just read all the way through and find this a great read, infact it has taken 2 days at work! so i got home late last night and thought i will give it a go myself!
good luck in the future and looking forward to read more.
Which is better, a youth academy or upgraded youth facilities? Or, more to the point, what effect does each have? Congrats either way![]()
Academy means more youths of better quality, facilities helps them reach there potential. So it depends what you look for
Flamers
In my experiences of throwing high PA and low CA youngsters in and giving them lots of first team football over anything else I'd prefer the Academy as a first step, not so much point enabling youngsters to reach not that great potential. Incidentally with my love of Sweden reawakened I've started a Sweden-only save (this from someone for whom 8-10 nations is rather small). Not sure how much play it'll get but it'll go by very fast when I do and should provide interesting experiences and cement it as a favourite FM nation. Starting out in the 2nd Div as well, though with 'predicted top' Enkoppings instead of 'predicted bottom' Tord. Plus my favourite muppet is the Swedish Chef so what's not to like about the place?
Thanks for the replies. I think I built the wrong one at Tonbridge in my game then (facilities), considering that a polished turd is still a turd! Also, ditto deltablue - Sweden is now firmly on my list of countries to try and will be loaded next time I start a new game!
in this footbal manager there is only 1 GREAT choice: "Youth Recruitment Network". if this is on a good level the best players will come to your team. also it hasn't absolutely to do with the facilities if a youngster is going to reach his potential but it has more to do with his PROFESSIONALISM.
Good Luck with Enkoppings
Thanks and good luck if you decide to attempt it yourself
lol it's the agent's fault they need to know their market
Thanks
Oh of coursestill excited though
Thanks everyone for all the support![]()

Key: This Season (Last Season)
As you all know I managed to convince the board to build a Youth Academy that will be finished at the start of next season.
I have brought in 2 new coahes, Johan Svensson and Benny Ljungberg. They aren't great but they are the best I can get on my budget.
3 new youth players:
Simon Berisha (YP31) (MC) - Report
Par Eklund (YP32) (DM, MC) - Report
Peter Jansson (YP33) (ST) - Report
I have also sold Johan Bystrom (YP2) to LB07 for a club record £10k. He was unhappy, wanted to leave and was playing rubbish. Also his £400/week wage was too much for the standard of play.
He isn't even on the club's favoured personnel list but I think he has been a legend at the club. His 101 goals in 280 appearances were vital especially in the earlier seasons when we were lower down the leagues. I think the 2nd tier was a step too far for him.
Friendlies
Lindome 1-0 Tord
Varbergs BOIS 1-0 Tord
Norrby 1-3 Tord
Assmundtorp 2-1 Tord
Jonsered 1-3 Tord
I tried setting up big friendly matches from Flamers's suggestion but no one would accept so I gave up for this season. I'll definately try again next season.
I see you like playing narrow :P
Flamers
Congratulations on the youth academy improvement.
Can I be rude and ask in here how I go about getting a youth academy on FM10? Do I just have to keep asking for them to improve my youth facilities and eventually it will come?
great read keep it up mate
Well done on getting the youth academy built. I can tell you from experience that you will note no significant difference in the carp that come through!
Good luck for this season, your accountancy skills with the budgets are very impressive.
Yer my preferred formations are narrow + I don't get many decent wingers through the youth.
Thanks, to elaborate on what SnakeXe said I think it is the last upgrade of your youth facilities.
Thanks
Thanks, \o/ thats good to hear about the youth academy /sarcasm. Oh well surely it can't hinder my youth players
April 2022
League: Tord 2-1 GIF Sundsvall
We conceded early but were quick to reply. Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) opened his account for the season in the 14th min to equalise. Despite it being a very even game we managed to nick a winner. Anders Axelsson (YP20) heading home from a free kick with less than 15 mins lefton the clock.
Swedish Cup 2nd Round: Linkoping 1-0 Tord
Our 7th consecutive away tie in the cup and whats more they stole my tactic. What made it even worse was they then proceeded to beat me with it. A goal just before half time was enough to separate the two sides. The wait for a home cup match goes on for another year.
League: Atvidaverg 0-2 Tord
2 wins from 2 in the league now. Again a very even game but Atvidaberg were punished for switching off 5 mins before half time. Both Anton Dahlberg (YP30) and Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) scored just before half time give us an unlikely 3 points against one of the favourites for promotion.
