Club Information:

Iceland was chosen by one of my friends, I told him to pick me a hard nation to manage in and he did.

KFK

The club has a 2500 capacity stadium, of which 1500 is seated with a roof and synthetic grass. There are currently 62 season ticket holders. It also has a 'fairly basic' training set up, 'minimal' youth facilities and a limited youth recruitment. It's basically a clean slate.

KFK Overview:

The team isn't too bad, a few players who should make a good impact in the league. The club were expected to finish 6th but find themselves in 3rd as I join them in July. They have been knocked out of the Icelandic Cup but that is no real big deal.

I think that the first few games will give me some understanding of the level of football in Iceland and we shall see how it goes!

Its FM11 :)

I have loaded all of the major nations but put them to view only so I am forced to make another nation rise to fame :)

I have had a 2-0 win in my first match which was nice, the standard is about tier 8 English standard so not great.

You certainly are courageous for braving the arctic elements! Do they have a winter break in Iceland? That's one thing that has always put me off from saves in colder countries, because of the fixture congestion caused either side of the break and the extra friendlies needed to bring the team back to match fitness. And my star players always got injured in those friendlies.

Good luck anyway!

We currently there's 6 teams in my league, I play once a month, at a push every 2 weeks. So there's not many fixtures. Iceland only has 370k odd people according to the game!

I am trying to arrange friendlies to keep my squad fit during the season!

@deadfncat no I didn't, I brought it off steam today (25% off :D)

What can you do with only 6 teams in a league?

I am one of only 2 semi-pro teams in my league, the rest are amateur but at this level it really doesn't matter THAT much. On the plus side it means when I'm in the top leagues I stand a chance of competing in Europe as I won't have a match every 3 days :)

And thanks ;) got it signed at Redfest ;) and I have my signed Shikari poster now, and a flyer from the tour I went to :D

I'm using a DB edit, so I have 4 tiers, all realistic.

There is: Premier League, First Division, Second Division, Third Division which has 4 Regional Parts :)

I started in the Third Division, normally there is only the Premier League. I think..

Season 1 Revue - Deild Karla B Rioill:

Finances

The finances are not looking too healthy, the players are on a maximum of £45 per week, most below £10 a week but I am still losing a lot of money. I just hope my board can help me with it!

Transfers

These are my transfers for the season. All of the players out on frees were reserves who were eating my wage budget so I got rid of.

Results

Here are my results. I joined after the first Berserkir match, as you can see we had quite a good second half of the season, we would have won if both halves had been the same. The league table shows how close it was in the end. It does also show that there are basically two different leagues, the title challengers and those who can't.

Key Players

1. Beitir Olafsson. My man between the sticks, 10 games played, 4 Clean Sheets and 6 conceded, much more needed to be said?

2. Hobour J Guomundsson. My poacher up front, not the greatest striker in the world but he does his job well, 7 in 12 matches is good enough to get him a place.

3. Porhallur Siggeirsson. One of my towering defenders, 2 Man of the Match awards and a goal get him a place in the top three.

If you want any more screenshots then just ask me.

Premier League has 12 teams in it, so 20 fixtures a year!

The league will be the same teams next year as the top team didn't win the Promotion play off so I stand a good chance. My 4-1-2-3 works well at home (I haven't conceded!) But I don't yet have a good away tactic, I was thinking about maybe a 5-3-2 what do you think?

20 games? whoah! :D it must be hard to keep cash coming in if you dont play many games :\

keep it tight at the back and you should be ok. make sure the team talks are good when you are away and yell at complacent players etc. your goalie seems pretty good, maybe get a new defender or two to stick with him if you still leak goals?

I have only lost 1 game with the team, that was the last one of the season away to the league leaders.. I was 7-2 outsiders and expected to finish 5th or 6th.. So I thought I did a good job :D

I think that with DLR it will mean that my prices will go super high and I can cope, and Champions League runs will be the most important thing for me. Get to the last 32 and you get £25.9m!!!

Season 2 Preview - Deild Karla B Rioill:

Finances

The finances are not looking too healthy still but they should start improving if my results stay as they are! I now have a higher wage budget, £110 per week and I have released two players who were sucking huge wages for no pay back.

Transfers

These are my transfers during the off season. I am currently loaning a lot of First Division reserve players in order to make my team able to compete with the top teams in my league. The two players I got rid of were on £45 per week and £50 a week and wanted more while only being rated a 1/2 star!

Season Expectations

The board let me choose this season what I wanted to achieve and I choose Title Challenger. This was a bit bold as I later found out that one of the relegated teams has joined my group and should, in theory, walk the group. Still with my new players I should stand a fighting chance of competing. However this view isn't held by the media who rate me at 500-1 outsiders I will try and prove them wrong though, my aim is 3rd or above this season.

Season 2 January February and March Update - Deild Karla B Rioill:

For some reason the Icelandic leagues have a 3 month pre season. Therefore I set out making some serious cash! Due to our low gate price I played all but 2 of our friendlies away from home, I was charging all of the teams I was visiting at least £7k a game so it's a nice little money maker so bare that in mind.

The results speak for themselves, we had a very impressive pre season! The other result was a 3-0 win against Afrika that for some reason is on last years fixtures. The highlight has to be the 4-2 win against Hottur who are a division above us. The low point was the 2-1 loss against Afrika. With 2 draws and 1 defeat and the rest victories I am quite happy in the direction we are heading.

As for helping the finances you can see that it did a wonderful job and should hopefully pay for most of this season!

It should have really been a draw, maybe me edging it. They scored two quite lucky goals and I had far more shots..

I just lost in the cup as well but the team was 2 teirs above me and I took them to extra time :D

lmao yea, as long as you can wear a kit and run on a pitch for 90mins, your in the team!

gonna have to stick with this dodgey team for a while, pretty sure my local team featherstone colliery would even compete in this league :D

do you press alot then in your tactics if the passing is awful? must be alot of mistakes :/

Season 2 June Half Season Update - Deild Karla B Rioill:

I have so far played 6 games this season and these are the results.

The Iclenadic FA Cup didn't last long for us, we had First Division Prottur, we put up a good fight with the score at 1-1 after 90 minutes. However our poor fitness showed and they got the one goal they needed in extra time to send us out.

As you can see the league is going quite well, I was disappointed with our home defeat but other than that we have been doing rather well!

As for helping the finances you can see that it did a wonderful job and should hopefully pay for most of this season! In the league table we are two points clear at the top which is nice, we are predicted to finish 4th but I knew the squad could do much better as they are showing.

In term of transfers most of our squad is made up of loaned players but it seems to be working well and hopefully I can get some of them to keep if I can get promotion.
