You have scored a goal in CL, and that should be the first target. The next is to get a point, and finally a win.

Hope you win the league so you get a shot at CL next year as well.

Yer my team seem to be doing well in the league despite struggling badly in the Champions League.

Yer it's going to take a while before we are able to compete with the teams in the Champions League group stages.

However, the most impressive aspect of this story is the achievement. You have won the league, got into the Champions League and won the Cup with a team predicted bottom of the bottom league, using only youth players. Wow.

Top work, I cannot wait to read more!

Thanks and good luck with your challenge

After getting a win its to get 3rd place, then to qualify for the Champions League knockouts and eventually to win the group but all of those are a long way off

    League: Tord 4-2 Syrianska FC
With our ambition to retain the title hanging by a thread now was not a good time to concede twice in the opening half an hour. But amazingly that managed to kickstart us into action. Albin Carlsson (YP55) scored twice while Viktor Andersson (YP53) and Peter Jansson (YP33) also got on the scoresheet. Malmo also won but this result made sure the title would go down to the last day. AIK drew which sent them out of the race and completed their end of season collapse.

Champions League Group G: Napoli 5-1 Tord
Surprisingly enough we didn't actually play too badly but Napoli's superior finishing really set us apart. Hakan Neilsen (YP47) scored our goal which is the least we deserve.

    League: Tord 2-1 Syrianska Kerburan
Due to Malmo's better goal difference we needed a win to claim the title and hope Malmo fail to win their match. The pressure told as we struggled to a 0-0 at half time. Malmo weren't having the best of times either as they were locked in a 1-1 with Helsingborg by half time.

We continued to labour in the 2nd half as news filtered through that Malmo had taken the lead in their match. Then almost out of nothing
Jonas Andersson (YP49) netted for us with just 13 mins remaining. Our joy soon turned to despair as Syrianska took just 4 mins to equalise. With 5 mins remaining Helsingborg had managed to draw level against Malmo which meant if we could get a winner the title would be ours. In the 88th min Alexander Pettersson (YP61) managed to do just that, Jonas Andersson (YP49) collected the ball from a quick throw in and lashed the ball in for Pettersson (YP61) to volley home. Things got worse for Malmo as they conceded a 3rd in the 90th min to lose 3-2 and gift us the title.

    Friendly: Norway U21's 0-0 Sweden U21's
After a long season this tired performance was understandable. At least we didn't lose.

    U21 Euro Championship Quals: Serbia U21's 2-2 Sweden U21's
We managed to step it up for the match that mattered. We took the lead in the 14th min through Yadid Rahim. Serbia hit back hard in the 2nd half by scoring twice in 10 mins. Alexander Pettersson (YP61) salvaged a point in the 87th min but we definately deserved the win.

Champions League Group G: Tord 0-4 Liverpool
Another beating in the Champions League couldn't dampen our spirits after our dramatic last day title win.

End of Season Report: IK Tord, Swedish Premier Division 2035

    League Table, League Graph
    Squad

We started off well with just 1 loss in the 1st 13 league matches. We were there or there abouts throughout the season and in the end it came down to the final game. By this time AIK had dropped out of the title race due to their 5 match winless run at the end of the season. It was between us and Malmo with Malmo just 1 point ahead. We needed to win and needed Malmo to lose or draw. We won and Helsingborg beat Malmo meaning we had retained our title and our place in the Champions League.

    Swedish Super Cup

The last of the domestic trophies to elude us. We lost it 4 years ago to the same team, IK Sirius. They have now won it each of the past 5 seasons.

    Swedish Cup

We got to the Quarter Final but we really should have got further due to a favourable draw.

    Champions League

A great run this year, we beat Avenir Beggen in the 2nd Qualifying Round comfortably, 8-0 on aggregate before seeing off Metalurgs and BATE reasonably well also. This meant we had got the Champions League Group Stage at the 1st attempt. Unfortunately it hasn't quite gone our way since then. We conceded 19 and scored just 2 in the 5 matches so far.

    Champions League Group G

    U19's

    League

A disappointing season considering how well we have done previously. A run of 7 league losses in a row was the main factor of our downfall

    Youth Players (At the Club)

Bojan Ohlsson (YP29) - He's getting considerably worse which is a real shame as he has generally been fantastic for us.

Anton Dahlberg (YP30) - He has still just about got enough in him for this level but maybe for just 1 or seasons more.

Peter Jansson (YP33) - Our top scorer again this season with 18 goals will probably retire soon but I think we have enough quality to replace him sufficiently.

Hakan Larsson (YP35) - Still an assist machine with another 15 this season as well as a few goals.

Jorgen Melki (YP37) - Not as good as previous seasons as he did have a poor run in the middle of the season.

Niklas Svensson (YP38) - Was brilliant for us in the league obviously the Champions League wasn't as great but thats not all his fault.

Niclas Carlsson (YP39) - Played well in the league but for some reason was well below par in the cups.

Erik Carlsson (YP41) - Hardly played at all as younger strikers overtook him in the pecking order.

Martin Hansson (YP43) - Was much worse this season, hope last season wasn't just a flash in the pan.

Joakim Dahlberg (YP44) - Getting unsettled again which may be a problem as we haven't had another decent keeper come through the youth system in ages.

Magnus Kjellman (YP45) - Not as good as last season but still one of our better performers.

Rasmus Svard (YP46) - No more appearances, just waiting for him to leave the club now.

Hakan Neilsen (YP47) -Continues to exceed expectations, played brilliantly as left back or right back.

Jonas Andersson (YP49) - Was brilliant at the start of the season scorin 7 in 10 but then got injured for 3 months and wasn't the same again.

