Friendly: Bulgaria U21's 0-0 Sweden U21's
You could tell this match was played during preseason. It was slow paced as players struggled for fitness to get ready for the new season. Hardly any goalmouth action as it laboured to a 0-0.
League: AIK 0-0 Tord
They were all over us for the 1st hour of the match but didn't make it count. We had a real chance to nick all the points when they got a man sent off in the 65th min. But despite the man disadvantage AIK held firm to deny us an opening day win.
League: Tord 3-2 Gefle
Was expecting a comfortable win and it looked that way as Hakan Nielsen (YP47) scored our 1st of the season. Martin Hansson (YP43) then made it 2-0 shortly before half time. Then we started to bottle it as Gefle scored twice in 5 mins to draw level. Somehow we stopped the rot and turned the game around again as Jonas Andersson (YP49) grabbed the winner in the 81st min.
League: Atvidaberg 0-2 Tord
Again was expecting an easy win but we still made it difficult for ourselves. Jonas Andersson (YP49) gave us the lead in the 17th min but Bojan Ohlsson (YP29) got a straight red 10 mins before half time. Despite that we still dominated the rest of the match and Jonas Andersson (YP49) killed the game off in the 76th min with his 2nd of the match.
League: Tord 1-1 IFK Goteborg
It was a tough match and one where we struggled throughout. Goteborg took the lead early in the 1st half but Jonas Andersson (YP49) netted his 4th in 3 games to draw us level.
League: Mjallby 0-2 Tord
Our away form is starting off very well. Jorgen Melki (YP37) got us off to a good start by scoring a penalty in the 4th min and Rikard Andersson (YP54) doubled the lead 5 mins from half time. Job done.
League: Tord 0-0 Malmo FF
Home form meanwhile is looking shakey although we have played a few tough teams. We should have won this one but failed to put away crucial chances.
League: Tord 2-0 Assyriska
A good home win saw Jonas Andersson (YP49) back on the scoresheet along with Jorgen Melki (YP37).
League: Hammarby Fotboll 1-2 Tord
Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) scored his 1st ever goal for Tord as he came on as a 2nd half sub. A great start to his career lets hope it continues. Niclas Carlsson (YP39) added a 2nd in the 85th min to sela the win. Hammarby got a consolation in injury time but the win was ours.
League: Syrianska Kerburan 1-2 Tord
Our unbeaten streak continues despite another early red card in this match. Hakan Larsson (YP35) saw red before the half hour mark. He did manage to score the opening goal 10 mins earlier though. Just like the Atvidaberg match the red card didn't seem to faze us at all as we continued to outplay Syrianska. Martin Hansson (YP43) doubled our lead in the 53rd min and all Syrianska could muster was an 89th min consolation.
League: Tord 1-0 IK Sirius
An even match with the only major chance falling to us. Normally we struggle to take them but no such problems this time as Jorgen Melki (YP37) put it away with ease.
League: Halmstad 1-3 Tord
We shot out of the blocks leaving Halmstad in the dust as Peter Jansson (YP33) racked up his 1st 2 goals of the season and Jonas Andersson (YP49) added a 3rd. Halmstad did manage to get 1 back in the 2nd half but the damage was already done.
Swedish Cup 3rd Round: Atvidaberg 2-1 Tord
Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) continued to impress as he netted within 20 mins of his 1st start for the club. Unfortunately luck was not on our side in this match as Atvidaberg managed to score twice despite only having 1 shot on target in the whole match.
League: Tord 2-1 Helsingborg
Jorgen Melki (YP37) put us 1-0 up at half time following a largely dull 1st half. Helsingborg deservedly equalised 10 mins into the 2nd half but Peter Jansson (YP33) popped up to get an 89th min winner.
League: Tord 3-2 Umea FC
Again we started incredibly well. Jonas Andersson (YP49), Viktor Andersson (YP53) and Jorgen Melki (YP37) all scored within the 1st 35 mins. But we became a victim of complacency as Umea hit back twice in the last 5 mins of the 1st hal to set up an exciting 2nd half. We halted our freefall and created a few more chances but didn't take them. This allowed a tense finale as we hung on to our 1 goal lead.
League: Vasteras SK 0-1 Tord
We should have beaten them by much more but instead had to settle for Erik Johanneson (YP56)'s goal to give us the 3 points.
Top of the league, undefeated
Friendly: Sweden U21's 1-0 Japan U21's
For all our chances we just couldn't get a breakthrough. That was until Ake Engstrom's shot in the 76th min which managed to find its way through a crowd of players into the bottom corner.
League: Tord 2-1 Syrainska FC
An easier win than the scoreline suggests. Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) continues to score goals as he opened the scoring in the 53rd min. Erik Mansson (YP50) then made it 2-0 in the 82nd min but we again conceded a late consolation. We do not want to make a habit out of this.
Euro Cup 2nd Qual 1st Leg: Spora 0-3 Tord
How we didn't get more I don't know. We had 7 clear cut chances but it seemed like so many more, it's only goals that count though. Viktor Andersson (YP53), Jonas Andersson (YP49) and Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) all got on the scoresheet.
