Well done on the Bursaspor result, might manage something against the Danes.
Well done on the Bursaspor result, might manage something against the Danes.
The Danish team is definitely a lot weaker than Bursaspor, but I'm not sure how long our luck will last.
Europa League 3rd Qualifying Round Leg 1: Bourneview vs Midtjylland
We were completely outplayed, making this look like an impossible task.
Europa League 3rd Qualifying Round Leg 2: Midtjylland vs Bourneview
We played a lot better in this leg and even took the lead, but by chasing the winning goal we left ourselves open at the back.
Takes a couple seasons to get the players necessary to break the CL qualifiers etc. Once you do though (and the subsequent £6million cash injection), it becomes a lot easier to continually qualify for the group stages.
I need my reputation to rise at the moment, I've got a bit of money but just can't attract any players better than the ones I have. Ideally we need to turn professional, but apparently we can't afford that.
My few times trying the Gundo Challenge in NI would suggest you either turn professional when you have enough money (qualify for CL group stages) or if you win the league 6 or 7 times consecutively. The former is the most likely incident to occur first.
Bourneview Young Men - Carling Premiership - 2015/16
Last season we came close to the title, but just couldn't keep up with Cliftonville.
League Table
League Positions Graph
We did exactly what Cliftonville did last year, we opened up a big lead and then started losing games as the fixtures piled up. Just like them, we managed to hold on for the title.
Mid-Ulster Cup - the reserves played the entire tournament, and won it.
Irish League Cup - we rotated the squad again as they lost out on penalties.
Irish Cup - Linfield beat us once again, to stop our run of Irish cup wins.
Setanta Cup - this was a massive win for us over a decent Shamrock side.
UEFA Europa League - we had an amazing win over Bursaspor, but the run didn't last long as Midtjylland outplayed us.
Squad - the squad is growing in size to meet the demands of the fixture list, squad rotation is a must with the number of games we are playing.
Transfers - some great players joined the club this year, and I'll continue looking to improve this squad further.
Finances - the prize money from the Setanta Cup has taken our finances to the next level, hopefully we can start to use that money to improve the facilities.
Key Player Profiles:
Martin Zelenka - another great season from the striker.
Eriks Punculs - surprisingly he managed to out-score Zelenka.
Matija Cakarun - another great year, with plenty of assists from the midfielder.
Tom Richardson - a new signing, but what a player!
Ian Woodford - another winger who set up a decent number of goals.
Career OverviewNext SeasonCode:Season League Position Achievements ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2012/13 Championship Two 1st League, Mid-Ulster and Intermediate Cup winners 2013/14 Championship One 1st League, Mid-Ulster and Irish Cup winners 2014/15 Carling Premiership 2nd Irish Cup winners 2015/16 Carling Premiership 1st League, Mid-Ulster and Setanta Cup winners
It hasn't taken long, but I think the domestic challenge may be over. I have a feeling that the progress over the next few years will be slow as we try and work our way to professional status and start bringing the club up to a level that can compete outside of Northern Ireland.
Reputations
Northern Ireland - 63rd in FIFA rankings - up 11
Northern Ireland - 45th in UEFA coefficients - up 1
Carling Premiership - 168th in European competitions (1.5 stars) - up 12
Bourneview - 488th in UEFA coefficients - up 423
Nice job mate. the rep seems to be rocketing up
Very nice dafuge, you've found some great players there too. Wish I could have ones like them :/
Great season daf, as always you are doing a great job![]()
Champions League champions second qualifying phase leg 1 - Sheriff vs Bourneview
We struggled with the pace a bit as Sheriff dominated most of the play, but we had a few good chances and grabbed a vital equaliser.
Champions League champions second qualifying phase leg 2 - Bourneview vs Sheriff
We were holding on to the 0-0 draw we needed when Sheriff had a man sent off. This changed the game enough for us to take control and grab a winner. We now face Renova Dzepcitse of Macedonia in the next qualifying round.
Congratulations daf, not long now until you are dominating Europe!
Champions League champions third qualifying phase leg 1 - Renova vs Bourneview
Despite the stats, we were the better team in this match.
Excellent result! Is there a final qualifying round after this?
Edit: Assuming you don't bottle the second leg, of course.
Champions League champions third qualifying phase leg 2 - Bourneview vs Renova
It looked like it was going to be close when Renova pulled back to 2-2, but we picked them apart as they went for the win.
The final qualifying round brings us up against AIK of Sweden. Possibly one of the best clubs we could get in the draw, but they are decent side.
Champions League champions playoff leg 1 - AIK vs Bourneview
I'm not quite sure what to make of this. We battered them.
Champions League champions playoff leg 2 - Bourneview vs AIK
AIK were much better in this match and scored an early goal, but as they pushed forward we were able to hit them on the break managing another unlikely win.
This means we have made the Champions League group stage and the £6m that comes with it. I'm shocked that we've made it, but the 'champions route' in the qualifiers makes a huge difference for clubs like us. Had the qualifiers been in the old format, we'd have come up against clubs like Arsenal, Valencia, Fiorentina, Schalke and Porto. Instead, the worst we could have been drawn against was perhaps Standard Liege.
And the group draw has been made, this is who we've got![]()
It's unbeliavable![]()
That's incredible! Really really impressive work, daf.
WOW tough group. 3rd place if lucky?
Impressive work! Also, not often you see three teams from the United Kingdom in the same Champions League group (i.e. never!).
Probably, within the UK, NI, Glasgow and Liverpool aren't massively far from each other. Also could be a lot worse then Milan in terms of distance.
