Default San Marino - The Ultimate Challenge!

First off: What am I doing and Why am I doing this??

I am going through all the hardest challenges this game has too offer:

    • Take a team from San Marino to win the European Champions Cup
    • Use Youth Only, no signing ANY players
    • Take the National Team to the European Championships
    • Take the National Team to the World Cup
    • Win the World Cup & European Chamiponships

And why am I doing this?

Well FM 12 has only just come out and I want to stretch it out, I want a game too last me until FM 13, and with using only Youth, I thinks that's reasonable.

Wow who the hell is Yaşar Yazıcı? :/ I've never heard of him and I'm surprised that a remota san marino team has a turkish man as a legend. Gotta look him up on the web.

On topic, insanely hard challenge, best of luck! What is that ranking you gave? The ranking of your league compared to the global leagues?

quick edit: no info on him on the net :/

Yaşar Yazıcı is the San Giovanni Assistant Manager, in last years version he was a Player/ Assistant Manager. He played for San Giovanni from 1992-2007 then he played for Cosmos for a year then became Player/ Assistant Manager until 2010 when he became just an Assistant.

And that ranking is where the league (Campionato Sammarinese) compares to the other European Leagues, right now we're sandwiched between the Greek Amateur Division - Athens & The Romanian Fourth League - Ilfov.

Youth with a sanmarinese team? Good luck and have patience. I'm betting on 200 years to win the Champions League.

So in a few years, your team could be slightly better than what it is now

Good luck, I would never have the nerve to try a challenge like this.

We were predicted to finish dead last and we were doing pretty well, no big shocks but we finished 6th in Group A.

Inconsistency, we couldn't get a decent run of games going and ended up just missing out of qualifying for the next round.

Solid first season to say you were expected to come bottom. Build on that for next season and you'll be the new Barcelona in no time! ;)

I'm doing something similar but with the San Marino club based in the Italian league system and I will be signing players, I really wouldn't have the patience for this.

But good luck anyway, I thought my own challenge was tough!

    Well...this is annoying:

Everyone wants my Youth, thankfully he accepts my amateur contract over there's.

EDIT: Also our first youth gets a cap! It's an U21 Cap but it counts!

March 8th - Youth Candidate Day

I think Fabio La Mura is going to be the first Sammarinese "Star" for someone of this country to have those stats, he's better than most other strikers already

I think I know why our Youths are quite good for this level, I don't know what it means but out Junior Coaching has gone from Minimal to Basic!

And our Squad Personality has changed to "Hungry for Success"

You'll be an absolute hero if you manage to complete any one of the goals you've set yourself. Can see it taking some time, even at the rate your youths have gotten better in these three seasons. Will be awesome when you start getting players called up to the San Marino senior team in the future, YP4 and YP5 look like they might have a shot at that in the future.

    Societa Sportiva San Giovanni

    Campionato Sammarinese

League Table - League Position Graph

    League Fixtures

Started off very inconsistent losing by big margins followed by winning easily we managed to top our group and somehow get to the final but lost to Murata, who for now I shall call our bogey team.

    Coppa Titano:

Group B Table - Coppa Titano Fixtures

A Bad showing this year as we couldn't make it out of the Group Stages finishing 3rd.

    Squad

Again, as I probably always will, got rid of the players that played the least/ didn't play so no big changes, the first youths are breaking through even though they're still in the Youth Squad.

    Key Players:

    Top Goalscorers:

Alfonso Carnio - Duarte Evandro Rodriguez - 16

    Highest Avg. Rating:

    Raoul Belmonte (YP2) - 6.97

    Youth Prospects:

Andrea Pedretti (YP1)- Made 20 appearances in the Youth Team but with 19 of them appearing as a sub.

Raoul Belmonte (YP2) - Has far exceeded my expectations already and the only way is up for this kid, with 21 appearances and 8 assists, he's only 17!

Giorgio Fusi (YP3) - Also joined the first team with 17 appearances, netting 6 goals aswell.

Fabio La Mura (YP4) - Only played one Youth game but i'm expecting him to have some first team games next season.

Simone Santunione (YP5) - Also only played one Youth game, might have him on as a sub some point.

Next season we get to play in the EURO Cup Second Qualifying Round, I'm hoping to use the money that we get to increase the Youth Facilities.

I was hoping for something a bit easier...They were Turkish Premier League Runners Up in 2011 and finished 3rd in the EURO Cup Group E last year, behind Man City & Metalist

Dude that's totally harsh. Trabzonspor is a good team already but they are tremendously overrated by our researchers, they are the Barça of Turkey in FM12. I'll just say, let them get on the pitch without pressure and try to learn from the experience..