League: Tord 0-0 AIK
It was imperative we didn't lose. A draw will do but I was looking for a win. It was an even game, we were probably slightly better on the day.
Euro Cup 2nd Qual 2nd Leg: Tord (6) 3-1 (1) Spora
Not as much as a walkover as the 1st leg but still not exactly difficult. Hakan Larsson (YP35), Peter Jansson (YP33) and Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) scored the 3 goals for us.
League: IFK Goteborg 0-1 Tord
A fantastic win and a fantastic game. Magnus Kjellman (YP45)'s 4th min goal was enough for all 3 points. With all the chances flying around througout the match for both sides you wouldn't have expected the 1 goal to be enough.
nice idea using your own youth prospects and your doing good and your doing well in europe. i might try it with portsmouth since if im correct there have a transfer embargo and limited first teamers and your one seems enjoyable i need a new enjoyable challenge. going to be hard with pompey the yonly have 38 players at the club and that includes youth reserves and first team going to be a challenge keeping everyone fit at least no reserve games just youth games i will manage the youth team too.

Nice to see you at the top :P, hope the draw in Europe is/was kind.
Not very nice that you have to go through that many qualifying rounds for the EURO Cup group stage. But at least it's mid-season for you, unlike us in Wales who were barely showing up for post-break calisthentics at that point!
Great job this year keeping the number of drawn games down, or more correctly, managing to make draws of the losses and wins of the draws. I'm going out on a limb here and predicting that you will finish in f... <sounds of poster being mugged and gagged by operatives sent from a certain someone on this board>
Surely a first league title is on the cards this season?
Getting very excited now.
Wow. This could be the season. Jeppson is looking good. Great to have you back.
Having read the entire thread, I've got to say well done!
To even avoid relegation using only your youth players is an achievement, let alone getting promoted and even making Europe. Well played.
I look forward to seeing how the rest of the season plays out. Could we being seeing Champions League football in the near future? I think so.
I have to say, this is my favourite thread on here. Hope to see you as league champions soon!
Nice to see this thread going strong still. Good luck for the rest of the career!!!
Amazing job you are doing with so limited resources, i applaud.
Great story mate. Finally you will get the league trophy
Thanks for all the support guys I will try and to the rest of the seson updates today.
It's good having the qualifying stages in the middle of the season although (if we ever get there) the later stages of the tournament will be in our pre season.
Euro Cup 3rd Qual 1st Leg: Tord 1-2 Bursaspor
We got a reasonably tough draw in the shape of Bursaspor. Despite the difference in stature we managed to take the lead inside the 1st min, through Jorgen Melki (YP37). Bursaspor slowly turned the screw and exerted their dominance. Getting a goal back in the 1st half before taking the lead early in the 2nd. We continued to play well and were unlucky not to snatch a late equaliser.
League: Gefle 0-1 Tord
Our fantastic league form continues unaffected from the Euro Cup loss and amazingly only our 2nd loss of the season. Late action was the order of the day as firstly Erik Carlsson (YP41) gave us the lead in the 86th min and then Albin Carlsson (YP55) got his marching orders in the 94th.
Euro Cup 3rd Qual 2nd Leg: Bursaspor (6) 4-2 (3) Tord
Our 1st leg result seemed to have taken its toll on morale in this match. We conceded twice early on to put us 4-1 down on aggregate and seemingly out of the tournament. However Peter Jansson (YP33) had other ideas, he scored twice to level things up and also put us within a goal of progressing to the next round. It was ultimately too much as we got punished on the counter twice late on as we searched for that elusive 3rd goal. Nonetheless we made an outstanding acount of ourselves throughout the 2 legs.
League: Tord 2-0 Atvidaberg
Peter Jansson (YP33) followed his brace in the Euro Cup with a brace in this match to give us a comfortable victory over struggling Atvidaberg.
League: Tord 1-0 Mjallby
We have Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) to thank for this win. While no one else in the team could hit the target he came on off the bench to slot home the only goal of the game.
League: Malmo FF 1-1 Tord
Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) also gave us the lead in this match but this time we were unable to retain it.
League: Tord 1-0 Syrianska Kerburan
Magnus Kjellman (YP45) came to our rerscue in the 86th min to nick all 3 points for us.
Euro U21 Qual Group 10: Sweden U21's 3-1 Montenegro U21's
A very impressive win with Mattias Claesson, Jonas Danielsson and Joel Nilsson all scoring in the opening quarter of the match. We almost had a 4th on the stroke of half time but Claesson missed a penalty. Montenegro got a goal back but that was more than they deserved really.
Friendly: Montenegro U21's 0-1 Sweden U21's
Despite a near dominant display a few days prior back in Sweden we struggled in this match. Albin Carlsson (YP55) eventually found the breakthrough but Montenegro made it very tough for us.
League: Assyriska 0-2 Tord
Anton Dahlberg (YP30) and Viktor Andersson (YP53) both netted in the 2nd half to help us slowly edge away from the rest of the league.
