If you absolutely wanted to create your own club, why not do so with a clean slate? Set up the club with few funds, say 100k, no transfer funds, no players, no backroom staff, low reputation, and then set about your business. Now it looks like you've basically made sure you'll fly up the leagues. I honestly don't see the fun in that. It's obvious some of these players, if not many of them, are way too good for the level you started out at (or even above that as Hernandez are still banging them in in League Two..).

Maybe I'm a strange breed, but the most fun I have with this game is to build up a team and find struggle at every turn. When you then succeed you know you have actually accomplished something.

If you find this fun long-term, however, by all means play like this. It's your game and all that. Just as I play my game how I like, you should play your game how you like. But I do think a save where you are pretty much clicking continue and receiving wins galore will not be very fun in the long term. Racing a Lada with a Ferrari may be fun the first few times, but after a while it becomes stale and predictable.

    Car analogies ftw

A great way to put it mate, I totally agree. I was manchester united manager and won everything till it became repetitive. I know in Holland struggling in Jupiler League with Haarlem. Oh the joys.

Very well presented thread but I have to agree that it seems too easy, I will keep reading though to see what it's like once you reach the EPL. Javier Hernandez is a beast in the top Mexican league he is way too good for the lower English leagues, he should be getting 50 plus goals a season. Can I ask what starting reputation you gave your club? I had a game just like this on FM08 and it was great fun, did you give yourself a sugar daddy?

If it's possible from now on any chance you could post the players stats for the season, wouldn't mind seeing the best 11's from the season you have played so far. I will keep reading and I think your save will become good once you reach the EPL. Good luck dude.

Yeah with the right tutoring and training he could become a back up for a top EPL side on FM, he was outscoring my players in my days in Mexico he was so good I hated him.

Thanks for the replies, the points made are fair and expected, it's ok, I know my game is totally unrealistic but what I would like to do is have to two save files, 1-this type and 2-normal game.
So a fantasy type game and then another game where I manage real clubs, this is the type of thing I have done on other management games.

Yeah it is and yes I did, I did think about starting again in the way that Pangaea said, but at the moment I'm really enjoying this game.

Fair enough that some of the players are too good for the lower levels, but I wanted some players that would be with the club during the hopeful rise to the prem. Javier Hernandez has been great, I didn't know much about him when I set this game up, and shortly after I did he was signed by Man Utd.

Ok I will sort that info out and then put it up.

    Season 4 - Coca-Cola League 1 - 2012/2013

    -----------------------------------

    Season Details

    Transfers
Stopsley Utd pay £2.5m for John Bostock. Stopsley signed 21 players.
16 players left the club and a further 13 players went out on loan deals.

    League Table
Stopsley Utd finish in 12th position, Leeds Utd won the League One title and Derby County finish runners-up.
Leicester City who finished 3rd also win promotion after beating Harchester Utd in the Play-off final at Wembley.

    League Results
A mixed bag of League results, we were very inconsistent and suffered some really bad defeats.
We did produce many fine performances and finally managed a win against Harchester Utd.
The best result was the 3-1 win over Leeds Utd with Beckford netting a hat-trick against his old club.
Stopsley also struggled due to lengthy injury setbacks suffered by Javier Hernandez, John Bostock & Jermaine Beckford

    Johnstone's Paint Trophy
We had a good run in this cup making it to the Southern section final.
We came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 in the 1st leg but Southend
edged us 1-0 in the 2nd leg to beat us 3-2 on aggregate.

    League Cup
Rubbish, dumped out in first round.

    FA Cup
    Same as League Cup..

Thanks for your replies, nice to know that there are a few LMA'ers on here, took me quite a while to get into FM but my obsession with Stopsley Utd continues.

I have corrected a mistake in my update post, we actually made it to the Southern section final of the JPT.

    Season 8 - Coca-Cola Championship - 2016/2017

    -----------------------------------

    July 2016
    Pre-Season

Well another win against GH Academy, a draw against our feeder club Northampton.
Good wins over Galway Utd, Rapids Academy and Radstock.

    -----------------------------------

    August 2016

A tough start and not a good one, narrow defeat against QPR but totally shocking against Hull City.
We led 2-1 against Sheff Utd but they eventually overpowered to record a comfortable win.
Managed to pick up our first point but was disappointed not to win against Crystal Palace.
I was happy with the draw against Bolton, we were behind for a long time, but Hernandez levelled late.