League: Tord 1-1 Degerfors
Our luck ran out in this match, Degerfors took a 1st half lead and would have got all 3 points if it weren't for a decent Johan Heinonen strike midway through the 2nd half.
League: Brommapojkarna 1-0 Tord
Our 1st league loss and deservedly so, we haven't played well so far but have been riding our luck.
May 2022
League: Tord 1-0 Umea FC
A pretty rubbish match but we managed to get 3 points and thats what matters. Johan Heinonen grabbed the only goal of the game early in the 2nd half with a tap in.
League: Sleipner 0-1 Tord
A shock win away to top of the league Sleipner. Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) scored in 1st half injury time, we didn't really deserve the win but we'll take it.
League: Tord 1-1 Hacken
The one match we play reasonably well in and we draw it. Anders Svensson (YP16) headed home from a corner but Hacken equalised just before half time and thats the way it stayed.
League: Ljungskile 1-1 Tord
A fair result in the end but Ljungskile will feel hard done by. They took the lead in the 24th min but Anders Svensson (YP16) scored his 2nd in as many matches in the 89th min.
League: Halmstad 0-1 Tord
Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) scored his 4th of the season as we scraped a win over a hard fighting Halmstad. We did lose Anton Alvefelt (YP1) for about 3 weeks though.
League: Tord 0-1 Oster
Embarrassing. We go 1-0 down late in the 1st half. They get a man sent off in the 56th min but we still manage to lose it. I expected us to at least try and get a goal back but we were void of quality this match.
I have also sacked my previous assistant manager in favour of former player Joachim Dahlstrom, he only made 27 appearances for the club but did score 5 goals including some crackers. Also his stats are so much better than my last assistant.
Other staff news: Both Johan Heinonen and Isaac Blixt are looking to stay in the game when they retire. They are looking to become a coach and assistant manager respectively. I will probably sign both of them into my backroom staff when I can

Promising start, winning ugly is always nice! Hopefully you'll start playing better soon.
Ah damn. Got to keep playing then and getting through the seasons so that I can finally get better facilities! I think my crappy training facilities might be holding back the development of some of my young players actually.
Sorry for hijacking your thread hrbfcrule.![]()
nice start to the season mate. lets hope you can keep the form up
Keep it up! This is the greatest career for FM 11 without doubt.
June 2022
League: Tord 0-0 Vasby
I was expecting to win this and we really should have done if we want to be serious about our title push. Unfortunately we couldn't finish our chances although the general performance was much better.
League: Syrianska Kerburan 0-0 Tord
We got pretty battered in this match but somehow held on to claim a draw. We either play well at home or away we can never do both.
League: Oddevold 0-0 Tord
Another goalless draw to continue probably the most boring month for Tord fans. So much so that they would probably prefer a month in the off-season instead of this. Just the one shot on target in total in the whole game.
League: Tord 1-0 Norrkoping
No I am not joking there was actually a goal in this match. So close to a completely goalless month until Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) scored in the 86th min to grab us the win.
Despite these average results we are top. Everyone else have been dropping points just as badly which will make for an exciting 2nd half of the season as it is so tight throughout the whole table.
Also I find it amusing that we are top having scored 11 goals in 14 matches. A Hacken player already has 10 goals for the season, nearly as much as our whole squad.
Wow, great league position even if results have been... average!Promotion is genuinely on the cards now!
Wow that league is ridiculously tight! Biggest gap between any consecutive places is just 2 points, amazing. Hopefully you'll stay ahead of the pack, good luck!
Keep it up! Promotion this year for certain! And about time, I might add.![]()
There seems to be a bit of a goal drought in Sweden at the moment!![]()
keep on mate! you can do that!!!
Thanks for all the comments guys. Doing the next few updates now.
July 2022
League: Degerfors 1-0 Tord
A very tight game in which we had the better chances. However it was Degerfors who nabbed the win with a great effort from 25 yards.
League: Tord 1-0 Atvidaberg
A deserved win, Anders Svensson (YP16) getting the only goal of the game midway through the 1st half. the win pushes us back into the promotion places after briefly slipping out of them.
League: GAIS 1-0 Tord
Another unfortunate loss, GAIS netted from their only shot on target and indeed the only shot on target in the whole match. It looked like it was destined for a 0-0 draw but we just couldn't hold on to the point.
