Fredrik Karlsson is a bloody legend. You're so lucky nobody wanted him.
Fredrik Karlsson is a bloody legend. You're so lucky nobody wanted him.
It was a very reasonable start, anything above the relegation zone is fine by me
My target each season in the Premier League has been 30 points. Although in the past 15 seasons you would have only been safe 8 times with 30 points.
Yeah I got quite lucky, he has continued to impress in the next few months . . .
July 2025
League: IK Sirius 2-1 Tord
Our poor form continues as we make it 6 games without a win. IK Sirius scored in the 34th min and wrapped up the match in the 89th. Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) grabbed a consoloation in injury time.
League: Tord 3-1 Vasteras SK
A great win considering our form. Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) netted twice in the 1st half before Vasteras SK pulled one back. However Hakan Larsson (YP35) restored our 2 goal advantage in the 70th min.
League: Tord 2-1 Malmo FF
A shock win against Malmo especially as we only had 1 shot on target. Malmo took the lead from the spot in the 20th min but Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) equalised 4 mins before half time. The winner was an unfortunate own goal in the 52nd min.
August 2025
League: Helsingborg 1-3 Tord
Not only did we score 3 but Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) was not on the scoresheet. Jonas Andersson (YP27), Anton Dahlberg (YP30) and Simon Berisha (YP31) all scored before Helsingborg got a 90 min consolation.
League: IFK Goteborg 4-1 Tord
Well this brought an abrupt halt to our 3 game winning streak. Goteborg dismantled us but at least Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) got us a consolation.
League: Tord 0-1 Kalmar FF
We were unfortunate not to get a draw, we never looked like winning it but a draw was definately a possibility.
League: Tord 1-1 Assyriska
Should have won this one, of course it was Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) who scored our goal but Assyriska cancelled it out with an 83rd min leveller.
League: Djurgarden 1-0 Tord
Same as the Kalmar game we held on until late on but the draw was just out of our grasp.
League: Tord 1-0 Elfsborg
Struggled to a win as Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) was banned for this match. Hakan Larsson (YP35) got sent off early in the 2nd half but despite this we got the winner. Jorgen Melki (YP37) converted a penalty in the 78th min.
I wouldn't get too excited we are playing way above our capabilities at the moment
wich place you have yo be in to compete in europe?
btw it is great to read your thread. Came here avery day to check for your;s updatesGreat work mate

Told you you would do well this season.![]()
1st gets into the Champions League, 2nd and 3rd get into the Euro Cup. Then the winner of the Swedish Cup gets a Euro Cup place unless they have finished in the top 3 then it goes to the other finalist, if they have also finished in the top 3, then it goes to 4th place in the league
You're good at predicting things
Can you pm me the lotto numbers for next week![]()
September 2025
League: Trelleborg 3-1 Tord
Trelleborg got off to a good start scoring twice in the opening 16 mins. In the 2nd half we struck back with Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) (who else). As we were going for the equaliser Trelleborg hit us oon the counter to make it 3-1 and game over.
League: Halmstad 0-0 Tord
Bore draw. Out of 19 shots only 2 were on target.
League: Tord 3-1 Syrianska FC
We were poor for most of the 1st half until Syrianska got a man sent off in injury time. Simon Bersiha (YP31) then scored from the resulting penalty. We continued to pile on the pressure in the 2nd half and it resulted in 2 more goals. Firstly Anders Axelsson (YP20) headed home from a corner then Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) slotted home 4 mins later. Syrianska got a late consolation but the win was ours.
October 2025
League: Tord 1-2 Mjallby
Very unfortunate, it was a case of finishing our chances. We didn't unfortunately and therefore lost. No prizes for guessing who scored our goal.
League: Gefle 1-0 Tord
They were slightly better and deserved the win but at 1-0 I still thought we had a chance to nick a point.
League: AIK 3-1 Tord
Same as Mjallby match really we could and should have had a point in this match but our shooting let us down. Of course it was Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) who netted our goal. He is being touted in the media as hot favourite to win the Premier Division Player of the Year and he is top of the Golden Boot by 3 goals with 2 games remaining
November 2025
League: Tord 3-2 IK Sirius
A great last home match of the season. The 1st half was 50 50 yet we found ourselves 2-0 down. Jorgen Melki (YP37) got 1 back while I was banging my head against my desk in frustration. Then with 15 mins left I make a triple sub 2 of which go on to score in the final 10 mins to turn the game around. Simon Berisha (YP31) put us on level terms before Johan Heinonen got the winner in the 90th min.
League: Vasteras SK 3-0 Tord
I fielded a weakened team and it showed as we were utterly torn apart. Oh well it didn't make a difference as we still finished 9th.
Done brilliant
1 win away from my predictiontho i wont take any credit haha, good to see some improvement on the points

I love Karlsson...
Great season!
