a season where they could win the league could end up with them missing out on Champions League football yet again.
League Table
Will you be showing the transfers from January
Poor defeat in cup to Ipswich but lovely win over Norwich. Nice to see Carroll on target again.
Well done to our first cup winners too!! (look how that worked out Mack)
Title race getting exciting too, looked over back in November.
ffs still bottom![]()
Ba-baam!!
And to think we where 11 points behind in November, now in first. Now, we need to keep first place, and not let Spurs catch up to us.
In the CL, Berbatov's away goal could end up being important, as long as we win in Old Trafford.
Come on Wigan, need to start picking up some points!
On a side note, start playing properly Tottenham, don't let Man U win the league!!
Okay so we draw at home to QPR but then beat Real Madrid. Answers on a postcard please :P
Still good progress in the cups which is good![]()
Looks like Villa is going down![]()
Haha, sorry Mack, one of your own players scoring the winner against you![]()
Week 27
Euro Cup 1st Knockout Round Leg 2:
Tottenham
Fulham
Man City
So, we lost Stoke in the group stages and now we've lost Fulham too. Still, two teams left so there is a chance that we could still see an English side winning this competition. In the next round Tottenham have been drawn against Napoli, who knocked out Birmingham in this round, and Man City are playing Sevilla.
Premiership:

Game of the Week 1 - Game of the Week 2
First up is Swansea away against Wolves. Swansea picked up a good win over Sunderland last week and played absolutely brilliantly in this game. They passed the ball well, made it very difficult for Wolves to get the ball off them, and made good use of it when they had a chance. These 3 points pulls Swansea out of the relegation zone for the first time this season and their fans must be praying that they can stay out of it now.
Next we have the new league leaders, Man Utd, travelling to bottom placed Aston Villa. On paper this should be a walkover for United, but you should never bet against Aston Villa because despite their poor season they still have some serious quality in their side and they showed it here. Despite falling behind early, Villa kept pushing and for large portions of the game they had United on the back foot, and they were rewarded with a vital 3 points.

Oh yeah beat manure you may say thank you spurs chairman haha another 3 points and we are out of the relegation zone
Noooooo! Into the bottom 3![]()
Yyyeeeesssssss back on top! Thanks toon haha massive win over fulham to get back into the swing of things!
Get in Stoke. Great win at Everton. Not far off a European spot!
FFS cant catch a break at the moment, way to many draws for title challenges!!
I think someone has forgotten something....
Week 28
Champions League 1st Knockout Round Leg 2:
Arsenal
Man Utd
So that's two English teams through to the quarter finals then, although it was very lucky for one of them. United put in a great performance to overcome their first leg defecit, while Arsenal had the win handed to them by Real Madrid. If it wasn't for the fact that Madrid had two red cards I can't see any way that Arsenal could have walked away from this game with a draw. They will need to start playing better from now on to stand any chance of getting much further though.
Euro Cup 2nd Knockout Round Leg 1:
Man City
Tottenham
Two completely different results for our sides here. Man City put in a fantastic 90 minutes to more or less guarantee that htey will make it through this round while Tottenham put in a good defensive effort, combined with Neymar being on good form, to grab a couple of away goals which could prove vital in the return leg.

Game of the Week 1 - Game of the Week 2
My first choice this week was Wolves against Wigan. Wolves look pretty safe but could probably do with another 5 or 6 points to absolutely guarantee safety, and Wigan looked pretty secure in mid-table until a few weeks ago but have recently dropped down into the relegation zone and so need to take the points from games like this to ensure their survival, however their current lack of form continued here. They created several good chances but failed to take them and also allowed Wolves far too much of the ball and were punished as a result.
Next we have Swansea against West Brom. Swansea recently moved out of the relegation zone for the first time this season, are in pretty good form and high on confidence, while West Brom are just plodding along, not looking that good, but always doing just enough to stay out of the relegation zone, but a win for either side here would make their life much more comfortable in the coming weeks. Swansea though are in great form right now and never gave West Brom a chance. They passed the ball well, kept it well and carved the West Brom defence open at will. If they can keep playing like this then I think they will easily be safe by the end of the season.
League Table
Chairmen Still Needed For:
Due to inactivity the following clubs are now available:
Bolton
Newcastle
Norwich
West Brom
I also want a few people to put their names down to take over the newly promoted clubs for next season.
If you are interested then please give the rules a read, have a quick glance through the thread to see what is happening, and then PM me with your team choice.
10th in the league and the best win of our season to date! 2-1 win at Old Trafford!!! Get in. Zamora and Cisse are banging in the goals. They score basically every game
Oh great, finnally first, and then you lose against Villa and QPR to give totenham their 5 point lead back. Just great.
However, glad we are through in the CL.
Get in out of the relegation zone wahoooo come on the villains
Ulucky in defeat to Man City but very happy with 11th place and 10 clear of the drop. Carroll on target again too.
Cheers villa cheers QPR (not for yesterday :-'() rollercoaster ride so far!
