Is there some rule in the SPL that stops some clubs getting into the top6 of is it some kind of glitch. I have only noticed that these teams have less than 10,000 capacity stadium but it being the PSP version there is no way to expand.

no but there is a split in the league near the end of the season, the top 6 play each other and the bottom 6 play each other, its a bit of a daft rule to be honest because you can end up with the club in 7th with more points than the club in 6th.
