Currently in season 2 in League 1, just happy in midtable, gonna try and push for the Play-Offs but I don't think we have enough quality
Still not doing very well though...24 points from 24 games. Should be safe, but looks like a playoff push is gone now.
Have you got a link to download the kits, GOM?
I resisted the urge to make any major transfers this pre-season as I was quite happy with the spine of my team. Instead I went about making some new goalkeepers a top priority and picking out a handful of signings that could hopefully benefit us for the season ahead.
We started the season in fine form and held top spot in the league for some time to the surprise of many, myself included. Sadly, like in other seasons, a fall wasn't too far away and it hit us hard as we went from top to not even in the playoffs. We struggled for consistency for the rest of the campaign and a new tactic could be worth investigating for the second half next season to ensure we don't get found out yet again.
The cups didn't provide much in terms of funds. We reached the 1st round of the FA Cup where we suffered a 2-0 loss to Rochdale. The highlight of the run was a revenge victory over Swindon Supermarine in the 3rd Qualifying Round, even if it was after a replay, to make up for the loss to them during my first season. We slumped out of the FA Trophy before the 1st Round after losing to Solihull Moors in a replay.
In other news I also received my first job offers of the game with Mansfield and Kidderminster of the BSP both feeling I was the man who could revive their fortunes.
I also collected the Manager of the Season award for the first time.
FINAL POSITION - 7TH
HIGH - The first half of the season. Top of the league, clear by a few points. Heaven.
LOW - Losing 5 league games in a row to slip down the table in late January-February. We never really recovered from it.
Adam Francis - In what could be his last season for me (his wages are too much for us now) Francis delivered yet again. It'll be hard to try and move him on.
Josh Millwood - I doubt I'll ever manage another DC who scores so much. Another big player that I should probably be trying to move on to reduce the wage bill.
Charlie Taylor - Another good season for Charlie, first choice left back when available.
Stephen Chiocchi - 11 assists this season, great stuff from my right back.
Kurtis March - The playmaker and captain chipped in with some big goals this season, even if most were from the penalty spot!
Jim Thompson - If I could only keep one player of my current squad Jim would be him. He's still only 18 but another prolific season. Legend in waiting.
Aristote Amisi Kamaneno - It was a big gamble of a signing but he was the best of my new arrivals this summer by some way.
AIMS FOR NEXT SEASON
Squad overhaul sadly. We're doing badly finance wise so I think I'll have to sacrifice some of our high earners.
Cup runs are needed.
- Don't get relegated or enter administration.
- Beat fierce rivals Bath next season after their drop down to the BSS.
Well reloaded a few times and I have decided to go with Marine. So here is my character, Juan Pedro Martinez, a young manager from Ecuador who has come to England to make it big in football. He used to watch Liverpool games on the telly as a boy, now he has a chance to pursue the dream of managing on Merseyside – well that’s what he said at the first press conference anyway. Interesting feature: one of the questions was about my lack of English (asked in English!) which gives me a good excuse to leave all the talking to the assistant. And if I don't bother turning up on matchdays because "I don't feel right" I can always blame a mistranslation, amirite?! I can however give the lads a bollocking in Quechua apparently which is probably quite a niche skill in the FM world.
The squad I inherited isn’t going to set the BSN on fire but it was pleasing that all the defenders and the keeper were good in the air and really really slow, which shows a reasonable attempt by the previous manager to build a squad. However 3 of them are on ridiculous wages and I couldn’t move them on e.g. the highest earner Neil Harvey – what a waste of money.
I’ve let a few of their contracts expire and got rid of a couple on free transfers. The incoming lot are supposedly a marginal improvement but really they mainly ensure I can cover decent players with decent players. Squad My 3 quality targets recommended by the coaches all had their work permits turned down even though they’d just been released by other English clubs, how can that be right? So our best player is Callum Byrne. I’m hoping the rest improve as they play, but I will mention Jordan Patrick, surely the ultimate test of the theory that physical stats are all you need at this level - look at all those 2s!
The U18 squad has a grand total of 1 player, and their youth facilities are rented so I doubt there’ll be much joy from that side of the set-up.
My season goals are:
- Avoid relegation
- Avoid debt (Only 16 players plus the three rejects who won’t go on p/t contracts)
- Work out which of this lot I can build a team around.
Just managed a 1-1 draw away at BSP Dover in the FAT 2nd round --- despite having 4 attack midfielders or strikers out on long-term injuries, and despite having my star DC suspended due to a professional foul sending-off in the prior match. By the time the replay at home is up, I will have Tunnecliffe back, and maybe one or two of the strikers as well. I just might pull off an upset!
16/16 is like Usain Bolt at that level, so even with 7 finishing he'll still bag a few, although off the ball and composure are shocking.
I've been floating around just outside the playoffs all year, but a couple of big wins in December have lifted me up to 5th place. My defence has been leaking goals all year, but luckily I've been scoring goals as well. I'm hoping my 'we'll score more goals than you' tactic will be enough to get us to the play offs this season.
In F.A cup we got to the first round proper, but lost to BSN high flyers Barrow in a replay. We were unlucky to draw BSN leaders AFC Telford in the 3rd qualifying round of the FA Trophy, and went out of that competition early.
We had a very thin squad when I arrived, with only a few players capable of performing at BSN level. With no money to spend I relied on free transfers to build my squad. Key signings include top scorer Ben Williamson, who has formed a strong partnership up front recently with Neil Harvey. Harvey missed the start of the season through injury, but has come into form since returning with 5 goals in his last 6 games. Another key addition was Stefan Oakes, who is my player/coach and a real class act at this level.
All in all, a solid start. Hopefully we can continue this momentum and push for a play off finish.
note: I don't seem to be on the list on the front page. I posted my profile about a week ago (post #1351)
Wow my team have gelled really well for league 2, keeping a lot of players from last season in the team was a great idea if i do say so myself
Just beaten Portsmouth in the 3rd Round of the F.A Cup, next round we have Dagenham, I really need a decent run as we are low on money! Still waiting for a Premiership away day!
Just read the last pages so cut out the personal insults please

