Too bad you cant get more people in the stadion in the CL, because of the little seats you can provide...

But 7 mil's for getting into groupstage is a huge amount for a small team!!

    Gratz!!

And update!!! i'm addicted to your story

Barça, Milan and Lyon. At least you'll pack your tiny stadium in those matches. Now prize money might be a little difficult.

Oh my god what a tread! One of the most exciting I've seen online in a very long time!

Thanks for not writing long updates - just the important ones. Makes it possible to catch up! I just wish I saw this later, so I didn't have to stop reading now!

Amazing job, though. And man, those occasions with laptop crashing and Steam being hacked scared the cr*p out of me Glad it all worked out though. Hope you reach your goal soon! Looks like you will be done well ahead of schedule lol!

Thanks everyone! sorry for the lack of updates, it's been due to an impulse of exams as a christmas present from the school and a slowly crippling dying computer....only just gotten to the end of the Group Stages and that went EXACTLY according to plan!

Great to see this back buddy, you were very unlucky with the group stage opponents, but at least you got that all-important TV revenue

I know, hopefully I won't get another group like that until I actually have a chance of winning.

    San Giovanni - Campionato Sammarinese - 2029/30

    League Table
    League Positions Graph

The closest season we've had in a long time, winning on goal difference after losing to Murata on the last league game before beating Tre Fiori 2-1 in the Final.

Coppa Titano - Unbeaten and we only conceded goals in the Semi-Final & Final.

European Champions Cup - Possibly the hardest Group there has ever been but at the very least we managed to score! Barcelona made it to the Quarter Finals and were beaten by Manchester United 2-1, A.C Milan beat Chelsea 1-0 in the Final and Olympique Lyonnais lost 3-2 in the EURO Cup 1st Knockout Round to eventual winners FC Porto.

Squad - No changes made here.

Finances - was £13,000,000 at this screenshot, now only £10,000,000 since the board are spending £3,000,000 on upgrading Youth Facilities!

    Youth Players:

    Raoul Belmonte (YP2)

I've asked him to reconsider due to him being so loyal to the club, but I doubt that he'll want to stay on after this new season being his 20th season.

A bit out of the blue, but this next one is over-pricing at it's worst!

We so nearly bottled it, but in reward we get an easy tie against Irish side Glentoran.

600K for a Central Defender with 8 Pace 7 Acceleration worth 8k... That's just too awesome.

    Congrats on qualifying as well!

We lost to APOEL in the 4th Qualifying Round so we got into the EURO Cup Group Stages:

Right, this is really annoying every 2 months I'm getting an error, it's like a crash dump but it's the same thing that Scribe had on his Faroe Islands save, I don't know how to get rid of it, but it's annoying losing progress...

I can, I just get very annoyed by it crashing and closing unexpectedly.

Trust me I know, try having it before, during (and even rarely now, after) every other match or so.

Have you got the patch? Or do you play in offline mode? Patch it if you haven't already - this fixed it for Scribe.

I've gotten it on Steam and bought it through Steam so it should have automatically patched, I've noticed a few changes with U19 caps being counted which i'm thinking is in the new patch?

I would recommend saving after every game. I've gotten crashes too (after I got the patch).

Set it to a weekly rolling autosave if you can bear the extra processing time.

I'll hopefully keep him on as a Coach but don't know how he got that knowledge of Cameroon?

Was there a youth tournament held there or something (tenuous I know, but can't think of anything else)?

I know how he got the Cameroonian knowledge!

It's from when I had to make Martino Bazzoli 2.0, Yazar Yazici walked out as an Assistant Manager so I tried to find the highest profile ex-player who would be our new Assistant, that turned out to be ex-Cameroonian international Samuel Eto'o with 172 caps & 110 goals.

after reading this you have inspired me to do my own San Marino save but with Fiorentino....3rd season now but players keep bottling in it in the championship playoffs...you reckon that could be because the average age of my team is 19? pressure getting to the kids?