League: GIF Sundsvall 0-1 Tord
A great day for Jimmy Froberg (YP28) who managed to net his 1st goal for the club in his 31st appearance. His goal 4 mins into the 2nd half was also enough for all the points.
League: Tord 0-0 Brommapojkarna
We were really unlucky not to win this one, we were the better team throughout the match and had a glorious chance when Brommapojkarna went down to 10 men for the last 20 mins thanks to a red card. We couldn't take full advantage of this despite hitting the post in the dying seconds.
August 2022
League: Umea FC 1-1 Tord
So close to the win and yet so far. Peter Jansson (YP33) scored his 1st for the club in the 65th min to give us the lead which our play deserved. But Umea hit back late in injury time to nick a point.
League: Tord 3-3 Sleipner
I think we may have given half the crowd heart attacks. 6 goals in a game. We took the lead 3 times yet couldn't hold onto any of them for more than 10 mins. Jonas Andersson (YP27) gave us the lead in the 36th min but Sleipner equalised in injury time. Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) gave us the lead for a 2nd time in the 58th min but just 5 mins later Sleipner were back level. For the 3rd time Peter Jansson (YP33) gave us the lead with his 2nd in as many games but 9 mins later Sleipner equalised.
typical we score 3 goals for the 1st time this season and still don't win.
League: Hacken 1-0 Tord
We were obviously still shocked about the number of goals in the last match. We kept giving the ball away to the opposition and they made us pay. We never really created any decent chances this match even after going one down. Overall a disappointing result and performance.
League: Oster 1-1 Tord
For some reason we are struggling to hold onto our leads at the moment. Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) gave us the lead in the 1st half but we were pegged back before half time. Another draw, we are winless in 5 yet still in with a chance of promotion as everyone seems to be slipping each other up.
It's worth noting that 5 of our last 7 games are at home which could give us a crucial advantage in the promotion race.
You can do this
You can do it !
;-)
Come on Tord hopefully you can the automatic promotion spot to save the agony of the playoffs, Good Luck
Just started reading this last week and have really enjoyed it! Love the youth experiment. I've always loved trying to bring youth players through and make a great team, but to base the whole team around it and do so well so quickly is quite impressive. Hoping you can hold onto the playoff spot now that first has kind of kicked away, but regardless, the last two seasons are proving great building blocks for when your time comes to make the step up!
September 2022
League: Tord 2-0 Halmstad
Our 1st win in 6 games comes courtesy of a Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) brace in the 1st half. 2 well taken goals which continues his good form of 4 in 4 games. Unfortunately he got a yellow card (his 5th of the season) so will miss the next game.
League: Tord 1-0 Ljungskile
Turns out we didn't need him but only just. Lars Lundgren (YP21) was there to save us in the 21st min. He jinked past a defender on the edge of the area before slamming it low into the bottom corner.
League: Vasby 1-2 Tord
We were a bit fortunate to come away with the win here but who cares, except Vasby and their fans. We also managed to score twice in a minute Johan Heinonen scoring the 1st then from the kick off we tackle their player before Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) scores the 2nd. Vasby did get one back in the 90th min but it wasn't enough.
League: Tord 5-3 Syrainska Kerburan
Where did this come from???? Not only were there 8 goals but the game was reasonably interesting as well, not like all our 0-0's and 1-0's. Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) gave us an early lead before a Jonas Anderson (YP27) penalty doubled our advantage. We continued the scoring in the 2nd half when Pontus Lagerlund (YP24) slotted home from a corner. Of course we had to make it difficult for ourselves so we gave away a cheap goal. Our 4th came from another corner this time Tony Thoren (YP5) was on hand to put it away. Syrainska brought the difference back down to 2 goals in the 72nd min and scared me even more when they made it 4-3 in the 92nd min. I needn't have worries though as Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) and Pontus Lagerlund (YP24) played a lovely one two with the latter applying the finish.
Those were Pontus Lagerlund (YP24)'s 1st goals for over 18 hours, and he is meant to be my 2nd best striker.
![]()
Thanks, I think the reason I have been able to move up the leagues so "quickly" is beacuse there isn't a huge amount of difference in quality in the lower divisions (eg. the last 2 seasons a team from the 3rd tier have got consecutive promotions to the 1st tier without a tycoon takeover.) The major differences will be in the Swedish Premier League and then beyond that Europe.
