Ok cheers nice 1
I posted a spec up the other day but I have since been in touch with a mate who builds PC's and has come up with this (the main parts minus power supply, operating system which will be vista i think etc)...
1 x Mushkin 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666 9-9-9-24 Silverline - 996768
1 x Asus M4A78LT-M LE AMD 760G (Socket AM3) DDR3 PCI-Express Motherboard
1 x AMD Phenom II X2 Dual Core 555 3.2GHz Black Edition C3 (Socket AM3) Processor
1 x Samsung HD103SJ SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 3.5" Hard Drive
Not sure on the graphics card as it is one he already has but says it works with FM no problem, so presuming the GPU is decent enough, how would this be looking to run FM in terms of leagues etc?
Hi All;
Am going to buy a new PC in the next few weeks and one of the main aspects I think about is how FM will play on it. I basically want to have a feature game, running with all major leagues in Europe, as well as S America, as well as having leagues from Mexico, Chile, etc, Czech Republic, Scandanavian leagues so I have loads of players. I have been looking at a few PCs but am not too computer literate so am non too wise on the specs. would you be able to advise.....I have a couple of the below;

I will only be interested in the specs with regards to FM, I don't play any other games so it's just purely for FM. Would appreciate your help on this.
Cheers
Cool, I usually only really run English and Scotland in full (not Blue Sq etc though), Spain's two divisions and Serie A. May load players from a couple of nations but nothing more as I tend to mainly stick to the British game.
The decent sized hard drive is handy for my University work and music. For the full thing all together its going to cost £250 so it seems like a decent enough deal. Is it easy enough to upgrade processors in the future?
Sure, I see what you are saying. Its obviously not that I want a less powerful processor but just really gave the guy instructions to keep the cost as low as possible but good enough to do the stuff I want, which it will! It will not be getting used too much to be honest other than a small game of FM and some University work!
Cheers for the advice tho!
looking to buy new laptop
my current spec

I'd go with the Acer because it looks better and has a couple of small nice features such as an inbuilt webcam.

Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 450 @ 2.20GHz 2.19GHz
Memory (RAM) 2.00GB

Graphics card i am unsure on but it seemed to work the match engine fine.
Running the top 5 English leagues with a medium data base im only getting 1 star and processing seems to take a long time on international days especially. Another point i bought it through steam and i was wondering if that will make any difference to the speed compared to buying it on on a disc?
Thanks for your time .

Sorry if this has been addressed aready, I looked through the forum and couldn't find the answer to this, but there is a lot so I might have missed it.
I'm wondering which OS is better for FM: Windows XP or Windows 7?
I mean, I've been running all my other FMs on XP and never had any problems but I was thinking of upgrading to Windows 7. I'm just worried that there might be more of a chance that FM won't work right, since I know a lot of people complained about Vista and their games.
I'm a complete noob when it comes to computers so I apologize if this question is dumb..anyway, XP or 7?
Thanks
i have 4 options about the same price. i want to be able to run several countries-top league only normally- quickly

I need a new PC. What kind of system would you need to run at max settings (all leauges and players), just out of interest. Is there such a thing as overkill when getting a pc for fm. I'm not bothered about 3D.
depends on your budget but id go for a core i5 760, gigabyte p55m-ud2h and 4gb of corsair xms3 ddr3-1600 and mate that with a decent 500w psu to allow for a future gpu to be added.
Budgetwise I suppose it would be a waste to spend anymore than £1,000 just to play FM for the next few years. So probably round that area. I don't need a monitor. I would be willing to go higher if it made a noticeable difference. I'm a bit out of touch with all the new pcs i5 and i7 stuff at the minute. I havent been paying attention for a few years so have no idea what to look out for when picking out a new pc.
I'm using a 4 year old dual core 2.4 at the minute which is about dead.
What about this one?

£1000?? You can get a great FM machine for £500-600.
And that HP doesn't look worth the money to me. You can build one for half the price with similar performance.
how would this run fm2011

Naah Better options for the price in last couple of pages.
It'll run 15 leagues only.
Thanks Ishu![]()

Select which over Operating System you want... to save cash select the cheapest option.
Miles cheaper & miles better then the other HP machine.... PC World are just money grabbers.
If you care to read the reviews you will read nothing but good about that machine.

thanks guys, really appreciated![]()
Sorry to put this up only a few days after asking advice on another machine but this one come with a monitor for the same price if the spec is up to scratch. Same question again really. How many leagues, how many players etc. Thanks for the advice on the other one BTW.