Erik Mansson (YP50) - Another good season for the centre back, is going to be a vital player for us in the coming seasons.

Martin Persson (YP51) - As good as gone, like with Rasmus Svard (YP46) I am just waiting for his contract to run out.

Roger Magnusson (YP52) - Was good again but was outshone by Hakan Neilsen (YP47) in the fullback department.

Viktor Andersson (YP53) - Played a whopping 41 games this season and was solid in every one of them.

Rikard Andersson (YP54) - Made a couple of appearances off the bench which were pretty poor, is leaving at the end of the season as I will not be renweing his contract.

Albin Carlsson (YP55) - Even better than before, he has racked up over 100 league appearances for us and he is only 22.

Erik Johannesson (YP56) - Still struggling to improve significantly, again a decent amount of game time but not a lot of quality.

Simon Granlund (YP57) - Played a bit but I doubt he will be here for long.

Jorgen Hajra (YP58) - Didn't play at all, looks like he will be following the footsteps of Rasmus Svard (YP46).

Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) - A great season for him as he netted 12 in 37, not bad for a 19 year old.

Oskar Johansson (YP60) - Didn't play much but he should play more once he has fully prepared himself to play at centre mid.

Alexander Petterson (YP61) - A reasonable debut season, I'll reserve judgement on him for now but hopefully he will continue to improve.

Finances - We were doing well but the Champions League Group Stage money has made a huge boost. Hopefully a similar campaign next season will give us enough money to fund the new stadium.

Some teams got into Europe via winning or getting to the final of a cup, here is a key:

    CL - Champions League
    EC - Euro Cup
    FA - FA Cup
    LC - League Cup
    FC - French Cup
    GC - German Cup
    IC - Italian Cup
    SC - Spanish Cup

If there is nothing next to a team's name then they got into Europe via their league position

Back to back champions!! Well done.

This thread is a classic. I hope you have the motivation to keep it up for a while more.

Do you have time for other saves as well?

Glad to see the swedes and the norwegians drew. Important to share with your friends and neighbours

Do you have time for other saves as well?

Glad to see the swedes and the norwegians drew. Important to share with your friends and neighbours
The only other save I have is a Chelsea save which I started playing in the demo, I have only played 3 seasons of it. I go to that save when Tord frustrate me (which is plenty of times ) as its pretty easy to win with a top club, much more relaxing.

Looking at your appearances list, you once thought that Tony Thoren would be a legend for you. Was he as good as you expected? Also, another excellent season, I am sure that in three or four seasons time, you can challenge for 1st or 2nd place in the Group Stages.

Good job on the league win.
You will need better youth intakes though to make an impact in European competitions.

Is there a place in the game that actually lists people with that many appearances or are you manually compiling the information?

Just finished reading all of this and I have to say it's absolutely sensational what you've achieved and the patience you've shown too!

He was a great player but when I think of Tord's best players while I've been in charge he wouldn't come top of the list. My favourite would have to be Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) followed by Peter Jansson (YP33) and Jorgen Melki (YP37).

    League History

They have surprisingly struggled from very early on. They have been on the road to recovery lately and are on to make it back to the Championship for the 1st time since 2011/12.

As expected the cups have been poor as well. Only reaching the 5th Round of the FA Cup once and the 3rd Round of the League Cup once.

The JPT has been more succesful but still a disappointment considering the size of the club. Theyve reached the JPT South section semi final on a few occasions but have never progressed to the final.

The league data is in the player history section but to get the overall appearances/goals etc of the player I have to add on all the cup matches data manually

Champions League Group G: Bayern Levrkusen 3-0 Tord
As expected really, we went 3-0 down by half time but held it together much better in the 2nd half even having a few shots of our own.

Well, as long as you saw that your players were showing signs of some dominance, I think you should be pretty happy. You had a very tough group this year but hopefully with an easier group and a bit more luck, you should start picking up some points. Not bad!

    Ticket price: £32.40 (£31.70)

    Rankings:
    Swedish Premier Division: 50th (41st)
    Country Coefficients (Sweden): 20th (22nd)

    Key: This Season (Last Season)

No great players again in this intake but a couple I will keep my eye on:

Victor Lindgren (YP62) (DL) - Report

Olle Stenman (YP63) (MC) - Report

Some interesting news on the stadium front, originally it was going to take them untill the end of 2037 to only plan the stadium but now it will be built by then. They finished the planning just before the start of this season and our new 10k capacity ground will be ready in 2 seasons time. Also as I predicted they went with the hugely imaginitive name of "Tord Stadium":

Unfortunately just like before the board took out an unnecessarily big loan at a ridiculously high rate. So for the next 15 years we will be paying back £379k/month. This equates to ~£68M for a simple £12M loan which we could have just about afford anyway.
This will pressure us into getting in the CL group stages every year which is no easy task.

The news just gets better and better! I thought they would've at least named it the hrbfcrule stadium though Are you on the clubs icon list yet?

Boards and loans can be a real pain, but great news on the stadium finishing early!
Good luck with the new season.

Nope not even on favoured personnel yet . Only 2 players have made it onto favoured personnel (Peter Jansson (YP33) and Jorgen Melki (YP37)) and no one is in icon or legend category.

I don't mind this stadium not being named after me because I want the next one to be instead. That one will be much bigger and better even if it is a long way off.

    League History

Struggled to start with but have now turned themselves into a solid mid table premiership team.

They have even made Europe twice, once in 2020 where they reached the 1st KO Round. The other time is 2036, so far they are in the 4th Qual Round and still going strong.

They have twice reached the FA Cup final where they lost both times although each time it gave them a ticket into the Europa League.

League Cup has been less succesful, they've reached the semi final once and the quarters a handful of times.