Considering the players that they have of their disposal:

I must keep it under 10-0....

That Taner is nothing compared to Burak Yılmaz. Just wish he doesn't play. But the money you'll get is almost 1/8 of your club value, great income..

    San Giovanni's Maiden European Voyage

This is how we line up, our goalkeeper is 33, our backup is 32, 7 of the first 11 are 17 or younger, our substitutes are mainly in their mid 20's but aren't as good. Trabzonspor are 1-33 Favourites, we're 50-1 to even get a result against them..

They've decided to try and score as much as they can by going with a 4-2-3-1 formation.

We've told the players, that we're nowhere near as good as them and that the pressure is off. Game on.

04:39 - A pass covering half the ground makes an early goal for Trabzonspor, 1-0
06:49 - A drill cross to unmarked Devrim Ozen and he taps it beneath Luca Bellavista's body and into the net 2-0 Trabzonspor
10:28 - Engin Peker sprints through our defence and taps it past Luca Bellavista....3-0 Trabzonspor
12:43 - Engin Peker runs from the halfway line gets into the box crosses it to Devrim Ozen who taps it into the bottom right corner 4-0 Trabzonspor
24:24 - Luca Bellavista runs after the ball as Engin Peker runs round him and taps it in, 5-0 Trabzonspor
44:49 - Okan Acar picks up on a misplaced pass and shoots from outside the box. 6-0 Trabzonspor
46:49 (+1) - Engin Peker scores again, this time a penalty, 7-0 Trabzonspor

    2nd Half:

47:00 - Baris Kirgiz hits it between 4 defenders in the box and past the keeper, 8-0 Trabonzspor
65:34 - Engin Peker goes round a defender and shoots from the tightest of angles, 9-0 Trabzonspor
69:42 - Serdar Ozkan gets shown a 2nd yellow, Trabzonspor now play with 10 men!

Oh, because you didn't add that league or well known clubs from europe or sth. they're playing with mostly unreal players.

I hope that the other teams in your league will imrpove as your league's reputation increases. Otherwise your seasons will be so boring that you'l want to stick needles in your eyes instead of looking at the screen, waiting for the season to end with 10 goals per game

San Giovanni's Maiden European Voyage Part II: The Home Leg

I've gone to a more defensive formation and decided to let that Ass Man choose the team....BAD IDEA....we now play with a weakened team, without any of the Youth Prospects and are playing with a couple of players that are even rated 1/2* for us!

    1st Half:

12:52 - Taner Alici has the first true chance but misses a penalty! Still 0-0
19:42 - Ersin Dogan curls a long range free kick into the box, Zokora runs past the defender and gets his head to it. 1-0 Trabzonspor
26:20 - Ersin Dogan takes the corner Zokora gets there again and taps it past the keeper, 2-0 Trabzonspor

    2nd Half:

81:37 - Yasin Colak smoothly slots it past the keeper, 3-0 Trabzonspor

A much more enjoyable game, changed the tactics and got a more reasonable result, that has brought an end the our debut in Europe, lets hope that this is the worst we ever do!

And now I can try and ask the board to upgrade the Youth Facilities!

I don't actually know what this means but lat time the coaching was increased we got better Youth Candidates that year so I'm hoping it will be the same again, also in the Champions League Murata got through the the 2nd Qualifying round on penalties after drawing 0-0 with TNS, they lost to Zestaponi but I'm hoping that it might improve the reputation a tiny bit.

The more I read this, the more I want to do something similar!! But... perhaps not San Marino, as I do not want to rain on your parade. Any suggestions? An Island at similar level? I am not suggesting acheiving the goals you have set, but just to try something similar would be quite fun...

I would say the countries that are at this level you could try Andorra or the Faroe Islands, both of those countries have multiple divisions to play in aswell, good luck if you do give it a try, you'll need a lot of patience ;)

I'll probably do Faroe Islands, at least give it a shot. I loved the fact that actual butchers and repairmen play in their national team as a secondary job lol

so Makoto, how many seasons do you think your career will take? Can it be under 100 years?

Alternatively if you wanted a different continent you could try it with the Maldives in Asia, they're the lowest reputation team that can get into the Asian Champions League or go to American Samoa for the O-League

Goodluck and I honestly have no idea, this is the first time I've tried anything like this, I couldn't see myself doing it in under 50, I'm aiming for 100-150 which is a pretty broad amount of seasons.

What do you think about managing the Sammarinese national team once you start to get decent youth players who can be competitive in an international level?

With the National Team, when the opportunity arises I will always apply for the job, if I don't get it then I don't get it and if I do get the job as the national team manager then the only way I'll leave the national team is if the Sammarinese FA sack me.

