Before my currant game started I had set opposition instructions on two players to mark tightly - so why was the Asst Manager feedback saying it's important to mark them tightly?

Its possible that you might change your player marking and your assistant is reminding you not to do that

Then why did it disappear after the striker who we were supposed to be marking tightly was left in acres of space to score?