League: Tord 1-0 Hammarby Fotboll
Peter Jansson (YP33) got the only goal of the game as we scraped yet another win.
League: IK Sirius 2-0 Tord
Finally our unbeaten run comes to an end. IK Sirius outplayed us completely this match. To be honest we were riding our luck a fair bit throughout the run of 32 league games without losing.
Did you order the champaign???
11 points clear, I wont drink on it yet but you have an 85% chance to get there
PS very well done
League: Tord 3-1 Halmstad
Back on track with a comfortable home win. A Jorgen Melki (YP37) brace + another Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) goal selaed it.
Euro U21 Quals Playoff 1st Leg: Sweden U21's 0-1 Portugal U21's
The win against Montenegro last month ensured we finished 2nd behind Spain in our group menaing we went into the playoff to get a place in the U21 Euro Championships. However it wasn't going to be easy as we were handed tough opponents Portugal. Despite matching them thoughout the match they still managed to sneak a 1-0 win going into the 2nd leg.
Euro U21 Quals Playoff 2nd Leg: Portugal U21's (3) 2-3 (3)a Sweden U21's
This is where things got amazing. Portugal started the better side but missed an 11 th min penalty before finally taking the lead on the half hour mark. Then we completely turned things around and scored twice in 5 1st half mins, Ake Engstrom and Per Andersson with the goals. It looked like our fairytale would end when Portugal equalised with 30 mins to go but suber sub Niklas Nylander retook the lead for us and sent us through the to the U21 Euro Championships for the 2nd successive time.
Friendly: Sweden U21's 2-1 Georgia U21's
For some reason we had another 2 friendlies this month as well as the playoff so 4 international matches . A Joel Nilsson brace ensured a streaky win over Georgia.
Friendly: Denmark U21's 1-1 Sweden U21's
We were outplayed by Denmark and were lucky to get the draw. They took an early lead but didn't close the game off allowing Rikard Hansson to equalised for us in the 78th min.
League: Helsingborg 0-0 Tord
A pretty poor match but a draw will do it for us. A couple more wins and the title is ours.
League: Umea FC 1-2 Tord
There's 1 win, just need 1 more. We struggled in the 1st half even going 1-0 down as maybe the pressure was getting to us. But we were back to our best in the 2nd half as goals from Martin Hansson (YP43) and Jonas Andersson (YP49) gave us a much deserved win.
League: Tord 2-1 Vasteras SK
How fitting, we win the title with our final home game of the season. Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) and Albin Carlsson (YP55) gave us an early 2 goal lead. We even managed to hold it until the 91st min where we allowed Vasteras a goal back. But it didn't matter to us as we had become Champions!!!!! . . . . of Sweden.
League: Syrianska FC 1-1 Tord
Put out a mixture of 1st teamers with a few younger players to try them out. Peter Jansson (YP33) gave us the lead but Syrianska equalised soon after. We didn't really mind as this match was really a waste of time for us. Although it did mean we finished on 73 points which is the highest total by any team in all seasons.
What a sensational achievment, big congrats on winning the title
Congratulations on winning the league! That's a cracking achievement.
Look forward to seeing how the youth of Tord get on in the Champions League.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!
And amazingly I didn't manage to jinx it with my prediction!
Now, to become champions of Europe.
Very well done, probably the biggest achievement of any on these forums
I hope it doesn't take you another 25 seasons to win the Champions League though...FM12 will be out in three/four months time!
congratulations delta!!! Fantastic achievement & good luck with the big boys
Good job.You nailed it .
Congratz, excited to see you in CL quals. How is Sweden national team doing, maybe some screenies of best players?
Congratulations hrbfcrule! What a fantastic acheivement! Now onto the next step of the challenge...
I knew about this a while ago but great work
I'd like to add my appreciation of a job well done
Still a long way to go to complete your challenge, but what you've achieved so far is nothing short of incredible!
Just a pity you have to wait until well into next year to tackle europe.
Good job on winning the league
Fantastic. Been waiting for this. An exeptional achievement.
Just started reading this a couple of days ago, and I must say that your achievement is pretty spectacular. Looking forwards to following this forwards, as it has become a "must read".
Congrats on winning the league!
Congrats on all you're achivements it's going to be good to see how your youth products get on against the best in Europe.
Also you've inspired me to do my own youth only game but in N.I.
Here are some of Sweden's best players at the moment:
Emil Akesson (MC) - He has had a pretty good career so far but it looks like the best is yet to come. Currently at Real Madrid, he has had spells at Porto, Espanyol, Birmingham and Getafe.
Ronnie Andersson (ST) - Those with incredible memories may remember this guy from when I managed him in the Sweden U19's all those years ago. His career has seen him travel to Blackburn, Inverness, Bursaspor, Ankaragucu and Partizan before ending up at Leeds.
Carl Johan-Hult (DMC) - Had long succesful spells at Cremonese and Feyenoord before moving to Villa where he is finding his feet nicely.
Sweden themselves haven't done particularly well over the years.