    March 2036

    U21 Euro Championship Quals: Sweden U21's 1-0 Estonia U21's
Dominated the match but had to rely on a 31st min penalty from Rikard Hansson to seal the win and keep us top of the group.

Swedish Super Cup: Atvidaberg 0-2e Tord
We were very average in normal time but seemed to step up a gear in extra time. Erik Carlsson (YP41) and Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) sealed the win to claim the last domestic trophy we hadn't won yet.

    League: Tord 1-0 Kalmar FF
An even match separated only by a Jorgen Melki (YP37) strike in the 55th min.

    League: Oddevold 1-2 Tord
    Jorgen Melki (YP37)
was again on target to net his 2nd in 2 games to give us the lead. Oddevold equalised with the last kick of the 1st half as we switched off after a very good 45 mins. Sebastain Jeppsson (YP59) retook the lead in the 2nd half before any chances of a comeback were squashed when Oddevold got a man sent off.

    League: Tord 2-1 Vasteras SK
Despite only scoring 2 in each of the last 2 seasons Magnus Kjellman (YP45) scored twice in one match to give us a 2-0 lead. Vasteras got one back but didn't do enough for the draw.

Bizarre call from the board regarding the stadium, that must be really frustrating to see. Making real progress in the league and Europe though, keep going.

The new youths look poor regarding their attributes, but interesting to see they have high potential, how many seasons did you have to go through before players with 3 and 4 stars for PA started appearing?

    League: Hammarby Fotboll 1-2 Tord
    Peter Jansson (YP33)
eventually got his 1st goal of the season in the 25th min. The lead was doubled via an own goal early in the 2nd half. Hammarby scored a late consolation but we got the win.

    League: Tord 1-1 IK Sirius
First dropped points in the league. IK Sirius netted 1st but their lead lasted just 2 mins until an own goal restored parity.

    League: Mjallby 0-1 Tord
Back to winning ways, Jonas Andersson (YP49) left it until the 91st min before putting away a well deserved winner.

    League: Malmo FF 1-0 Tord
First loss of the season, we were unfortunate to do so as well as we matched Malmo comfortable throughout the match.

    League: Helsingborg 0-1 Tord
    Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59)
scored in yet another slim win. I'd rather we turned our dominance into more goals because every game is so nerve racking.

    League: Tord 2-0 GAIS
Another game we left very late to win. Jonas Andersson (YP49) had a goal disallowed in the 1st half but fortunately that didn't matter as Albin Carlsson (YP55) and then Andersson (YP49) himself scored in the 89th and 91st min respectively.

Some seasons I get players with 3 star potential straight away, sometimes if i'm lucky I get 1 with 3.5. Most of the time the new intakes are 2.5 stars or less but if I leave them in the U19's for a season or 2 their potential goes up to 3 or more stars.

The PA is relative the current squad so I have always been getting 3 star potential youths coming through. Just the ones coming through now are much better than the ones at the start due to the improved overall quality of the 1st team squad

    League: Tord 2-0 Umea FC
    Jonas Andersson (YP49)
and an own goal sealed a comfortable win over Umea. We should have had a few more but I won't complain.

    League: Syrianska Kerburan 1-3 Tord
    Jonas Andersson (YP49)
netted his 3rd in as many games to get us off the mark in this game. Syrianska Kerburan made the task harder for themselves as they saw red just before half time. Niclas Carlsson (YP39) and Hakan Neilsen (YP47) took advantage of this in the 2nd half before Syrianska grabbed a consolation.

Swedish Cup 3rd Round: Umea FC 1-2e Tord
Should have won it in normal time but our lack of finishing stopped that. We went 1-0 down in the 1st half but an own goal pulled us level. Erik Carlsson (YP41) then scored the winner in the 98th min.

    League: Tord 4-1 AIK
Best performance of the season so far, absolutely sensational. We could have had 7 or 8 as well. Albin Carlsson (YP55), Jorgen Melki (YP37), Erik Carlsson (YP41) and Hakan Larsson (YP35) all scored before AIK got a 91st min consolation.

    League: Syrianska FC 0-1 Tord
    Jonas Andersson (YP49)
continues his habit of scoring late goals. His 87th min strike was enough for all 3 points.

    June 2036

    League: Tord 1-0 IFK Goteborg
Goteborg's indiscipline let them down as a 1st half red card swung the tide of the match allowing Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) to give us the win with his 82nd min goal.

Swedish Cup 4th Round: Falkenburg 2-2p Tord
Don't know why we struggle so much in the cup. Falkenburg are bottom of the 2nd tier yet they were playing the much better team. Somehow we hung on throughout the 2 hrs of football to get to penalties. Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) got both our goals in the match. Luckily we are good at penalty shootouts as we seemed to have relied on them far too much in recent years. We went through 4-3 on pens not misisng a single one.

    League: Kalmar FF 0-1 Tord
A deserved win, Niclas Carlsson (YP39) scored the only goal of the game in the 8th min. Kalmar never had a sight of our goal all match.

Champions League Champions 2nd Qual 1st Leg: Mogren 2-1 Tord
A shock loss to the Montenegran champions, not only that but they played much better than us and could have gained a bigger lead. They took the lead in the 6th min but seemed like they had thrown it all away in the 48th min when a cynical foul gave us a penalty and them a red card. Jorgen Melki (YP37) dispatched the penalty with ease to make it 1-1. But Olle Stenman (YP63) decided to level things in a different way by getting himself sent off in the 57th min. Mogren went on the front foot and scored the winning goal and put more pressure on us in the return leg.

    League: Tord 0-0 Oddevold
We weren't our usual selves, what should be a routine win was a complete aberration. Luckily Oddevold were incompetent themselves and couldn't get near our goal.

