We marginally out played them, 1-0 at half-time, they had a player sent off in the 69th minute.

wow, actually Besiktas is a good team and i certainly didn't see you getting a single point from that group. Amazing job, or a poor manager at Besiktas. Still, i think it's you haha, you've done so well. I wish to see you to make it to the next stage either inc CL or Europa League

Avoid defeat against Besiktas and you probably will.

Looks as though Besiktas only just lost in tight 1-0 games against Sevilla and Roma though, need to hope that they don't manage to pull off a result in either of those return fixtures. Looks as though theyy'll have the benefit of better goal difference heading into the last game.

Is your match against Besiktas the final round in the group? Could all come down to that last game!

    Best of luck!!

Incredible career Makoto! Can I request that your next career save - possibly in FM13 - is in Oceania?

Sure you can request it, but don't the Oceanic nations haver a reputation cap? atleast that's what I've heard.

Also, U.S.A are the World Cup hosts...

    National Team Fixtures:

Domestically we now don't have a game for a month but we hold the top of the Group, internationally it's been amazing! we have a Pre-World Cup friendly against Carolina RailHawks from the American Second Division.

2 games against Cailungo, a 4-4 draw and a 2-0 win, gives us breathing space now.

Not really, no, I've signed 40 year old Franseco Alonzi 17 JPA, 15 JPP.

He actually played for me and came in through the Youth System in the 2nd season with Raoul Belmonte:

He stayed with San Giovanni from 2013-2015, followed by 3 seasons at Domagnano, 1 season at La Fiorita and 13 seasons at Pennarossa.

solid left back. I'd train his physicals, like pace and strength untill he's 18 and then focus on his marking and tackling

    San Giovanni - Campionato Sammarinese - 2037/38

    League Table
    League Positions Graph
    Domestic Fixtures

Our strikers keep scoring...but most of the time we seem unable to keep a clean sheet.

Coppa Titano - Beat Cailungo 4-2 in the Final, but the best game was the Semi-Final with Nicolas scoring 4 goals.

European Champions Cup - We managed to win a game! In the end we still finished bottom, but it is an improvement!

    Squad - No changes.

Finances - £29,000,000 in the finances and we're re-upgrading the Youth Facilities...along with most clubs in the league.

    Youth At the Club:

    Angelo Perra (YP13)

Fantastic performance - looks as though you gave Columbia are really good game as well

    A great opportunity against Japan

EDIT: You beat me to it - a stunning performance - might be a bit harder to progress against Italy though ;) You'll fly up the rankings after this!

Thanks Paul, Colombia were ranked 3rd, Algeria 26th, U.S.A 49th & Japan 58th, don't see myself getting past Italy though ;)

    Also some San Giovanni news:

I didn't ask for it, I just got it through the inbox...we've also been drawn as the highest seeded side against FK Austria Wien, 20 years ago we went against them and lost 10-1 agg

Bit of an early age to retire. Amazing how a CM with such bad passing has made it so far!

I thought it was weird too, retiring early and the awful passing, he was also the "Top" Sammarinese player aswell, Also we gained 16 places and are now ranked 21st in the world, between Ivory Coast & Croatia.

Brilliant couple of months for you mate, obviously there's still a gulf in class between you and the top nations, but it looks as though that's quickly closing. Hopefully you can make it through to the knockout stages in Europe this season.

Well we've gotten the Group Stage draw, but I don't think we'll get too far:

    August 2038

In other news, Rino Alizzi (YP22) left on a free transfer at the start of the season due to not wanting a new contract and is now at Atlanta in Serie B.

Sorry Burn, I asked for this too be locked yesterday for the time being since I've completely ran out of interest with San Marino and the tediousness of the league and Europe, I was in fact writing up the start of the next save I'm doing anyway which involves a certain South American Youth Challenge.

Sad to see it go, but I understand it's tough to go on for as long as you have and maintain the interest.

Thanks a lot for posting it up and all the updates, really enjoyed your career.

I leave school in mid-ish June so how about once I've got exams done and dusted I ask for this to be un-locked (if it's possible) and pick up where I left off, I need a change of FM scenery for now :P

Right guys! This is back, there'll probably be no gameplay tonight unfortunately but I can say we have gone back in time a bit, we are in September 2031 and we have most good players although Nicolas Marinelli (YP24) doesn't exist as it hasn't been his Youth Intake which means he may never exist.

The league is average at best, not very spectacular but we have good goal difference, in Europe it's the same old story of 4th.

1 game in hand but 4 points behind, hopefully we don't let Folgore take this from us!

    Champions League

We have the worst GD in European Competition, never a good sign.