Well my Welsh save is getting tedious, so it's time for a new challenge.
Billiericay possibly have the worst name for a team I've ever seen, as well as a fairly bland logo, but I haven't seen too many others pick them, so they're my choice for this challenge. I've set expectations to avoid relegation, though my personal target is a safe mid-table finish.
Now I've got 3 or 4 hours before my weekend is officially over, so hopefully I can power through a season and get a review posted by the end of the night.

Have started out with two solid draws away to Dover and at home to title fancies Crewe, and have looked reasonable. Was well worth a point in the former and was the better side against Crewe.
However, immediately after I took the lead, the AI pulled out this piece of junk. Annoying.
I've got two updates to come today. I save all my screenshots before I do the update, then continue with the season... but I ended up getting so into my L2 season that I forgot to post it and I've completed the season now.
FC United of Manchester
Season 3 - 2014/15 – Blue Square Premier
Preseason - Media Prediction: 15th
Second season in the Blue Square Premier. After last seasons struggle, I wanted a bit better this year. Media predicted 15th, board wanted mid-table, I wanted top half.
This year went a bit better than the last, I'd say. We started off slowly, well, 5 games... before we were third. Then the rollercoaster ride began. Up and down, up and down, up and down. We never went above 3rd, but never went below 11th. That was until we hit the 37th game of the season, when we started our climb to first. Everything was going so well, we were in first... then we dropped to 2nd. And it ended there. Absolute heartbreak. The final day of the season, we lost to Hayes & Yeading 3-1. The playoffs beckoned. We drew Burton Albion. In the first leg, 2-2 was the score. In the second leg, penalties decided it, and we won. In the final, our good friends Aldershot, who we destroyed 6-0 last season. That game ended 2-1, and we were promoted!
Another notable effort was our FA Cup run. We managed to get to the 4th round before losing to Wolves. If we'd beaten them, Manchester United would have been next.

Fan's Player of the Year
Fan's player of the year, and also top scorer. 38 league games, 23 goals. He also got top scorer in the league itself. I don't think we'd have been promoted if it wasn't for him.
The Jordan Swinburn Award (The Surprise of the Season award)
This season, the surprise wasn't so much of a good one. It was more of a shock. Losing to Hayes & Yeading on the last day to lose out on the title was horrible. I thought we'd do it, and then we got beat by Hayes & freakin' Yeading.
The Millward Player Choice Award (Manager's Player of the Year)
Marcus gets this too. He was outstanding. Absolutely outstanding.
Goal of the Season
No G-Mac this season. He didn't score, surprisingly. This season, Jamie Proctor gets it with a lovely chip.