    Champions League Champions 2nd Qual 2nd Leg: Tord a(2) 1-0 (2) Mogren
We made a much better fight of it than in the 1st leg but we still struggled to get the all important goal. That was until we were handed another penalty in the 88th min. Again Jorgen Melki (YP37) stepped up and finished it to send us through to the next round. We were handed a tough draw in the next round, Club Brugge. They were massive favourites but, as we have seen in this round, that doesn't necessarilly mean anything.

    League: Atvidaberg 0-2 Tord
A Jonas Andersson (YP49) brace gave us a 2-0 win but there were much more pressing concerns. Namely the 3 reasonably serious injuries suffered in this match. Viktor Andersson (YP53), Jorgen Melki (YP37) and Roger Magnusson (YP52), all key players, were out for 2-3 weeks, 3-4 weeks and 2 weeks respectively.

Champions League Champions 3rd Qual 1st Leg: Tord 5-0 Club Brugge
Wow. Just wow. We just annihilated them. We were without 3 of our best players yet Niclas Carlsson (YP39), Erik Johannesson (YP56) and Jonas Andersson (YP49) all scored in the 1st half. Sebastain Jeppsson (YP59) scored a brace in the 2nd half and to make it worse for Brugge they got 2 players sent off in the 90th min.

Impressive!! Both the league form and the win against Brugge.

I reckon that your players have reached a high level even though the stars may not indicate it.

Is there another qualifying round if you beat Brugge? I assume your european coefficients are on a rise. Looking forward to the update, and as I said before, very glad that you keep this challenge going.

Only in FM can something like that come completely out of the blue and surprise you after long 25 seasons where you could've seen it all. What a great win.

I took a look at the players in your last end-of-season update and particularly like the DC Melki, the keeper Svensson, and specially the DMC Andersson. The rest are poor, I have no idea how do you pull off results like those with this kind of workforce.

    League: Vasteras SK 2-2 Tord
    Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59)
got us off to a great start with a goal in the 2nd min but we were pegged back immediately from the spot. Vasteras completed the turnaround in the 47th min only for Magnus Kjellman (YP45) to nick a late equaliser.

Champions League Champions 3rd Qual 2nd Leg: Club Brugge (2) 2-1 (6) Tord
The damage was already done in the 1st leg but I still wanted us to finish them off properly. It didn't quite work out that way as Brugge showed how lucky we were in the 1st leg as they dominated the 1st half, grabbing the lead in the process. We fought back in the 2nd half and got a deserved leveller, Martin Hansson (YP43) scored from the spot. Club Brugge got a late consolation in the tie to at least grab a win in their home leg but we would progress to the next round.

    League: Tord 1-1 Hammarby Fotboll
Our league form is really struggling at the moment, we only just scraped another draw, Niclas Carlsson (YP39) scored in the 85th min to rescue us a point.

Swedish Cup Quarter Final: Assyriska 1-1p Tord
Another unconvincing display yet somehow we just about scraped through. Erik Mansson (YP53) gave us the lead but we lost it soon after. Mansson (YP53) then turned from hero to villain by getting sent off in the 96th min meaning we had to survive most of extra time without him. We managed to survive so were then left with another penalty shootout. We did the business winning 3-2.

Champions League Champions Playoff 1st Leg: Chernomore 2-2 Tord
We got off to an absolutely terrible start which pretty much summed up our form coming into this match. But we turned it around in the 2nd half, Erik Johannesson (YP56) and Alexander Pettersson (YP61) scoring within 5 mins of each other to cancel out Chernomore's 2 early goals.

    League: Tord 1-1 Mjallby
Still struggling in the league as we blunder to a 2nd consecutive home draw. Mjallby scored early but Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) hit back a few mins later. Mjallby had the better chances to win the match but failed to take them.

Champions League Champions Playoff 2nd Leg: Tord (5) 3-1 (3) Chernomore
Despite our league troubles we are still marching on in Europe. Alexander Pettersson (YP61) and Martin Hansson (YP43) gave us a 2-0 lead before Chernomore got 1 back. An own goal in the 2nd half sealed our path into the group stage for a 2nd year in a row.

    League: Tord 0-1 Malmo FF
Our 4th league match without a win as the retention of our title suffers a massive blow. Malmo leapfrog us in the table albeit having played a game more.

    September 2036

    U21 Euro Championship Quals Group 10: Israel U21's 0-3 Sweden U21's
    Andreas Norman
began the comfortable win over Israel. Then Joachim Nyren notched up a 2nd half brace to put us within touching distance of top spot in the group.

    U21 Euro Championship Quals Group 10: Sweden U21's 3-1 Aremnia U21's
    Johnny Strom
hit a 1st half hat trick to sink Armenia. They got a consolation in the 2nd half but they never looked like troubling the result.

    League: GAIS 0-1 Tord
Finally got back to winning ways in the league but it wasn't exactly convincing. In fact it looked like it would be another draw but for Simon Granlund (YP57)'s 93rd min strike.

Champions League Group A: PSV 3-0 Tord
We played really well for the 1st half an hour, dare I say we were equaling them. But as soon as PSV scored the 1st we went downhill. They scored twice early in the 2nd half to seal the win.

    League: Tord 1-0 Helsingborg
Our Europe form has turned around and thankfully so has the league form. Again we needed a last gasp goal to get the points. Sebastain Jeppsson (YP59) got the 93rd min winner this time.

    League: AIK 3-1 Tord
The last couple of wins had just papered over the cracks. We have a real crisis on our hands as we are struggling for any sort of form in the league. An own goal in the 1st min gave us a fantastic start but AIK were far too strong for us as they powered to a 3-1 win.