    San Giovanni - Campionato Sammarinese - 2030/31

    League Table
    League Position Graph
    Domestic Fixtures

A much better domestic season, a lot of green dots and yet it still took us a few weeks to get into first place.

Coppa Titano - Easily won again, with loads of goals, winning the Semi-Finals 5-3 and winning the Final 5-1.

European Champions Cup & EURO Cup - A loss to APOEL put us in a EURO Cup Group with Lille, Fiorentina & Zenit, and for the first time in a Continental competition we actually looked like we could win, we didn't, but it looked like we could.

Squad - Transfers - We made a £925,000 profit from selling 3 players even if I didn't get the £600,000...

Finances - £11,750,000 in the black and the Youth Facilities are going to be upgraded again!

    Youth Players:

    Raoul Belmonte (YP2)

    Remo Aielli (YP12)

    Angelo Perra (YP13)

    Fabio Bernandini (YP14)

    Antonio Stanzione (YP15)

    Antonello Carraro (YP16)

    Antonio Costanzo (YP17)

    Michele Centofanti (YP18)

    Boris Oddo (YP19)

    Pasque Missiroli (YP20)

    Donato Cursio (YP21)

    Rino Alizzi (YP22)

    Enrico Chiodo (YP23)

It might be, just try doing team meetings to get morale up, sometimes it has a drastically opposite effect though, just keep trying and you'll win

I have a test save in andorra that has all infra-structure maxed outand with a youth recruitment at lvl 9 i never had a player like that in the almost 10 years i played the save. Really impressed with the player!

    Raoul Belmonte (YP2) - Retires age 34!

What can I say, 19 seasons at the club, at one point he was the best player in San Marino but then more Italian imports came in and the standard of San Marino improved....and the rest is history

I say an easy win, and it's time to see what happens when I partner Remo Aielli (YP12) with Enrico Chiodo (YP23)

We went into this game 12-1 outsiders with the media "predicting Zestaponi to put 3 or 4 past us by half time" well, how wrong the media were!

And we get the easiest draw in the 3rd Qualifier against either Qarabag Agdam or TNS, I'm seriously hoping we play Qarabag Agdam as back in 2017 we went against them and lost 10-3, then in 2022 we had a rematch and won 4-2, so this will be a good game to see how much we've progressed!

Great result that one. If I was manager of the other team, I'd be very angry that I had 64% possession and not only didn't score, but conceded 6.

Enrico Chiodo looks like he could be some player as well. Progressing nicely!

Well we beat Qarabag Agdam 5-1 and placed in the playoffs against Red Star and here's how it went:

Now we just have to wait for the Group Stage draw!

Read all the way through and a great thread, great progress. I hope you can upgrade your stadium soon for more seats, you're missing on a lot of European ticket revenue. Great job!

Dude you've done so much since I've been gone Great job, really. I really missed reading your story. Tough luck with those games and Chiodo, but hopefully he'll be back. I think we were talking about 200 years but it looks like you may as well, make it in 150

Broken legs are so bad on FM12, not one player I've had suffer one has come back anything like the same as they were.

Theres always some hope, I've taken a screenshot of his stats and will take another when he returns from injury, to see if he drops to much.

So glad to see this back up and running again. Such a shame about Centofanti though, is there anything more frustrating than one of your best players leaving the club on a free?

hey man, you have so much money.. don't they let you improve your youth recruitment? If they do, you should.. It will cost yeah, but it will do wonders, I'm sure. And don't worry, he won't lose too many attributes. It'll just take some time for him to get better. Let's hope he doesn't become injury prone. Fingers crossed ;)

    And so it happens again...

we have YP 12, 16 & 18 leaving at the end of the season and another couple of players, including the San Giovanni player who's had the most appearances....I'm sensing a halt of "success" until new good youths come through and fill the gaps left by these players.

No great shakes there; it was expected his physicals would drop so you should be okay. Get him back into training and good luck with the youth intake!