This season my main aim was to secure a play off spot, after being relatively close last season.
Also i wanted to try to make the team more consistent, which was no easy feat for sure.
The start of the season saw us continue where we left off with some half decent results, but some pretty poor ones too. However it was our Home form that started with a bang. We seemed to be winning most home matches, and drawing or losing most of the away matches. Which of course i was not happy about.
This trend seemed to continue throughout the season, only losing one home game, which was ridiculous considering it was to last place at the time Plymouth who has just come down for League 2 (They went on to get relegated) and it was a Christian Baz OG that did it
Our away form did pick up, once i get used to a more regular settled first team, with a few clever first team and rotation additions.
The team coped well with change again. With a whole host of changes during the season, although not quite as many as the previous two seasons.
Well my policy has been to throw cup games, as i want to concentrate on climbing the leagues, and as the fixtures are congested enough i thought a cup run wouldn't help. My team has other plans. We got all the way to the final where we played non league Margate. Straight forward and simple job considering the run i was on...RIGHT?
Nope Margate took us to extra time, however two extra time goals from Lee Carpenter sealed the win, and my first piece of silverware
Towards the end of the season we were flying, and actually went TWENTY FOUR games unbeaten. A record which will be nice to take into L2.
Due to this run it was possible to catch up to macclesfield. After a huge away result against them, in which we got a man sent off in the first half but managed to score a LATE late winner, we were in contention to win the league. Unfortunately we had to count on other teams to stop them, which just didnt happen, so it was 2nd place and the playoffs for Bury Town.
Playoff Semi Finals
I was pretty happy with the playoff fixtures. Crewe jumped into the last playoff place on the last game of the season, and i had to play them away first.
It was a pretty straightforward and comfortable win, with both of my strikers Robertson and Ansah getting a goal a piece, and Crewe not causing too many scares.
Leg 2 for me was more a formality, with our amazing home form and the run we were on i was confident that anyone who came to our new Bury Town Stadium would have to pull out something spectacular to get a win. As it turns out we pretty much dominated this game too, another 2-0 win, one for Ansah again and one for our captain Corbin Ong. Amazingly we were in the final with little to no trouble, against bury who also won 2-0 in both legs.
The final was a tense affair if only for my stomach. We started off well, attacking Bury and were on the front foot for the whole of the first half Leskur bagged a first half goal on the 20 minute mark, and we were in control. I told the players i was happy at half time, and they repsonded magnificently, Wright who was on a 6.2 came out 2nd half like a different player, scoring in the 47th minuted, and even though they replied with a 71st minute goal, Wright popped up again to score his second on the 85th minute mark. It was over we had won 3-1 and we were into League 2
Here is the final Table
Transfers In/Out Pt2
Fixtures Pt1 Pt2 Pt3
Zak Ansah - There is not much i can say about this guy that his stats don't show. He is a goal machine, plain and simple, he knows where the goal is and has a knack for getting the ball in the back of the net. He has a few different strike partners during the season, from baseya, to Robertson, but it didn't really matter. All that mattered was that when he played he would more than likely play a part in setting up the goal, or be curling one into the far corner. Ended up as top goalscorer in the BSP. In my eyes this guy is already a legend.
Jordan Robertson - My other main striker for the season, and a great pick up for free. This guy was the perfect foil for Ansah, would flick the ball on for the pacey striker, and would bag a few goals himself. When Ansah was away on International duty he would step up and score the extra goals, and when Ansah came back he seemed to let him take the lead. The only thing he needs to work on is to tone down his aggression (Which strangely is happening if you look at his stats).
Joe Wright - This guy has been on form this season, and he really has been providing alot of the goals. His 28 assists is a new record for the club and 11 goals playing from either wing is not bad either. He basically ran the show in the playoff final, and hopefully can make the step up to L2.
Kristijan Leskur - Has not done a great deal since he has joined the club, but is on the key players list as i believe that he is going to be a key player for the next 2 seasons at least. Has some problems settling, but a leave of abscence to go visit Crotia seemed to have helped. His stats are ridiculous for the BSP, lets just hope he can find some more form in L2.
Lee Carpenter - Usually would appear on the right whilst Wright was on the left, and although did not get as many assists or goals, he still was vital to our success this season. 5 goals, 13 assists and gained his first full Wales cap. This guy again has ridiculous stats for this level and is another one who i can see hanging around next season and maybe a couple of more after. According to my coaches he could become a good Championship Player.
Jacob Sokolik & Lavere Corbin Ong - These guys go together like 2 peas in a pod, or 2 tanks on a field. When they play together our defence looks pretty damn good. Both with AVG over 7.00 and both chip in with a few goals to help the team. My first choice CB partnership this season has proved to gel together well. Lets just hope they can both make the step up to L2.
Other News & Awards
Not much really - apart from moving into my new stadium. (Bury Town Stadium)
We upgraded our training facilities.
Also Zac Ansah was the top goalscorer for the division.
I was Manager of the year.
The board decided to up the seats in the stadium by 787 which will take the next 4 months to complete.
Next Seasons Aims
1. Mid table - We need to gain a foothold in L2. I don't expect to just easily make the jump up. The initial wage budget is only 7k which is 1.5 k more than i am spending right now. Which means after renewing contracts, hopefully getting some on FT contracts, i won't have much if any money left over. Mid table will set us up nicely for next season.
2. Quality - Bring in a few more players who have quality for L2, and can also make the step up to L1 or the championship. Basically a few more players with Carpenter or Leskurs stats.
3. Focus on a good cup run - Recently i have been throwing the cups. Even though that didnt work with the FA trophy which i was destined to win it seems like. However this year i would like to go further in the FA cup and maybe get a lucrative draw against a premiership side or two.

