Incredibly tight league, you could be relegated or finish 7th! Amazing. Good luck![]()
Yer it's ridiculous how close the league is. Thanks for the good lucks but it didn't help.
League: Tord 1-2 Vasalund
We got off to a bad start when Vasalund scored in the 6th min but we came back strongly. Johan Bystrom (YP2) equalised in the 32nd min no less than our dominance deserved. The injustice continued when Vasalund went 2-1 up despite being easily the worst team on the pitch. We couldn't get another equaliser so therefore must face the dreaded relegation playoffs![]()
Cristiano Ronaldo back at Man Utd, who would have thought it.
Relegation Playoff Update to come
Well, you finally managed to fulfill my promise for last season: playoffs!!!![]()
Good luck in playoffs man.
you can do it mate. All out attack.
Better to die fighting than not at least have go. How is your standing with the board?
Good luck in the playoffs, hope you repeat last year's success!
Good Luck in the Playoffs. I predict a narrow escape - not because you're Team isn't good enough, but because I always find the game has a way of making it tense for you...
Thanks for the good luck messages guys. Update will be done shortly
My standing with the board is secure (55%). It normally ranges from around 50 to 70% during the season.
First Division Elite Relegation Playoff 1st Leg: Karlslund 1-1 Tord
It was a terrible game as you can tell by the shots in the match stats. It sparked into life in the dying mins though, despite not getting a single shot on target in the match we managed to take the lead. Their defender managed to (un)fortunately head into his own net from a Stefan Nilsson (YP13) cross in the 89th min. It looked like that goal would give us an undeserved victory but they hit back very late on. The 4th official indicated 3 mins of added time but the game continued to the 97th min. They took full advantage of this by scoring in the 96th min, a route one ball over the top was then squared into the area where their striker was on hand to prod it home. Still we have an away goal so it's not all bad.
First Division Elite Relegation Playoff 2nd Leg: Tord (3) 2-1 (2) Karlslund
A much more exciting game as I went back to a 4-1-2-3 (my home tactic) as opposed to a 4-1-3-2 (away tactic). We started poorly and to be totally honest I thought we were going back down when they scored in the 4th min but a vital goal by Johan Bystrom (YP2) just before half time gave us the belief that we could do it. I think if we had been a goal down at half time we wouldn't have come back from it. Lars Lundgren (YP18)'s free kick was headed across goal by Anders Svensson (YP16). Johan Bystrom (YP2) was in the right place at the right time to tap it in from a couple of yards. Johan Bystrom (YP2) then set up the winner with a killer through ball to Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) who finished perfectly into the bottom corner. The match was not over though as another goal for Karlslund would see the game swing in their favour. They came close to this in the 91st min when their striker had a clean run at the goal but Filip Linder (YP6) made a fantastic save, just pushing it past the post. A nerve racking and thrilling game. Over the 2 legs I would say we were the slightly better team although there isn't too much in it.
<Lol> Chutney and I should go into the predictions business. Just remind me to be very specific as to my meanings...
And congrats on staying up!!!!
I think DSYoungEsq has the edge over me in terms of predictions, as I tend to go for one-off matches (or in this case two-legged affairs) only, rather than his (rather vague) seasonal predictions...
I am pretty chuffed that I got it right (especially as it means you stay in the Division!)
Now that we have "conspired" to help you out, make sure next year is an improvement! - Speaking of which, as the last couple of years seem to have been regressions, do you think this challenge is beginning to look beyond you? (I'd like to point out that I don't think it is impossible, I was just wondering what you (and anyone else, for that matter) felt???)
One wave of poor youths though could set a team back for a while..

End of Season Report: IK Tord Swedish First Division Elite, 2020
League Table, League Graph
Squad, Transfers
We started off really well. Just coming up to the halfway stage we were sitting in 5th but then disaster struck as we collapsed to 7 defeats in 8 games which left us in the relegation zone. We picked oursleves up and managed 4 wins and 2 draws in the next 6 games which seemed to take us to safety. However we got complacent and lost the last 3 games which we should have won. This dumped us into the relegation playoff zone . . . .
1st leg
2nd leg
We managed to scrape though, far from convincing but I'm just gald we managed to stay up.
Swedish Cup
Got past the 1st round this time with a nervy 1-0 win over lower league opposition but then fell at the next hurdle by the same scoreline to a team in the same tier as our opponents in the 1st round.