Swedish Cup Semi Final: Tord p0-0 Orgryte
Possible the most scrappy path to the final anyone has ever seen. For the 3rd consecutive time in the Swedish Cup we have relied on penalties to see us over the line. Put that together with the extra time win in the 3rd round to make a very lucky run to the final.

Thanks, Sweden still have just the 1 space but they aren't too far away from getting another. A few more good seasons in Europe should do the trick.

Champions League Group A: Tord 0-3 FC Bayern
We did well until the 2nd half, then Bayern scored twice quickly. Then they scored a 3rd late on to seal the win.

    League: Umea FC 1-1 Tord
Our league form continues to struggle as the title seems to be slipping from our grasp. Peter Jansson (YP33) rescued a point with only his 2nd goal of the season. Poor by his standards.

    League: IK Sirius 1-1 Tord
An eventful game, IK Sirius opened the scoring just before half time despite having a man sent off in the 27th min. Niclas Carlsson (YP39) equalised halfway through the 2nd half but IK Sirius could have won it had they not missed a penalty in the 77th min.

U21 Euro Championship Quals Playoff: Sweden U21's 0-1 Italy U21's
We were the better team but our slow start cost us as Italy pounced just 3 mins into the game. Uphill battle now.

    U21 Euro Championship Quals Playoff: Italy U21's (2) 1-0 (0) Sweden U21's
It wasn't to be. Another good performance but Italy were just a bit too strong for us in the end.

    League: Tord 2-1 Syrianska Kerburan
Just our 3rd win in 10 league games, not champion standard by a long way. Peter Jansson (YP33) netted a brace in the 1st half to get the win. Hopefully he has refound his form in time for the close of the season.

Champions League Group A: Chelsea 3-0 Tord
We conceded twice very early on which didn't exactly fill me with confidence but we steadied the ship and only conceded one more. We may have lost all 3 matches 3-0 so far but we aren't doing as bad as Rapid Bucharest who lost their last 2 Group games 7-0 and 10-0.

    League: Tord 1-0 Syrianska FC
Scraped another win thanks to Jorgen Melki (YP37)'s 88th min penalty. Although Malmo's win against AIK pretty much guarantees them the title due to their much better goal difference.

Another strong season. How many games is it until the end now? Hopefully you can pip Malmo to another league title.

How are your finances looking with the Champions League income?

Only 2 games left so its not likely I will beat them to the title.

Getting to the CL group stages was a must in terms of money. We are losing roughly £500k/month mainly due to the ridiculous loan taken bhy the board for the stadium.

At the moment we have made a £3.2M profit for the season and our balance is a healthy £15.82M

    League: IFK Goteborg 1-1 Tord
Our title hopes are over after this draw and Malmo's 5-0 win the following day. Goteborg scored early on but Jorgen Melki (YP37) salvaged a point with a 94th min penalty.

Champions League Group A: Tord 0-4 Chelsea
We played reasonably well and the 4-0 scoreline was definately harsh on us. We didn't help ourselves by turning off for the last 15 mins allowing Chelsea to score twice more.

    League: Tord 1-0 Atvidaberg
We end the season on a high, now to continue that into the final 2 games of the season. Another Jorgen Melki (YP37) penalty saved us.

Swedish Cup Final: Tord 2-0 Oddevold
We were somewhat helped by the fact we were playing in our home ground for this final. Jonas Andersson (YP49) got us off to a fantastic start which was made even better 5 mins later as Oddevold got a man sent off. Erik Carlsson (YP41) sealed our 2nd Swedish Cup win in the 39th min. We had a dodgy run but somehow we got there.

Champions League Group A: Tord 3-1 PSV
Wow. Incredible stuff, ending the season on a massive high. Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) and Jorgen Melki (YP37) both scored inside the opening half an hour to set up a huge upset. PSV got their deserved reward just before half time as our resistance started to crumble. In the 2nd half Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) added his 2nd and our 3rd of the night against the run of play to put our 1st CL group win firmly in reach. We held on for dear life in the remaining half an hour or so to cling on for the win. Niclas Svensson (YP38) even saved a late penalty as everyone did their bit for this historic victory.

Maybe the cup win helped, I remember a while back being CL group whipping boys virtually every game while in Norway, the one exception being an utter hammering (something like 6/7-1) of Marseille and maybe having just won the league helped give us a boost.

Awesome win against PSV! Who would have thought you'd manage to get a win in such a difficult group. Good cup win aswell, just unlucky in the league this season. Any plans to bring the title back where it belongs next year?

Still an amazing read and it's impressive what you have accomplished with those players, you really get the most out of them, i know i couldn't do the same.

It's a shame that apparently the youth recruitment is hard to improve on countries with small reputation which will probably make your challenge even harder, hopefully it's something they'll improve on FM12.

Keep it up, it's been a great story.

Yes morale is a tad too overpowered in this game, sometimes beating some lower league side in a pointless cup game or friendly can do wonders to your team.

Looking difficult there with the possibility of a year without the Champions League. I assume going forward from here onwards is the hardest part, maybe you can dominate Sweden soon but Europe is a whole different beast. Maybe you should just wait until the loan is paid, then ask for better youth facilities/recruitment, then wait for those to be finished, then wait some 10 seasons for the new better youth players to grow into something useful. It'll be quick, just some 50 seasons or so.

End of Season Report: IK Tord, Swedish Premier Division 2036

    League Table, League Graph
    Squad

Again we started well managing 13 wins in the opening 15 games but in the 2nd half of the season we just collapsed. Just 3 wins in the next 11 games gifted Malmo the advantage which led to them taking the title off of us. If the end of season form is anything to go from I am seriously worried about next season.