End of Season Report: IK Tord Swedish Premier Division 2025
League Table, League Graph
Squad
We had a great season in the league all thanks to one man, Fredrik Karlsson (YP8). The player I tried to sell at the start of the season and no one wanted. He finished as Premier Division top scorer and earned a place in the Team of the Year but missed out on player of the year.
The season was made up of good runs and bad runs, we would go on winning streaks and then not win for 5 or 6 games. It was enough for 9th place a whopping 11 points clear of the relegation places. I'll be pleased if we can match it next season but I somehow doubt Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) will replicate his form.
Swedish Cup
We made a decent effort in the cup but we were never going to beat Kalmar FF. We have now gone 4 seasosn without winning a cup match.
Youth Players (At the Club)
Anton Alvefelt (YP1) - Starting to feel his age now. Was great when he played but he struggled to stay fit for all the games.
Tony Thoren (YP5) - Had a pretty poor season, his age was also a factor luckily a few young 'uns are coming through to take his place.
Filip Linder (YP6) - Was reliable as usual although for the 2nd half of the season he was dropped to the bench to give one of the younger keeprs a chance to prove his worth.
Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) - Incredible. 16 goals in 27 appearnces this season which equals his best tally for a season. He also won the Golden Boot and a place in the Team of the Year.
Stefan Nilsson (YP13) - Also starting to lose his touch, our main core of defenders for so long are starting to get too old.
Anders Svensson (YP16) - Not a good season for him either. He is capable of much better.
Anders Axelsson (YP20) - Terrible season, he probably will be sold before next season.
Jonas Andersson (YP27) - Continues to improve, didn't play as many games this season but if he continues to get better he will win his place back.
Bojan Ohlsson (YP29) - One of the younger defenders who needs to step up to the mark. Didn't really do that this season but he should do soon enough.
Anton Dahlberg (YP30) - A good season for him, he was our main creator of goals Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) should be very grateful.
Simon Berisha (YP31) - His price tag has shot down but his recent performance have been so much better. A great season for him.
Peter Jansson (YP33) - Pretty poor season but he was kept in the shadows by his striking partner.
Matthias Gustafsson (YP34) - Didn't get many opportunities but didn't play well either.
Hakan Larsson (YP35) - Continues to impress at such a young age. Not quite at his potential yet either.
Daniel Ung (YP36) - Will probably leave the club as we have 4 keepers in the 1st team squad.
Jorgen Melki (YP37) - Has fought his way into the 1st team and played well.
Niklas Svensson (YP38) - Was given a chance at the end of the season. Played 11 times conceded 20, not great but a definite replacement for Filip Linder (YP6) in the near future.
Niclas Carlsson (YP39) - Getting better and at only 20 he is already a 1st team regular.
Viktor Johansson (YP40) - Not good. Erik Carlsson (YP41) is now ahead of him in the pecking order.
Erik Carlsson (YP41) - Was given a fair few games this season, didn't score many but created a few.
Jon Tornros (YP42) - Will be on his way out soon. His potential and ability have dropped significantly over the last few seasons.
Martin Hansson (YP43) - Had a few games and played alright. The potential is definately there.
Joakim Dahlberg (YP44) - Will probably be 2nd choice when Filip Linder (YP6) retires. Not too much chance of getting a game before then.
Finances - Over £300k profit last season. Youth facilities will cost £1 mill though and will be ready in May.
I also applied for the Sweden job but was rejected in favour of Johan Elmander

Still making excellent progress with Tord. Impressive to see all those players achieving 200+ appearances too![]()
Have to agree with the previous poster. You are doing a great and steady progress. And that is why this thread and your career is so interesting, because you are building one brick after another, slowly getting there, one step at the time.
I am very impressed, and always looking forward to your updates. Happy to see that my 400th post was in here
Another thing: All the same in Spain, the big two winning the league. Wonder if someone is going to break their hegemony.
Unfortunately thats easier said than done
Thanks, I think the appearance thing is a better guide to show the true legends of the club and i've never really liked the Overall Best Eleven. It's a good idea but its a bit faulty.
Thanks. France is much worse than Spain, Lyon have dominated the league even getting 103 points (out of 114) in one season.
Real Madrid did have a rough patch where they dropped out the Champions League but it seems like they have recovered from that.
Play a 4-2-4

March 2026
League: Vasteras SK 2-1 Tord
We played fairly well, probably deserved a point as well but it was not to be. Vasteras took the lead from an own goal just before the hour. We seemed to have rescued a point when Anton Dahlberg (YP30) equalised in the 89th min but they grabbed the winner in the 94th min from the penalty spot.
League: Tord 2-2 Gefle
We went 1-0 down thanks to us making a slow start but we fought back and Anton Dahlberg (YP30) got an equaliser just before half time. Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) completed the comeback in the 60th min but Gefle levelled in the last 10 mins. A draw was probably a fair outcome.