Youth Players (At the Club)
Anton Alvefelt (YP1) - Clearly not up to the standard of this level but neither is most of the squad.
Johan Bystrom (YP2) - Has had a few awful seasons recently but he put those behind him with a much better season this time around. Still much room for improvement but I am glad he is performing more to his capabilities.
Tony Thoren (YP5) - A decent season, one of the better performers of the season which, at an average rating of 6.78, says a lot about how we performed this season.
Filip Linder (YP6) - Not a bad season, 7 clean sheets from 33 games and conceding 46.
Niklas Andersson (YP7) - Was hampered by injury at the start of the season and then made noises about wanting to leave the club. Only the solitary appearance this season he did get a clean sheet in it though.
Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) - Was Tord's highest scorer again although he didn't get as many as last season. With Bystrom (YP2) starting to perform it didn't matter too much.
Fredrik Lundgren (YP10) - Didn't make an appearance as I want to get rid of him and he won't terminate his contract.
Stefan Nilsson (YP13) - A much better season, reminiscient of his 1st few seasons at the club and not the last few.
Anders Svensson (YP16) - One of the better players this season, scored 4 times as well making him our 3rd highest scorer.
Christoffer Zekria (YP17) - After Bystrom (YP2) and Karlsson (YP8) we are really struggling for good attacking options. He is the most underperforming of the other strikers.
Lars Lundgren (YP18) - Played alright considering how bad we were throughout the season. He is attracting interest from Swedish Premier Division sides albeit the crappier ones. His contract runs out in 2 years and is refusing to even negotiate a new one so could be on his way in a few seasons. I'm gutted as he is one of best players.
Anders Axelsson (YP20) - Could be a good player for us in the future at only 21 years of age. Was back up for the defence this season but did well in the games he was called up for.
Fredrik Berg (YP21) - Was terrible and will probably leave when his contract runs out in a couple of years. Not improving at all as well as I would have hoped.
Marcus Johansson (YP22) - Another of our terrible back up strikers, just 1 goal in his 5 appearances.
Mattias Hakansson (YP23) - One of our brighter prospects, he is doing reasonably well and hopfully we can keep a hold of him for seasons to come.
Pontus Lagerlund (YP24) - Still rated highly by my assistant but I don't know what he sees in him. 18 appearances and no goals this season, admittedly 16 were off the bench.
Jonas Widmark (YP25) - Has great stats but has lived up to them . . . yet. Still only 18 so I expect him to be much better in a few seasons.
Joakim Lindqvist (YP26) - Made a few appearances but wasn't great
Jonas Andersson (YP27) - Got a good 27 appearances this season, wasn't overly impressive but hopefully the experience will do him good.
Jimmy Froberg (YP28) - Oh dear. 6.31 isn't good but looking on the bright side he is only 17 and he made all his appearances off the bench.
Youth Players (Left the Club)
Miodrag Damjanovic (YP3) - Kept up a decent scoring rate with another 8 in 32 for Klagshamn
Tomas Jonsson (YP4) - Retired
Christer Lindahl (YP9) - Retired
Calle Ewald (YP11) - Continued to be absolutely rubbish
Fredrik Bjork (YP12) - Made just 2 appearances and did rubbsih in both of them.
Paul Johansson (YP14) - Joined Algarna for £2k, made 11 appearances and did rather badly.
Robin Johannesson (YP15) - Joined former teammate Calle Ewald (YP11) at Harnosand and managed to play even worse than him
Martin Andersson (YP19) - 3 goals in 9 appearances for Nybro, not bad but he hasn't been given a good run in the 1st team yet.
Finances - Only £12K League prize money this season meant we only made a small profit but we are slowly making money.

Thanks for the comments guys
I'd like to see what a wave of poor youths looks like after what I've been getting recently
I don't think the challenge is beyond me at all I am still making profit so I am making my way to an improvement on the youth facilities. Also if you look at the table of this last season then a win in the last game would have put me 10th or maybe 9th. If I had won just 2 of the last 3 games then I would have finished 7th. So it is a very tight league I just happened to finish near the bottom of the pack this time, a couple more wins would have made a huge difference.

These challenges are definitely for the turtles of the crowd, not the hares. The intake of youth lags the increase in club reputation and quality, so if you move up the ladder, your youth intake won't be sufficient to compete at that level until some years have passed, and you have better facilities, and a better reputation solidified. Which makes the challenge here quite daunting; I gave up any thought of something similar in Wales very quickly.