    Swedish Super Cup

Finally managed to win it. It took us extra time to do it against fellow Premiership side Atvidaberg.

    Swedish Cup

How we managed to win it i'll never now. We didn't look convincing in any of the matches including the final. One extra time win and 3 penalty shoot outs got us to the final where we stumbled past 10 man Oddevold.

    Champions League

Another brilliant run which just beats last years run as we managed to win in the group stages this time. To get to the groups we struggled past Mogren, before comfortably dispatching Club Brugge in the 1st leg and holding on in the 2nd. We eased past Chernomore perhaps a bit fortuitously but we'll take it. Lost the 1st 3 games of the group 3-0 and the 4th 4-0 to Chelsea before the incredible 3-1 win against PSV.

    Champions League Group A

    U19's

    League

Only finished 5th, not looking good for times ahead if we are struggling to produce good youngsters.

    Youth Players (At the Club)

Bojan Ohlsson (YP29) - Got worse again this season but is still better than some of the youths coming up.

Anton Dahlberg (YP30) - Didn't play many at all but still did alright in the few games he played.

Peter Jansson (YP33) - Had an absolute shocker this season. Managed only 1 goal in his 1st 20 odd appearances before scoring 3 goals at the end of the season to make his tally look slightly more respectable.

Hakan Larsson (YP35) - More assists and another good season from the midfielder.

Jorgen Melki (YP37) - Not as good as previous seasons but he was solid from the spot, scoring all 6 penalties he took.

Niklas Svensson (YP38) - Fantastic in the league, conceding just 19 all campaign.

Niclas Carlsson (YP39) - Same as last season, played well in the league but for some reason was well below par in the cups.

Erik Carlsson (YP41) - Was one of the better strikers for us this season, with 4 goals in 22, that really says something about our attack this season.

Martin Hansson (YP43) - Looks like 2 seasons ago was a flash in the pan as he had another mediocre season.

Joakim Dahlberg (YP44) - He should be on his way out soon as he was complaining a lot this season and with just 3 league appearances in his 12 years here I can see why. He just isn't good enough for 1st team though.

Magnus Kjellman (YP45) - Was one of our best performers again, especially in the league.

Hakan Neilsen (YP47) - Becoming one of the great club full backs. Another great season and managed to get a lot of assists this season as well.

Jonas Andersson (YP49) - Same as last season, started brilliantly but slowly got worse until it got to the point where he couldn't hit a barn door.

Erik Mansson (YP50) - Our player of the season, was outstanding in defence, one of the reasons we only conceded 19 in the league.

Roger Magnusson (YP52) - Suffered few injuries this season but played well when he was fit.

Viktor Andersson (YP53) - Was average but with those stats you would expect much better.

Albin Carlsson (YP55) - Just like Hakan Neilsen (YP47) he managed to be solid in defence while managing a fair few assists.

Erik Johannesson (YP56) - He's getting there slowly but surely. Soon he'll be a regular 1st teamer

Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) - Top scorer this season and our best striker with 13 goals. A promising future star.

Oskar Johansson (YP60) - Played a bit more this season but didn't exactly shine.

Alexander Petterson (YP61) - Didn't have a good season at all, failed to score in all 10 of his league appearances but did manage vital goals against Chernomore.

Victor Lindgren (YP62) - Had a fairly decent debut season but will have tough competition from Hakan Neilsen (YP47) and Roger Magnusson (YP52) for his place in the 1st team. What is it with this club and producing good full backs, could do with some strikers.

Olle Stenman (YP63) - Not too bad, has 4* potential so should be one to look out for.

    Leaving Players

Rasmus Svard (YP46) - Has made 65 league appearances but hasn't added to that in the past 4 seasons.

Martin Persson (YP51) - Made just 27 appearances for us, didn't play too bad but there were just too many midfielders at the club.

Simon Granlund (YP57) - Same stroy for him, despite making a few appearances this season he is surplus to requirements.

Jorgen Hajra (YP58) - Never really got going, I brought him into the 1st team more out of hope than anything.

Finances - We will struggle next season financially, this makes reaching the CL groups this season even more important. Just made a profit but I expect that to disappear next season.

Some teams got into Europe via winning or getting to the final of a cup, here is a key:

    CL - Champions League
    EC - Euro Cup
    FA - FA Cup
    LC - League Cup
    FC - French Cup
    GC - German Cup
    IC - Italian Cup
    SC - Spanish Cup

If there is nothing next to a team's name then they got into Europe via their league position

    December 2036

Champions League Group A: FC Bayern 5-1 Tord
Conceded 3 early goals. We settled down after that and Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) got a consolation before we conceded twice late on to seal a big loss and make sure we finish bottom of the group.

How many trips to League 1 have Ipswich had, and how many (far fewer) Premier league trips, if any?

I enjoyed reading this - i have tried in most saves to have a minimum of 8 'home grown' players in my starting 11, but always end up losing patience. This thread may inspire me to be more disclipined in future!
mmmm... if you were managing Arsenal instead of Tord - would their fans tolerate the no signings policy?

Yer it was very strange, we were a completely different team. Going into the match I thought we had a chance to nick a draw after our away match against PSV but I wasn't expecting a win.

They've been one of the most boring teams in the league:

    League History

Had a few good seasons to start with but since their relegation to league one and subsequent promotion back to the championship they have stayed lower mid table every season.

Haven't had much success in the FA Cup or League cup, reaching the 5th round on a few occasions in the former and just 1 quarter final appearance in the latter.

Had 1 go in the JPT where they reached the South section Quarter final.

I doubt they would tolerate it but Tord have practically no fans so its ok

    Key: This Season (Last Season)

For the 1st time in what seems like forever we have had a player that "stands out" in our youth intake according to the ass man.

