How much does certain events affect the value of a player?

I'm playing in Russian division 1 (2nd tier) atm, and some of my players ar shifting a lot in value from season to season. One guy had a value of 650 000 euro but is now down to 250 000.

What increased and decreases the value of a player? Caps? CL-games?

I think that player value is related to reputation.

There as so many factors, contracts coming closer to expiration being the most obvious. Are most of your players decreasing or is it a mix? Also, often if you sign a player for much more than his value, his valuation will begin to level off back to it's original setting, especially if you pay a substantial amount (lets say 10 million GBP for a player rated at 4 million) when you are in a league that only has a 3-3.5 star reputation, as opposed to the leading 4-4.5 star leagues.

Well I have been up and down the russian division 2 and 1 (3rd and 2nd tier) now over 3 years so the values has been increased and decreased in a unlogical mix..

Is it documented how much u21, u19 and a-caps affect the value?

Player's value is a mixture of his reputation, contract length and contract value. Maybe even his club's and national team's reputation.