dafuge played 80+ seasons, and IIRC, it wasn't until about season 55 or 60 that he made that move. If I'm still playing this save 50 seasons in, I'll be quite bored out of my gourd, I imagine!![]()
This is awesome. I love trying to develop youth players. I dont know how you get through so much so quickly though. You must get a lot more time to play the game than me.
Glad to hear it! Like DSYoungEsq says, this challenge isn't for those who get disheartened easily, so glad you are keeping positive. Do you think the facilities being upgraded are the only way you are going to progress past this point (as you mention you don't think the majority of the squad are good enough for this level), or could it be something as simple as a change in tactics or just a bit of luck?
Oh, and btw, since it is apparent that your lads need to have the confusion cleared up:
I am predicting that, in two seasons from now, they will be in the PROMOTION PLAYOFFS.![]()
I kinda made a mistake with this before, for example for the Euro Cup places in England I just put down the 3 clubs which finished 4th to 7th not taking into account the cups. So have redone it now.

Some teams got into Europe via winning or getting to the final of a cup, here is a key:
CL - Champions League
EC - Euro Cup
FA - FA Cup
LC - League Cup
FC - French Cup
GC - German Cup
IC - Italian Cup
SC - Spanish Cup
If there is nothing next to a team's name then they got into Europe via their league position

If you want any updates on specific teams don't hesitate to ask
I am at uni at the moment which explains how I get through the seasons quickly. Compared to some people on this forum I am going really slowly especially as the Swedish seasons are around half the amount of games as England/Spain/Italy. Glad you're enjoying it.
I think I will need the facilities to be upgraded to get promoted but every season is helping as it is (hopefully) getting our club reputation up which I think plays a factor in the quality of youth players. I will always consider changing my tactics to fit in with the quality of my squad, next season I will probably play 2 up front even in home games as I lack depth in the striker department at the moment.
I think my luck generally evens out over the season, I wouldn't say I have been unlucky so far but if we have a very lucky season we might have a shot at promotion
I'll be sure to tell them, maybe it's my Swedish translation that they don't understand
Thanks dafuge

Lets go conquer Sweden competitions, after europe, then the world!
GO GO GO, I LOVE YOUR MAIN AIM, IS THE HARDEST I HAVE EVER SEEN!
Thanks, I like your enthusiasm
I would like to take credit for this but my assisstant manager was in charge for this match:
The final score was 7-0 with Johan Heinonen scoring 2 cracking goals (2nd and 3rd ones in the highlights).
As you can see we were very lucky, managing to score 7 from just 6 shots on target. It's just a pity only 24 people saw it live.
For me, the goal of that game that impresses is that first one. That's a fantastic little header into a tight space, pounced upon and slotted home quite nicely. Very pretty soccer.

Flamers
Glad to see you're sticking with this, I don't think it'll be long before you make the breakthrough and are up the top end of the table. How many seasons do you reckon before you can realistically challenge?
I imagine its difficult to predict success (or the lack thereof) in this save, as you aren't buying players. Normally we'd all assume a few years of squad building at a certain level will mean a better chance at promotion, and more importantly survival once promoted. However, as you are completely reliant on (less than adequate) youth facilities it's difficult to judge whether or not any number of years at a certain level will benefit you in the long run...
That being said, come on Tord! Make us proud!!!
hey mate! many congradulation from me for your effort. it will surelly be very very difficult to manage it. but if you do that you'll be one of the best! really.
i think that what you need now -as you cannot have the best players, especially now that your youth recruitment isnt good- is to become o perfectionist on tactics. you may need to spend more time in the games in order o do that but i firmly believe that this is the only way to manage it in a normal way (speaking about how long it will take you). with great tactics and average players you'll be able to do that! keep on! you started something awesome!
I'm hoping it won't be too long but realistically it could take quite a while.
Thanks, the problem is that I don't know how much money I need for the board to accept my youth facilities request.
Thanks, I am always tweaking my tactics in an attempt to make them better. I normally go for quite attacking tactics in fm to make the games more exciting and because I like that style of football but I am realising that we are too far out of our depth to play that attacking football. I think we need to be more defensive to pick up results.
