Its part of allowing people to have more control over their formations that they can make players do silly things ...

(the main thing is they should try and behave as sanely as possible ... well as possible as a sweeper placed on the far left/right would irl ...)

I think it may be a homage to CM 01/02 as well, I recall a cult formation for that game that involved using an SWL...