Teams in the final of the Swedish Cup for the past 12 seasons:
13 from Swedish Premier
7 from 2nd Tier
3 from 3rd Tier
1 from 4th Tier
Either the Premiership sides don't take it seriously (they should there is a Euro Cup place at stake) or the Premiership isn't too far ahead of the other divisions
It seems like 1st haven't kicked away at all, they only managed 1 draw in September and are now struggling![]()

Gratz on 1st!
Flamers
What a September! Keep that up and you'll power away from the pack![]()
This season is just epic.
keep it up hrbfcrule 3 games left I would presume so in your hands now.
What tier are you in again?
Heh, I love it when things go right! Three games to go, don't bottle it!![]()
October 2022
League: Tord 0-1 Oddevold
We went down to a very early goal in the 1st min. We fought back but couldn't find an equaliser. There is now only 1 point between the top 4 teams with 2 games remaining.
League: Norrkoping 0-1 Tord
A vital win and it could just be the result that sees us get promotion. Johan Heinonen got the goal which was the 500th we have have scored in my reign as Tord manager.
League: Tord 0-1 GAIS
We knew a draw would definately see us promoted and even if we lost we had a decent chance. Well you know we love to do things the hard way so lose we did. It was unfortunate as we deserved at least a point but now everything rests on other results. . . .
you don't score many goals do you
the tension is unbearable!
End of Season Report: IK Tord Swedish First Division Elite, 2022
League Table, League Graph
Squad
We got off to a decent start with only 1 loss in the 1st 9 league games. But we struggled through the middle art of the season, this coincided with Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) going off form. Luckily we didn't damage our promotion hopes too much. In the closing stages we refound some form and 4 wins from 4 in September put is in a very favourable position for promotion. However we always make it difficult for ourselves and proceeded too lose 2 of the remaining 3 matches. This put our promotion hopes in a bit of trouble but thankfully other teams struggled and we even managed to finish top of the table with a measly 49 points.
To put the points total in perspective in the past 12 seasons 49 points would have once seen you into the promotion playoff place and all the other times it you would have finished 4th or lower. So we didn't really win the title because we were good but moreso that everyone else was crap. Not complaining though we are into the top tier
Swedish Cup
Another away draw, making it 7 in a row. Went out at the 1st hurdle 1-0 to Linkoping who are 2 divisions below us.
Youth Players (At the Club)
Anton Alvefelt (YP1) - Assisstant doesn't rate him but he put in another great season I am glad I stuck by him now because a few seasons ago I was considering selling him.
Tony Thoren (YP5) - Another one who is slowly improving, another solid season nothing spectacular.
Filip Linder (YP6) - A fantastic season for him, conceding just 20 in 30 games along with 14 clean sheets.
Niklas Andersson (YP7) - Only made 1 appearance, only keeping him for back up now. I really need a new keeper soon as Niklas Andersson (YP7) may be on his way pretty soon.
Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) - Not as good as last season but still one of our best performers. His importance to the team was exposed when he lost form midway through the season. We dropped a lot of points then but soon enough he was banging them in again. 11 goals from 27 appearances.
Fredrik Lundgren (YP10) - Again didn't make an appearance and is about to leave the club as his contract nears its end
Stefan Nilsson (YP13) - Our best player of the season according to average rating considering we only conceded 21 in 31 this season you can see why.
Anders Svensson (YP16) - Again his goalscoring ability was on show he netted another 3 this season. It may not sound a lot but he was our 3rd highest scorer.
Christoffer Zekria (YP17) - Decided not to renew his contract so he will be gone at the end of this season, never really fulfilled his potential despite numerous opportunities.
Lars Lundgren (YP18) - Another who is on his way out, wouldn't sign a new contract his reason being that he wanted to join a bigger club. Fair enough I guess. He had interest from League 2 Southampton and others of around that calibre. He then rejected them a signed for GIF Sundsvall the team who finised 13th in the division I'm in.Muppet.
Anders Axelsson (YP20) - I said he was the weak link in our defence last season well not any more. He improved greatly and had his best season ever by a mile.
Fredrik Berg (YP21) - Again didn't make a start but did come off the bench a few times. Will probably let him see out his contract as he isn't improving.
Marcus Johansson (YP22) - He will be leaving at the end of his contract as well. With Peter Jansson (YP33) looking promising he has no future at the club.
Mattias Hakansson (YP23) - Has got too big for his boots and requested a transfer. Won't sign a new contract so will leave at the end of the season. I'm gutted as he looked like he would be a good player.