League: Kalmar FF 3-1 Tord
After our 1st half display I thought we might be able to get something from this match. Jonas Andersson (YP27) got our goal in the 24th min. But we couldn't repeat the performance in the 2nd half as we conceded a 2nd goal. As we tried to push for a goal we conceded a 3rd which was a tad harsh on us.
Come on Tord!
April 2026
League: Tord 0-2 AIK
Really unlucky not to get a draw, we generally seem to play alright against AIK but still lose. This time was no different, we played well but a couple of long range efforts were our downfall.
League: Elfsborg 0-0 Tord
A very end to end bad tempered game. 7 cards in total 5 to them 2 to me but also plenty of chances. Very surprising that it ended goaless and without a single red card.
League: Tord 3-1 Trelleborg
Our 1st win of the season and it has been a long time in coming. Peter Jansson (YP33) gave us a 1st half lead before Jorgen Melki (YP37) doubled it from the spot just after the break. Trelleborg tried to stage a late comeback by getting a goal back with 10 mins left but less than a minute later Anders Svensson (YP16) restored our 2 goal lead.
League: Tord 0-0 IK Sirius
Should have won this one comfortably but we wasted our chances. Our home record is letting us down this season so far.
League: Orebro 1-3 Tord
A good win against struggling Orebro who used to be our parent club once upon a time. We scored 3 in the 1st half which shocked everyone including me. A Hakan Larsson (YP35) brace and another from Peter Jansson (YP33). It looked like we would cruise to victory but Orebro kept us on our toes with a goal of their own just before half time. luckily we held on for another 45 mins for a great win.
League: Tord 1-1 Syrianska FC
Anders Svensson (YP16) grabbed his 2nd of the season to put us 1-0 up in the 22nd min but we failed to close the game out and were made to pay when Syrianska equalised in the 2nd half.
League: IFK Goteborg 1-0 Tord
We were terrible for the whole match it's a miracle it stayed just 1-0. I tried to take advantage of their inability to finish off chances by nicking a goal at the end. But that backfired and if it were possible we played even worse than we had been previously. They had atb least 5 or 6 golden opportunities in the final 10 mins after I had switched to a more attacking approach.
Also:
They have now gone from Basic -> Adequate
Good month and great news on the facilities being improved, it's only a matter of time now before better youth players start coming through.![]()
May 2026
League: Tord 1-0 Djurgarden
A close match which we just about edged. Jorgen Melki (YP37) got the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 37th min.
Swedish Cup 3rd Round: Hammarby TFF 0-1 Tord
Our 1st cup win for 5 yearsand it couldn't have been scrappier. Just 1 shot on target in the whole game but it was an own goal in the 78th min which sent us through. Our reward for getting through was 4th tier side Rosengard (away of course) and if we get past that it is another away match against either Angelholm or Halmstad.
League: Malmo FF 3-0 Tord
Got battered not as badly as the IFK Goteborg match. Maybe should have scored a few oursleves here.
League: Tord 3-0 Halmstad
Was not expecting this against 3rd place Halmstad. Peter Jansson (YP33) scored either side of half time to give us a 2-0 lead before Anders Axelsson (YP20) wrapped thrings up with a 3rd in the 80th min.
League: Mjallby 2-1 Tord
Another tricky away game which we haven't performed great in but still got a respectable score. Mjallby took an early lead but couldn't kill us off. Simon Berisha (YP31) equalised for us with 15 mins remaining but we failed to hold on and conceded with 10 mins left.
League: Tord 2-1 Hammarby Fotboll
Our home form is pretty decent this season. Jonas Andersson (YP27) got us off to a great start with a goal in the 6th min then Peter Jansson (YP33) doubled our lead in the 69th min. Hammarby fought back late on and managed to get a goal back via a penalty but we hung on for the win.
There are no matches in June due to Internationals. However Niklas Svensson (YP38) has twice played for the U19's this season but hasn't been too impressive. Despite this he has been called up to the U21 squad for a match against Montenegro on the 5th June. Could he be the 1st player from Tord to earn a youth cap (for some reason U19 appearances don't count)
A much better month then and gratz on the cup result!
Excellent month to bring things back on track!
You could keep Karlsson on as a scout to scout your next opponents (that is if you can't convince him to be a coach). Notice he hasn't been scoring as much. Out injured or phasing out?
Looking much better then the previous month, also well done on your 1st cup win for 5 years!!
Mjällby in first?!? The game has gone bonkers![]()
I think it's amazing just how far you've taken Tord with only the youth at your disposal. Makes me wish I had stuck with Welsh players in my game. Wonder how far Flamers would get with just Icelanders??![]()
Flamers could never give up all those Brazilians lol
I think he is still intending to move the club to South America at some point
@DSYoungEsq Not this far, Icelandic players still suck.. badly... My best youth player to come through as a highest stat of 10... Iceland sucks :P
@RichG After I have won Europe that is my goal![]()
Thanks
I tried convincing him to be a coach but he was having none of it. I will keep him as a scout as long as he doesn't want too much money. This season he has been doing poorly, at the moment he has 2 goals in 18 appearances so it looks like last season was, unfortunately, a one off.