All rejected within 24 hours, haha.
3 games after i signed around 4/5 players from germany and denmark in every game one of them has scored
Just wait for the youngsters to be interested. Will take some time, but the patience pays off in the end.

3rd season, BSP. Through to the 4th Round of FA Cup, just drew a dream tie away to Arsenal. Should solve my debt.
Don't think I'm going to have too much trouble staying up - currently 3-5-1 to sit in 9th place with 14 points and not getting outplayed at all. The loss was a dodgy one too, as I played Aldershot off the park and lost 0-1 to a penalty.
My star AMC from the BSS left the club as he wanted far too much in wages (fair play to him, he managed to double his wages at Scunthorpe in L1) and I wasn't able to find a good enough replacement. I find using an AMC is one of those things that only works if you have a good one, as otherwise you're just left with a passenger, so I've switched to two up front which seems to be working. Happy with my squad but I've got enough wage budget left to make a signing if need be.
BSP is probably my favourite league, as it's so even and competitive and is, from my own experiences, the hardest one to get out of along with the Champo.
Whats happened to the forum? I cant click the links to update the table with the latest posts!
just gone to load up my game and have got file is corrupted
was really enjoying my game with Hastings United, who shall i be this time
On FM11 I went all the way from BSP to the Prem with Forest Green playing two up front, however then managed to get this guy on the cheap from United, played him in the hole and ended up winning three league titles with a lone striker scoring 40+, as he used to just dictate the play.

Love how i have a player with an average rating of 7.10 and the board, Fans and Coaches think i should drop him due to one bad game!
#18 reddevil4ever here the new manager of Bedford Town
had to restart due to a corrupt save, this time i decided to apply for managers job at any of the promoted teams, the only one fitting this was Bedford Town, so sent my C.V to the club.
After a few days I was offered the job at newly promoted Bedford Town, which i duly accepted.

