any news on the release date?
any news on the release date?
It's usually Novemberish
Will the Juve v Notts Co friendly be coded in. You could never arrange that fixture from the Notts Co side in game due to reputations but its "real life" so be good to see it in the game. Would probably lead me to trying a County save.
at least i will get the game early, the sisters fiance works in gamestation![]()
Manage Anywhere, Anytime – the ability to add or take away playable nations in your saved game as often as you want. Manage in that country at the start of the next season- meaning you don’t have to stay in the nations which are chosen by you to be playable at the start of your career.
---------------------------------
The most importnant feature that I am looking forward too. Will love teh ability to swap continents at ease once you have conquered one. I usually only have Europe and the Argentinian and Brazilian leagues selected as playable to save time.
Yeh going to make for a dynamic career. Might do a Wenger and manage over in Japan for a while. Do the old switcheroo then. Eventually I'd like to end up back in Europe with the familiarilty of it all, but the biggest stumbling block before was only being allowed a certain amount of leagues (due to computer being not good enough lol). This feature will definitely open up the world of Football Manager.

I also wrote thousands of words about FM12 for blogs. Now just need them approved, translated, screenshots taken, videos done & approved, which is all out of my hands. Hopefully they'll be able to start in a week or so.
Really looking forward to working out the tutoring system again.
all the new features look brilliant and will ad something extra. The only problem i have with FM is when you play as a wigan or swansea and lost against manchester united and the fans are concerned.
New game looks top notch
Regarding the demo, you used to be able to do one league, english, spanish etc, and then get to 6 months and it would stop, and then be able to carry on the save once you have the full game but be restricted to the quick start league you picked, my question is, will we be able to do that in FM 2012 and then carry on, and then be able to change leagues still?
Yeah, quick starts are just regular save games
I'm glad about improvements here, hope they work out as well as we all hope. I would love to see a transfer centre tab that shows something similar to this below. Would make deadline a bit more interesting I think:Transfers & Contracts – significant changes to the transfer and contract systems, including loyalty bonuses, better implementation of amateur and youth contracts, an improved transfer centre and the ability to lock areas of the contract negotiation when you aren't prepared to budge. This helps you to manage your budgets and gives you flexibility in what you offer money hungry players, or agents, as incentives.

When do you guys think we can expect news regarding a release date? A month before or something like that?
I'd say we'd get a release date around early October, demo might be out then too.
Hope the game is released around the end of october. Got a weeks holiday then.![]()
FWIW, FM '11 was released first week of November, and that date was announced in mid-September.
EDIT: And FM '10 was released at the end of October (right about Halloween)

Well I'm waiting to hear when it's out - then I'm taking 2 weeks off work.
i was hoping the goal celebrations might have been worked on a little instead of players just running then standing next to eachother, yeah its a little thing but im a perfectionist :-)
Also saw a listing for the 22nd of October, so presuming it will be within a couple of weeks of that.

The quality of the screenshots from the OP are pretty poor. http://www.footballmanager.com
Any larger screenshots?

I hope you added the posibility of organizing friendly matches in neutral grounds (This kind of matches only happen at the begining of a save, then only the World Cup and the continental cups, but those are not friendly). And...maybe it's not that important but, when a country is hosting an international tournament (World cup or continental cup) the team should be recognized as local, and not neutral like the other teams.
One thing i like to see implement is, on international management, you should be given the option to choose a pitch size for home games.
If they do anything with international management it should be able to assign preferences to what players you call up.
I.e., I can mark players with a "1" and the next international I'm asked if I want to call up those players.
Of course I'd have players marked in "2" also.
So if a player isn't available you can go to your number 2 choices and see.
Just make it easier.
I suspect that this will be possible, but the real limitation will be the starting database size. The demo comes with a very limited database IIRC, and as I understand the 'Manage Anytime Anywhere' feature, adding leagues will simulate player histories from the starting database. So adding if you add a new league, there would not likely be any real players but only fake players or regens.
The aspect of the game I'd like to see changed most would be really simple and would create a much better game for everyone;
Simply; add a box to the 'new game screen' that says something like "play with 'b' teams as 'reserve teams'", so basically the 'b teams' become reserve teams that you can control the squad & transfers & training etc.
Just so I can finally play a game in Spain. It's the best league in the world, but I can't use it on FM because of the stupidity of the 'b teams'... Now some people may like a management simulation where you don't actually manage all of you team, but not me.
That's how the Spanish league works. It's nothing to do with any "stupidity". Spanish managers don't control their B teams. That's how the league is structured.
Had someone explain it to me before, I'll see if I can find the thread.
Although I am waiting for FM12 to be released as soon as possible, I have to admit that I cant see the regular pre game hype that used to surround the forums in previous editions of the FM games...
That's cos I feel a lot of them are prima donnas that seem to think that SI or Sega owe them.
I'm excited about the game.
Any chance to have enhanced stadium ambiance with hymns and chants in FM12 ?
You can hum along yourself.
Any update to the regularity of team specific chants?
I'm guessing he means music that plays in certain stadia when the home team scores.

