Player wants to stay but agent won't enter contract talks..... (help!)
It's 2016 and a 22 year old integral midfielder that I have had since the start of the game has one month left on his contract. He has developed massively through the ranks and has just won his first Turkish cap at Euro2016. I once tried to negotiate a new contract but the agent was far too demanding and 'grew tired of talks'. Since then I have never been able to try contract talks again. The player is a personal favourite, given that he played in my U18's at the start of the game and I don't want to let him go! Interestingly the player was 'concerned' himself, and in private chat expressed his opinion that I was trying to force him out of the club and he wanted to stay. Naturally I apologized and said that he could stay at the club and he left happy. However I still can't begin contract talks as the agent says that his client isn't interested in negotiations with my club!!!
I'm sure that this has happened to someone before, didn't know if there was anyway around it? Thanks in advance.