Hey people got a question.I got a rather old machine and im not sure if i should buy this game or not.My current configuration is :
Pentium 4 CPU 3000mhz
2 GB of RAM
256 ram on the ati video card.
I run win xp sp3
I know i meet the minimum system requirements but does are irrelevant.I want to play with some 2-3 leagues loaded.Like for example Serie A,EPL,Bundesliga.Or Serie A,B,C or you get the picture. But the important thing is that i dont want to wait 6-7 hours to finish a season.
So can i run it at a good speed?Im ok if i cant run the game in 3d as i like the 2d version better.
https://www.mln.com.au/product/?itemID=922
Nice list.
So its going to take a lot of time processing when other teams play?I dont mind the game taking more hours if i scout for players and what not.But i dont want to wait a lot of time when other fixtures are processed. So will it work fast or not?
finally bought one...should get at the end of the week! :-) 500 quid.

Hi guys
im looking to buy a new laptop for generall stuff but want to play FM on it too
I only have about £450 to spend so what is the best one around that can handle the processing?
I posted recently about the difference in speed I've found between FM11 and FM10.
I have found FM11 to run alot slower than FM10 and it makes my computer feel particularly unstable, despite running exactly same leagues at I did on FM10.
I know very little about computer spec, but I'm running 15 leagues from six nations on the medium database on the following. My question is, is this deemed enough to run this amount of leagues and would should I be looking to improve? Any help/advice much appreciated!
Pentium 4 GPU 3.00GHz
2.99 GHz, 1.00 GB or RAM
If I need to give more info, let me know how to access it and I will add it to this post!
I've got a new comp and I'm interested to see how this runs. I want a massive game world and, to be honest, I doubt I'll get past 10 years (or even 5) so I can afford to select a fair few leagues.
i7 950 (overclocked to 4 GHz)
6 GB DDR3 1600 MHz ram running at 8-8-8-24 timings
4870 512mb graphics card (soon to be upgraded to a 6970 but that's not needed for FM)
Those are the relevant specs.
Hey fellas
My current graphiccard is *****. So I'm considering buying Radeon PCI-E HD5450. Does anyone know if it's good enough for FM11?
Hey guys,
Could anyone tell me how well FM11 would work on my laptop? The specs are
Toshiba Satellite Pro L450D-11J
AMD Athlon™ X2 Dual-Core Processor running at 2.1ghz
2048mb Ram
Windows 7 Pro (32-bit)
160gb hd
ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics card
All help appreciated
Hi,
I'm looking for a new laptop that I could carry with me and use it to play FM11 on the go.
What I need is:
screen <15.6
decent battery life
fast CPU >2.0 GHz
decent dedicated graphics
My budget is around £500-£600. Can anyone help?
Currently have a Acer Aspire Desktop X3812
Quad Core Intel 2.8Ghz
4gb Ram
NVidia Graphics Card 128mb
runs game well, can load quite a lot of leagues and players, with basic graphics
but received a tax rebate today and have ordered
an extra 4gb RAM, and a Sapphire HD 5450 1GB DDR2 DVI VGA HDMI Out PCI-E Low Profile Graphics Card
Hopefully can run a whole lot more leagues and have better match day view.
thanks ishu, help greatly appreciated!

Hi all, would be eternally grateful if anyone would be kind enough to let me know how many leagues and which size database I should select to run on my computer:

WINDOWS 7 PREMIUM 64
I'm going to be using Uncle Ron's Non League edit so I can play my local team, any suggestions as to which other leagues/countries I should select to go with this? I was shown FM2012 by my friend, and, to my amazement, found it terrifyingly addictive. I bought the game for myself and my friends laughed, saying ''I don't think we'll be seeing so much of her this year...'' The only issue is, I have to admit, I don't really know much about football (yet!). FM2012 has got me into the sport, and so I need all the help I can get with league/database size selection.
Apologies for the helplessness - I've been Googling hard for days and not found any definitive answers. Very confused as to which I set to 'view only' etc. I want to do this right!
Many thanks to anyone kind enough to help a clueless noob =)
Scarlett P.
Yours is more of a gaming rig.
20 leagues will be OK. And I don't know anything about ron's update.
BTW Where did you and your friend buy FM2012 from.
And welcome to the forums![]()
Gaming rig = good for FM then? I truly am clueless, I realise. What size database ought I to use? Thanks so much for the help Ishu - and, yeah, FM2012? /facepalm.
I'll pack a few more into my TARDIS next time I'm out, will bring one back for you =p

Hi I hope very much someone can help me. I am about to purchase a new desktop pc for general computer use and have no idea at all about graphics or computer requirements etc.
The only game i want to play is FM11 but I do not want to buy a new computer and find I cannot play the game!
I only play as Rangers in Scotland and only load up the Scottish league.
Basically I am planning to buy a packard bell desktop from pc world. I did ask in the shop but the guy was useless and couldnt help me at all!
Can anyone confirm if this pc would be good to play the game?
i would be forever indebted to someone who can help!!!!!

Hi Ishu,
many thanks for your reply.
it will cost £329. How would I find out if it can play the 3D graphics? I dont really have any techie friends, but can you tell me what you mean by a 'custom' pc?
It is a new packard bell computer and in the shop it displays the graphics for some 3D rally car game and seems to show it can play this type of 'action' game. Does this help?