They're doing alright in my game, they've never been relegated from the Premier Division and they even won it last year
You could do what I attempted to do in fm10 with H+R except with Welsh players. I won the Premiership and Champions League with all nationalities then decided to make the squad all English while bringing in 1 or 2 youth players each year with the intention of slowly making it a squad consisting of players from our own youth set up.
You would get there eventually if you used just Icelandic players. I would say roughly on the same timescale as I did it.

July 2026
Swedish Cup 4th Round: Rosengard p1-1 Tord
Yet another embarrassing result in the cup. We were handed an easy tie even if it was away against 4th tier side Rosengard. The 1st half went to plan as Erik Carlsson (YP41) gave us the lead but we fell apart in the 2nd half allowing them to score. It stayed like this all the way to the end of extra time so penalties it was. Just like the match itself we started well going 3-2 up after 3 penalties each but we then missed our next 3 meaning we lost 4-3 overall.
League: Tord 2-0 Vasteras SK
We had to wait until late in the game to get the win. Simon Berisha (YP31) netted the 1st in the 70th min before Peter Jansson (YP33) selaed things up in added time.
League: Gefle 1-1 Tord
Erik Carlsson (YP41) gave us the lead after our strong start but after the goal we played poorly. Gefle were all over us and eventually they got an equaliser.
August 2026
League: Tord 1-1 Kalmar FF
We were outplayed for most of the match but Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) came off the bench to grab a late equaliser for us in the 89th min.
League: AIK 4-1 Tord
This match was heading towards a disaster when we found ourselves 4-0 down after less than half an hour on the clock. We picked oursleves up well after that but it was obviously too late to do anything about the result. Niclas Carlsson (YP39) did get a consolation for us in the 79th min.
League: Tord 2-1 Elfsborg
Anders Svensson (YP16) headed home our 1st goal of the match to give us a 1-0 lead going into half time. We threw away all our hard work in the 1st half with some awful defending that allowed Elfsborg to level in the 58th min. Elfsborg's goal gave them the momentum to score another goal that is until they got a straight red in the 72nd min. From then on we were on the front foot and Jonas Andersson (YP27) got the goal we deserved in the 86th min.
League: Trelleborg 1-0 Tord
Should have got a draw from this but it was not to be. Hopefully it won't matter as it looks like we will be safe this season.
League: IK Sirius 0-1 Tord
Typical, we played terrible yet we won. Niclas Carlsson (YP39) got the only goal of the game in the 33rd min. IK Sirius should have had at least 3 or 4 goals but their finishing was comical.
September 2026
League: Syrianska FC 1-1 Tord
A very good away point against 3rd place. Syrianska FC took the lead in the 52nd min but Anders Svensson (YP16) headed in our equaliser from a free kick 12 mins later.
League: Tord 1-2 IFK Goteborg
Anders Svensson (YP16) continued his goalscoring run to give us a shock lead against Goteborg. Unfortunately this didn't last as Goteborg struck back twice to win the game.
League: Tord 2-1 Orebro
My 500th game in management turned out to be a win. Albeit against relegation threatened Orebro. After a dull 1st half Niclas Carlsson (YP39) scored 14 mins into the 2nd half. Rasmus Svard (YP46) doubled our advantage with his 1st goal of his Tord career. Orebro hit back less than a minute later but their comeback was halted by a red card in the 77th min.
Do my eyes deceive me? Was that actually an away WIN you got month before last???
Of course, you promptly offered up a home loss to counteract the benefice.![]()
October 2026
League: Djurgarden 0-1 Tord
A shock win to complete the double over them. Peter Jansson (YP33) gave us an early lead which could have been cancelled out had Djurgarden not missed their penalty a few mins later. It was a match of few chances as we defended our slender lead for our 3rd away win of the season.
League: Tord 1-0 Malmo FF
Another impressive win against 2nd place. Simon Berisha (YP31) got the early goal which we then hung on to for dear life for 70 mins to claim the victory.
League: Halmstad 1-1 Tord
Absolutely destroyed them but our finishing was below par today. Peter Jansson (YP33) again giving us an early lead which Halmstad levelled in 1st half injury time.
November 2026
League: Tord 0-2 Mjallby
A tough fixture against the current champions. Our home form has been pretty good all season but we were not good enough to overcome them.