Pontus Lagerlund (YP24) - Managed to end his goal drought this season but that was the only highlight in an otherwise poor season.
Jonas Widmark (YP25) - Has been pushed out the 1st team a bit by new players coming in but has been reliable when called upon.
Joakim Lindqvist (YP26) - Again not great, will be on his way out soon.
Jonas Andersson (YP27) - Has held onto his place in the 1st team. Didn't reach the dizzying heights of last season but nevertheless a good season for him.
Jimmy Froberg (YP28) - Will be on his way out soon, he just isn't cutting it.
Bojan Ohlsson (YP29) - Did well when called upon but due to our very strong defence he didn't get many opportunities.
Anton Dahlberg (YP30) - Not as good as last season but a decent performance nonetheless
Simon Berisha (YP31) - Only made 1 appearance and didn't do great but he is rated 4* potential so definately 1 for the future.
Par Eklund (YP32) - Only 3 appearances but with a fair few midfielders leaving at the end of this season he should get a chance next season.
Peter Jansson (YP33) - A good 1st season 2 goals and 5 assists, should be a good replacement for Fredrik Karlsson (YP8)
Finances - Only £69k prize money this season but I assume that's because we got promoted so we should ake in the cash next season.

Flamers
Well done mate, that's a great achievement reaching the top tier, hopefully you can stay up next season and build on it.![]()
Finally. Weird that you had a near enough similar record last year and didn't get promoted and this year you won it. Let's hope you can stay up.
Amazing season, and a totally deserved promotion - a low points total just means the league is strong! Good luck in the top flight - any large financial bonuses from being involved like the EPL?
will do
Thanks, the tv money is just under double but the main thing is the attendances and season tickets. For example I just played my 1st home game and got a crowd of 3.5k whereas I get just over 1k in the 2nd tier.
Good luck in the top flight. Hopefully, you can really kick on now with the likely increased income.

Key: This Season (Last Season)
The youth academy is almost complete, the cost of it is apparently 450k.
Also I got a new sponsorship deal which is twice as much as our last one
We say goodbye to Isaac Blixt who retired at the end of last season, he made 246 appearances for the club scoring 13 times and creating 47 goals. He is now an assistant manager/coach but refuses to join Tord. That just leaves Johan Heinonen as the only player who has been here from the very start.
The youth intake this year was insane and this was without the youth academy:
Matthias Gustafsson (YP34) (DM, MC) - Report - Already rated as highest potential at the club
Hakan Larsson (YP35) (DM, MC) - Report - 3rd highest potential at the club
Daniel Ung (YP36) (GK) - Report - Will probably mean Niklas Andersson (YP7) will be on his way out
Jorgen Melki (YP37) (DM, MC) - Report
Only problem is that 3 of them are midfielders

Told ya you'd do it! Well done! I find it even more amazing since your players are hardly awesome in skill. My Prestatyn players are better than that, even the ones coming out of the Academy.![]()
You wait til he gets his super-awesome academy...
Flamers
Did you schedule difficult friendlies for money or were just crap? Not a pre-season to fill you with confidence otherwise.
Well done man, good luck on staying up!
Amazing stuff on getting to the top! Matthias Gustafsson looks like he could become a star for you!
First comment here, awesome story on the way! When it comes to the new youth intake, have you considered retraining one of the new DMs to CB? Their stats look like they should be able to handle it quite well.
By the way, how is Djurgċrden doing?
I have considered training Jorgen Melki (YP37) to CB the only problem is his lack of pace otherwise he generally looks like a good choice for CB.
Here is Djurgarden's League History, they haven't done great. Their best finish has been 3rd place in the Premier Division.
The cup has been a bit of a disappointment as well, once reaching a semi final and once reaching the quarters but thats it.
Have been in Europe for 1 season and that was in 2013 where they got to the 3rd qual round of the Euro Cup.
Yes I have high hopes for him, I just hope he is loyal to the club unlike some of my other players.
Thanks
Yer my players look terrible stats-wise but somehow they keep performing.
I took Flamers's advice and scheduled friendlies against foreign temas for extra cash. Thats why we got thrashed in the 1st 4. The last 2 were Swedish teams who we really should have beaten.