well 1st impressions of my new club is:
i'm gonna need a miracle this season as only have these players at club.
to do this season
1) need at least 15-20 players to stand a chance of staying up this year
2) have a cup run if possible to increase funds to allow me to get players required
3) pray that 50-50's go my way during the season to help the fight to stay in this league
Table updated. A check would be good folks!
Excellent work as ever, GreyedOutMan. Many thanks.
Restarting was frustrating but my first game was just getting silly. But I have been far more sensible this time. I signed Karius on far too much - and he was utterly hopeless, by the way - I dont know why so many people have had such succes with him - but he has now been sold which means that, whilst I just about dipped into the red towards the end of the season, I should be back in the black by the start of the league season.
The season was very up and down. Whenever it looked like we were ready to go on a decent run, we lost a few games again. In the last 13 games, I won just four, losing nine, and winning just one of the last five. Whilst relegation was never an issue, another four wins in that run, say, and we would have been properly in mid-table.
Cup runs this year were replay-filled, but didnt manage to get far enough for them to be at all lucrative really.
A pretty poor season, all in all. I need a big clear-out.
Jamie Tank - the Tank was as influential as he always seems to be at this level.
Victor Zapata-Caicedo* - Not scoring as much as I would like but still...
Bradley Jordan - he started better than he finished, but still a decent year. Sorry I forgot to SS him in time!
Dylan Robinson - a decent partner for Tank but will look to replace him next season.
(*= fans' player of the year)
The team of the year
The historical best XI
Next season is crucial if I'm ever going to get anywhere with this save. I need to make a step in the right direction without risking the future of the club.
Targets for 2013/14
Obtain a positive goal difference. Sounds odd but we were quite close this year until right at the end so that push from negative to positive would be a good step.
Top half finish. SHOULD follow if we do get a positive goal difference.
Sign at least one player who will have an AvR of over 7.
In other news, City won the cup for the third time in a row but couldnt retain the double - something that has still never been done.

PS Could I add my usual plea to the end of my post - anyone who gets a moment, if you could check the table on the first page whenever you can it would make my life easier. Just check the numbers at the bottom beneath the table add up, really, and let me know if I've missed any posts!

Eman - Hendon - Season Review 2012-2013 (BSS)
After a mixed start managed to find some great form at the end of september, but seemed to fall apart around the turn of the year and despite a mini revival which suggested the playoffs were still on, in the end very disappointingly dropped out of the play off positions on the last day of the season. Also went way overboard with wages, and so probably gonna have to lose a few of my best players. Cup runs were not especially exciting, getting knocked out in 1st and 3rd rounds of the fa cup and trophy respectively.
Squad - Transfers - Table - Past Positions
Drew. FC United. Blue Square North. 2012/2013
Table - It took us until the last game of the season, but we managed to pull it off, and get promoted at the first attempt, so now doubt I was pretty chuffed
Graph - We never went below 11th, and on the penultimate game of the season, we managed to get into top spot, and well, the rest is history.
Squad - I brought in a lot of players that I thought would be able to secure us a mid-table finish at least, Dan WArd cost me £6k, and boy was he worth it, securing the LB position as his own, even though I had more experienced players, missed a few games of the season mostly due to International call ups, but I'm hoping he will have another solid season in the BSP; Keeron Lloyd was signed in January, he missed a lot of games through injury, but his quality was there and I'm hoping he will be able to show his true form next season; Robert Brennan was signed during the summer, and played a major part in our promotion, chipping in with 9 goals and 5 assists, was always a constant threat down our left flank.
Aims for next season:
Improve the squad.
When you go into L2 do you automatically get professional status?
F.c. United 2015/16 End Of Season Update.
It was a unbelievable season ! we were newly promote and were favourites for the drop ! but with some quality signings and the team playing some fantastic football we were able to finish 3rd and get promotion into league 1 !!!!!!!!!!! we looked good into early december but we were only just scraping results which wasn't like we was early in the season ! so i decided to hunt the youth national teams of the like of germany and denmark and found some wondeful talent ! this talent pushed us through the season and we were able to claim 3rd spot as ours !
-Michele Fornasier, quality centre half he was an absoloute rock and scoring his fair share of goals aswell, unfortunatly i couldn't afford what he was requesting on his new contract so is leaving
-Michael OHalloran, top goalscorer for me once again absolutely magnificent ! Also played well with whoever i partnered him with which was great !