We struggled to get past Cheltenham in the cup, Amautovic scored his first goal for the club to take us
through after extra time. We were superb against Southampton, I wasn't expecting much to be honest.
It leaves me scratching my head and asking "why can't we perform like that more often?"

    -----------------------------------

    Transfers

Fourteen players joined Stopsley and sixteen players left, two of each were loan deals.
I didn't really want to lose Pulhac, Zaluska or Edwards but they wouldn't agree to new contracts.
I'm happy with the signings especially Ernst, Lukovic, Carrick and Amautovic.
Baker (CB) & Roberts (ST) are young players, I'm hoping they will prove good for the future.

    September 2016

We led 3-1 but Lee Novak scored his 2nd of the game then West Brom levelled at 3-3
when Pablo Sanchez scored from the spot after Phil Bardsley was sent-off on 83 minutes.

We were no match for Watford, Rofe scored the first goal of his loan spell but Watford
added a 4th goal just minutes later.

We cameback from a goal down to lead 2-1 against Middlesbrough, Cameron Jerome was a hat-trick
hero for Boro with goals on 81 & 83 minutes adding to his leveller on 53 minutes.

Watford beat us for a 2nd time in the month, this time it was a closer affair but a strike from
Harrie Gommans on 19 minutes was enough to see them into the next round.

Stopsley came up against Harchester Utd for the 15th time and Harchester were 2-0 up after
just 25 minutes. James Wallace pulled a goal back on 85 minutes but Harchester held on for their
    7th win against Stopsley Utd.

The game against Derby wasn't great, but at least it was a clean sheet, that's
something Stopsley haven't been looking like keeping very often.

    -----------------------------------

    October 2016

Stopsley started the month still looking for a league win, they got it in a thriller against Ipswich.
Victor Moses gave Ipswich a 28th minute lead, but spells just before
and just after half time turned the game firmly in Stopsley's favour,
Marko Amautovic 41' & 45+1' sent Stopsley into the break 2-1 up.
Javier Hernandez 46' & 49' then saw them race into a 4-1 lead, Aaron Doran
pulled a goal back for Ipswich on 52 minutes and when Victor Moses scored
again on 85 minutes it was a nervy finish but Stopsley held on.

Lewis Grabban gave Swansea a 2-0 half-time lead, Hernandez pulled 1 back
early in the 2nd half but Stopsley couldn't find another.

Goals from Mayor 13' & Hernandez 38' saw Stopsley gain their 2nd win
with a 2-0 trumph over Peterborough Utd.

Javier Hernandez netted 3 minutes into injury time to grab a point against Reading,
John Bostock saw red on the stroke of half time against bottom club Wigan, Paul Downing
gave Stopsley a 67th minute lead but Wigan shared the points thanks to Fernando Usero.

    -----------------------------------

    Championship Full Table

    Harchester United in Top Spot!

Harchester Utd lead the Championship by 1 point, Bolton are 2nd and Wolves are 3rd.
Wigan Athletic are bottom and have had 10pts deducted for going into administration.

Have you recieved any big offers for Hernandez?

With a silly strike rate like that, I'm amazed you've kept hold of him.

Well ..... yeah he has been linked with many clubs, had a lot of messages saying that managers/teams are interested but we have never had an official bid made for him.

Marko Amautovic scored twice with his 2nd coming 3 minutes into injury time to
earn Stopsley a point against Wolves. Amautovic opened the scoring but Wolves hit
back and when they took the lead on 90 minutes they looked set to win.

We dominated against Millwall but couldn't take any of the numerous chances
that we created, was very disappointed to lose and not at all pleased with the ref
for giving them a very soft penalty on 18 minutes.

Made a bad start against Portsmouth and was expecting the worst when Goddard
gave them the lead after just 7 minutes, but we cameback strong to take the points.
We carried the form into the game against Plymouth and Amautovic put us ahead
after just 4 minutes, Beckford wrapped up the win with a strike on 84 minutes.

We made it 3 wins in a row with 4-1 away win over Southampton, Hernandez opened
the scoring on 27 minutes but The Saints were level 8 minutes later when Tom Heaton
put the ball into his own net, the players didn't let their heads drop and instead the setback
spurred them on. Hernandez 41' & Amautovic 44' gave Stopsley a comfortable lead.
Renatinho pounced on a loose ball on 60 minutes to make it 4-1 and secure another 3 points.

