Kees04
Hey, Inspiried by Laura1985's "Birth of a Nation II" thread I decided to create a new Nation with new teams, competition's, the lot. This time it is based on Space. The nation is called Galactica, with the nationality of Galactican. The main language spoken in Galactica is USA. The teams in Galactica compete in the 3 main divisions, the Viper, Raider & Colonial Divisions. The 2 cup competitions are called the University Cup & the Galaxy Cup. Each teams money varies on their rep and league they play in. I plan to continue to do updates and changes to the database as I go along, mainly to get the regens names sorted to Galactian names like Iota Aquarii or Helix Ursae Majoris. So here it is. Kees04
Fudger, It's a long winded process. I need to re-name LOADS of players who have Northern Irish names, as the game gets the regen names from these. Also I'm going to create a load of players with the correct nanmes so more have them. I have no idea about how long it will take to do, not 100% sure how many players are Northern Irish in the game.
Fudger
Ok. Well what im going to do, is install the database, and Holiday for a few years, ill post up my updates every season. That saves you having to do it. Thats if you dont mind. That way we can test it out.
Fudger
Ok, ive downloaded it, placed it in the 'db' folder in My Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2008 etc. But when I load up FM08, there is no option to use it so it uses the Default database... Ive tried putting it in Program Folders/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2008/db same thing. The weird thing was I went into Editor, and clicked load and it was there to select, but once I clicked it, I got an error message: 'Cannot load database' Any ideas? Kees04
Fudger, Glad you like it and got it working. Please do the updates as that will be cool and it's another persons point of view on it. Yeah I forgot to mention in my original post that's it at patch 8.0.1. Also if you find anything wrong with it then please let me know, and I'll mess around til it's fixed I'd be Galonia out of them two, but personally I'll start with either Titan, Jupiter Town or even try to get NASA up a few divisions

DS
Wont it be a problem that the teams will get very low prize money since they are in north ireland league?
Fudger
Ive found one problem so far. In my first season, In the Semi-Finals of the Galaxy Cup, all my players were out on International so a team full of youth was fielded and we lost drastically. Ill post the updates of the first two season later today, but so far thats the only fault. Oh, and also, when a new game is started clubs have a big transfer budget and a wage budget of £2-5K then when you make an offer for someone like Lionel Messi, it goes upto £1.7M... othetr than them, its great!
Kees04
The wage budget is a thing I knew about and was trying to figure out how to sort it. So your saying when you offer for a 'massive' player it sorts itself out? Does it stay that way? That's a result The prize money is a problem, to combat this I have given teams big stadiums with the ability to expand further, and I've added the ticket prices in too so you get really good gate receipts. Also they can get the european cash.
Fudger
Yes, once it goes up to 1.7M, it stays there and works its way down lol. I guess it starts the game with the original clubs Wage budget then when you offer for a 'big' player, it goes to the right, set amount... Very strange. Anyway, Update coming soon xD
Fudger
Galactican Viper Divsion Many suprises in my opinion. For one, the expected favourites, in my opinion, Titan, were a big flop even though spending a huge amount of money on transfers spending an amazing £98M on six new stars, and I mean STARS! Ventuas were the second highest spending club slpashing out on six players, tallying up to £79M spent! They brought in the likes of Stewart Downing, Gareth Bale, Ashley Young and more. One thing that really caught my eye, is wuithin the spending, many, like 90% of the clubs, all bought English or British Isles nationality players. Very interesting. Andromeda got in the record books for most successive wins which was a rather low 5. Quite a disappointing season, but things surely can only get better? Team to watch next season The team to keep an eye out for next season has to be Titan City. After spending a hell of a lot this season, and letting them have time to gel, then more than likely spending the same amount or more next season, they will be near unstoppable. Oh and also, keep a look out for promotioners Almathea, they have spent a bit too! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | Pos | Inf | Team | | Pld | Won | Drn | Lst | For | Ag | G.D. | Pts | | -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | 1st | ECC | Cosmos | | 30 | 17 | 7 | 6 | 50 | 27 | +23 | 58 | | -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | 2nd | EC | Sedna | | 30 | 16 | 9 | 5 | 41 | 21 | +20 | 57 | | -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | 3rd | EV | Ceres | | 30 | 13 | 10 | 7 | 42 | 29 | +13 | 49 | | -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | 4th | | Ventuas | | 30 | 14 | 6 | 10 | 44 | 41 | +3 | 48 | | -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | 5th | | Neptune Utd | | 30 | 12 | 11 | 7 | 42 | 31 | +11 | 47 | | -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | 6th | EC | Andromeda | | 30 | 13 | 6 | 11 | 38 | 38 | +0 | 45 | | -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | 7th | | Titan | | 30 | 12 | 8 | 10 | 43 | 39 | +4 | 44 | | -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | 8th | | Galonia Utd | | 30 | 12 | 8 | 10 | 36 | 34 | +2 | 44 | | -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | 9th | | Universum | | 30 | 12 | 6 | 12 | 39 | 43 | +9 | 42 | | -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | 10th | | Asteroidius | | 30 | 9 | 14 | 7 | 42 | 43 | +10 | 41 | | -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | 11th | | Eris | | 30 | 11 | 6 | 13 | 38 | 39 | -12 | 39 | | -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | 12th | | Mercury Galaxy | | 30 | 8 | 8 | 14 | 30 | 32 | -18 | 32 | | -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | 13th | | Halley's | | 30 | 9 | 4 | 17 | 36 | 36 | -17 | 31 | | -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | 14th | | Nebula | | 30 | 7 | 9 | 14 | 32 | 44 | -12 | 30 | | -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | 15th | | Astromony | | 30 | 5 | 11 | 14 | 30 | 39 | -9 | 26 | | -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | 16th | R | Jupiter | | 30 | 4 | 9 | 17 | 24 | 51 | -27 | 21 | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| Galactican Raider & Colonel Divsions Im not going to really put much about these leagues for this update, for one I dont have time, and two they are the two low leagues so to speak. Though below, I have attached two links to the league standings. Amalthea, no suprises seeing as they did the somewhat double, came out victorious, and quite frankly led the league from the off before a drop at the end to win them it by a point over Triton. In Colonial, Neptune Galaxy, Neptune United's counterparts (HORRAY!), absolutely dominated this league and won it by a 15 point margin. One to watch for next season! Galactican Raider Divsion Standings - 2007/2008 Galactican Colonial Division Standings - 2007/2008 Galactica International Team It was a poor year for the international losing all but one, which they drew, of their games. DS
The international team is going to play like North Ireland even if its team is full of 200 CA players. Only way around this is for the matches to be played in full detail and that means you need to manage the NT or watch the matches. However maybe the increased reputation stops this and the matches are instead determined by the reputation.

Uhm, time to try someone different lmao. Its the lack of transfers being made by several of the other clubs. Kees04
Very surprised with the managers.......wasn't expecting that. Yeah I thought people would be able to win things in the first season, it's more about waiting a few years for teams to sign a decent amount of players and develope those youngsters you mentioned. Fudger
Ok, this Wage Budget Big has become more serious. After doing some research into it, the AI controlled teams in Galactica are running off a silly wage budget but a huge transfer budget. This is why most clubs are making little or no transfers. I have only just figuered out how to get the real one, but it still doesnt seem right. Titan, was the biggest reputation, does not get that much of a wage budget even after requesting more funds. -- To get more of a wage budget -- You have to request it from the board. I had a bit more research and decided the only way to figure this out was to download FMM and see ours compared to AI controlled teams' Wage Budgets. And after doing it once requesting more, once not requesting and keeping the basic 1-10K wage budget, I noticed that all the AI teams were running off 1-10K wage budget. This would obviously restrict their spending. Im not sure how this can be reveresed though... Did you put wage buidgets it when you created the teams? Get back to me... Away from that, ive decided to holiday all night and im now into 2014, im going to carry on doing this until im near 2030 and then do one big update covering all the years xD Fudger
DS
The wage budget problem occurs because the teams only have 4 players so I guess the game looks at it like how much salary they are currently spending and then bases how much wage budget the teams get on that.
