Question about play positions

Recommended Posts

I am trying to put training schedules from FM 2010 to FM 2011 demo, but the training has changed, so I have to do it by hand. But the schedules I used were in English and the Abbreviations aren't completly clear to me. So, could somewhone help me?

GK = Goalkeeper, like Julio César and Iker Casillas

CB = Central Defender(???), like John Terry and Carles Puyol

FB = Fullback, so the defender that plays on the wings, like Maicon, Dani Alves and Sergio Ramos

CM = Central Midfielder, like Barry and Fabregas

AM = Attacking Midfielder, like Sneijder, Iniesta, Xavi, Shaun Wright-Phillips

ST = Striker, like Torres, Rooney, Huntelaar, Inzaghi

CF = No idea, can anybody help me with this one?

WF = No idea, can anybody help me with this one?

Pless tell me if there are any mistakes in it, and please help me with those two:confused:

The way I would think of it, is that an Att Midfielder could play centrally in a 442 formation and look to get forward, where as a CF is essentially a forward but one that would drop off the front or play just off a target man or out and out striker.

And yes, Elia and Walcott would be a good example of a WF.

Yes, personally I create my own schedules and have Def Mid and Att Mid.

Perhaps create your own schedule for Def Mid similar to the Centre Mid, but increase the defensive aspects of the training and reduce a couple of other parts slightly?