    Latest Transfer Deals

Stopsley Utd made 5 signings during October and November, Keeper Jan Rauw has joined on loan
from Stopsley's parent club AC Milan and Bruno Pilatos is back at the club for a 2nd spell.

3 young Spaniards have joined Stopsley, the club wanted to have a better look at the
players but with the free transfer period close to closing Woodward decided to take a
chance and signed them on full contracts.

"It's not a big risk anyway, they are free, the wage deals are good but obviously
not big big money, so I see no problem with giving these 3 players a chance to show
us what they can do at the club. I've liked what I've seen so far and I think
they could surprise people who haven't seen or heard of the lads."

A closer look at the Spanish trio.......

Germán Rosado, Alfonso Ramos, Jordi Soto.

    -----------------------------------

    December 2016

The winning run came to an end but we played well against Cardiff, it was
a similar game to the recent fixture with Millwall, we created a lot more chances but
failed to take them. Hammond 77' & Peters 80' made Stopsley rue the missed chances.

Stopsley bounced back to beat Doncaster and Hull City and it was looking good
when the team took a 2-0 lead against Sheffield Utd, however the Blades fought
back in a 9 goal thriller at Bramall Lane. click for game overview

Stopsley responded well in the next game thumping Blackpool 5-1 with young Spaniard
Germán Rosado netting his 2nd goal for the club. Rosado made it 3 in 3 when he scored
the only goal of the game on 27 minutes against Queens Park Rangers.

Chesterfield were next up in the FA cup 3rd round, Hernandez netted a first half
hat trick and with Palsson also the scoring the game was won by half time.
Amautovic added a 5th goal on 74 minutes and Stopsley go into the New Year in great form.

    January 2017

The first game of the year was against league leaders Bolton, it was looking
good as we took a 2-0 lead but they were quick to pull a goal back.
Paul Huntington scored the winner for Bolton on 88 minutes. More Details

We drew the next 3 games starting with a 0-0 against West Brom, Germán Rosado
gave us a 14th minute lead against Crystal Palace but Colin James levelled on 43 minutes.
We then drew 1-1 with Watford, Germán Rosado was on the scoresheet again.

Next up was the FA cup 4th round, we were at home against Harchester utd.
It proved to be a five goal thriller and in the 16th meeting between the two clubs
we managed to seal only our 4th win thanks to a very late strike by Rosado. More Details

Germán Rosado was on the scoresheet for the fourth game running when he gave
us the lead against Swansea City after just 6 minutes, we were held to a fourth
league draw in a row when Stephan Ward made it 1-1 on 78 minutes.

We then travelled to Middlesbrough and a Lewin Nyatanga own goal put us
ahead on 25 minutes, Middlesbrough hit back through Oniforos Roushias 31'
and Cameron Jerome 38' to lead 2-1. Javier Hernández squared the game in
first half injury time and we were held to a fifth Consecutive league draw.

    January Transfers
The offer from Spurs was too good to turn down, it's worth an initial
£3.4m and will rise by £1.3 when/if Amautovic scores 30 goals.

Gianpaolo Bertelli then made the move in the opposite direction as
we used some of the money from the Amautovic deal.

Scott Loach was signed to come and be our number one as I see
Tom Heaton more as a back up keeper for us, Kevin Foley was
recommended by one of my scouts and will provide competition
for Phil Bardsley at right back.

    -----------------------------------

    February 2017

It was 0-0 at half time against Ipswich but we took control in the second half
to final end the run of draws and secure a deserved victory and 3pts. More Details

The next game against Harchester Utd turned into a shocker, it started well
with Martyn Waghorn giving us the lead on 6 minutes. Harchester levelled
through Daniel Golebiewski on 29 minutes, things were still looking ok with
both sides looking to win the game, Miguel Pallardo put Harchester ahead on
74 minutes and then Stopsley fell apart, Bjorn Helge Riise 76' made it 3-1.

    Transfers So Far...
Nine players in and nine players out so far, We have spent £1.8m and I'm
confident that these players will do a good job for us in our push for promotion.

I didn't want Andros Townsend to leave but he wouldn't accept
a new deal, so I will be interested to see where he ends up going.
I wasn't planning to sell Tom Heaton but the offer came in from Spurs
and I feel that Jan Sebek is good enough cover for Scott Loach anyway.

    January 2018

A good start to the new year with a 4-2 win against Ipswich Town.
That win was followed with a very late winner away at Sunderland.
We should have made it another win but Derby cameback from
3-1 down to grab a share of the points at Pride Park.