Cool, one last question though. Do you watch games in 2d or 3d? I don't think I can watch them in 2d anymore but if I watch them in 3d, seasons take too damn long and 100 seasons means about 400 days for me, with 5 hours a day gameplay. That's just crazy

Probably no more updates on him, not decided yet.

EDIT: Also just checking the club overview, we now have "Adequate Junior Coaching" hopefully better Youths to challenge for the title.

    Campionato Sammarinese

League Table - League Position Graph

    League Fixtures

This season for whatever reason was a lot harder, we hit bottom, but I decided to change tactics a bit to try and get some results near the end of the season, I got big wins and big losses but managed to finish in 4th.

    Coppa Titano

Group A Table - Coppa Titano Fixtures

We managed to get through the Group Stages but lost out in the Quarter Finals.

    EURO Cup

    2nd Qualifying Round

We were woeful away losing 9-0, we managed to do better in the 2nd leg but we still lost 12-0 on agg. It wasn't as bad knowing that Trabzonspor ended up reaching the Group stages and finished 3rd in their group.

    Squad

The usual of releasing a load of players, we now have some of our Youth in the First team and being called up for International Duty.

    Key Players:

    Top Goalscorers:

    Alfonso Carnio - Fabio La Mura (YP4) - 7

    Highest Average Rating:

    Fabio La Mura (YP4) - 7.13

    Youth Prospects:

Andrea Pedretti (YP1) - Not looking too good, 2 appearances this season

Raoul Belmonte (YP2) - Still growing especially in the Sammarinese U21 team with Youth apps and an international goal.

Fabio La Mura (YP4) - Scored 5 in 3 in the league should get more next year. 4 Youth Appearances

Simone Santunione (YP5) - 3 appearances in the league with an average of 7.23 and a Youth international appearance.

Valerio Borrello (YP6) - Don't know about this guy yet, I'll give him a couple of years.

Allessandro Rossini (YP7) - I'm excited about this guy because he's a Goalkeeper, our Goalkeepers are woeful at the best of times and Allessandro is already better than both of those.

And this is new, along with Murata, are acknowledged in Europe!

EDIT: also Raoul Belmonte has picked up his first 2 Senior caps, against Sweden & Finland

Now that is really annoying, my 2nd best Youth has gone...

    Uh-oh, that's the wrong way....

    And it's after 5 straight defeats followed by a draw, we've lost 1-0, 3-0, 3-1, 3-0, 3-0 and now drew 1-1. Bad times.

Is this with the San Marino league from the editors forum, or one you created yourself?

Good luck, surely an impossible challenge!

Have you the option to request becoming professional? would be a shame to have all your players nicked for nothing. Also why do you have a scout? :P

I've tried, apparently we can't afford to turn Professional yet, and my Scout is an ex-player that I wanted to stay at the club.

8th March - Youth Candidates Day

Andrea could be Sammarinese great, if his Finishing and Composure was higher, might stick with him as an Attacking Midfielder for now

Get Andrea to work on those finishing and composure! Train him up, he'll then be a world beater.

I've started training him on his finishing and also some news; I could lose San Giovanni's "Never won silverware" tag, for the first time, I'm in the Coppa Titano Final!

I don't know if you have to sign up to the forum but I think I'm using this database http://community.sigames.com/showthr...Cups-(FM-2012)

    Societa Sportiva San Giovanni

    Campionato Sammarinese

League Table - League Position Graph

    League Fixture

We started off terribly! we couldn't win, I've changed tactics to a 4-6-0 / 4-2-4 and things have worked from their.

    Coppa Titano

Group C Table - Coppa Titano Fixtures

    Coppa Titano Final

Again we started terribly but as the competition went on we got better and got to the final where a former Youth Player scored against us..

    Key Players:

Top Goalscorer & Highest Average Rating:

    Alessandro Mattiello - Scored 9 - 7.08 Rating

    Youth Prospects:

Andrea Pedretti (YP1) - Not very good really, not having an impact.

Raoul Belmonte (YP2) - Made his international debut, now has 3 caps and looks to cement a place in the International Team

Valerio Borrello (YP6) - He's done better than I thought he would, scoring 7 goals and getting 8 assists

Allessandro Rossini (YP7) - Was thrown right in at the deep end, became first team Goalkeeper and made 33 appearances

Claudio Persico (YP8) - Pretty good Attacking midfielder, will give him game time next season

Andrea Ferrari (YP9) - I'm looking forward to him, the finishing training is working already, if only very slightly.

Hopefully this means we won't be far behind being promoted, but also means they'll be getting better players in now.

First off what a way to get yourself onto the International stage, 2 goals on your debut.

And a takeover, hopefully if it works out the chairman will let me keep my job.