Firstly the World Cup:
They twice finished 2nd in their group in 2016 and 2024 where they lost in the 2nd place playoff both times. They've only once got out of the qualifying stages and that was for the 2030 World Cup. The rest of the times they finished either 3rd or 4th.
In the 2030 World Cup they finished 2nd in their group containing South Africa, Italy and Chile. Surprisingly it was them and South Africa who progressed and not Italy. They then lost 1-0 to Germany in the 1st Knockout Round.
They have fared better in the European Championships as you would expect. Qualifying for it 3 times (2020, 2024, 2032). In 2020 and 2024 they reached the Quarter finals and in 2032 they got to the 2nd Round.
End of Season Report: IK Tord, Swedish Premier Division 2034
League Table, League Graph
Finally, after all these years of coming close and falling at the final hurdle we kept our nerve and strolled over the line. Only 1 league loss all season doesn't tell the whole story, we rode our luck a fair amount but kept what should have been losses to draws and what should have been draws to wins. All in all a fantastic season but I wouldn't expect next season to be more of the same.
To give you an idea of what I'm trying to compete with here are the amount spent by the title contenders from december 2034 - march 2035 (for the season 2035):
AIK - Spent £6M, Recieved £2.4M - Net £3.6M
IK Sirius - Spent £1.3M, Recieved £885K - Net £415K
Malmo FF - Spent £925K, Recieved £2.8M - Net £-1.875M
IFK Goteborg - Spent £1.9M, Recieved £900K - Net £1M
Despite our fantastic season in the league we fell at the 1st hurdle in the cup losing out to Atvidaberg.
2nd Qual round was easy enough with a 6-1 aggregate win over Spora before being handed a tricky draw against Bursaspor. We played extremely well but it was clear they were a different class to us. We eventually went out 6-3 to them.
A thrilling league campaign saw us snatch the titleaway from Hammarby on the last day on goal difference.
We also managed a fantastic cup run, getting to the semi finals before losing out to Halmstad.
Youth Players (At the Club)
Bojan Ohlsson (YP29) - Only a few more seasons left in him, he showed this season that he's still got it.
Anton Dahlberg (YP30) - Same story for him as well, still plays his part will be a big loss when he retires.
Peter Jansson (YP33) - Has got in the habit of having a great season followed by a mediocre one, it looks pretty strange in his league history. His last 7 season league goal tallys are 8, 22, 6, 20, 8, 17, 7.
Hakan Larsson (YP35) - Played very well, but I am getting worried that all our best players are starting to get past it a bit.
Jorgen Melki (YP37) - Continues to be fantastic whatever position he plays.
Niklas Svensson (YP38) - A great season, just 24 conceded in 33. This made a huge impact on our title win.
Niclas Carlsson (YP39) - Still performing nicely in midfield, another one who is passing his peak.
Erik Carlsson (YP41) - A poor season coupled with new striker Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) making a flying start to his career saw Erik Carlsson (YP41) out of the match squad for most of the season. Will need to fight for his place now.
Martin Hansson (YP43) - Had a fantastic season, very surprising. Only stopped by a few injuries. Hopefully h can produce more of the same.
Joakim Dahlberg (YP44) - Was forced to play a couple of matches as Niclas Svensson (YP38) got injured.
Magnus Kjellman (YP45) - His best season yet, the 1st time he passed the 7 average rating mark.
Rasmus Svard (YP46) - No more appearances, just waiting for him to leave the club now.
Hakan Neilsen (YP47) - Continued at his high standard, mostly in central defence now that Roger Magnusson (YP52) has stolen his left back position.
Jonas Andersson (YP49) -His usual mediocrity, has never really excelled at Tord. He has only reached double figures on one occasion.
Erik Mansson (YP50) - Possibly the season to kickstart his career? Played very well as he tried to fill the boots of Bojan Ohlsson (YP29).
Martin Persson (YP51) - As good as gone, like with Rasmus Svard (YP46) I am just waiting for his contract to run out.
Roger Magnusson (YP52) - Brilliant season again although he has suffered a broken leg during the 2035 preseason which will hamper his progress.
Viktor Andersson (YP53) -Is becoming everpresent in the side despite his young age. An exciting prospect.
Rikard Andersson (YP54) - Not great and doesn't show much improvement, will probably be on his way out soon enough.
Albin Carlsson (YP55) - Played at an even higher standard this season.
Erik Johannesson (YP56) - Played a reasonable amount even if it was mostly off the bench. Had moments of brilliance but will need to be more consistent.
Simon Granlund (YP57) - Got better but I am still not convinced he's good enough.
Jorgen Hajra (YP58) - Not going to survive long here, played badly and there a far too many people ahead of him in the pecking order.
Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) - A brilliant debut season, 9 goals in 27 appearances most of which were off the bench.
Jonas Andersson (YP27) - Decided he'd had enough of being a fringe player and decided to retire at the end of the season.
Managed 225 league appearances for us over his 17 year career with us. He decided not to properly retire and not take up a staff role.
Finances - More profit which has helped the new upgrades. The stadium is being expanded to 6000 with 2300 seats possibly to comply with Champions League rules. Meanwhile the new stadium planning will be finished in a staggering 3 seasons. Then they'll have to build the bloody thing.