We were 2-0 up against Wolves but again we let a 2 goal lead slip.
We then faced Forest Green Rovers away in the FA Cup, it was
a poor result as we were held to a 0-0 draw, but well played Forest Green.

The month ended with a 4th draw in a row, Davide Petrucci gave us
a 14th minute lead against Reading, 2 quick goals from Joseph Mills (61')

two second half strikes, it was harder than expected but
Stopsley Utd are through to the 5th round.

had snatched a late win but they were denied by Davide Petrucci.
The visit to Meadow Lane saw Stopsley hold on in a nine goal
thriller to take the points in a 5-4 win over Notts County.

In the FA Cup 5th round we were up against Premier League side Bolton.
It didn't start well, but we performed superbly to pull off a great win.

Kolo Toure doubled the lead on 32 minutes and just 3 minutes later a strike
from Victor Pálsson made it 3-0, Stopsley winger Renatinho completed the scoring
with our 4th goal on 70 minutes.

The final game of February saw a match between 1st & 2nd at Stopsley Park.

after just 4 minutes, Jay Simpson made it 2-0 on 57 minutes.
Davide Petrucci pulled a goal back on 68 minutes but
Doncaster Rovers held on for a hard fought 2-1 win.

misery Stopsley centre back Paul Downing was sent off
in the dying seconds of the game.

David Worrall (62') and an own goal from Damian Robertson (72')
gave Stopsley a 2-0 lead but QPR cameback to grab a point.

Goals from Darren Bent, David Bentley and Niki Zimling saw Stopsley
slump to another defeat. It turned out to be the worst month
of the season, and after leading the Championship for so long
the sloppy late form has cost Stopsley Utd the trophy.

We are in great form and are shock leaders, things are going far better
than I expected. The players have been superb and to think that
early in the season I let them feel my anger after a couple of poor performances.

The injury to Milevskyi was a big blow, the free signing has been
in sensational form for us, Good news for us is that we have a striker
joining in a deal worth £3.2m in January, the deal was agreed earlier in the
season, Who? a former Arsenal player is all I will say, not saying if that is
in the game or real life..

The run in to the season is gonna be a tight tense battle for the title.
Despite only taking one point from a possible nine in March we are still
very well placed in third, level on points with the top two.

Nicklas Bendtner has proved to be a great signing so far, and he has
pretty much taken over from where Milevskyi left off before the injury.

Premier League Table - Man City Edge Close Battle
Stopsley Utd suffered last day agony losing the title to Man City
on goal difference as both sides draw last game of the season.

Stopsley were 2-0 down at half time against relegated Harchester.
Two late second half goals kept them in with a chance but Man City
drew 1-1 with Tottenham to lift the Premier League trophy.

Despite the last day heartbreak it has been a superb season for
Stopsley Utd, they were not expected to be in contention for the
title, so to come so close and secure a place in the Champions League
is magnificent effort from the players and coaching staff.

He had an outstanding season and earned his side several

    SEASON 2022/2023 REVIEW

    -----------------------------------

    Community Shield
We lost to Huddersfield on penalties.

    Premier League - Final Table
Arsenal were deserved winners, to be honest I'm not unhappy with our
3rd place finish, yes I wanted to defend the title but our overall stats are
good and our finish to the season was superb (winning last 8 PL games).

    FA Cup
Poor display in 3rd round replay against Manchester Utd.

    League Cup
We suffered a surprise defeat to Leicester City in Quarter-Finals.

    Champions League
Qualified from our group with ease and was able to make
big changes in last game having already qualified for 2nd round.
Home defeat proved costly as we suffered a narrow 3-2 aggregate
defeat to Espanyol in the Quarter-Finals.

Premier League Table - Liverpool remain top but only by a single point.

Stopsley Utd's next game is at Anfield for a top of the table showdown with Liverpool.

Transfers - Pavel Macek joins Spurs, Stopsley sign two more players.

Real Madrid made an offer of £36m for Graham Lewin, that is double what
we paid Valencia for him, the offer was rejected, he's been playing great.
We don't need the money and even if we did I still wouldn't choose to sell him.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Champions League News - Stopsley Utd will face Real Zaragoza in the 2nd Round.

Stopsley travel to Spain for the 1st leg in February with the return leg taking place
at Stopsley Park in March. Stopsley will be hoping to avoid double pain in Spain after
Espanyol ended the clubs Champions League hopes last season in the Quarter-Finals.