League: Hammarby Fotboll 3-1 Tord
Sad news came before this game, both Anton Alvefelt (YP1) and Johan Heinonen have decided they are going to retire at the end of the season. Between them they have amassed over 600 league appearances for Tord. Because of this I played them both in this match as a final send off. It didn't go to plan but oh well. Hammarby destroyed us in the 1st half notching up a 2 goal lead by half time. Then on the hour mark Viktor Johansson (YP40) scored to get us back in the game and break an incredible streak, I mean it's so bad it's bordering on impressive. Hammarby scored a 3rd quickly after our goal to end all hopes of a comeback.
Another season of safety, well done!
Excellent season again! I guess it's just a case of keeping plugging away building up the finances to improve the youth facilities now. I'm amazed you've gotten this far to be honest![]()
Yeah. Great season. You are unlucky to the extreme with the cupruns. Hoping it will improve, because that could be a short-cut out to european football. Looking forward to the next update.
End of Season Report: IK Tord Swedish Premier Division 2026
League Table, League Graph
Squad
We had a slow start but eventually we got rolling. We were never in danger of relegation but also never looked like challenging the top half. Our home form was our saviour this season, we picked up 28 points from our 15 home games and only lost 3 times. Another thing I noticed was that we seem to be able to score more freely now than a couple of seasons ago. We managed 34 league goals this season compared to just 20 in our 1st season in the top flight, a huge improvement.
Swedish Cup
We finally won a gamewhich meant we had finally got past the 3rd round for the 1st time in 8 years. We beat Hammarby TFF 1-0 away and should have beaten Rosengard as well in the next round but I shocking display saw us lose on penalties. Maybe 2 cup wins in a season was too much to ask for.
Retiring Players
Anton Alvefelt (YP1) - Career Stats
Played a handful of games this season but still got a couple of assists including one in his final game which is nice.
So the 1st ever youth player retiresmaking 287 league appearances over 17 seasons scoring just once with 13 assists.
Future Staff Role: despite his poor stats I have signed him on as a coach purely because of his years of service to the club.
Johan Heinonen - Career Stats
The last player who wasn't technically a youth player, he started the game in the 1st team yet has proven he can play in all 4 divisions.
He made 329 league appearances for Tord over 17 seasons scoring 25 and creating another 23.
Future Staff Role: He was already on a player/coach contract but will now be just a coach at the club. Has very good staff stats as well.
Youth Players (At the Club)
Tony Thoren (YP5) - Had a much better season but with his stats declining surely there's not long left for him.
Filip Linder (YP6) - Has now been beaten by Niclas Svensson (YP38) for the number 1 spot. Did get a few games while he was international duty though.
Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) - Couldn't replicate last year's form but I didn't really expect him to. A measly 2 goals this season in his 20 odd appearances.
Stefan Nilsson (YP13) - Still seems to be as reliable as ever despite his increasing age.
Anders Svensson (YP16) - A fantastic season for the centre back as he also nets 5 goals, all from set pieces.
Anders Axelsson (YP20) - Highlight of his season was scoring apart from that he didn't do much else.
Jonas Andersson (YP27) - Doesn't play half the games but performs well in the ones he does play in. 3 goals and 2 assists in 16 games.
Bojan Ohlsson (YP29) - He's stepped up to the mark this season, a great season for him in which he also set up 4 goals.
Anton Dahlberg (YP30) - Didn't play too much this season but like Jonas Andersson (YP27) he was reliable when called upon.
Simon Berisha (YP31) - Didn't reach the heights of last season but nonetheless some impressive stuff from the midfielder.
Peter Jansson (YP33) - Has finally shown he could have what it takes to replace Fredrik Karlsson (YP8). 8 goals in 30 games but he is still 2 stars off his potential apparently.
Matthias Gustafsson (YP34) - Didn't play too much as we have an abundance of decent midfielders.
Hakan Larsson (YP35) - One of the players keeping Matthias Gustafsson (YP34) out the team and you can see why.
Daniel Ung (YP36) - Will be leaving at the end of next season if not sooner.
Jorgen Melki (YP37) - According to my assistant he is the best player at the club. His performances aren't that good in my opinion but at only 21 they can only improve.
Niklas Svensson (YP38) - Has now replaced Filip Linder (YP6) as first choice, conceded 35 in 30 with 8 clean sheets but with those stats I am sure he is capable of better.
Niclas Carlsson (YP39) - Not a great season for him but he is still quite young. Has to improve quickly as there are quite a few players waiting for their chance in the 1st team.
Viktor Johansson (YP40) - Ended his 31 HOUR goal drought this season with his goal against Hammarby in the final game of the season. I will keep him for a few more seasons but it doesn't look like he is good enough for the Premier Division
Erik Carlsson (YP41) - A slow improver but he is getting better, I really hope he makes it as his stats are pretty decent.
Jon Tornros (YP42) - Didn't play at all and will be gone at the end of next season if not sooner.