Amazing job. I cheered like I would if I had beaten a rival team in a match. Great job!
Congrats on the win dude! Finally! *claps*
well done! Superb achievement!

Hey just read through - congrats on the league win - and how are Rushden and Diamonds doing?
Great career, keep it up.
As you can see theyve bounced between Championship and Premiership. Haven't really been able to stabilise themselves in the Premiership though. They may have another chance next season as they are 6th in the Championship with 1 game to go.
As for the cups, they have done surprisingly badly in them. In the FA Cup in the 25 seasons they have only reached the 5th Round once. Reaching either 3rd or 4th in all the others.
League Cup isn't too much better, they have reached the 4th round on numerous occasions but have never progressed to the Quarter finals or beyond.
Rushden & Diamonds
They were doing so well but that has all been undone in the past 5 seasons. They reached the dizzying heights of League One (their highest point being missing out on the playoffs on goal difference in the 2027/28 season. Since then they have collapsed back down to effectively where they started.
In the FA Cup they have reached the 2nd Round on 6 occasions and even managed to reach the 3rd Round once. In the League Cup they lost in the 1st Round every time bar one.
The JPT was more succesful, reaching the South section final in 2026/27 losing to Bournemouth. As well as 2 Quarter Final and 2 Semi Final appearances.
The FA trophy wasn't too great considering its contested between Blue Square teams. They reached the Semi Final twice but most of the time they couldn't get past the 1st Round.

Not a great intake again despite the recent improvements to the youth facilities:
Oskar Johansson (YP60) (ML) - Report
Alexander Pettersson (YP61) (ST) - Report
Youth upgrades were completed again and are now up to Excellent. I decided to ask the board for upgrades to Training facilities this time as I want the players I have now to reach their potential. Still another 3 seasons before the planning for the new stadium is completed.

Swedish Super Cup: IK Sirius 3-1 Tord
Not exactly confidence inspiring as we collapsed in the 2nd half. Erik Carlsson (YP41) got a consolation in the 92nd min but its a worrying result for us to start off with.
League: Tord 3-1 Hammarby Fotboll
Hammarby took the lead in the 28th min but fortunately we hit back immediately. Jonas Andersson (YP49) and Viktor Andersson (YP53) both scored within 5 mins to give us a 2-1 lead. Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) sealed the win in the 80th min with our 3rd goal.
League: IK Sirius 0-1 Tord
Maybe we aren't in as much trouble as I thought. A replay of the Super Cup, same venue same opponent different result. We outplayed them completely and Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) got the only goal of the game from the only major chance of the game.
Friendly: Sweden U21's 3-1 Belgium U21's
A comfortable win which all happened within a hectic 1st half. Johnny Strom scored twice in 3 mins. Then Belgium got a goal back before an own goal restored our 2 goal advantage. All happening in 18 1st half mins.
League: Tord 4-0 Umea FC
A big win against Umea. Peter Jansson (YP33) opened the scoring in the 7th min. Then Jonas Andersson (YP49) scored a stunning hat trick, Umea had no reply.
League: Malmo FF 1-1 Tord
A tale of 2 penalties, Jorgen Melki (YP37) scored ours in the 17th min but we were denied victory by Malmo's own penalty in the 84th min. Fair result in the end though.
League: Tord 1-0 Halmstad
We dominated but struggled to finish, the complete opposite of the Umea match. Luckily Peter Jansson (YP33) managed to find the net to get us the win we deserved.
League: Oddevold 1-2 Tord
I'm pretty proud of this match even though we didn't play great. The reason being we had a whopping 70% possession, we are the Swedish Barcelona . Albin Carlsson (YP55) and Jonas Andersson (YP49) gave us a 2-0 lead. Oddevold got 1 back in the 73rd min to ensure a nervy finish but we held on for the win.
Looking forward to the champions league qualifiers.
hrbfcrule, would I be right in assuming that you have 2 qualifying rounds to go through to get into the Champions League proper (i.e. like Malmo at the moment)?
I know you won't know your prospective opponents yet, but looking at previous years, do you think you have a chance of progressing?
I have been put in the 2nd Qualifying Round, after that there is a 3rd Qualifying Round and then a Playoff before the Group Stages.
In the 2nd Qualifying Round I got a good draw with either Fiorentino of San Marino or Avenir Beggen of Luxembourg. After that I don't know, if I get a good draw it's definately possible to get to the group stages.
Things look good atm :P
I'm not saying anything new here, but utterly brilliant achievement to finally win the league.
Another 25 years until the Champions League title?
Great achievement winning the title!
Don't know if anyone's asked you this yet, but have you had many players come through the ranks with a second nationality? or has it been pretty much exclusively swedes?
Whats your youth recruitment level? Have you had a chance to upgrade? Because I think that thing is messed up, no matter what, you can't upgrade it with a smaller club who does really well.
How is BK Häcken doing by the way?
