    Default People who work for Si

    Hey all

    I have acquired a player called Vincenzo Rispoli, and back in FM 09 I acquired a player with the same name. Now, is anyone from SI this person, as last year I had a similar expierence with Neil Brock who does work for SI and was an all conquering beast of a striker. Anyone know if this is a coincidence or regen name templates or an actual SI worker.

    regards

    They're actual si workers, type faceinthegame in the player search box and you will get a whole bunch of them.

    As well as getting all the SI employees you'll get a bunch of other random players too.

    Including a German called Malte Bunjes. He turns up every game.

    He could be a researcher. I know that SI include researchers in the game.

    Possibly... but he's always a regen. I don't think he is there right at the beginning.

    edit: just searched faceinthegame and found that one of my players, an Irish regen called Bernard Brennan, is in the distinguished club too.

    Yeah, not all SI employees come in to the game from the start and most of them are regens that appear gradually in the game. There is a thread in the GD somewhere. I will try to find it and see if anyone has found him in game.

    Thats awesome.

    I did not know of this.

    A quick search though, and it's thrown up a couple of names I recognise from previous games - Glenn Stiemens and Roberto Gondola.

    Hmm... puzzled over Iranian Bardi Golriz. The Iranian league doesn't come with the game, so why would there be an Iranian employee of SI?

    I think they are given random nationalities .

    Edit: Bardi Golriz is an employee of SI. I have also found a few researchers in my game. Philip Rolfe seems to be the main SI employee in my games.

    Stiemens is an SI employee, I don't know about Gondola but he sounds like a researcher or a translator.

    I'm fairly sure Golriz is an SI employee, but not certain. Regardless, SI don;t care what nationality you are when they hire you, because that's illegal , and they research leagues that are not in the game. He could even potentially be the Arabic translator, if Arabic is in the game as a language.

    Nationalities or at least second nationalities, as well as favourite clubs and clubs they are likely to come through at, are pre-defined. You'll notice Craig Hunter plays for Rangers quite a bit and is Scottish, Phillip Rolfe often shows up at Chelsea, I've seen Glenn Stiemens at Reading twice...

    By the same token, they don't speak Welsh in Wales. Arabic is spoken, and moreover read, in Iran, it just isn't the main language.

    Wouldn't it then make much more sense to hire an Arabic translator from an Arab country? There are plenty to choose from - everywhere between Mauritania and Iraq except for Israel has a 50% plus knowledge of Arabic...

    It might be less likely to find an Iranian who knows enough Arabic to translate from English to it, but it is still perfectly possible. Given that we were only talking about a hypothetical situation, I don't see why you're making that point...

    Just about to roll over into the year 2020 in my game in Portugal, and thought I'd share my faceinthegame with you all:

    Quite pleased to see Marc Duffy in there, although I'm not sure any of the others are particularly prominent employees at SI

    Svein Kvernoey was a black striker I had in FM09, his goals got my Swindon team into the premier league and, eventually, to the PL title. He was also my captain... let him go to Leeds after about 5 or 6 seasons as he was no longer good enough for the team I built around him where he also became their captain.

    Looked this year and he's a blonde haired white guy who plays left wing (or he was on the save I looked for him) - also didn't know he was a SI staffer.. he likes Leeds, I don't like him

    Oh for what it's worth, all player skills are completely random for SI employees, it's just like any other 'generated' name in the database, only difference is ours has date of birth (day/month) and favourite team.

    he was a brunette white striker for me, so then positions are always different? wonder what he's like in my current game...

    EDIT: he's a right-back, looks the same but terribly awful

    why would you want to turn it off? Unless you went looking for names there would be no difference at all to the game running without them.

    No, there isn't. At least not with standard settings - there's probably some file in the db folders you could edit to get rid of it.

    Not sure why you would want to though, as it doesn't take anything away from the game.

    Out of curiosity, has anyone seen Miles come through in game, or is he not included as a faceinthegame?

    Just to note that these newgens are just regular newgens created in the game but instead of getting a random name, they are given a name chosen from a pool of names set in the config files with the "FUTURE_REGEN" option. It was expanded lately (for FM10 or FM11, can't recall 100% right now) so you could also define some other basic data for these newgens other than just the name and favourite team. It's a nice easter egg type of thing and doesn't affect the game itself as these are treated just the same as any other newgens (apart from a few selected SI names giving a specific scouting report as some have noted above).

    Riz, I'd be interested to know what extra data can be configured for future regens. Would this work with a standard config file with the "FUTURE_REGEN" command if created by a user? If so, would you be able to let us know the commands for the extra data? Thanks.

    will these players only appear once in the game, and are they set to not retire until they are older? I have seen one of you guys now unemployed for 3 seasons but still in the game, i would have thought a normal regen would have retired by then?

    YES!!!! I would love to add myself and some mates but not assign them teams, just have them coming through at random teams anywhere.