    Friendly: Sweden U21's 1-1 Andorra U21's
Completely dominated the match and finally got the breakthrough we deserved in the 82nd min through Joachim Lind. Unfortunately Andorra struck late on with their 1st shot of the game to hand us an embarrassing draw.

    March 2037

Swedish Super Cup: Malmo FF 0-1 Tord
Nice early trophy for the season with a very lucky win over Malmo. Jorgen Melki (YP37) scored from the spot in the 3rd min then we held on well for the rest of the match. A great confidence booster over one of our major title rivals. Hoping for more of the same in an exact repeat of this match in a weeks time.

    League: Malmo FF 0-2 Tord
We went one better this time. The 1st time we have scored more than 1 goal against them in the last 17 meetings dating all the way back to our 2-1 win in 2029. Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) scored the opening goal in the 70th min before an own goal doubled our advantage in the 88th min.

    League: Tord 2-1 Kalmar FF
    Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59)
scored his 2nd in as many games before Kalmar equalised almost instantly. Peter Jansson (YP33) came off the bench to net a record breaking winner. He is now Tord's highest league goalscorer overtaking Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) on 134 goals.

    Friendly: Sweden U21's 1-1 Belarus U21's
We outplayed them all match, Andreas Nielsen getting us on our way in the 42nd min but a 91st min own goal stopped us getting the win.

    League: Hammarby Fotboll 0-4 Tord
A crushing win which you don't see often enough in our matches. Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) and Jonas Andersson (YP49) scored in the 1st half. Jorgen Melki (YP37) and Peter Jansson (YP33) both scored late on to compound the victory.

    League: Tord 1-0 Assyriska
Not as many goals as we deserved but enough for the win. Peter Jansson (YP33) got the only goal of the game in the 53rd min.

    League: Tord 1-1 IK Sirius
We recovered from conceding early and eventually Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) scored the equaliser to keep up our unbeaten record.

    League: GAIS 0-3 Tord
We left it reasonably late but a Jorgen Melki (YP37) penalty kicked things off for us. It was followed by strikes from Hakan Larsson (YP35) and Jonas Andersson (YP49) for another big away win.

    League: Oddevold 1-3 Tord
10 goals in 3 away games Jonas Andersson (YP49) opened the scoring and Jorgen Melki (YP37) added to that with a brace.

    League: Tord 0-0 Mjallby
A fairly even match, best chances probably fell to Mjallby but neither team took any of them anyway.

    League: Tord 1-1 IFK Goteborg
It's only right that our home form goes to pot after an excellent few away matches. Our 3rd consecutive home draw sees us lose early ground on the teams around us. Goteborg scored after just 9 mins but things got worse as Erik Carlsson (YP41) saw red just a few mins after coming on. Despite this Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) equalised to just about preserve our unbeaten run.

Swedish Cup 3rd Round: Djurgarden p2-2 Tord
After last year's incredibly lucky cup run it was only right to get our share of bad luck. We should have had this wrapped up in normal time then extra time but both times we let our lead slip. Jonas Andersson (YP49) scored in the 3rd min and Alexander Pettersson (YP61) scored in extra time. We then lost out 5-4 on pens

    League: AIK 1-0 Tord
We follow our cup exit with our 1st league loss of the season. We didn't play too bad but AIK just shaded it overall, Jorgen Melki (YP37) didn't help things by getting a straight red late on in the match.

    League: Tord 2-0 Atvidaberg
Back to winning ways with a straightforward victory over Atvidaberg. Jonas Andersson (YP49) and Peter Jansson (YP33) were on target for us today.

    League: Umea FC 0-2 Tord
    Jonas Andersson (YP49)
proved to be the difference as he added a brace to his goal tally. Can he keep it up throughout the whole season this time as he has a bad habit of petering out as the season goes on.

Sevilla have finally broken the Barca/Real dominance in La Liga. They won the La Liga title to break a 32 year period in which only Barca or Real won the title. Last team bar those 2 to have won it was Valencia back in 2004.

Also (obviously) more importantly Hampton & Richmond have finally been promoted to the football league which is the 1st time I have seen this happen under an AI manager. I celebrated this news almost as much as when I won my 1st Premiership title with Tord

    U21 Euro Championship Quals Group 9: Sweden U21's 1-0 Ireland U21's
We were nowhere near our best and were in the end lucky to come away with the win. Johan Ahlstrand got the only goal in the 86th min.

    Friendly: Malta U21's 0-0 Sweden U21's
Another disappointing international result. Really seem to be struggling this season. We dominated the match but we didn't create enough chances and subsequently didn't score enoug goals.

    League: Tord 1-0 Orebro
Did the job but weren't particularly good. Hakan Larsson (YP35) scored just before half time to earn us the 3 points.

    League: Helsingborg 2-1 Tord
We were on the backfoot the moment we conceded in the 7th min. Alexander Pettersson (YP61) got us back on level terms but only for a few mins before Helsingborg restored their lead.

    League: Tord 2-0 Trelleborg
    Viktor Andersson (YP53)
was the difference this match. He scored twice in the opening half an hour to secure the win. A great performance considering we haven't been at our best recently.

    League: Tord 1-1 Malmo FF
Late drama after over an hour of not much going on. Jonas Andersson (YP49) gave us the lead in the 79th min. It looked like we may do the double over them but a late equaliser prevented that.

    League: Assuriska 2-2 Tord
Twice we went behind but twice Alexander Pettersson (YP61) scored to level the match. We were unlucky not to get the win but at least we are playing much better.