Still can't create a good away tactic any suggestions are more than welcome
i am not a master-tactician but the "super defence" tactic is what you may need. i agree with with you that at this stage you have to be defensive even though it is "ugly" being defensive at FM. keep on trying! i also see that you update too soon and this makes me think that you watch the games at "only commentary". if this happens you can try to watch for a while the key moments of the games (in "fast") in order to watch and ynderstand better how tactics work on your team. on the other hand i am sure that you've tried it probably after so many seasons! keep on!
edit: the link about the tactic i've mentioned is here: http://community.sigames.com/showthr...-Super_Defense

For my first two seasons, when I was worried that we weren't comparable to our top opponents, I used 4-1-2-2-1, with attacking wingers flanking the striker up top. One of the two central midfielders was always set to help out the DM; the roles used depended upon just how defensive I thought I had to be. That is, if the DM had to play as a stopper (anchor man), then his partner in the center played as a deep lying playmaker (defend or support as needed). On the other hand, if the DM was the deep lying playmaker, then his midfield partner was box-to-box, there to help the DM when the other side was attacking, but off to the races as soon as the break was on (we often played with counter-attacking tactics). The other midfielder plays as a ball-hawk in the center of the pitch; his job is to win the ball away and set the offense in motion. Has to be someone with some physicality and technique. The nice thing about this tactical setup is that you can easily drop the midfield partner back into a DM slot without even changing the role, and can handle even the toughest teams that way without your players having to "learn" a new tactic.
Thanks for all your tactical help, you will see if any of it has worked in the next few updates.
steady progress mate, but getting a few relegation battles.
How are the facilities coming along? Have you enough money to invest in youth development yet?
April 2021
Swedish Cup 1st Round: VMA IK 0-2 Tord
Not as easy as we would have liked. VMA IK could have taken the lead in the 1st half but they missed a penalty. We punished them for that late in the 2nd half when Pontus Lagerlund (YP24) and Johan Heinonen both scored within 3 mins of each other to see us edge the victory.
League: Tord 2-2 Norrkoping
At half time it looked like we were cruising to victory when debutant Anton Dahlberg (YP30) scored twice, in the 14th and 25th mins. However they do say 2-0 is the most dangerous scoreline and we proved it by conceding twice in 3 mins in the 2nd half to throw away the win.
League: Malmo FF 4-0 Tord
Admittedly they are one of Sweden's biggest clubs but even so we were embarrassingly bad. 3-0 down at half time, we regained some composure in the 2nd half only to concede another in injury time.
Swedish Cup 2nd Round: Orebro Syrianksa e2-1 Tord
Our 6th consecutive away draw in the cupjust once I would like a home draw. We were doing alright up until the last 10 mins of normal time. We were 1-0 up thanks to a goal from Isaac Blixt but Syrianska equalised and then ran away with the game in extra time. Clear and deserved winners in the end.
League: Tord 1-1 Brommapojkarna
Really frustrating, should have won this game comfortably but we just couldn't find the net. Brommapojkarna took a 1st half lead against the run of play. Tony Thoren (YP5) equalised 15 mins into the 2nd half but we couldn't get that elusive winner.
League: Atvidaberg 1-1 Tord
An uneventful 1st half was followed by an action packed 2nd half. Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) gave us the lead int he 47th min. We sat back attempting to defend our slender lead and it looked like we were going to be successful until the 94th min when an Atvidaberg corner was headed home from a few yards out.
League: Tord 4-1 Vasalund
Finally we get the win. We were fantastic in this game, Lars Lundgren (YP18) and Christoffer Zekria (YP17) gave us a 2-0 lead at half time. Christoffer Zekria (YP17) and Tony Thoren (YP5) both scored in the 2nd half to give us a massive 4-0 lead. The only bad thing in this game was Stefan Nilsson (YP13)'s sending off which allowed Vasalund to get a consolation. This is the match I was trying out a new tactic based on all the info you guys gave me so thank you.

May 2021
League: Orgryte 1-1 Tord
We were maybe lucky to get the draw but i'll take the point. Orgryte took an early lead which was cancelled out by Anders Svensson (YP16) in the 79th min.
League: Hacken 2-1 Tord
We played poorly and deserved to lose. Hacken took the lead late in the 1st half but Anton Dahlberg (YP30) continued his impressive form with an equaliser early in the 2nd half. The parity didn't last long though, Hacken retook the lead just 8 mins later and held onto it this time.
League: Tord 1-0 Degerfors
Didn't create many chances but the ones we did create were good ones. Thankfully we finished one of our few chances, Johan Bystrom (YP2) grabbing all the 3 points for us in the 84th min.