Martin Hansson (YP43) - Played a decent amount of games but needs to play better if he wants to secure a spot in the 1st team. Despite an average season he still won Rookie of the Year
Joakim Dahlberg (YP44) - Will probably be 2nd choice when Filip Linder (YP6) retires. Not too much chance of getting a game before then.
Magnus Kjellman (YP45) - Played quite a lot of games considering it was his debut season, can only be a good thing in the long run.
Rasmus Svard (YP46) - Only 3 appaearnces for him but he did get his 1st goal for the club.
Finances - Over £250k profit last season. Board won't allow another another youth upgrade just yet.
I have now applied for the Sweden U19 job but haven't heard back from them as of yet.

yeah that's the plan god know how long it will be before the board agree to another youth upgrade.

Good season again.![]()
How much is the club worth now? You have a healthy bank balance and the facilities have been upgraded so it must have increased quite a lot from the 45k it started off at. Oh, and also, just two more years before the loan repayments end.![]()
And in France there is Lyon and only Lyon. Wonder how long they will keep their dominance.
out of interest who is the highest payed player?
nice season so far, KUTGW
The club is now worth £1.7M making it the 10th most expensive club in Sweden.
I have been counting down the days 'til we finally finish paying back the loan
Maybe not for too long it seems they finally have a challenger, Monaco are 1 point ahead of them at the halfway stage of the 2026/27 season. Normally Lyon are at least 5 points clear by this stage.
Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) is Tord's highest payed player he is on £875/week followed by Stefan Nilsson (YP13) who is on £500/week.
If you mean the highest payed player in the game then I think it is Mariano Ceballos who is an Argentinian regen playing for Barcelona who is on £220,000/week

Couple of months after applying for it this popped up:
My 1st game is against Azerbaijan on the 8th Feb (literally the day after I got offered the job). Therefore I haven't had a chance to change the squad so no Tord players will feature. But don't worry there will be bias when I pick the squad for the upcoming Euro U19 2nd Qual Round Group 3 matches against Germany, Switzerland and Belarus in May.

February 2027
Friendly: Azerbaijan U19's 1-2 Sweden U19's
My International career got off to a fantastic start with this goal within 75 seconds to give us the lead:
Things got better when Andreas Lindahl converted a penalty in the 21st min. Unfortunately Azerbaijan pulled back a goal just before the half hour mark but we held on to claim a win in my 1st international game.

Congrats on getting Sweden U19 NT job!
Will you make a squad full of players from Tord youth academy?![]()
Why does the name "Le Tissier" come to mind when I see that goal?
GRATZ! I know you have been after that job for a while! 31 hours is very impressive I have to say. A Heskey of Sweden?
Congrats on all you have achieved so far! I've only read a couple pages but it's been a great read and has definitely got me wanting to do a save like this! Do you keep all your youth players that come through? or just the most promising players? And also do you sell any on if you get a good offer or if they want to leave?
Thanks yer I have been after any of the Swedish jobs so I am glad to get one of them. He is a much less succesful version of Heskey that's for sure, I can't see him getting anywhere near the Swedish team unless I become manager
I will for some matches but unfortunately most U19 matches are not in international breaks so I don't think I can risk sending off most of players on international duty. They'll be much more needed at Tord.
I'll try although I'm happy to wait it out, at least i've got some form of international job.
I only choose the top few players, it depends on how good the intake is. But I don't release the others straight away instead I leave them in the youth squad and check again next year when they could have improved quite a lot as a few of my players have done.
So far I've only sold a player on my terms but I have lost a few that I would have liked to keep from their contract running out. There are a few who continuously ask to leave but I keep persuading them not to. I don't think any team has made an offer for one of my players without me actively trying to sell that player but that could all change as the big Swedish clubs are sniffing around Jorgen Melki (YP37)
Preseason
Media Prediction: 14th
Title Odds: 200-1
Expectations: Avoid Relegation
Wage Budget: £23,108 (£15,704)
Wage Bill: £5,412 (£5,176)
Ticket price: £24.80 (£25.00)
Season Ticket Holders: 933 (904)
Season Ticket Price: £277.00 (£278.00)
Key: This Season (Last Season)
One player of note left the club: Anders Axelsson (YP20) - He looked promising in his earlier years but he struggled to hold his 1st team place especially as we got to the Premier Division. He made 140 league appearances for us in his 11 seasons at the club scoring 4.
The youth intake was very disappointing considering we just had the facilities upgraded:
Hakan Nielsen (YP47) (DL) - Report
Fredrik Juhlin (YP48) (MC) - Report
Friendlies
Indios 2-1 Tord
GDR Libolo 3-0 Tord
Sewe 2-3 Tord

Aragua 2-1 Tord
URA FC 1-0 Tord
En Avant Estruire 1-0 Tord
Madang Fox 0-3 Tord
Hammarby Fotboll 2-0 Tord
that left back could be quite good, give him a few years I reckon, he's certainly got good mental stats!