Theyve really fallen from grace. From being a Premier Division regular to at 1 point slipping into the 4th tier.
The Cup is poor as well once making the semi finals and once making the quarters, apart from that not much to comment on.
League: AIK 2-0 Tord
1st league loss of the season and predictibly it comes at AIK. They were just about the better team on the day although they did ride their luck at times.
League: Tord 2-0 Mjallby
We left it late but an own goal followed by a 90th min Jonas Andersson (YP49) goal gave us the win we just about deserved.
Swedish Cup 3rd Round: Assyriska 0-1 Tord
Jonas Andersson (YP49) again getting on the scoresheet before getting injured for 2-3 months later on in the game.
League: Tord 2-0 Vasteras SK
Bojan Ohlsson (YP29) headed home from a corner in the 4th min and Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) doubled our advantage just before the half hour mark. It stayed like that the rest of the match but we should have had a couple more.
League: Helsingborg 3-3 Tord
We went 3-0 up after 50 mins from an own goal, Peter Jansson (YP33) and Jorgen Melki (YP37). But we threw it away as we handed them 3 goals on a plate.
League: Tord 4-2 IFK Goteborg
We quickly strolled into a 3-0 lead with goals from Peter Jansson (YP33), Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) and Jogen Melki (YP37). Unfortunately a good 1st half performance was marred by conceding right on half time. Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59)'s 2nd of the game in the 2nd half restored our 3 goal lead before Goteborg scored a late consolation.
League: Tord 1-0 Kalmar FF
Albin Carlsson (YP55) got the only goal of the game in the 31st min. A poor match in truth but I am glad we managed to carve out the win.
League: Gefle 1-3 Tord
A very bad tempered game with 9 yellow cards in total along with 22 fouls. In the middle of all the kicking each other Albin Carlsson (YP55) amnaged to score one for each team. Along with Peter Jansson (YP33) getting a brace.
U21 Euro Championships 2035
Group A: Spain U21's 2-1 Sweden U21's
So unlucky to not win this let alone lose it. We played much better than them and deservedly took the lead through Joel Nilsson. Then against the run of play Spain scored just before half time. In the dying seconds we had a penalty decision turned down and Spain went up the other end and had a penalty shout of their own. Theirs was accepted and scored leaving us gutted at losing a match we really should have won.
Group A: Sweden U21's 0-2 France U21's
Despite being the underdogs again we held our own. France finally found a way through our defences in the 2nd half although they weren't exactly convincing during the match.
Group A: Turkey U21's 2-0 Sweden U21's
Another match we should have got something from but on the day we just didn't have the luck. Also the other 2 matches had taken it out of us a bit. We slumped to a 2-0 defeat against Turkey to finish rock bottom of the group.
League: Syrianska FC 2-1 Tord
A disappointing loss especially after Peter Jansson (YP33) took the lad in the 6th min. Albin Carlsson (YP55) was again the culprit of an own goal which led to our demise.
Swedish Cup 4th Round: GAIS 3-3p Tord
We surprisingly struggled against 2nd tier GAIS. Hakan Larsson (YP35) gave us the lead but again we fell behind 2-1 and were only saved by Peter Jansson (YP33)'s late equaliser. In extra time we started to tire which allowed GAIS to retake the lead. Again we were saved by the boot of Peter Jansson (YP33) which took the match to the lottery of penalties. We came out on top 4-3 to scraoe into the quarter finals.
League: Syrianska Kerburan 0-1 Tord
We seem to be struggling at the moment, mainly due to the sheer number of games we have to play in a short space of time. However Magnus Kjellman (YP45)'s strike is worthy of winning any match. Smashing it from around 30-35 yards into the top corner through a crowd of players.
League: Hammarby Fotboll 1-0 Tord
Oh dear, our 2nd league loss in 3 games. Hammarby played better and deserved to win but its left our title hopes in question.
Champions League Champions 2nd Qual Rnd 1st Leg: Avenir Beggen 0-1 Tord
A great way to bring up my 800th game in charge of Tord, with our 1st match in the Champions League.
*also see if you can spot the bug
We were up against the Luxemborgian champions a team that has never got past the 2nd qualifying stage of either European club competition in its handful of attempts. The match itself was a bit of a disappointment. We completely took them apart but were unable to find the goals. Only Peter Jansson (YP33)'s strike saved us from the embarrassment of a draw when in reality we should have had 5 or 6.
League: Tord 2-2 IK Sirius
Our league form is still struggling. We started incredibly by scoring twice in the opening 7 mins. Jorgen Melki (YP37) and Anton Dahlberg (YP30) with the goals. Yet again we threw it away, so frustrating to watch.
Champions League Champions 2nd Qual Rnd 2nd Leg: Tord (8) 7-0 (0) Avenir Beggen
What the 1st leg should have been like. It's a pity only 2300 fans could come and see it. Peter Jansson (YP33) netted a hat trick and Magnus Kjellman (YP45), Alexander Pettersson (YP61) and Jorgen Melki (YP37) managed 1 each and an own goal made it 7. Job done.