    Thanks.

Admittedly I made my team too strong at the very start and it was probably easier than it should have been, but I think since getting to the PL we have overachieved, and now expectations are probably higher because of that.

I've had a great start with Nigeria, not gonna give too much away but we still have a bit of work to do to qualify for the World Cup.

I will get another update posted soon.

    SEASON 2023/2024 REVIEW

Stopsley Utd enjoyed a very successful season lifting two trophies.
The first trophy was secured with victory against Aston Villa in
the penultimate Premier League game of the season. The triumph
saw Stopsley claim the Premier League title for a second time.

Stopsley Utd's League Cup campaign was very short, just one game
which ended in a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal in the 3rd round.

The FA Cup was a much better story. Stopsley made it to the final
and claimed the trophy with a superb performance to beat Blackburn
4-1 at Wembley and secure a domestic double.

Stopsley enjoyed a great run in the Champions League, they made it
all the way to the final but suffered a tough loss agianst Real Madrid.

    Season 16 - 2024/2025 ----- February, March & April

    FA Cup
We suffered defeat in the FA Cup losing 3-2 on penalties to Huddersfield.

    Premier League
Going well until a blip in March when we lost a seven goal thriller against West Ham.
I was far from happy with the ref, three penalties against and our captain shown a straight red.
That was followed by defeat to Arsenal, Harchester then snatched a late point before
we then suffered a third defeat in four league games going down 1-0 away to Aston Villa.

We were back to winning ways with a 4-0 win over Leeds and a 1-0 win against Blackburn.
Man Utd were up next and we produced a superb display to thump them 5-0.

    Champions League
We bounced back well and gave Bayern Munich a drubbing in the Champions League.
That set up a Quarter-Final with Bordeaux and we progressed with a 4-2 win on aggregate.

We faced an all English Semi-Final showdown with Arsenal and a good solid display saw us win the away leg 1-0.
Our lead was increased 28 minutes into the second leg thanks to an own goal, the game proved to be a tense affair and
with the score at 3-2 to us on aggrgate it was a nervy finish as a goal from Arsenal would see them trough on away goals.
Thankfully our nerves were finally settled by Ryan Sobers and we won 3-2 on the night and 4-2 on aggregate.

We will be up against Lazio in the Final after they defeated defending champions Real Madrid.

    Thanks.

After our first season in the PL he did slowly become mainly back up due to new signings, but I would say he was a good player to have squad wise and could do a good job when needed as I think his stats show.

    Some recent manager news....

    A bit harsh.

He was replaced by Marcelino and they have since lost and also drew 4-4 after leading 4-1 at half time.

    STOPSLEY UTD

    Season 16 - 2024/2025 ----- May

    -----------------------------------

Aston Villa suffered back to back defeats against Man City and Man Utd so our
2-0 win over Everton secured the League title with two games to spare.

The League campaign nearly ended in defeat but we salvaged a point coming
back from two down against Chelsea at Chelsea Stadium (FM stadium names?).

The very last game of the 2024/2025 season was the Champions League Final.
We were up against Lazio, hoping we could improve on last seasons runners-up spot.

Unfortunately we couldn't and yet again found ourselves defeated 2-0.

We got off to a solid start against Algeria in the third round stage, but we came unstuck in
a shock home defeat to Namibia, we bounced back with an easy win a few days
later against Benin but it was only a friendly, we had tough games to come.

We managed to grab a point with an 85th minute goal against Senegal, then we left it
late against Namibia to gain revenge and take top spot, the winning goal coming
in the second minute of injury time. Another draw against Senegal saw us go
into the final game just two points ahead of Algeria.

A draw would have been enough but two goals in the last eight minutes
saw us qualify and make it look a bit more comfortable.

    Season 17 - 2025/2026 --- July, August, September & October

    -----------------------------------

    Staff News
I was offered a contract extension which I gladly accepted. Details
    Now on £100,000 per week.

News I forgot to mention last season, half way through
Stopsley legend Javier Hernandez became my assistant manager.
    Info 1 - Info 2 - Career Stats

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

We finally won the Community Shield beating Man Utd on penalties.
Then we had an amazing start in the Premier League with a record win against Burnley.
We continued in good form until Everton inflicted our first defeat.
We also looked to be heading for a good win against Man City and led 3-0 but
City left us shocked as they pegged us back in the last 20 minutes to gain a draw.