April 2023
League: Tord 1-3 IK Sirius
A very good performance to mark our 1st match in the Premier Division yet not the result we wanted. The stats were pretty much identical, same number of shot, shots on target, clear cut chances, etc except the one that mattered. We managed to take the lead when Anders Svensson (YP16) headed home from a freekick. But we collapsed just before half time conceding 3 in under 15 mins to effectively end the game. We couldn't come back from that in the 2nd half so ended our 1st match in the top tier with a loss.
League: IFK Goteborg 4-1 Tord
This could be a long season if we can't even find a bit of luck. Admittedly we were battered for 90 mins but depite the opposition domination they only had 4 shots on target in the whole match. Unfortunately all 4 of these shots were goals. Simon Berisha (YP31) did grab a consolation goal in the 80th min though.
League: Tord 1-0 Hammarby Fotboll
A win, A WIN!!!! We should have been ahead in the 33rd min when Jonas Andersson (YP27) missed a penalty. But luckily it didn't make too much of a difference in the final outcome because Tony Thoren (YP5) gave us the 3 points when he headed home 11 mins later.
League: Kalmar FF 1-1 Tord
Woooo more points, well more point anyway. We were pretty damn lucky to be honest. We went 1-0 down in the 16th min and then went a man down in the 69th min when Stefan Nilsson (YP13) got sent off. But in the 94th min Hakan Larsson (YP35) scored a deflected freekick to recue a point.
League: Malmo FF 2-0 Tord
I was bricking it for this match as I knew Malmo were a relatively decent side (as in I had heard of them before I started this save). My fears were confirmed when they quickly went 1-0 up. We regrouped well and held on till half time. It all went pearr shaped in the 2nd half when Anders Svensson (YP16) and Anders Axelsson (YP20) both got sent off, in the 58th and 62nd mins respectively. We hung on for dear life hoping for just 1 chance to steal a point, that didn't come and Malmo killed the game off with a 2nd goal in the 84th min.
Congrats on your first win as a top-division side![]()
May 2023
League: Tord 0-3 Gefle
Another battering, not much more to say really.
League: Djurgarden 0-1 Tord
Shock result \o/. We kinda deserved the win as well, Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) scored his 1st of the season just past the hour mark to seal a surprise win. Inflicting Djurgarden's 1st loss of the season.
Swedish Cup 3rd Round: Vasteras SK e3-2 Tord
Surprise surprise another away draw. We almost got past it as well. Both teams played terribly the 1st shot on target coming in the 72nd min. We went 1-0 up thanks to an own goal, the guy who scored the own goal then got himself sent off early in the 2nd half (I didn't bribe him honestly
). Marcus Johansson (YP22) made it 2-0 in the 72nd min. Then came a great comeback (not as good as Newcastle's against Arsenal) they scored in the 78th and 89th min to take the game to extra time. In extra time they proceeded to score the winner, injure two of my players and help a 3rd get himself sent off.
League: Tord 0-0 Helsingborg
A fantastic result against the league leaders especially considering we had a cup match go into extra time just 3 days ago. We even had a chance to win it at the end when they got a man sent off but Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) missed a golden opportunity.
League: Trelleborg 0-0 Tord
Woo another point. Trelleborg were the slightly better team but our defence was strong and we restricted their chance and pressured them into missing the ones they did create.
Looks like you're beginning to acclimatise to life at the top quite well! Keep picking points up on a regular basis and you'll be fine.
Brilliant start, KUTGW! Barring a bad run, you'll be fine in this league!
Some quality teams up there. Excellent result against Helsingborg. Staying up will be a massive achievement.
My guess: if you are EVER tempted to reload and re-try, it's to see if you can get a home cup draw.![]()
Thanks guys, I may be picking up points but I am getting really lucky in doing so. I am being played off the park almost every game, occasionally I can match my opponent and even then i'll need a bit of luck to win.
That's the real challenge. Winning the Champions League is easy it's getting the home draw that's the main goal
Also if I had won that match against Vasteras SK I would have been given another away draw![]()
June 2023
League: Tord 1-1 GAIS
GAIS were the better team in the 1st half and got a goal to show for it. We came back into the game in the 2nd half but it looked like they would hold on for all 3 points until Peter Jansson (YP33)'s shot from the edge of the area nestled into the bottom corner in the 90th min.
League: AIK 2-0 Tord
We did reasonably well until the hour mark. We held them off very well but a couple of defensive mistakes allowed them to score twice in quick succession and get the 3 points. We were never in any danger of threatening their goal.