League: Umea FC 1-2 Tord
A much needed win to keep up with AIK and Malmo in the race for the title. Hakan Larsson (YP35) and Hakan Nielson (YP47) scored within 4 mins of each other in the 2nd half. Even a red card for Erik Carlsson (YP41) couldn't stop us throwing this lead away.
I spotted the bug
Champions League Champions 3rd Qual Rnd 1st Leg: Tord 4-1 Metalurgs
Got lucky with the draw as we face the Latvian champions in the 3rd qualifying round. The tie was effectively wrapped up in the 1st leg. Metalurgs got a red card in the 26th min and it all went from bad to worse for them from there. Peter Janson (YP33), Jorgen Melki (YP37) and a brace from Viktor Andersson (YP53) piled on the misery. They ended with a glimmer of hope in the shape of an 88th min consolation goal.
League: Tord 1-1 Malmo FF
A win would have been really handy here but we just couldn't get it. Malmo started well scoring after just 2 mins. Peter Jansson (YP33) equalised in the 11th min but despite a Malmo red card we couldn't capitalise on the situation. In my view this is dropped points rather than a point gained.
Champions League Champions 3rd Qual Rnd 2nd Leg: Metalurgs (2) 1-0 (4) Tord
Should have won this match but Metalurgs scored from their only shot all game and we failed to do so despite numerous tries. Still we won the tie overall and are just one qualifying round away from the Group Stage. We got a very fortunate draw: BATE the Belarussian champions. This is a great opportunity to get into the groups let's hope we take it.
League: Halmstad 0-1 Tord
Just about struggling along in the league, Peter Jansson (YP33) continues to single handedly save us with another goal here against Halmstad.
Swedish Cup Quarter Final: Umea FC 2-1 Tord
We could and should have beaten Umea, after that we had an easy semi final draw which meant we should have easily reached the final but we blew it. Umea took the lead but not for long as Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) equalised straight away. Unfortunately Umea retook the lead in the 2nd half even though we were having all the possesion. Oh well, we have a lot on our plate at the moment we could do without the cup run.
League: Tord 2-1 Oddevold
We went behind in the 7th min but we fought back and goals from Hakan Larsson (YP35) and newbie Alexander Pettersson (YP61) secured the win.
Champions League Champions Playoff 1st Leg: BATE 0-1 Tord
A fantastic away win puts us in the driving seat of the tie but I will not get carried away just yet. We weren't the best team but BATE were wasteful and Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) made them pay with an 84th min.
League: Vasteras SK 1-3 Tord
Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) continued his vein of good form with another goal to give us the lead. Vasteras equalised early in the 2nd half but super sub Martin Hansson (YP43) scored twice late on to get us a deserved win.
Champions League Champions Playoff 2nd Leg: Tord (2) 1-1 (1) BATE
A very tight game which we just about edged. Alexander Pettersson (YP61)'s 70th min goal put us ever closer to the gold mine that is the group stages. BATE equalised in the 81st min which made it really tense with about 10 mins left. They peppered our goal with shots but none found their way in. We had done it group stages here we come.
How's this for a draw doesn't look like i'll be getting any points. The Italian Champions, the Bundesliga runners up and Liverpool.
1) The bug: I've had that bug myself in the declaration regarding my 1000th game at the helm of Prestatyn. Interestingly, an earlier news item declaring that I was managing my 1000th game did not have the bug; the difference between the two had to do with my international career, I'm certain.
2) The League: It's too bad about the two losses, which took you from a commanding lead to a one-game deficit. Has 73 pts ever been second place before? Looks to me like you'll need to win out and get that 73 pts to win.
3) Europe: Yes, I'm thinking you might have prefered Fenerbahçe or Celtic or even Sporting CP as your #3 seed. <sigh> Well, try to get some draws, anyway, since they usually get you about $500K each.
Ooooh, gj with getting to the gorup stages but looks tough :P, take them pennies tho
That's definitely a tough group, but I don't think the draw could have shaken out in a way that would have been a good group for you anyway. Doing as well as you have in Europe should go some way to improving your coefficient (and therefore seeding) for next season, though.
Absolutely amazing. Finally you are in the cl groups. Looks like the team is solid and hard to beat. Pity about the slip in league form, but hopefully AIK will experience a rough patch as well.
Thanks for the Häcken update. They have gone the exact opposite way of Tord.
Looking forward to read about cl-matches.
Too bad you didn't get Odd. Guess they would have been more managable. You'll just have to give it your best shot and hope for something spectacular! Good luck anyway!
Group C would have been handy for you, but best of luck in the Group phase
I go on holiday without internet for a couple of weeks and when I return I discover Tord have won the league and are in the CL groups. Brilliant achievement on both counts hrbfcrule! Hopefully the added income and reputation boost, coupled with the recent improvements made to your youth facilities can kick-start the club to a whole new level.
Been away for a while and what news to come back to. Winning the league, progressing to the group stages of CL! Amazing! Hopefully form this season can pick up and you can take home some more silverware.
Don't count yourself down and out in the CL yet. Teams can be complacent in the group stages against lower opposition, especially the number 3 seed as they might not use a full squad. If you can pickup a home win and a few home draws you can keep off the bottom.
Tord in the CL, I never thought I'd see the day. No pressure anyway.
This is a great thread, hrbfc must be congratulated for reaching the UCL group stages with an awful teamI'm currently trying this with Hogaborgs bk, although it will be easier because they have an above average youth recruitment, (atleast they start in the swedish second division)
Just spent the entire morning reading through this thread. The success you have had so far is incredible, especially winning the league and making the CL group stages with essentially your 2nd generation of players (Thoren (YP5), Svensson (YP16), Karlsson (YP8), etc. being your 1st). I would have expected you to have to wait for a better generation through improved facilities to achieve what you have so far.
I'm also blown away that the 3-4 year delay you had due to your facilities being cancelled (this would have made me so frustrated) barely hindered your progress. Glad to see you've overcome the idiocy of your board and got them upgraded, along with a new stadium.
I'll be sad when Hakan Larsson retires, he's my favorite Tord player so far, just an assist machine.
KUTGW, and I'd be curious to see how the Swedish Premier Division ranking has changed in the game, has it improved (or declined) by a significant amount?
Your team must be incredibly well gelled and blended together, combined with the tactics I assume that is a large part of your astonishing success :>
Just read through the whole thing, really amazing, congrats for everything so far
He has more buses parked than they do in London :P
Thanks everyone, the CL groups are a massive step up as you'll see in the next few updates.
League: Tord 1-1 AIK
A lot riding on this game as you would expect from a 1st vs 2nd battle. Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) gave us the lead after 26 mins but AIK equalised in 1st half injury time. They had the better of it in the 2nd half but failed to finish us off.
Euro U21 Championship Quals: Sweden U21's 3-2 Serbia U21's
A difficult start to the qualifying campaign but we just about managed to pass it. Goals from Jonas Danielsson, Henric Ohlin and Niklas Nylander put us 3-0 up and cruising. Serbia then got 2 late goals back and all of a sudden we were panicking. We survived to hang on to an opening day win.
Euro U21 Championship Quals: Estonia U21's 0-1 Sweden U21's
Struggled through this match only thanks to a Niklas Nylander penalty on the stroke of half time. Still a win's a win.
League: Mjallby 0-1 Tord
Stumbled to a win over a weak Mjallby side. Jonas Andersson (YP49) got back on the scoresheet with his 1st goal since his 3 month lay off.
Champions League Group G: Liverpool 7-1 Tord
The title odds were generous to us however Liverpool were not. I was expecting to get thrashed but not this badly. Only positive is that we managed to score. Again it was Jonas Andersson (YP49) who scored it but by then we were already 5-0 down.
League: Tord 2-1 Helsingborg
We struggled maybe due to the aftershock of our heavy loss to Liverpool. Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) gave us the lead but Helsingborg equalised with 14 mins remaining. Erik Carlsson (YP41) came off the bench to net a 94th min winner.
League: IFK Goteborg 1-1 Tord
We went down in the 5th min but Peter Jansson (YP33) struck back with a 20th min equaliser. Not much happened after that but it means we have lost ground on our rivals
Ouch! That's a heavy defeat. I hope the Champions League games don't disrupt the end of your domestic season. You're so close to retaining your title!
Champions League Group G: Tord 0-1 Bayern Leverkusen
A much more respectable scoreline this time. Ever since the Liverpool match I have been dreading the rest of the group stage but after this it seems like it may not be as bad as anticipated.
League: Tord 2-0 Gefle
Gefle sure were angry at us for some reason. They racked up 3 yellows and 2 reds in this match while we didn't get a single card. Sebastian Jeppsson (YP59) took advantage of their red cards by scoring a 2nd half brace.
Euro U21 Championship Quals: Sweden U21's 1-0 Israel U21's
Another match we just scraped past, Magnus Danielsson scored the winner in the 76th min.
Euro U21 Championship Quals: Armenia U21's 1-2 Sweden U21's
An upset was on the cards when Armenia took the lead in the 12th min. They held it well but just couldnt make it to half time. Jonas Danielsson equalising in the 3rd min of injury time. Our dominance ws taking its toll on them and eventually Johnny Strom netted the winner in the 71st min.
League: Kalmar 0-0 Tord
Not a single shot on target in the entire match for either side. Says it all about this match really, gotta feel sorry for the fans. It has set up for an exciting finale with 2 games remaining.
Champions League Group G: Tord 0-2 Napoli
Another reasonable result as we are nowhere near being in a position to actually compete with teams of this calibre.
Tough start in the CL, but you've fought hard and long to get there, and I guess you only get better as time progresses. Keep going and you'll get there eventually.
1 point off...
Two games remaining....
By far and away the best story I have ever read. You have inspired me to take on a similar challenge soon. The layout is clear and easy to read, as well as being original.
However, the most impressive aspect of this story is the achievement. You have won the league, got into the Champions League and won the Cup with a team predicted bottom of the bottom league, using only youth players. Wow.
Top work, I cannot wait to read more!
