Bit of a pain about the Rimini colapse
Bit of a pain about the Rimini colapse
It was and I got the feeling it was then or a long wait and we were getting in debt more and more, alot of key players refusing to take pay cuts and wanted big raises so I thought it was time to go
Bury Finances
The Finances are not good. When I took over the wage budget was decreased the following day and we were over budget £5500 a week on wages alone.
The club is £1.58million in debt so the 1st plan is to try and help cut that. I would like to be in the black next summer.
The plan is to get rid of players I don't need then ask players that are staying to take a lower wage.
Then I'll be arranging so money spinning friendlies, For myself to progress I need to get this club on a stable footing again.
Update
Finances
Ive managed to clear loads of players and got some to drop wages so now we aren't over spending
Money Spinning Friendlies
We need money and we need it fast. I'm hoping these friendlies will bring us close to £700k
Favourites for relegation
No Massive expectations on my shoulders so hopefully we can tip the apple cart abit
Loan Signing
When I saw they had transfer listed him I just had too get him to Bury
Playing Squad
The last manager had overpaid for some utter rubbish so I cleared them all out. Some good youths that will be thrown in and I shall search the loan market. A keeper is priorty

Excellent run of form, creeping into the playoff places at the last minute. Good luck for the final![]()
Unfortunately after my last post I had to go to work a night shift, so the final will have to wait until I wake up tomorrow, my two strikers are injured so I dunno where goals will come from as 3rd and 4th choice haven't scored this season. But I'll give it a go. I'll update straight away after
Must be annoying having to wait for that moment.
Sure is delta but I'm up now so time to play![]()
2014/15 End of season review
Bury - League Two
Competitions
League Two - A Great season we performed beyond all expectations and heart break on the final day showed we weren't good enough realistically to go up but it gives us a great platform
Playoff Final - A Boring final which Dag & Red dominated, So close
Fa Cup - Out first round, would of liked a money spinning run but my squad was too small to cope.
Carling Cup - Same as Fa Cup
Johnston Paint Trophy - tried to go for this one, reached second round then out
Key Players
Filip Mentel - Played every game this season, Good Keeper but if want to be serious title challengers may need replacing
Adam Jackson - Intially Signed on loan, Made permenant in January for Free. Rock at the back
Romain Gasmi - My Star Player made the PFA team of the year. Broke the clubs asisst record.
Tony Watt - Top Scorer With 10. Not even goal but fingers crossed he can double that next season
Nacho Huertas - Loan Signing from Liverpool who played "in the hole" behind Watt and ran games. He was missed in Playoff Final.

Season Overview
An Remarkble season, We now have to kick on. The aim has to be promotion next season. I know where I need to improve so will be setting out straight away to reinforce my squad. Heartbreak on the final day has given me the movitation to do one better next season.
The day after the Playoff Final I Agreed a new 1 year deal.
You should be able to attract some good reinforcements.
That was the plan but the board cut the wage budget from 14k per week to 9.5k. So I'm having too get rid of high earners and I don't have the money to replace them. I'm searching the loan market for 4 players to replace them with no wages or fees
Good luck With Bury
If you do well it will feel even better that you're managing it with strict restrictions.
First time i've visited the Careers Forum and glad I did. A great read, looking forward to seeing where you go with this and also plan to try my hand at something similar if my laptop can handle it.

Signings
Denis - Loan Signing from Manchester City He's an AM that my scout said is better than Nachos Huertas who done amazing for us last season.
Leon Driscoll - Loan Signing from Wigan, Striker who has come in to challenge Tony Watt for the 1 striker spot.
Andrea Cominelli - Italian GK who i brought in to replace Mentel, He has an higher possible Potential and a third of the wages
Kyriakos Sokratous - My weakness last season was Left back so I'm hoping Kyriakos can fix it.