League: Tord 3-2 Vasteras SK
A fantastic match and win against the top team. We got off to a fantastic start when Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) gave us the lead after just 55 seconds. Less than 5 mins later Vasteras were level from a freekick. Again we shocked everyone by retaking the lead, Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) bagging his 2nd with a powerful shot into the top corner. Vasteras managed to level things up again from another freekick in exactly the same position as their last one. It wasn't over there though, there was enough time for Karlsson (YP8) to get his hat trick: a poor backpass allowed Karlsson (YP8) through on their keeper where he smashed the ball past him with great force.
League: Vasby 2-2 Tord
Vasby should have won this comfortably but in the end we came out disappointed we hadn't got the win. Vasby took the lead in the 2nd half but Anders Svensson (YP16) equalsied almost straight away. The game swung in Vasby's favour again when Tony Thoren (YP5) saw red after a 2nd bookable offence in the 72nd min. Against all odds we took the lead with just 5 mins remaining, Johan Heinonen seemingly getting the winner but Vasby equalised in the 90th min to deny us the win.
League: Tord 2-0 Oddevold
A comfortable win, job done in the 1st half although we could have had another 3 or 4 in the 2nd half as well. Anton Dahlberg (YP30) and Jonas Widmark (YP25) getting a goal apiece.
June 2021
League: Skarhamn 0-1 Tord
Should have won by more than just the solitary goal. Jonas Widmark (YP25) missed a penalty in the 11th min but made up for it by scoring the winning goal.
League: Oster 2-1 Tord
Our 1st loss in 6 matches, quite a feat for us. We were hit twice in quick succesion in the 1st half which basically put us out of the match. Anders Svensson (YP16) got one back in the 78th min but we didn't go on to get another.
League: Tord 3-0 GAIS
A brilliant win and overall a great performance. Tony Thoren (YP5) gave us the lead in the 1st half and the win was wrapped up by a Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) brace late in the 2nd half.
League: Syrianska Kerburan 2-3 Tord
I know this screenshot ^ is nothing special in most people's saves but I am really proud of my team's performance. Probably our best away match ever, just shows how much tactics can make a difference. Admittedly they had a guy sent off after our 1st goal and then another which led to our 3rd. Despite our superior 1st half performance we went into the break level due to an own goal after Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) had given us the lead. Jonas Widmark (YP25) retook the lead for us early in the 2nd half before a clumsy challenge gave us a penalty and earned their defender a red card. Jonas Andersson (YP27) tucked home the penalty to give us a 2 goal cushion. They managed to score with their 1st and only shot on target in the 93rd min but it was only a consolation.

Looking good so far this season. I hope you'll keep it up!
Great progress this season! You're doing brilliantly without my help, but the 4-3-1-2 I mentioned earlier is 3 CMs and 1 AM.
you've done a great job mate seems like patience is the key (i only registered so i could write this comment lol) keep up the good work mate!
Aha! See, I should have clarified my statement about the playoffs about 2 seasons ago!
Keep the good results up!![]()
Thanks guys, although I am in trouble if, that's a big if, we get promoted because we would almost definately get relegated from the Premier Division straight away. This is a problem because most of my players have a clause in their contract which puts their wage up 40% if we get promoted, I only let them have it because I didn't think it would happen any time soon.
I was using the 4-3-1-2 before for a bit, it wasn't too bad for home matches but we got taken apart in the away matches. I want to use both Johan Bystrom (YP2) and Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) in attack not just one of them so I might go back to a tactic which needs 2 strikers. However my tactic at the moment seems to be getting results so I don't want to mess with it just yet.
I blame you for our mishaps in the previous few seasons for not clarifying which playoffs![]()
July 2021
League: Norrkoping 3-0 Tord
An abrupt halt to our run of good form. After all we've accomplished over the past few weeks we go and put in a shocker of a performance like this. A deserved loss as well as a couple of injuries to some key players.
League: Tord 0-1 Atvidaberg
Still reeling from our loss against Norrkoping. Atvidaberg scored in the 7th min which was enough to get all 3 points.
League: Tord 1-0 Malmo FF
A much better performance against a team who have enough quality to walk this league but aren't fulfilling their potential. It was a fairly even match until we were awarded a controversial penalty in the 88th min. Jonas Andersson (YP27) stepped up and coolly finished it under pressure.
