Thanks AK. Brooks always seems to have a great season.
What is this I don't even.
Just don't ask SnakeXe.He seems to have a vendetta against Nobby,Nep and now JackJCFC from what I've seen this afternoon.
I just couldn't figure out the grammar to even understand what the rant was...
Cut out the crap guys.![]()
I presume there is a post deleted from that person who had a rant in Nep's thread that he gravedug?
Better off I don't know what he said I feel.
Yes, that's the general impression I get of his posting if it is the person I am thinking of.
Anyway, enough of that. On with the thread... when it becomes time to update again.![]()

It's where it goes horribly, horribly wrong
Board: Respectable league position
Media: 11th
Bookies: 25-1
Season tickets: 1264 (up 5)
After last season, Paul Gallagher gets appointed as my new Assistant Manager.
A new kit sponsor is signed for the next three seasons worth £96,540 per season (up £18,120)
I also smash my record signing, splashing out half a million on the young and gigantic Jason Gray from Coventry, who starred on loan at Conference North outfit Nuneaton last season and came highly recommended by my scout.
We lose our first three games before we start playing some decent football.
That doesn't last though as we go on another losing run and sink to the bottom.
By half way we are still in the bottom four and face a long, hard battle.
My 1200th game in charge was a 3-2 win over Brentford in front of only 3329 fans which lifts us off the bottom of the table.
With then games left we are bottom again and nine points from safety.
With three games left we are relegated.
Edit: Damn, I missed the top off instead of the bottom. Bradford City won the league with Leyton Orient second.

I expect a lot of dodgy refereeing decisions went against you this season.
Boooo.
Next season's a crucial one I think - if you can recover your momentum and bounce straight back up it could be a good thing for the club. Seems like things just got a bit stale, perhaps relegation is the shakeup you need.
Tough beat in taking a relegation hit, but hopefully you can hold onto players and bounce immediately back.
I lost three players of note, two through choice and one who left on a Bosman. Got rid of a couple of other fringe players too. I still got the core with a couple of others added too. A couple of other former fringe players have stepped up in the early weeks of the season. I'll report at the end of the season how it all goes.
Ouch. Must be frustrating to have such a long term career then find yourself going a step back the ranks. Time to test your side's bouncebackability.
Tough luck with the relegation- you should be more than handy in League Two though.
What do you think of your chances of coming straight back up, Nobby? What sort of shape is the squad in and will you have to lose a few players?

I sign a one year contract extension (two years left on contract) on £850 per week (down £250).
A decent start is spoiled by a home defeat to Gateshead but it's only a blip as we chase free scoring Oxford United (who scored 24 in their opening 5 games). A win at Oxford puts us top after 13 games.
Come halfway and it's a two horse race as Oxford and ourselves break 50 points.
In the new year I sign another new contract on the same wage, but for a further two and a half years to 2037.
Revenge at Gateshead (4-0) puts us 7 points clear of Oxford and a massive 21 of 4th placed Doncaster with 17 games to play.
A 4-1 win against Oxford all but seals it in early March. Promotion is sealed with 8 games to play and the title with 3 to play.
Our only other defeat all season came at Wrexham.

24. Rochdale 33 points

Well done for bouncing back Nobby and congratulations on such a dominant league campaign.![]()
An immediate promotion was exactly what you needed. The longer you lingered around League Two, the more difficult you'd find it to get back into League One. Now to push on and get back to where you were 7 years ago.
Smashed it! good luck in League one i hope you consolidate and move onwards and upwards!
Nice work bouncing back at the first attempt.
Thank you chaps.
The only downside to such a dominating campaign, bigger clubs are sniffing around half of my players. How next season goes depends on how many we can keep.
There's more sniffing going on than a pack of dogs on a hunt.
Well done on getting back to League One!
Thanks AK.
Things are moving a little slower now as I have started a new job recently which sees me working more hours. I am still playing now and again though.
Well, hopefully I'll soon win the lottery and then I can have more golfing and FM time...

2033/34 - Newcastle Town (League One)
It's where we repeat what happened before
Board: Mid table (increased from avoid relegation)
Media: 20th
Bookies: 25-1
Season tickets: 1371 (up 297) £443,395
Club value: £1,200,000
Jason Gray is sold by my chairman to Swindon Town for £750,000
We enjoy a decent start, though not as good as Chesterfield who win their first eight games.
A 7-1 thumping of Bradford City in October shows we are contenders. Eight players are named in team of the week on the back of that game!
A 4-0 win in heavy snow at Reading in early December gives me great hope and some expectation.
The board then sell Trevor Shaw to Charlton for £400,000 in January. Luke Elford and Adam Taylor agree Bosman moves. Three quarters of my first choice back four will have left before next season. Some serious rebuilding is required. Also, backup Leon McCoy will retire.
We maintain our form and look good for the playoffs.
However a shaky finish, only one point from our final three games see us miss out.

What I love about this thread is that I can miss it for 3 months then not take long to catch up.
Great job back up on League 1 nearly making the playoffs. Surely reaching them, and promotion to the Championship, won't be too far off in the future.
Good position in League One. Just noticed you had a player named Luke Elford...caught my eye cause I was in school for grades 1-12 with a guy with the same name! Never seen that happen before![]()
Unlucky to miss out on the playoffs, Nobby. Are you going to be getting FM13? Or carrying on with this?
Thanks AK.
I'm getting FM13 for the classic mode as it's rare I get a long session these days. I tend to get one a week, two if I'm lucky. When I get 2+ hours available it's this time I play FM. I'm getting FM13 for the classic mode to allow me to play a career with the much faster play and will use smaller amounts of available time to play classic. So this save will keep going for a while, at a similar pace it is now alongside one on FM13 classic.
Unless I win the lottery when everything will change.

Nice season, Nobby. Shame to miss out on the play-offs but still you must be pleased with such a strong season back in League One.
Yeah, I was chuffed. I raised the board expectation (which I rarely do) and exceeded what I raised it to. Well chuffed.![]()

We enjoy a very good start, unbeaten in the first eight games.
October was poor though and November and December were little better.
In the New Year, things picked back up again. We maintain consistent form and challenge for the playoffs.
The playoffs are secured with one to go, but a win in our last game would see us promoted depending on Ipswich and Chesterfield's results. In injury time, we have a throw in, and the result is a shot narrowly over the bar. As it was, Ipswich got a point anyway and had we scored from the throw in, we would have missed out by one goal.
In the playoffs, we play Blackpool in the semi finals. A draw at Bloomfield Road sets us up in front of a capacity crowd at Newcastle Town Stadium. Nathan Hart is sent off for two yellows and then Daniel McKenzie gets injured with us using all three subs, leaving us to play extra time with only nine men. Not only do we keep Blackpool at bay, we nearly score ourselves but the penalty shoot out comes. We score once and miss out in playoffs again. Bugger.

Oh dear, that's gutting, I hate losing promotion playoffs, makes things a hell of a lot sweeter when you do manage to go up though. It was a great season though, another step forward.
With every passing season this becomes more and more an epic story, you should play this until you win the Champions League, may take you until FM16 is released though.![]()
Gary Neville, England manager!
Penalty shootouts suck. Bad luck![]()
Unlucky on not going up Nobby.
Thanks Daz. It was rather gutting.
Merry Christmas everybody.![]()