    For those asking how to do it themselves:
    http://www.footballmanagerwiki.co.uk....php?title=EDT

    Note: Any players you add in through the FUTURE_REGEN system will also show up on a faceinthegame search

    I had Glen Tooke in my team, but he's rubbish and got released on a free pretty pretty sharpish.

    If I remember correctly, and I'm sure Riz can correct me but we had to give them our Name, Date of Birth (Day and Month only) and favourite club. Would be good if they managed to change this to allow position as well

    The data for the "FUTURE_REGEN" command can be found in that link posted above, but there is another command for "DETAILED_FUTURE_REGEN" with some extra fields for more detail.

    EDIT: Here's the usage:
    "DETAILED_FUTURE_REGEN" "First Name" "Common Name" "Last Name" "Birth date(dd/mm/yyyy)" "Nation (first nationality)" "Favourite Team" "Ethnicity" "Skin Tone" "Hair Colour" "Height (in cm)" "Weight (in kg)" "Preferred Foot" "Preferred Position" "Favourite Number" "Birth City"

    Everything else should be self-explanatory, but here are the values that can be used for Ethnicity, Skin Tone, Hair Colour, Preferred Foot and Position:

    Ethnicity:
    Unknown/random = -1
    Northern europe = 0
    Mediterrean/hispanic = 1
    North african/middle eastern = 2,
    African/caribbean = 3,
    Asian = 4,
    South east asian = 5,
    Pacific islander = 6,
    Native american = 7,
    Native australian = 8,
    Mixed race white/black = 9
    East asian = 10

    Skin tone:
    a value of 1-20, with 1 being the lightest and 20 being the darkest

    Hair colour:
    Unknown/random = 0,
    Blond = 1,
    Light brown = 2,
    Dark brown = 3,
    Red = 4,
    Black = 5,
    Grey = 6,
    Bald = 7

    Preferred foot:
    Right only = 0,
    Left only = 1,
    Right preferred = 2,
    Left preferred = 3,
    Both = 4

    Positions:
    GOALKEEPER, DEFENDER_LEFT_SIDE, DEFENDER_RIGHT_SIDE, DEFENDER_CENTRAL, MIDFIELDER_LEFT_SIDE, MIDFIELDER_RIGHT_SIDE, MIDFIELDER_CENTRAL, ATTACKING_MIDFIELDER_LEFT_SIDE, ATTACKING_MIDFIELDER_RIGHT_SIDE, ATTACKING_MIDFIELDER_CENTRAL, ATTACKER_CENTRAL

    I know ATW. I'm in too - look out for a regen with St. Albans City as his favourite club! I'm always rubbish too!

    I was just wondering what the extra added fields were.

    I've been in the game for a while now, but I'm always rubbish.

    At least I haven't seen myself like Ter just has and playing for a rivals youth team.

    I know that but there's a massive list, 95% of which probably never post in this forum, I don't see the point in saying this guy is great etc when he probably won't read it

    There is indeed a list of them - it's the credits of the game

    In terms of finding out who they are on the forum? Probably not gonna get a full list, unfortunately, because I can imagine it would take more time for someone to do than it would be worth (would love it if someone proves me wrong though)

    @Riz - I love you! That detailed regen option is amazing - I've been putting myself in as a future regen ever since the capability was introduced and the ability to actually give myself the correct ethnicity and hair colour is something that I've severely regretted not being able to do

    Yes, I was indeed!

    I pretty much always sign 'me' but I'm usually awful and I end up in the reserves being loaned out to anyone who will take me.

    The "DETAILED_FUTURE_REGEN" support in the EDT files was added for FM11. I believe the original feature request was made because Gudge's future regen always showed up as having hair and it just wasn't right that way

    Riz, thanks a lot for the future regen info. I'm having one problem though, no matter which year I set as their date of birth, they show up at the start the of the game as 15 or 16 year olds. I followed your instructions, so I don't know what's wrong?

    That's because they usually come up as regens (i.e. new youth players). They'll use the DoB that you have set but not the year.

    Thanks, great info!

    I have two questions though...
    1. Is it possible to use unique ids in "nation", "favourite team", "country", "birth city" etc.?
    2. Empty values for, let's say, position means random?

    Yep. In most cases the birth year cannot be used as it does not match the age of the newgen, so only the day and month are used then.

    Right the names are(although I'm not sure they work for SI. They are in the faceinthegame thing. So must do).

    Philip Sly
    Nick Morgan
    Ian Leather
    Carl Francis
    Marc Robinson
    Rhys Guard
    Adam Squire
    Gareth Swattridge
    David Cartledge

    That's all of them from the Welsh Clubs. Like I said I haven't seen any of them mentioned before. So maybe they do, maybe they don't. But that's what comes up.

    Those will most likely be teams with very few players so some are added at game start to make up the numbers.

    I don't think you put the parts like 'skin tone' or 'favourite club' in as well. Just put the setting in.

    Also, check the proper club name on the database.

    It knows what fields to expect with that particular command.

    There is an example of a normal regen command there. Apply the same principles to the above and you'll be good to go for it.
