Optimisation Of Game Performance

Maybe this is the wrong section or question to ask but my question is I am running Football Manager 2011 on a 2ghz dual core processor on Windows Vista, Could anyone advise which is the best way to optimise my Laptops performance I have heard about Game Booster.

yeah,i use gamebooster and also after booting up fm11 i run the fm.exe in task manager on high priority,good improvement for me.

Turn off all background programs and customize Vista for "best performance". Setting fm.exe to high priority is risky but might be worth it.

Turn off all power saving things, or play with the AC connected.

i have always set priority high on the fm games with no probs at all.

I would also recommend the following:

* Change from Vista Display theme to "Windows Classic"

* Ensuring your Anti-Virus Software excludes FM folders

What's GameBooster? I mean, I can guess from the name what the purpose is, but what exactly does it do, and how?

I found gamebooster did the opposite especially in match where it would make it all jittery! When I turned it off the problem went!

Funny that because mine started going a bit jittery might after try turning that feature off