OTBC.
I would play FM just to hear this everytime I score as Norwich <3
Play.com are taking pre-orders and state the release date as 21st October.
I know there's nothing official, but they have picked this date based on something.
yeah its just a ploy to get you to part with your money quickly, they have no idea when it will come out, and when the date comes and goes they will fall back on blaming SI for pushing the date back, when in reality that date was never a release date at all, but no one will buy something when they have no idea what date they will receive it.
so no new officail announcements in nearly a month. is that a good or bad thing?
It's a normal thingwhen there's something to announce it'll be announced here first.
no need to pre-order when you use steam, otherwise being the fanboi i am i would have it pre-ordered alreadyhaha

Can i know what font it is?
I gotta start this post with I love the football Manager series since it first came out, This season I have been looking forward to it even more since Swansea have reached the premiership, but I really can't help being disappointed with the game, it just seems that they update the teams and give the press conference more options every year and every other thing seems irrelevant to the game, and its just put there to make it seem even more like a new game. I really hope that something new comes to this game to bring something fresh to the board because at the moment I can't help feeling that the game is getting very stale.
I would just like the ability to delete all scouts reports with one button, instead of having to do it individually. There are sometimes 20+ players scouted at one go!
Because of this waste of time I no longer use scouts to check other Divs., countries, etc. because it takes too long to delete the results. You can tell from the stars shown who you are interested in, the rest; one button delete please!
Something I would like is the player value having the ability to go higher than it is now, without buying them, it seems to be locked at £36m.
HMV says release date is the 28th of October. Probably just a guess, but they do have links with SI and FM.
also last year the websites tried to guess the release dates. i remember that a lot of them said 29 october, and then was 5th november. the period will be the same, not before 20th october, not later 15th november.
SI last year revealed the release date on 18th september. this year could be similar...
No new video or screenshots from FM 2012 ?
There is NO release date as yet, you'll hear it here first.
They don't have release dates for many unreleased games so I would be curious as to where this date has come from.
For example, the handheld version has no date.
I wonder if SI wil release a date for when they will reveal what the release date is.
I heard a rumour that they'll start a rumour based on total conjecture, (no date for that yet though)![]()
Theres is a rumor already about the starting date of that rumor!
Can anyone confirm if the bug where you get a new stadium and the following year the name has vanished from the game been fixed for FM12?
so any ETA on a demo?
The Match engine looks the same and all, but don't affect my passion for this brilliant game.
A few things i'd like to see put right....
1. Now there is just one award (fifa ballon d'or) rather than the old two awards (world player and world footballer which in real life would be the ballon d'or and fifa world player of the year) so i would like to see that in addition to adding awards like world manager, best goal (fifa puskas award). Perhaps also have available the option to view past winners of the awards no longer being used (seeing as it's one new award the past winners of the previous awards will disappear.)
2. The european awards (such as striker, goal keeper and so on) are awarded at the wrong time, these awards are essentially the uefa club awards given out during the champions league draw so i'd like to see that made accurate with the stats used i.e. the champions league only and the timing of the award to match that of the champions league draw (yes i've tried with the editor but it simply does not work).
3. Lower league awards, such as in the championship, don't have awards for young player and team of the year (that i've seen anyway). Tried to add them but again they won't work.
4. Placing of the away fans and perhaps even being able to choose what stadium model your team plays in.
5. The intelligence of the board. Examples being Arsenal and Man Utd. Every single game i have played, as soon as Wenger and Fergie retire it all goes down the tubes for both sides. Now don't get me wrong, Man Utd mid-table is nice but i'd rather be able to fight them down to the wire. The board make stupid, very stupid choices for manager. Man Utd hired Mike Phelan as manager after Fergie..... Good assistant manager no doubt but he sure as hell isn't good enough to manage Man Utd.
6. Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The two stand out players of our generation, notching 40 odd goals a season........ Never seen it happen in FM. I have no doubts that i could get 40-50 goals out of Messi and Ronaldo if they were in my team but they struggle to find 20 goals when left to the AI. I wanna see these two at their devastating best come FM12, have a real challenge knocking Barcelona off their perch!
That's all i have for now, no doubt i'll remember more to keep the Si bunch on their toes lol

During a 3d match:
crowds - tick
players - tick
refs - tick
benched players - tick
physios - tick
manager - ....?
Why is there no manager in the dugout?
It would be fun to see a manager shouting instructions during a game.
looking forward to the game as always
I asked for that last year, and the year before.
Am I the only one a bit disappointet at these changes? I'd at least like to see a major overhaul of the network - both online and offline - options. A lot of flaws/areas that needs to be looked at here.
So the game will be out on oct 21. not long to wait then just need to save up now.
It's brilliant the game is coming out this early.
Yeah I'm stoked that it's coming out on October 21!
Doubt i`ll buy it then though going on past releases which have been very buggy. might wait till christmas to get it.
Now we know the release date, do we know what the system requirements are
just seen new one on shopto for 19.85. its download only though but still cheapest so far.
I remember a few years ago when the release date was announced a few online shops offered some extras when preordering the game, is there such thing this year?
21st October good.
Now give us the demo to kill time![]()
'Ang on. SI haven't announced most of the changes yet. Be patient and wait for the blogs.
Well i have to say thanks si cause october is great. Last year it came out in november and that was annoying atleast this year it will come out during my half term.
i will buy this! the 3d mode looks much better!
That explains why you have to give the game 10 minutes of match time to make a substitution and can't change your mind before the sub has been executed even if the score has changed.... we're managing the game from outside of the stadium. We don't even realise the score has changed between issuing a sub request and the sub being made!
Probably won't happen, but since I *just* started a game, like three seasons ago, it would be majorly awesome if there was a save-game converter that allowed you to continue a game that you started in 2011. I know, there's a whole bunch of new features, but reputations, player stats, manager stats and so on haven't really changed all that much. I have no qualms if that came with some caveat, like "only a savegame that's saved with July 1st will be convertable"... or whatever.
Secondly: There will be a non-Steam-version again, I hope?