Should I carry on with individual updates for European games?
My first is in the San Siro![]()
yes, you should.
Champions League group stage - AC Milan vs Bourneview
We were lucky to come away with this scoreline as AC Milan looked like they could score at will. Our counter attacks looked so slow and it wasn't until the last few minutes when we managed to have a shot (which hit the post). The other two teams drew, so there is still hope!
0 shots on target![]()
It was very nearly 0 shots in total
AC Milan on the Wednesday, Ballinamallard United on the Saturday. Just your typical week![]()

Champions League group stage - Bourneview vs Liverpool
So close to the big win, but this is a fantastic point.
Sir, I congratulate you
Excellent work matching Milan and Liverpool.
Champions League group stage - Bourneview vs Rangers
We managed to outplay them, securing a great win with a late penalty.
This is how the group stands at the half way stage. Looks great but our remaining games are the away trips and Milan at home.
If you can get something from Milan at home and Rangers away then you should have a shot of holding on to the Europa League spot - not out of the question given your previous performances!
It's official: The game IS too easy for you![]()
'Impossible is nothing'
I guarantee if I started with Bourneview I'd have been sacked and relegated in my first season. Congrats on a great start to life in NI dafuge. Wonderful results in the CL group stage![]()
Unbelievable. Great work so far.
Gosh. Superb stuff. Is it a series of great team performances, or are there some individuals who are really shining on the European stage?
Champions League group stage - Rangers vs Bourneview
It was a repeat of the home game, and this was no fluke. We defended superbly and hit them with counter attacks, we deserved this win.
This is the group table![]()
Squad - European stats
It's been pretty good all round, but the midfield have excelled. Harris and Richardson are the stand out players in Europe so far.
Great results Dafuge! I'm betting your europe run will do wonders for the Coefficient rankings.
Amazing dafuge, winning at Ibrox![]()
Great european performances Daf![]()
Champions League group stage - Bourneview vs AC Milan
It started so well, but a red card and a load of injuries removed any tiny chance we had of getting a result from this match.
Group table - this is a fantastic position to be in, an AC Milan win puts us into the Europa League and an unlikley win at Anfield would mean we qualify from the group.
Your making this look very straight forward. Keep up the good work and good luck against Liverpool.
Champions League group stage - Liverpool vs Bourneview
This is becoming a bit of a joke now, we went to Anfield and matched them (thanks to the sending off). They may have been the better team, but we made so much more of our chances.
Champions League Group E
If the Liverpool result wasn't enough, Rangers went and beat AC Milan in the San Siro. We've topped the group![]()
absolutely amazing..
We've drawn Atlético Madrid in the first knockout round. Can the run continue?
This is crazy daf. You're in the Champions League 1st Knockout Round with Bourneview!![]()
Top work there.
Ridiculous behaviour
Chris Kamara would be having a field day
Damn thats quick, took me like a decade in Iceland to get out of the Champions League group stage in FM2011... and here you do it in a few years... your too good
I can imagine the headlines- "Club with worst emblem and webpage in the history of football taste European glory".
Unbelievable, once again. Congrats on the qualification.
Something is so wrong with this game. Even CL qualification is so unrealistic (even in 20 years), but group results left me speechless.
Amazing work, dafuge.
New feature... doping probe lol
bloody hell
It is a bit weird, I was expecting something like 20 seasons before I got anywhere near this sort of thing. It won't last though, the good players all want to leave for bigger clubs already. We can only really go backwards over the next few years, despite possibly turning pro.
The backroom staff pester me about match preparation (which is odd since they handle it) but not tactics.

It's not too easy, it's just pure football. When a manager has almost total control, and he has talent, you see what happens in Brian Clough's story. And in the same story, you see what happens when they aren't in control. Prolonged success only ccomes when there is only one boss. Such as Sir Alex Ferguson but irl there's almost never a single boss. Every single director wants different things and that chaos prevents the team from becaoming succesful. FM is about pure football, that's why it's so good
It's unrealistic the amount of control you get given right off the bat - certain managers do earn the right to dictate everything that goes on at a club after they've paid their dues like Ferguson, or have a proven track record - see Mourinho vs Valdano at Madrid.
However, adding in meddling directors of football etc would just add more frustrations and almost certainly make GD explode with self-righteous indignation, so probably best to keep it how it is.
Wouldn't be much of a game if it wasn't how it is.
Truly amazing stuff! Very well done on topping that Champions League group. You've certainly put Northern Ireland on the map now!
Amazing Daf, Keep up the brilliant work
Cracking stuff, will be following this from here onwards![]()
Matija Cakarun
A sign of things to come?
I have a feeling that this will be the story for a while. As a small semi professional club, there's not a lot I can do to stop my players moving to better clubs![]()
Definately a Hot prospect for future and on the player screen how do you change it so u can have biography and loads of different stuff instead of the default 6 like attributes but can have 12 like urs if ya know what i mean :L
He was a hot prospect, just a shame I'm losing him
As for the extra panels, you just need a higher resolution on your computer.
Is it possible to change it so they all show up instead of 6 mate
Only if your computer is capable of running at a higher resolution.
I think mine should be able to but dont know how to put them on
Should be automatic if your resolution is large enough.
:/ I have 8 atm but id rather have all of them :L
It says that it is 1280 x 800, whats yours?
I have a couple more now but i think thats all i can get![]()
Thats why :L
Champions League first knockout round leg 1 - Atlético Madrid vs Bourneview
We got ripped apart. It was fun while it lasted![]()
To get that far is still a phenomenal achievement, well done dafuge
P.S It's not over yet!!!
