Portsmouth have agreed in principle to sign Nacer Barazite and Craig Eastmond from Arsenal for £2.5 & £1.5 million respectively

Also Signed James O'Shea from Birmingham for £750k & Richard Stearman for £2 million

Also brought in Franco Di Santo and Nemanja Matic Earlier in the day on loan deals, paying no fee but 100% of the players wages.

That will be all from Portsmouth this transfer window.

Middlesbrough Press Conference

Middlesbrough chairman Rhys Cartwright has tonight announced the signing of 2 foreign players at the Riverside. Defensive midfielder Sebastien Kehl has arrived along with attacking midfielder Sergio Canales for a combined fee of around £14 million. After a very successful start to the season under new manager Laurent Blanc, Cartwright decided that to increase performances even more the midfield needed boosting after the rest of the team was improved during the summer.

He said "Kehl is an experienced international who will fit right into the team. Then we have Sergio Canales, an incredibly exciting young player who is tipped to go onto big things. We felt at £8million it was a bargain to good to pass up. We are sure he will create and score many goals for Middlesbrough and push us up the league and hopefully create a cup run in the FA Cup, after going out early in the League Cup."

He also added " We have been asking around the league for deals but after being told at pretty much every club that no deal could be struck for our targets we felt it be best to look abroad. We still have a few targets in the league, where contact hasn't been recipricated as of yet, but we are hopeful before the end of the window. We also want to get rid of quite a few players to bring the wage budget down and get the squad numbers down."

Blackburn have splashed the cash by bringing in 3 new faces, these are; Schweinsteiger, Pavlychenko & Taarabt, all three are eager to play for there new club, although this put the club in, more debt it hasn't put the chairman off from looking to bring in at least a couple more players.