League: Brommapojkarna 1-1 Tord
We were slow out of the blocks and by the 5th min Brommapojkarna could have been 3-0 up but their strikers were thankfully off form. Then in the 6th min the game was turned on its head when Brommapojkarna went down to 10 men, I thought this would give us a nice foothold in the match but still we struggled to create anything. Even more embarrassingly Brommapojkarna then took the lead which at that point they deserved. We played much better in the 2nd half, Stefan Nilsson (YP13) finally getting the goal our play warranted in the 63rd min. In the end a draw was a fair result although really the match was there for our taking.
August 2021
League: Vasalund 0-2 Tord
Not much went on in the match until the 2nd half when a brace from Jonas Andersson (YP27) sealed the win for us. Neither goal was particularly good but every goal counts.
League: Tord 1-0 Orgryte
A 2nd win in a row and again it was Jonas Andersson (YP27) who saved us. We dominated the match but failed to find the back of the net until the 92nd min that is. Jonas Andersson (YP27) powered home a header from 10 yards.
League: Vasteras SK 2-0 Tord
Didn't expect us to get anything this match as Vasteras SK are running away with the title. This could be the 2nd year in a row where a team has got back to back promotions from 3rd to 1st tier. Just shows how small the difference in quality between the divisions is. This match itself was pretty close but Vasteras SK got the rub of the green. 2 longshots managed to nestle their way into our top corner to give them the 2-0 victory.
League: Tord 0-0 Hacken
Really should have won this one to keep up the pressure on our promotion rivals. We had many chances to do so as well our best falling to Johan Bystrom (YP2), who was put through on goal only to hit the post.
League: Degerfors 0-0 Tord
We may be boring our fans but its getting us the results. A defensive tactic worked a treat as we cut out any attack Degerfors tried. The next stage is to be able to counter some of these attacks but for now I'll take the 0-0.
Hey, I haven't been all that active of late but good to see your still going strong :P close call with the play-offs :P
Sat in 5th in the screenshot above, with the right results you could possibly move into 2nd or drop to 9th, love it![]()
hey mate im not familiar with the swedish rules if you finish top 3 you automatically get promoted?
Top 2 is automatic, 3rd means you playoff with the left that finishes third bottom in the division above, the winner gets a place in the higher division
Flamers
Man, that's a tight division! GOOO Tord!!!!!
Yer it's very close. Every season it seems , going into the last few games, that we could drop or gain at least 4 or 5 places. It's quite annoying as I would like to test out some fringe players but it does make for exciting finishes.
Basically what Flamers said: Top 2 get automatically promoted and 3rd place goes into a 2 legged playoff with the team who finished 3rd last in Sweden's top division.
oohh that is close then thanks for the replies good luck mate
September 2021
League: Tord 1-0 Skarhamn
An expected win over the bottom side. Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) broke his 10+ hour drought to grab the winner in the 1st half.
League: Tord 6-1 Vasby
Here are the match highlights, we scored some pretty nice goals
Out of nowhere we smash in 6 (We managed to score as many goals in this game as we have in the last 10 games put together). We got off to a great start when Jonas Widmark (YP25) blasted one into the top corner from the edge of the area. Just 6 mins later Anders Svernsson (YP16) doubled our lead with a backpost header. The game was wrapped up within the half hour when Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) finished a nice team move. We continued to knock at the door in the 2nd half and it wasn't long before we got our 4th. Fredrik Kalrsson (YP8) cut inside from the wing before placing a shot into the far bottom corner. The opposition had failed to track Karlsson (YP8)'s runs all game and it was another one of these which got Jonas Widmark (YP25) his 2nd of the match. Karlsson (YP8) squared the ball which the keeper pushed right into Widmark (YP25)'s path, he made no mistake to make it 5-0. They managed to grab a consolation before Karlsson (YP8) got his hat trick with one of the very last kicks of the game. That last minute goal also meant Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) overtakes Johan Bystrom (YP2) as Tord's record league goalscorer.
League: Oddevold 1-0 Tord
Should have made it 3 wins in 3 for the month but Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) squandered a few chances and to cap it off they nicked a goal in the 91st min. This meant we slipped to 4th, just outside the promotion playoff place.
League: Tord 2-0 Oster
Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) was back to his best for this match where he scored twice in the 1st half which was enough to seal the victory. Thanks to Atvidaberg slipping up against Orgryte we moved back into 3rd with 2 games left . . . . .

I think you have the advantage, from the looks of it. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Tord!