Pre-season Review
As I mentioned in a previous post my wage budget was cut and we are already in massive debt so this summer I cleared the squad of 8 players who I thought were overpaid and I had a youngster with potential to replace. Also Managed to sell Lennon and Mentel for abit of cash. I've brought in 2 loans and 2 permenant deals. The squad is down to its bare bones. Ive also loaned out 4 players who need games and I've managed to get all their wages paid aswell so that will certainly help. I would love to be fighting for promotion but I think due to a lack of money we will struggle. We will have to wait and see.
yeah the plan is to stay this season and try and get them up despite the boards best efforts to make it harder for me
Sounds reasonable
I think if an offer comes along I'll have to consider because Bury dont make enough money to get out of debt and thats gonna hold me back

We are enjoying cup runs but our league form is getting worse. we just dont have the depth in the squad but we need money from cup to survive as our debt is getting bigger.
Hoping for better so far I imagine.
I Decided to accept as they were seen as a bigger club than bury and 2nd favourites for the title. They are struggling at the moment but hopefully we can make a late run for playoffs
Good luck, not sure if I would of made that move though.
Hope it works out.
Good stuff so far. Think I would have been tempted to stick with Bury tbh. No cash for transfers and already above wage budget means it could be tough, especially as the defence looks like it needs some work. Good luck at Orient though

A slow start to leyton career but hoping the wycombe win is the turning point. The wage budget is 3 times bigger than burys so it gives me a chance to attract better players. we arent far after playoffs and I think if we can get a run going we can get in there.
Hopefully it will be. Doesn't look good to be below Bury.
Probably a good move. If you don't go up this season, you'll be one of the favourites next year![]()
thats the plan. all their players contracts end at the end of this season. so i will see who i wanna keep let rest go and then rebuild. 28k a week compared to burys 9.5k is massive
end of season review
I know I finished below Bury but I have £25k Per week free to bring in players over the summer. it will be a massive rebuild and I'm gonna tell the board I want the title. I felt the league was winnable at bury but when their debt held me back the offer from leyton was a chance to get out of this division
All the best at Orient mate - a good read and interesting career to date. I have subscribed to this thread.![]()
I am in utter shock
I recieved this:
my current budget was 28k per week
Players in this division ask for £1k a week on average
The only answer has to be
Im not jumping because it could be hard It will be impossible. Id have to cut my budget by £22k a week I had already signed players to replace the out of contracts and offered good wages.
In hindsight taking the Leyton job was probably a bad move as they were no better off than bury.
I just wanna find the right club![]()
Well I don't like to say I told you so.....but
All the best for your next challenge.
Well, you're out of the division. And actually Barney Butterball simply said that he wouldn't have made that move, not that it was a bad idea, which can be a different thing.
Yeah gotta find the right job now
TBH I would have jumped ship too. Can't compete at that level with no money for wages. Good luck with where ever you land next
Gear goes to Denmark!
Allerod Football Club - Relegation favourites, After my adventures so far I decided fresh start fresh country and have decided to take this job. Hopefully I can build my reputation here and maybe win some silverware.

Off too Romania for a new adventure. Hopefully I can build my reputation here
Nice to see a career with a bit of realism - success AND failure. Most career threads, however interesting, are just full of success. Keep up the good work!
Definitely looked lost in Denmark so I would have gone as well, see how Romania goes.
i'm guessing this up and down success, is due to you building your own tactics with individual clubs rather than downloading a 'buy success' sort of tactic, the only thread ive bookmarked as the realism is great, still feel you should have stayed at bury, nbut the lure of a chmpionship 15,000 seeter stadium must have been hard to turn down
Yeah when I take over a new club I pick a tactic I feel will best suit what we got rather than what I would like to play. Im enjoying the save, I would like abit of success at one club and maybe increase my rep so I can play a bit higher. Im glad others are enjoying reading it

Transfers Out
I made £1million here, two players I would have rather kept but with the club a million in debt it was a chance to bring to £0 was obviously the boards thinking when they accepted Murca. We have two youth players who could potentially be better anyway but are no-where near at the moment

Spent £22k on a centre back as we needed one. the other player was recommended as a replacement for my Attacking midfielder Kome who was meant to be leaving for £2million to Genk but it fell through. So now i have two lol
