As you can see there seems to be two backgrounds competing here, and I can't see half the buttions I should, like the FM button.

I'm on the steam version.

I restarted the game and it is allright this time. Probably something to do with steam update.

Honestly I don't know, I don't know the file, if loaded with the new database teams may have folded for example. The best thing to do is load the file and see and ask the creator if there are any issues.

Ok, normally i don't do this but in this case i have to say something.
This year editor was the worst editor SI ever launched without an apparent reason. It had and still has an huge list of bugs. Now this is supposed to be the last patch and most of the bugs would be fixed but instead of this we have this:

- Fixed added player awards not working properly if the "Position" field was left unset.
- Fixed some issues with promotions and relegations involving secondary regional competitions.
- Fixed an issue where the points for a team would go negative if they get more than 127.

This is not every fix that went into the editor, not all changes are in this list. There is a disclaimer in the change list stating this. Some of the fixes are also done in the game not the editor itself.

Steam version: Fired up the game, all backgrounds were gone (using BaseDark) -the background was white, the white font unreadable. I closed the game and tried to restart it via Steam, got the message 'please try again later'. I closed Steam and manually tried to open the game and I got a message saying 'not a Win32 application'.

Somehow managed to start the game while the patch was being downloaded (but it wasn't displayed in Steam). Anyway, after the patch was downloaded completely, everything is back to normal.

How long roughly until we can expect the direct download versions? TalkTalk's p2p throttling makes downloading torrents pointless. Lucky to get over 5kBps.

The non-steam version of the patch is downloading at 997kb/s... Fastest speed I have ever had downloading anything!

Not that it matters, but its intresting.

The reason for the different size is that the torrent is in an installer but the steam update is the update uncompressed.

This is the last update, barring any big bugs. Just load up the editor and do it yourself, will only take 5 minutes.

There won't be another official data update for FM11. If you have an issue with the Aberdeen data then please post constructively in the appropriate thread in the data forum. You can also use the editor that comes with the game and make the changes yourself.

The ifil transfer would probably have come too late, you have to also remember Milson was rotting in fulham reserves, whilst he has been ok for us there is no way for the aberdeen researcher to have known this before now.

Changes have been made which should help this.
It's also worth noting that the 'Past Experience' you set when adding a manager has quite a lot to do with this, this higher you set it the easier it will be to find a job

All our Patches are always save game compatible but you will need to start a new game for the new database and any competition changes. Thanks

Injuries that occurred prior to the season remain on all databases, and have always done so for our releases.

The ME seems a lot better, I just played a team who are 2 tiers lower and mid table and I won 7-0. Seems fairly realistic considering I won the top tier by 11 points last season

Are you referring to fees? Says quite near the bottom of the change list I thk about Agent fees being lowered at start of negotiations.

We always recommend starting a new game, however changes will take effect when continuing a save game

I hope that I am right in thinking that player attributes haven't been touched in the database update - just transfers. Cos I'm looking at the liverpool squad and players like Martin Kelly, Andy Carroll and Suso are woefully underestimated and still no Raheem Sterling.

Hopefully they'll be fixed for FM12 - guess I'll just have to do a little tweaking before I start a new game

I'm not sure which bug you are referring to. Before anyone asks, I can confirm 11.3 contains what we hope to be a permanent fix for the set piece resetting bug.

yes players have been updated, and Sterling wont be included until FM12 as he is not old enough for FM11

Yay lucky I left steam running while I was at work today, came home and its all patched up ready to play

Only downer is that the summer transfer window in my current save just ended before the new patch dl'ed and I wanted to put the new changes in the transfer system to the test. Looks like I'll have to wait till Jan as I don't want to start a new game just now

Raheem Sterling won't be in the game due to his age. If you disagree with the ratings of the other players (and they were all adjusted for this patch I believe) then feel free to raise it in the relevant data thread.