Pound those GAIS
Good luck, fantastic season whatever happens in the last couple of games though.
Isn't it spooky how accurately DSYoungEsq can predict?
I think he know's something we don't...
Flamers
Thanks guys.
It is quite scary how accuratly DSYoungEsq can predict things. Feel free to predict me winning the league it would be much appreciated![]()
No offence but I didn't think that the team would be capable of a title challenge this year! How many teams in the next tier up?
Flamers
October 2021
League: GAIS 1-0 Tord
Unfortunately we did not "pound those GAIS". A draw would have been a fair result but we didn't finish our golden chance and they did finish theirs. Despite this loss we still found ourselves 3rd going into the final game. Atvidaberg had drawn and Oddevold and Degerfors had lost.
League: Tord 2-2 Syrianska Kerburan
We went into this match knowing a win would see us into the playoffs and with our home league record of 10 wins, 3 draws, 1 loss we were pretty confident. Jonas Widmark (YP25) gave us the lead in the 25th min with a fantastic run and shot into the top corner. But 4 mins later they were level thanks to an unfortunate own goal. This equaliser gave them a boost in the game and we were struggling throughout the rest of the 1st half. We weathered the storm in the 2nd half and Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) managed to retake the lead for us with a fine goal. But with 3/4 of the game gone Syrianska equalised again as we were trying to close the game off. It ended 2 apiece but was it enough for the playoffs or have we bottled it . . . . . . .
Humm... I feel that 12th will be where you finish next season (if promoted)
If not then 2nd
Flamers
I knew it wouldn't be easy! Like I said regarding last season, the game always seems to make it tense and tight for you, rather than a simple finish...
Speaking of which, I reckon you've unfortunately dropped out of the playoff positions, thanks to a late goal in one of the other games...
(I'm more than happy to be proven wrong though...)
Whatever the outcome, you've had a fantastic season!
End of Season Report: IK Tord Swedish First Division Elite, 2021
League Table, League Graph
Squad
We started off pretty badly but a change in tactics midway through the season did the trick. We piled on the wins and were even hanging around the promotion playoff place going into the last few games. We needed just 1 win in the last 2 games effectively to seal the playoff place. We lost the 1st game which was a bit unfortunate but thanks to favourable results elsewhere we had kept hold of 3rd place by 1 point ensuring that a win in the final game would definately see us in the playoff.
It was at home to mid table Syrianska Kerburan so I was feeling confident but we let our lead slip twice to only come away with a draw. Results had gone our way on the day meaning we were still 3rd but 1 team who could potentially nick 3rd place were playing a day later. They needed a win which unfortunately they got despite going 1-0 down. That means we missed out on the playoff place but the blow was softened by the prize money we recieved.
Swedish Cup
A comfortable 2-0 win against VMA IK was followed by an extra time defeat to a lower league team. We aren't really getting the luck of the draw recently as our last 6 cup games have all been away from home.
Youth Players (At the Club)
Anton Alvefelt (YP1) - A very good season for him, he is coming up to his best years in terms of age, hopefully he can keep this level of performance up for a few more seasons.
Johan Bystrom (YP2) - I have now put him on the transfer list, he keeps complaining he wants to leave, his wage is quite high and he doesn't consistently perform. Had another shocker of a season with just 1 goal in 12 appearances.
Tony Thoren (YP5) - Still not back to the standard which saw our defence as one of the best in the league but certainly improving from the low he hit a few seasons back.
Filip Linder (YP6) - Conceded 31 in 29 with 11 clean sheets, pretty good.
Niklas Andersson (YP7) - Only made a couple of appearances, has voiced his intent to leave but i'd rather he didn't as I wouldn't have a spare keeper.
Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) - Started off the season on fire but a mixture of injury and bad luck saw him go into a bit of a lull. He found some form when it mattered, at the end of the season which was no doubt helped by the new formation. Also came 2nd in the golden boot with 14 goals from his 29 appearances.
Fredrik Lundgren (YP10) - Again didn't make an appearance but still won't terminate his contract.
Stefan Nilsson (YP13) - One of our best performers this season. He was quality in defence as well as going forward.
Anders Svensson (YP16) - Outshone the rest of the defence, at times he was unbeatable but also he managed to net 4 goals.
Christoffer Zekria (YP17) - Still not exactly at his best, or at least I hope not. We really need a decent back up for when Fredrik Karlsson (YP8) retires.