League: Tord 1-1 Assyriska
We conceded in the 6th min but our chances of getting something from this match was boosted when they got a man sent off in the 26th min. Anders Axelsson (YP20) being the kind player he is returned the favour early in the 2nd half after 2 yellow cards. We started playing better now that the teams were even again strangely enough. It all kicked off in the last 10 minbs where we twice hit the post in a matter of minutes before Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) finally found the net in the 86th min.
WOWOWOO brilliant progress! top flight *dances irl*
Congrats on the upgrade, on promotion, and on that first win!
Any chance of an update on how Huddersfield Town are doing? no need for the in depth if you do, league position is great, cheers regardless![]()
Thanks
Here is their League History
They were so close to Premier League football in 2019/20 but lost out in the Playoff semi final to Watford
Cups have been unspectacular, highlights being a quarter final and a semi final appearance in the JPT.
Keep it up hrbfc, so long as the points keep coming you've got a chance. I know how it is to be a team far behind the rest in the division, and you're coping with it far better than I did!
July 2023
League: Orebro 3-1 Tord
We started off the month with a disappointing loss to the bottom side. We started well but then conceded twice in 3 mins which really set us back. Johan Heinonen looked to put us on the road to recovery when he scored in the 56th min but Orebro scored again soon after to finish us off.
League: Tord 0-1 Mjallby
Really thought we would get something from this and probably would have done if the ref hadn't given the opposition a controversial penalty which they got the winner from.
League: IK Sirius 0-1 Tord
Phew. Really needed the win, our 1st in 9 matches. It was actually on tv as well. Fredrik Karlsson (YP8)'s early strike was enough for all 3 points. Maybe there's hope for us yet.
League: Tord 0-2 IFK Goteborg
We did so well for so long but it was all in vain. IFK Goteborg scored in the 69th min and then again in the 92nd. We had more than matched them up to that point.
League: Elfsborg 0-0 Tord
The aim was not to lose, we couldn't afford to lose against one of the bottom 6 clubs. As you can see from the table it looks like the bottom 6 will be fighting each other for safety.
Wow, it's tight at the bottom! If things carry on though, you should just sneak it - at worst, maybe the play-off.
I hate relegation battles like that. You are on tenter hooks for every game, and you rarely get to relax during a game. Even the goal difference can be crucial, so you worry about every goal you ship in a loss. Makes for a very nervy season.
All the better reason to celebrate when you stay up!![]()
you pre season says 2000-1 for promotion?
you have Malmo and Goteborg so you must be top flight now? is this a typo?
Lets hope you can stay up
I think it bodes well that there are so many teams down there, gives you an excellent chance of at least escaping the automatic relegation spots.
Yer hopefully if we keep picking up the occasional points like we have been doing then we will do enough to survive.
I am celebrating every point, even the 0-0 draws. That's the great thing about not expecting anything from every match.
Yer it's a typo it should be Title instead of Promotion, thanks for pointing it out i'll change it now.
Yer although I am quite woried that some of them will start picking up some form which I just won't be able to compete with
It'll be r'ite
Flamers
Gonna have to start a save in this league, so tight!
By the way, thanks for the post with Huddersfield's league history, (y).
wow, 4 points between the bottom 6 teams, I would just focus on being the best of the worst for now, also with you being in the Premier League, if you stay up will you get a better quality of intake because of the higher league rep and youth academy?
I hope so
No problem
Yer if I stay up the youth intake will be much better. There was a clear difference between this year's intake and the year before's intake. Also I now have a Youth Academy so hopefully they will be even better
August 2023
League: Hammarby Fotboll 1-0 Tord
A disappointing loss, we really need to beat the teams around us. Unfortunately we got absolutely battered and ended up conceding just after half time. We had a few chances to snatch an equaliser but we didn't do so.
League: Tord 1-0 Kalmar FF
A shock win which makes up for the abysmal performance last match. Peter Jansson (YP33) grabbed the only goal of the game in the 10th min. It was very much a snatch and grab affair as we played off the park fo the majority of the match. A nice way to celebrate my 400th match in charge
League: Tord 0-4 Malmo FF
We did alright ntil we go a man sent off, our 3rd red card against Malmo this season. Even after we were down to 10 men we played admirably but Malmo had one of those days which everything they hit turned to goals.
League: Gefle 2-0 Tord
Another awful display, we conceded twice in the opening 15 mins which completely deflated us. It could have been a much worse scoreline if Gefle had taken their chances.