Targets for next season
Avoid Relegation !
Get some more youth in !
Boost finances to open up future pathways for the club !
Question for anyone in league 2 or above, how did you manage in the first seaosn of league 2. I can only afford to put like 6 of my guys on FT contracts. The rest are still on PT or non contract. Was it the same for you? My wage budget is 7.25k
glennuk i was fine i managed to get most of mine on ft contracts make sure you get rid of anyone you really don't need to free up wages and you should be fine also i moaned my board for more wages and they did increase it 2/3 times in a season ! so no i was fine btw my wage budget was about the same perhaps a touch more than yours however it depends how greedy your players are mine were actually quite generous and signed for nothing really !
Just made the BSP playoffs. Facing York in the semi. Wish me luck.
Season 2013-2014 Review
Aaron Woodley playing in 2010
Media Prediction: 14th
My Prediction: Playoffs at the very least
Final Position: 3rd
We had a crazy season, never able to build a good streak of wins. It was incredibly frustrating winning a game only to lose the next. We managed to qualify for the playoffs on the final day of the season though as our title challenge ebbed away to Dartford.
Playoff Semi Finals: Facing Tonbridge, we won 2-0 in the first leg away but struggled at home, being beaten 2-1. We went through to the finals as underdogs on aggregate.
Playoff Final: An incredible battle between us and second placed Bath resulted in a nine goal thriller. Fortunately, we ended up on the right end of the scoreline and were promoted with a 5-4 win.
FA Cup: Beaten once again in the Second Qualifying Round, this time to Havant and Waterlooville 4-3.
FA Trophy: No repeat of last seasons heroics as we were comprehensively spanked by AFC Telford in the Second Round.
Managers Player of the Season
Aaron Woodley: Narrowly edges out Ben Mackey having been signed during the middle of last season. 19 goals and a 7.18 rating makes him this seasons top player.

Most of your good players will have played well in BSP and BSS and request quite a lot of cash to go professional and realistically they won't be worth it. I found I was able to get promising young players in on £150pw, whereas my stronger BSP players were asking for £350+ to turn pro. Those players won't be good enough to take you upwards through the leagues, so don't feel like you should turn them Pro just because that seems the right thing.
Hope that helps!
About to play Chelsea away in the F.A Cup, hopefully it won't be a massacre!
Damn, sitting quite happily top of League 1 after 20 games. And now my goalkeeper and two centre-backs go and get injured! Found a fantastic Scottish keeper available on a free too, but my board won't allow me any more cash to sign him. Frustrating times!
I think I have some corrections to the table on the front page:
There are two entrants with the number 102 (104 in total),
There is only one player with St. Albans (not 2),
There are two players with AFC Hornchurch (not 1),
There are 12 teams that have been picked twice so the number at the end of that line should be 24 (not 22),
There are 37 players in the BSS (not 34).
Good stuff otherwise

#86 - Gilbster - Attempts this once again!
Realised that it always helps to put a Profile picture, for a new attempt. I am taking part this time as North Ferriby, and over half way through the season enjoying them. (Screenshot was taken on day 1, just not posted until now!)
The good thing is that not only are you right, but I know why you're right. The St. Albans thing for example, was because I briefly took them on before re-re-starting as Harrow!
KUTGW - its useful knowing that I have someone looking out for my mistakes!
Hmm duno how to do the multi quote function on this forum....maybe someone could let me know.
Anyway, Thanks for the replies, sam, dan and Brizza.
I have only really got my star players on full time contracts. Some wanted over 1k Most expensive is now on 750 though, still alot out of my budget, but with those, the part time and non contracters i think i have a very good squad. Now have 7 on Ft.
Over my wage budget by about 1k though hope the board dont get too pissed. Think this season may be a mid table spot, but i am really hoping that i can get lucky and get a promotion straight away, maybe get a bit of money in from a good cup run, and have a much better wage budget for L1.
Sad thing is my rep still sucks. Most BSP teams are better rep than me and im now in L2 and professional grrr

FC United Season 2013/14 - Participant # 12
Quick end of season update -
End 4th, and beaten in the play off finals. Gutted :<
Finances are doing ok, I dont have many screenshots as im a few months into the new season, but i was about 200k in the black.
Alot of players have been moved in/out/shaken all about.
One good event happened, Liverpool lost FA Cup against Sunderland
England, won the world cup, against argentina.... on penalties lol?
So, back to the basics with the team, bought in some cracking players.
Will have a better mid season update for the 2014/15 season as its my week off
Sorry for the crappy update ;>