This is one of the best careers on here. I'm always put off managing in countries like Sweden because I don't know any of the players and can't relate to them in my head, with faces and playing styles... but then when you manage to keep a game like this going for as long as this, it picks up its own momentum and I suppose you do become attached to the club and even reading about it, I'm becoming a bit of a Tord fan.
Have you ever thought of contacting Tord and telling the club of your long term adventure with them in this game? They might invite you over to a match or something and you get in the local paper!![]()
great work & impressive perseverance.
strange how Lyon have not made the French cup final in over a decade despite their dominance in the league.
I hope so we need a decent left back as Anton Alvefelt (YP1) has now retired. I don't have high hopes for (YP48) though.
Thanks. I understand your point about not choosing a country due to not knowing enough about it but after a few seasons I become really attached to a club and certain players. The only background knowledge I had of Sweden before this save was the names of a few of their clubs (eg Malmo, AIK, Djurgarden).
I have never thought of contacting Tord because to be honest I don't think they'll care besides they may not even understand me as I can't speak Swedish. It would be funny if they did invite me over for something like that but it's highly unlikely
As Esben Knudsen said it is a bug where I think only non league teams enter. It's a bit annoying as the winner of the French Cup gets a place in the Europa League which is kind of screwing France over a bit. But it's not a big deal and hopefully it will be fixed in the next patch.
Just noticed that Athletic won the CL. Great for them and that is probably with mostly youth products as well due to their Basque players only policy. Its a sign!
Enjoying this thread immensely hrbfcrule. I love the sheer audacity of the title: "becoming the best in Europe" - looks like it will be a good decade before you will be best in Sweden let alone Europe - hopefully an improvement in finances will speed you along. I can just imagine the Swedish equivalent of Football Focus doing the occasional feature on IK Tord and their crazy policy of not buying anyone.
Looking forward also to seeing how tricky it is to hang onto your players for their entire careers when the youth academy finally starts producing some genuine world class prospects.
Once you're best in Europe with IK Tord, you should take over the Swedish national team and manage them to World Cup glory using only players who came through the Tord youth system.
I hope so
I chose the title because that's the main aim. I know it's going to take a very long time but I am sure I can do it.
It's good at the moment that no one wants my players even so the better ones are asking to leave 3 or 4 times a season. It's going to be a lot more difficult when the the youth players get better.
Thats the planOnce you're best in Europe with IK Tord, you should take over the Swedish national team and manage them to World Cup glory using only players who came through the Tord youth system.![]()
March 2027
League: Tord 0-1 Malmo FF
Again we succumbed to a narrow loss against Malmo. They rode their luck throughout the match after opening the scoring in the 11th min with what was their only shot on target in the whole match.
League: IFK Goteborg 1-1 Tord
Our luck evens itself out the next match as we get a lucky draw against Goteborg. They went 1-0 up just before half time before Magnus Kjellman (YP45) scored from our only meaningful attack of the match
April 2027
League: Tord 4-1 Umea FC
One of our best performances in the top flight. Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) and Peter Jansson (YP33) both scored in the 1st half either side of an Umea goal. Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) neeted again early in the 2nd half to give us breathing room before Hakan Larsson (YP35) finished them off with our 4th.
League: Elfsborg 2-0 Tord
We went from amazing to rubbish in a week. Elfsborg outplayed us the whole match but only had 1 goal to show for it. I went all out for a point in the last 5 mins but it backfired as Bojan Ohlsson (YP29) got a straight red and conceded a penalty in the 90th min.
League: Tord 2-0 Assyriska
And back to amazing again . . . maybe not quite amazing but good. Anton Dahlberg (YP30) scored a brace as we recorded a 2nd consecutive home win.
League: AIK 1-0 Tord
Away form seems to be a problem although this match we were incredibly unlucky not to win t let alone lose it. AIK got the winner in the 73rd min but before that we had twice hit the woodwork. Firstly Tony Thoren (YP5) from a corner then Peter Jansson (YP33) as he raced through on goal.
May 2027
League: Tord 1-0 Trelleborg
Peter Jansson (YP33)'s strike on 26 mins was enough for all 3 points. However we could and should have had more nevertheless another good home display.
League: IK Sirius 1-0 Tord
Still poor away form though, we weren't great but didn't deserve to lose in my opinion.
Swedish Cup 3rd Round: Tord 1-2 Mjallby
We were kindly handed a 2nd home draw in 9 years both of which have been against current Swedish champions, Mjallby. They scored an early goal which we responded well to. Peter Jansson (YP33) eventually got us the equaliser we deserved just after the hour mark. It was all for nothing though as Mjallby scored again with 15 mins remaining.
League: Gefle 2-0 Tord
We did well in the 1st half at keeping Gefle at bay but we let ourselves down in the 2nd half. Gefle scored twice in quick succession which we just couldn't come back from.
