Editor Problem. Please Help

Having finally installed the game through Steam i can't get editor to load. After i double click the icon the screen goes black, the ball icon come up and the goes back to my desktop with a error message 'the application Editor 2012 v 12 . 0 . 2 f 230667 quit unexpectedly'.

Any help would be great guys! This is ruining my weekend!

Have you downloaded the edtor through steam, on the tools menu

Yes. Game works fine it's just the editor!?

you haven't got them both running at the same time do you ?

no. i've tried re-installing it as well but i get the same problem.