Lars Lundgren (YP18) - Unfortunately he still won't negotiate a contract so he will probably leave at the end of next season. Not worth selling him early as it will only be for a pittance.
Anders Axelsson (YP20) - The weak link in our defence at the moment but thats understandable as he is quite young
Fredrik Berg (YP21) - I'll give him the benefit of the doubt about his low rating as he came off the bench for all his appearances.
Marcus Johansson (YP22) - Didn't make a single appearance and could be on his way out depending on the new youth intake.
Mattias Hakansson (YP23) - Already a regular in the squad at only 21 and has thoroughly earned his place.
Pontus Lagerlund (YP24) - I'll hang onto him for a few more seasons despite him only scoring once in 8 appearances, really needs to up his game and I hope he'll do it sooner rather than later.
Jonas Widmark (YP25) - A greatly improved season, lots of promise for him. Not quite a regular but he soon will be.
Joakim Lindqvist (YP26) - Again not great, may be on his way out soon.
Jonas Andersson (YP27) - It looks like the experience of last season did do him good, probably one of the best seasons I have season from a midfielder at Tord.
Jimmy Froberg (YP28) - Again he was awful, looks like I made a mistake in bringing him into the 1st team.
Bojan Ohlsson (YP29) - Made 4 appearances all of them from off the bench. Did ok for an 18 year old.

Wow. Can't believe it's taken me this long to pop into this thread (probably as a multi-club journeyman kind of guy though I've opened myself up to one-club careers more recently, especially where there's such potential for progress such as this), it's just been a great read. You've got me hooked. Shame about missing out on the playoffs but speaking for myself I'd feel more confident going up from a stronger position. Having had a couple of successful (to varying degrees) stints at AIK in recent months I'm a massive fan of Sweden.

Great thread!
How are Pisa doing?
Been following this thread for a while and I thought I'd already commeted, but obviously not.
You really haven't set half a challenge for yourself, have you? It is a massive undertaking and I really hope it succeeds, because it will give me hope for the regen system in the game. Still, rather you than me. Unlucky on missing out on the playoffs, but it looks like you are definitely making progress....albeit slowly.
I'm sorry to say my touch has been lost, apparentlyOf course, I'm going to blame you and your tactics (pre-switch!) for screwing it up.
Next year for sure. Some nice depth to that squad, now.
Wonderful season, hrbfc, hopefully that'll give you a nice platform to push on from and at least make the playoffs next season! How far ahead of your players in terms of ability are those at the bottom end of the Premier Division?
I'm hugely impressed with how far you've come with this hrbfcrule.
Ever find your self-imposed restrictions limiting and frustrating or are you just loving the challenge?
There's not too much of a difference between the top of this division and the bottom of the Premier Division. At the moment I think we wouldn't stand a chance in the top league but we aren't too far off. I'd rather have my youth facilities upgraded before I get promoted.
Yer I should have changed sooner, if I had done it a few games earlier I might have just scraped into the playoffs.
Yer it's quite a difficult and long challenge but I do want it to keep me going until fm12. Hopefully I'll have progressed out of this division by then at least![]()
Not very well I'm afraid. Here is their league history. They got relegated in the 20/21 season so I can't tell how they are doing this season.
In the first 2 seasons they reached the Serie C1 playoffs but both times they lost out to Tarento in the semi final.
They were so close to going straight back up when they were relegated from Serie C1 but lost out in the playoff final 1-0 to Latina.
In the Italian Cup they have been knocked out at the 2nd qualifying round every time they have been entered bar once when they went out in the 1st qualifying round.
Their only "success" is an appearance in the Serie C Cup semi final where they went out to Brindisi 2-1 on aggregate.
Thanks. Sometimes it can get quite frustrating like when an agent offers me a player and he is at least twice as good as anyone in my squad. Stupid agents tempting meand also when I'm struggling in a league and there is very little I can do about it. But I will always stick to my rules because I still love doing all youth player challenges. It's so much more rewarding whenever I achieve something and I like watching the progression of my players.
KUTGW hrbfcrule
A great thread and getting reward slowly for your efforts.
Any news on youth upgrades or are the board still making you use poor facilities
Can't you filter all agent offers so you see none?
Flamers
Hey man, just to say really well done on the challenge, I'm amazed by how well you've done! I like how you've now become entwined in just about every part of the clubs history as well :-) Keep up the good work!
also awesome news on the youth academy!