League: Tord 3-0 Kalmar FF
I just don't understand how different we play at home than away. Bojan Ohlsson (YP29) headed us the lead in the 45th min from a freekick. Then half time sub Jonas Andersson (YP27) came on to score twice to settle the tie and claim us a "historic victory."
League: Helsingborg 0-0 Tord
Winless in 8 away games now but i'll just take a point right now. Helsingborg were the slightly better team but both os us were rather poor.
Euro U19 Championship Quals
U19 2nd Qual Stage: Sweden U19's 0-1 German U19's
We outplayed them in the 1st half yet still found oursleves a goal down at half time. The Germans took control of the game in the 2nd half and could have quite easily added to their lead but didn't.
U19 2nd Qual Stage: Sweden U19's 1-1 Switzerland U19's
Tried a change of formation for this match switching from 4-4-2 to my favoured 4-1-3-2 and it worked really well. With a bit of luck on our side we may have won this one as well. We were by far the better team but it looked to be one of those games when the Swiss scored 10 mins into the 2nd half. But Soren Ozgun equalised late in the 84th min to rescue a point.
U19 2nd Qual Stage: Belarus U19's 1-1 Sweden U19's
Again with a bit of luck on our side we may have won this one but it was not to be and wouldn't have helped anyway. And again we went a goal behind despite being the better team. Marcus Granqvist levelled things up just before half time but we didn't push on and get the winner in the 2nd half.
Oh the horrible irony. You get your first cup home tie in nine years and it's against the bloody champions. I'd be writting to the Swedish FA if I were you.
Congrats on the u19 job, brilliant progress as always.
shame about the youth products but as you & others have said after a year or so they can become better then what we first think.
edit: just gotta reply to a post made by branwell bronte, about becoming a bit of a tord fan :P.
I'm sure they have more fans now then what they first thought too :P
It's so typical, when I saw my team get drawn at home I got excited. That excitement lasted until I clicked "draw next team"
Thanks, the youth intake wasn't as bad as I 1st thought:
Hakan Neilsen (YP47) is now 1st choice left back and despite only being 1.5* ability he has got an average rating of almost 7 in the 15 games he has played this season. He has also moved to 4.5*potential.
The other guy has been terrible though![]()
At least Neilsen is performing decenthope he continues it, it will only help
At Huddersfield I had a left back rated 1* & he was performing better then my 4* lb so I thought he can play every week ^^.
June 2027
Friendly: Croatia U19's 3-0 Sweden U19's
My 1st opportunity to be incredibly biased. I selected everyone from Tord who was eligible to play for the U19's, that was a total of 5 players all of whom were in the starting line up. That may have been the reason why we lost quite heavily to a team who are fairly similar to us.
Friendly: Moldova U19's 1-1 Sweden U19's
4 started this match and they all improved although it was against Moldova. Tommy Gonzales gave us the lead in the 24th min but the 1st major impact one of my youth players had on the international scene was an own goal. Magnus Kjellman (YP45) put it into his own net early in the 2nd half to give the Moldovans the draw.
League: Tord 0-1 Mjallby
Did well to only lose by the one goal, were maybe unfortunate to do so but I was stillhappy with the display.
League: Syrianska FC 0-2 Tord
\o/ Our 1st away win of the season and it was very much deserved. Magnus Kjellman (YP45) finding the right net for his club to give us the lead 4 mins into the 2nd half. Peter Jansson (YP33) sealed the win in the 90th min.
League: Tord 2-0 Djurgarden
Literally 2 identical goals just at different ends of the pitch. 2 freekicks in wide positions whipped into the box where Magnus Kjellman (YP45) was on hand to head home both times.
July 2027
League: Halmstad 0-2 Tord
Just like London buses, we got our 2nd away win right after the 1st. Bojan Ohlsson (YP29) gave us the lead in the 9th min and Peter Jansson (YP33) added a 2nd 8 mins into the 2nd half.
League: Malmo FF 4-1 Tord
Well that's an abrubt end to our winning streak. Malmo took a while to get going but when they did they were unstoppable. Peter Jansson (YP33) managed to get a consolation goal for us.
League: Tord 1-0 Elfsborg
A deserved win although we made it much harder work than it should have been. Jorgen Melki (YP37) got the winner in the 57th min.
League: Tord 1-1 Djurgarden
Djurgarden took the lead halfway through the 1st half but Anton Dahlberg (YP30) equalise shortly after. The 2nd half was uneventful except for our 1 golden opportunity to win the match but Peter Jansson (YP33) skewed it wide.
You're still looking good though, moral must be much higher this season?
Holding your own now mate.
Just keep on at the board to upgrade everything and you will succeed in the venture I am sure
Told you that left back looked like he would be good!
Your players will get a nose-bleed if you go too much further up the table! How high do you need to finish to get into Europe?
Top 2 I think:
