    Cologne, 2010/11

    GK Faryd Mondragon
    DL Fabrice Ehret
    DC Youssef Mohamad
    DC Geromel
    DR Miso Brecko
    DM Petit (Anchor Man)
    MC Maniche
    MC Taner Yalcin
    CF Novakovic (Advanced Forward)
    CF Lukas Podolski (Complete Forward)
CF Sebastian Freis (Deep Lying Forward)

Whether I play wing backs or full backs depends really. Sometimes I use two centre forwards and a central attacking midfielder but I really lack wide midfielders and I don't like swapping tactics often.

Oh, yeah, after the disaster that was the first season I played with Cologne I decided to start again and manage to keep Petit, for a start. Later on in that game I bought some fairly decent players like Sandro Kaiser, who plays really well if you tell him there's no pressure

    AC Milan, CL finalists 2013/2014

    GK: Rene Adler

    DR: Daniel Schwaab
    DC: Ismael Gonzalez Garcia (regen)
    DC: Felipe
    DL: Domenico Criscito

    DMC: Samir Jaziri (regen)
    MC: Toni Kroos
    MC: Claudio Marchisio
    AMC: Yoann Gourcuff

    ST: Edin Dzeko
    ST: Pato

Subs: Michelangelo Albertazzi, Davide Astori, Moussa Sissoko, Andrea Pirlo, Ugo Simari (AMC, regen), Alberto Paloschi, Giacomo Beretta

I played the save for about two and a half seasons in normally, and the wanted to turn the squad more Italian. Fans were at the brink of a heart attack when I signed Marchisio and Criscito from Juve, but how am I supposed to sign Italians when 13 Serie A teams are my rivals?

But yeah, haven't really managed to strike gold in CL, one time in final, and usually end up facing Man Utd or Barca on Quarter Finals. But I have won Serie A four years in a row.

I re-did the American leagues, and started out with this club in the US Third Division. I took them to the Premier League, won the NACL, then left for A.C. Milan. I came back with the club in shambles, and have since taken them to back-to-back Premier League titles, won the NACL again, taken home two US Cups, and I'm about to set the league record for points in a season before I take them to the Club World Cup and hopefully pick up the title.

ST: Sakhile Mkhize (RSA) - £475k from Chippa United - 20 years old

    Notes:

    - David McKinnon is the only player remaining from a campaign played outside the Premier League. He joined at the start of the 2014/15 League One campaign, and has been club captain since the start of the 2015/16 season.
    - Fraser Davies was plucked as a 17-year old from Crewe, who were playing in the Blue Square Premier at the time. I signed him in January after he had a stellar first half to his first full season, then let him remain on loan there until the end of the season. Now 22, he is now worth £21.5m and is the best right-back in the world.
    - Carlos Martin became a club legend after only two seasons with the club, at the age of 21. He has also been sent off in two of the three Champions League finals he has played, but has never been sent off in any other match.
    - Cigarrinha and Dmitry Kruchin were the only two players signed in the window before the 2018/2019 season, identified as the final pieces in the jigsaw in my drive to win the league. Cigarrinha had been a long-term target to fill the role of creative midfielder, and Kruchin was only identified a few weeks before I bought him in my search to find a consistent goalscorer. He had had an good season in Russia, with 15 goals in 27 games, but it was his first season that he had hit over 5 goals. The attributtes were there to be moulded though, so I paid the £25m for him. He has since scored 93 goals in 118 league appearances, been a runner-up for the Ballon d'Or, and is club vice-captain.
    - Christophe Mafrici is the only player in the world to have 20 for both Pace and Dribbling.

Second season as Bath City in the BSP (after losing the Play-off final against Stockport in the first season). Got rid of almost all the initial squad as they were simply too expensive in wages. New and better players have been found for about half the previous wage budget.

Season 2 just started, and my start 11 looks like this:

GK - Raivo Varazinskis (Lat). 19yo. Currently my only goal keeper, as I lost out on a polish keeper I had my sights on, after Colchester made a last minute bid. Now looking at an older New Zealand keeper.

DL - Thomas Lyskov (Den). 21 yo. Lightning fast back, who can play as M and AML too. Got him on free in the first season.
DR - Ryan France (Eng). 31 yo. Signed during pre-season, after having him on trial most of the spring.
DC - Samba Kanoute (Mali). 21 yo. Free transfer from first season. Been injured a lot so far. Can play Right back too if needed.
DC - Oliver Nicholas (Eritrea). 20 yo. One of the best defenders you can get on a free as a non-league team at the start of the game. High hopes if he can stay injury free.

MCd - Matthew Saunders (Eng). 22 yo. Signed on a free during winter. Becoming my stable defending midfielder.
MCa - Gareth Williams (Sco). 30 yo. Lots of experience from the CHampionship. He is my creative midfielder.
AML - Jake Inglis (Can). 23 yo. Newly signed during summer. Seems to have lots of potential.
AMR - Wouter Jansen (Curacao). 31 yo. A free also signed during summer. Can play central midfield too in a pinch.

DLF - Damian Casalinuovo (Uru). 25 yo. Signed on a free from the scottish premiership during winter. Having a hard time making him work in that position.
AF/P - Junior Yoro (Den). 21 yo. Speedy danish player, who scores loads of goals, despite not having too impressive stats.

New arrivals, that might dislodge some players in the start 11:

AMC/ST - Medhi Lazaar (Bel). 19 yo. Selfish but very skilled. Fighting for the AF/P position.
D/MC - William Ekong (Hol). 18 yo. Reject from Tottenham found by my scouts. Has the highest potential of all my defenders.

    AMC - Jack Wilshire £34.5m Age 27
    AML - Neymar (Board Signed 55m) 36m Age 27

    STC - Miguel (signed 9m) £35m Age 23

Most is Regens now. midfield usual rotates alot as Hamsik loses fitness really easy now. Have Aaron Ramsey and Wilshire sometimes drops into there. Hazard as backup for either of the AM positions he got injured for along time just before start of the new season so lost his place as not been firing since being back, but before that he won the goldon ball. Besides those my subs are mostly young upcoming regens.

    AS Roma (2015)
i try to live up to my no-regen policy for as long as possible. all my players exist IRL. and i've never spent more than €9.0m for a single player

red team is my starting XI, white team are my bench/reserves. don't mind the arrows and the weird positions. i drew them for another non-FM-related purpose. my formation's basically a 4-2-1-3 in FM. the only thing of note is i spent 6 months retraining Andrea Poli to play as a right wingback.

been using this squad for 2 seasons straight, haven't bought/sold anyone for the past 3 transfer windows except for Totti/Pizarro retiring. won champions league 2x in a row and humiliated all the foreign big teams: Barca, City, Arsenal, United, Bayern, and Dortmund (haven't played Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea, or RM yet). currently 100% league record, 26-0-0 in Serie A 2014/15

Branescu should be your starting keeper by now. i had Stekelenburg who was amazing, but i still sold him after the 2nd season so i could develop Branescu quicker

totally worth it. Branescu progressed much faster with more and more playing time. this is him in 2014-15 (only his second season as a senior team player). he's already surpassed the levels of Szesczesny and De Gea

Yes, he is still developing in his new role though, but coming along nicely. The guy has great pace, his crossing skills are not bad, reads the game well. So as a wingback moving into a forward position I figure it allows him more time to see the game a little clearer and hopefully be more dangerous. His stats below are quite promising.

Besides, if Wenger could do it with Cole, I cannot see why I cannot transform Younes

He may not look like much, but I am quite happy with him, he went through a rough patch and was down to about two stars. I knew it was my fault so I have been on the resurrection trail with Jamaal. He is coming good, and is performing quite well. Is very much part of the first team now, but not as a starter needs some more work yet.

Tim Howard is holding down the number one spot still. I am aiming to give him a few more starts this season in the Premier League. Tim though, I have a feeling, will want to play another couple of seasons yet. So the young fellow, will need to either force his way in or Howard needs to begin to fail miserably.

Ended up signing him myself in the previous seasons January transfer window and finished the 1st season with 11 goals in 16 games.

So far this season he's scored 22 in 25 games. One hell of a player.

Didn't have a very good first season winning only the Copa del Rey. This is the first time I've tried this tactic so hopefully with a few tweaks in the next couple of seasons trophies will start to come.

the arrival of regens and players geting older is slowly forcing me to addapt a 4-2-3-1, rather then the 4-3-3 ish formation I would normaly be playing

Broadhead is a regen who appeared when I loaded the MLS.

Note this probably isn't my best team, but it was the team who won the 2014 Champions League final.

    Subs were:
    ter Stegen
    Savic
Kompany (he got demoted for too many own goals)
    Barry
    Douglas Costa
    Milner
Dzeko (Amazing Fletcher turned out slightly better than Edin in my game)

Intriguing how many Truro City managers are in here, and how different our squads are!

    Truro City, BSP, December 2013
    4-1-2-1-2, Control, short passing

    GK: Josh Wagenaar (free)

    RB: Adam Hunter (free)
    RCB: Jon Lines (youth)
    LCB: Rob Atkinson (C) (free)
    LB: Martin John (free)

    DM: Agustin Battipiedi (free)
    RCM: Darren Potter (free)
    LCM: Ellis Martin (free)
    AM: Luke Mulholland (Minnesota All-Stars)

    RST: Wayne Phillips (youth)
    LST: Martin Grehan (free)

I have a very young team this year, having abandoned almost all the players that got me promoted from Blue Square South two seasons ago to give our youth crop experience (two other homegrown 17 year olds are in the squad). We regularly dominate possession during games and have the best defence in the league but aren't very good at making CCCs, so we tend either to win 1-0/2-0 or get sucker-punched on the break. As with last season, we're comfortably playoff-quality but lack the firepower to challenge for the title due to our reputation. This season, I'm just hoping to consolidate and sell Lines (18, with Championship potential) to improve our finances and bring in a quality striker.

Blyth Spartans, pre season 2012, geting ready for BSP

largely the XI that got me promoted in my first season, with a new pair of wide defenders, won the BSN scoring 80 goals, while my defense was rubbish, hopefully better wide defense will sort that part out

i made my manager Russian, so i try to buy predominantly Russian players, even if it means paying out of my arse. Dzagoev costed me €17m and Akinfeev cost me €25m in a 4-year monthly installment plan. everyone else i got on pretty good deals. Cardozo i got for €9m . both him and Huntelaar have 20 for finishing. and i'm working up Fabio Borini with a specific training schedule to become my next 20/20 finisher

    Akinfeev
    Anyukov Howedes Papadopoulos Escudero
    Dzagoev Jones Kenia Holtby
    Cardozo Huntelaar

notable bench players: Carlos Zambrano, Joel Matip, Arne Friedrich, Pinga, Marko Marin, Fabio Borini

i have one of the best defenses in Europe

With Newcastle and just started 2015 - 2016 season. Very happy with my squad at the moment and here's my best 11, though I have very good players on the bench with excellent cover in all positions.

    4 - 3 - 1 - 2, Short passing, high tempo!

GK - Ospina - Great goalie, aquired on a free
LB - Santon - Developed into a cracking player, just rejected a Madrid bid of 17mil
CB - Papadopolous - Bought for 13mil and is a real aggresive Vidic type player
CB - Collo - Aging a bit now and I may have better players on the bench, but he's my captain...!
RB - Walker - Think I payed 17mil for him last season, boy was he worth it.
CM (DLP - S) - Witsel - Got him for just 5mil, was pretty chuffed with that signing.
CM (DLP - D) - Cabaye - Heart and soul of the team, like to play him in a Carrickesque type role.
CM (BWM - S) - Barkley - Not a cheap buy at 16mil but he's put in some super performances and is English, so worth the money.
AM - Willian - New Aquisition this season, fantastic start thus far and has just slotted right into the team.
CF (TM) - Castaignos - Got him on loan from Inter in my second season then bought him for 4mil. Not a prolific scorer but gets bundles of assists. Just keeps getting better and better.
CF (Poa) - Sturridge - A first season loanee, 24 goals in that season so bought him for 4mil. This lad, just... keeps... on... scoring.

    Notable subs:

GK - Krul - Strong backup keeper. Classed as trained at club so he's going nowhere.
FB - Pieters - Perfect for when I need a more defensive minded FB
CB - Bazan - Wonderkid and already becomming a star.
CB - Kelly - Strong and good in the air.
CM - Delph - Don't really see him having a future at my club but don't won't to sell my English players.
CM - Fer - Puts in some good performances and is a rotation option as BWM with Barkley
AM - Gaston Ramirez - Just a great all rounder, would really reccommend him to managers a couple of seasons into a save.
AM - G Dos Santos - Scores some vital goals but can get a little over confident.
CF - Welbeck - Great player to have for when Sturridge is injured or jaded.

Have lots of great youth prospects i've been snapping up as well. As I said, very happy with this team and thanks to my improved youth system I can't see me having to make too many 'Big' signings in the future.

Just starting my second season with Brighton 12/13. Won promotion to the premier league via the play-offs. My starting eleven for the new season is:

    GK: Joe Lewis
    RB: Sander Keller
    LB: Mariano Pernia
    CB: Matthew Upson
    CB: Glenn Loovens

    DM: Eric Djemba-Djemba
    CM: David Beckham
    CM: Luigi Bruins

    ST: Marvin Sordell
    ST: Michael Owen
    ST: Jordan Rhodes

Having been given little transfer funds and a very small wage budget i have gone for the wise heads with a couple of kids thrown in. I think i might break the record for the least points gained in a season.