League Table | Past Positions | Cups | Playoff Semi Final Leg 1 | Leg 2 | Final
Sat in 2nd pretty much all season, way above expectation. No one was going to touch Newport this year so I'm pretty thrilled with this really. True to form we had a poor end to the season though and unlike last year saw no improvement for the playoffs. A 0-1 loss to York in the first leg semi wasn't an ideal start and serving a touchline ban for the 2nd leg certainly didn't help to turn things around, but the assistant didn't disappoint and pulled us through with a spirited 3-1 home win. That's about it for our fortunes though, conceding a very early own goal in the final and eventually slumping to a 1-2 defeat. Maybe next year, eh.
Still no luck in the FA Cup but happy to reach the FA Trophy final. Just too bad we couldn't pull off a better showing once there.
No upheavals compared to last year. I probably don't need to point out how much we rely in Jakobsen with that goalscoring record, a fact that proved problematic in the playoffs as he was on a two-month goalscoring drought and showed no sign of breaking it. Still, all I really want is better central defenders; these guys were an issue last year already but I couldn't get anyone better in.
A few all very key signings. The highlight of the bunch is no doubt Rasmussen, slotting in as a support striker/playmaker a few yards behind Jakobsen. Injured for the playoffs, obviously.
Still going in the wrong direction, but not as fast thanks to better attendance numbers in the BSP. Thankfully one of the big games got us back in the black - probably the FA Trophy final. I just wish they'd up my wage budget; it's getting frustrating to hang around £2800 and having to sell players before I can ever bring someone new in.
Aim for next season: Reach the playoffs again. Find better DC's.

#86 - Gilbster - 2012/13 - North Ferriby - BSN - End of Season Update
Table | Positions | Squad | Transfers | Finances
After a years holiday, and numerous reloads, I decided to take charge of a little northern club called North Ferriby. They had very little staff, a reasonable base squad, a parent club of Hull just for friendlies, but the bits I was more concerned about was that they play in green (apparently I have luck managing green teams in the past), and they already had players on non contracts, giving me the potential to sign players on non contracts.
First up as any confidence lacking manager would do, I asked the guys on steam for a few recommendations, which I duely sent my scouts after, and also signed a scout and a coach to beef up the backroom staff. And then got to work attempting to build a squad capable of survival. I signed far too many players some on non contracts and some on part time contracts, and for most of the season I was actually under wage budget, which was useful. I do admit the squad is a tiny bit too large and it will get trimmed over the summer.
The opening game of the season was against Mansfield, which we lost, and lead me to think that we would be in a relegation battle all season. Of course I had conveniently forgotten that Mansfield has just been relegated from the BSP and thus were one of hte better teams in the league regardless. We then went on a 6 match winning streak in the league, which was impressive and of course made me suddenly believe mid table was realistic. We did have some stretches of poor form, most notably from February til end of season, where I caught up on getting some draws (something that was rare before that!), and unfortunately Mansfield got too far ahead to compete for automatic promotion.
We did also have a cup run to the 1st round of the FA Cup, where we lost 3-1 to Cambridge (away) and 1st Round of FA Trophy (0-2 Gateshead)
On the last day of the season, we still needed 1 point to guarantee playoffs, despite having been in the playoff places since the 3rd match of the season. We got that point we needed and that took us into the playoff semi finals.
Semi Playoff Leg 1 North Ferriby 0-2 Colwyn Bay (I honestly thought that would be that)
Semi Playoff Leg 2 Colwyn Bay 1-5 North Ferriby (Couldnt believe that result)
this lead me to Playoff Final against my bogey team of Droylseden.
All I can say is what a result! What a season! And already have 2 improvement players due in the second the window opens.
Aims for next season
Prune the squad, and streamline it to improve it for BSP
Get a more prolific strikeforce
Improve finances somehow, and hope for a good budget
Pray, pray and pray some more that I can avoid relegation

I hate this game sometimes. Challenging for 1st place in BSP for most of the season, but 4 postponed games over Christmas (which I have no control over) meant that I played 9 games in March, and 8 in April. That's over 1/3 of the season played in two months. Add to the fact that my best striker has a broken ankle, another has a broken leg. My CM broke his leg too, and 2 CMs missed over a month for some U19 competition. The whole team is just limping over the finish line, but I'll enter the play-offs with an exhausted team with no form. A summer of disappointment awaits, methinks.
Edit: Just beat top team 2-1 away from home. They've lost 3 on the trot now, and I'm 5 points away with a game in hand. Maybe all is not lost...

Yet to post but I'm doing this challenge. I've been promoted into League 1 with FC United of Manchester yet the club still isn't professional and nor can I ask to be professional because when I hover over greyed out option, it says about lack of finance....
Also anyone sign Jamil Adam? He just left me on a free (wanted stupid wages) ....he scored 170 goals in 152 games in 3 seasons for me. He was unbelievable.
But yeah, mainly the first question, why is this, anyone else suffered similar problem???
Surely should be a og but what a strike