Euro Cup 3rd Qual Rnd 1st Leg: Ujpest 1-1 Tord
Our European campaign got off to a terrible start when we conceded in the 3rd min. Luckily Alexander Pettersson (YP61) equalised 5 mins later to make it slightly less embarrassing. Despite having only drawn we should be okay in the return leg.

    League: Kalmar FF 0-1 Tord
We were lucky to get the win as Kalmar definately deserved at least a point. Jonas Andersson (YP49) netted in the 9th min and we defended that lead to the end.

    Euro Cup 3rd Qual Rnd 2nd Leg: Tord (2) 1-0 (1) Ujpest
We were outplaying them but struggling to get the goals to put the tie to rest. Viktor Andersson (YP53) scored in the 77th min to help take us through but the game still wasn't safe. Luckily their strikers were absolutely terrible and missed a host of late chances.

    League: Tord 2-0 Hammarby Fotboll
    Jonas Andersson (YP49)
and Albin Carlsson (YP55) score in a comfortable win. The only bad note was Magnus Kjellman (YP45)'s sending off 10 mins from time.

    Friendly: Sweden U21's 0-1 South Korea U21's
Another disappointing display by the U21's led to a loss against opposition we really should have beaten. They were the much better team as well which is even worse.

    League: IK Sirius 3-1 Tord
We fell to IK Sirius's impressive home form without much of a fight. To be fair we had half an eye on our lucky/unlucky Euro Cup tie in 3 days time. IK Sirius went 2-0 up in the 1st half before Peter Jansson (YP33) got one back to start the fightback. We didn't score another and they hit us on the counter to net a 3rd.

Euro Cup 4th Qual Rnd 1st Leg: Tord 1-3 AC Milan
This was our reward for beating Ujpest. I would consider it an unlucky draw as I really want to get to the Group Stages to help improve the Nation's coefficient. As expected we were battered, Milan scoring 3 in 32 mins in the 1st half. Not exactly promising stuff but thankfully we held it together and it didn't become a cricket score. Peter Jansson (YP33) even managed to grab a 94th min consolation.

    League: Tord 3-1 GAIS
My 900th game in charge of Tord and it was a happy one. Hakan Larsson (YP35) and Martin Hansson (YP43) scored either side of a GAIS goal to give us a 2-1 lead at half time. Jonas Andersson (YP49) finished the match off in the 2nd half with our 3rd.

Euro Cup 4th Qual Rnd 2nd Leg: AC Milan (4) 1-0 (1) Tord
A brilliant performance, keeping AC Milan down to just 1 goal at their home ground. They may have dominated position but our solid defence only mean they got 2 shots on target unfortunately one of them went in. We could have even nicked the draw but our only major chance of the match came back off the post.

    League: IFK Goteborg 1-1 Tord
A fair draw. Alexander Pettersson (YP61) gave us the lead but Goteborg equalised 3 mins after. This result keeps us just 1 point ahead of Umea.

Unlucky there to get Milan. Hope your league form will keep up. Would've been nice to get another chance in Champions League.

Thanks, there were a few teams I was looking to avoid in the draw, Milan was definately one of them. Most teams we would have had a decent chance against, just got unlucky.

This season has been strange instead of Malmo and AIK challenging for the title as you would expect we have Umea and Helsingborg. Considering both Malmo and AIK combined spent almost £4mill (which is well over 50% of what the league as a whole spent on players) this is quite surprising

    U21 Euro Championship Quals Group 9: Faroe Island U21's 0-1 Sweden U21's
Should really have thrashed them but given the way we're playing i'll take a 1-0. Filip Ahlin got on the scoresheet for us.

    U21 Euro Championship Quals Group 9: Sweden U21's 0-2 Portugal U21's
We got dominate by Portugal and were lucky it only stayed 2-0 after 2 early goals. We held out the rest of the match but that was more luck than any sort of skill.

    League: Mjallby 2-1 Tord
    Jorgen Melki (YP37)
gave us the lead from the spot midway through the 1st half but Mjallby hit back with 2 late 1st half goals to turn the match around. We had our chances in the 2nd half but failed to take them.

    League: Tord 1-0 AIK
A very cagey affair, only Alexander Pettersson (YP61)'s 2nd half strike separated the 2 sides after 90 mins.

    League: Tord 1-0 Oddevold
Should have been a rout against bottom of the table and struggling Oddevold. Stefan Hedlund (YP64) scored his 1st for the club as we stumbled to 3 points.

    League: Atvidaberg 0-0 Tord
How we didn't win this match i'll never know but it puts Umea within touching distance of us. The next match will be very important.

    League: Tord 3-0 Umea FC
What a title winning display from us. Well technically we haven't won the title yet, 5 points ahead with 3 games left. Peter Jansson (YP33) scored in the 1st min then Bojan Ohlsson (YP29) and an own goal sealed victory in the 2nd half.

    Friendly: Sweden U21's 1-1 Australia U21's
A good performance but it still wasn't enough to earn us a win. Victor Kristofferssen gave s the lead early in the 2nd half but Australia hit back with 15 mins remaining.

    U21 Euro Championship Quals Group 9: Slovenia U21's 0-0 Sweden U21's
A bore draw. A terrible match and a real dent in our chances of qualifying from this group.

    League: Orebro 0-1 Tord
One step closer to regaining our title, Alexander Pettersson (YP61) scoring in the 14th min to get us the victory which puts within a point of the title.

    League: Tord 2-1 Helsingborg
A great way to send off our old stadium as we claim the title in our final home game of the season. Peter Jansson (YP33) scored on the half hour mark but Helsingborg equalised immediately despite us being dominant for the whole 1st half. In the 2nd half Jorgen Melki (YP37) missed a penalty in the 63rd min but made up for it by scoring 6 mins later which turned out to be the title winning goal