The 3-0 defeat to Blackburn was our only really poor display, we were 2-0 down
early on and never got going in the game, we bounced back well if a much changed team
sealing comfortable progress to the next round of the League Cup.

    Transfers
We smashed our transfer record to sign England international Jason Sercombe.
I tried to sign him a couple of seasons ago but Napoli wanted £98m plus 2 of our players.

    Champions League
Looking very good at the halfway stage of the group, a 100% record
and victory in our next game should secure a place in the next round.

    Season 17 - 2025/2026 --- November & December

We wrapped up qualification for the next round of the Champions League with
two games to spare, so I was able to rest players and give some young players
experience in European football, also our captain Graham Lewin picked up a booking
in the fifth game and that saw him recieve a one game ban for reaching the limit.
That was handy for us because he would serve that ban in our last group game and
he would then be available for the knockout stage first leg game.

We finished with a 100% record and the final group game saw 16 year old Phil Denton
make his debut and he took just 30 minutes to get his first goal for the club.
17 year old Terry Edwards who we signed from Portsmouth for £1m was also on the scoresheet.

We will face Ajax in the next round.

We were top of the table and on a fine unbeaten run until we made the trip
to Anfield to play second placed Liverpool, we suffered a heavy defeat as
Neil Liversedge (3) and Luc Castaignos (2) ran us ragged, Liversedge even missed a pen.
We regained top spot when Liverpool lost 1-0 to Harchester and we trounced Man Utd.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nigeria - African Cup and World Cup

Nigeria have been drawn in Group B of the African Cup of Nations.
We will face Guinea, South Africa and Zambia.

In the World Cup we are drawn in Group C with Croatia, Serbia and Uruguay.

We have also agreed to play a friendly away against Seychelles in April 2026.

    Match 1
    Guinea 2 Nigeria 3
We made hard work of it but off to a winning start.

    Match 2
    Nigeria 1 Zambia 2
Caught out either side of halftime, left with a tough game to get through.

    Match 3
    Nigeria 4 South Africa 0
We needed a big result and we got it.

    Quarter-Final
    Nigeria 1 Ivory Coast 1
We should have won in normal time, but we were hanging on towards
the end of extra-time, maybe tired legs cost us in the shoot-out.

    Season 17 - 2025/2026 --- January & February

A couple of league defeats in January saw us slip 10pts behind Liverpool.
We are now on a run of 10 games unbeaten in all comps and with 6 wins
and a draw in the league we have closed the gap with Liverpool to
just 4pts, with 10 games to go it's going to be a good battle for the title.

We will face Man City in the League Cup final in March after a comfortable win over Fulham.
We are also looking good in the FA Cup with a quarter-final against Harchester to come.
In the Champions League we hold a good advantage over Ajax and should safely
progress through to the next round, so as things stand we still have a chance to win 5 trophies.

Transfer Update - 3 more players join Stopsley Utd.

    Season 17 - 2025/2026 --- March & April

The League Cup final ended in disappointment as Man City net late winner.
That started a bad spell for us as we then slipped to a surprise league defeat
to West Brom in the next game and we followed that with yet
another defeat, going out of the FA Cup to Harchester Utd.

We completed a fine 5-0 aggregate win over Ajax in the Champions League
but then we lost another league game, we took a 2-0 lead against Villa
but 2 goals in the last 6 minutes saw comeback to win 3-2.

The league results improved again and we closed Liverpool's lead to
just 1 point with 3 games to go, It's all set up for a tense finish.

We managed a good solid 5-2 aggregate win over Real Madrid to
book our place in the Chamions League Semi-Finals.
However the 1st leg turned into a nightmare and we have
a mountain to climb in the 2nd after losing 5-1 to Bayern Munich.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    Remaining Fixtures

Didn't finish April for this update because it leaves it in an interesting position
with drama to come, anyway I'm not being a big tease because I'm not holding
back the results, I haven't played them yet.

So next up is a massive game with Liverpool, it could decide who will
be champions, we can't afford to lose because we would then need a miracle.

Then we have the 2nd leg against Bayern and well yeah we need a miracle in
that game, gutted about the 1st leg but well we did do the same thing to them
last season, could we repeat that? we will give it a good go that's for sure.

    Season 17 - 2025/2026 --- April & May

A very late penalty gave us a 2-1 win against Liverpool and advantage in the title race.
We followed that with big win against Man Utd so we went into the final
game knowing that a draw would be enough to clinch the Premier League title.

Fulham made it tough but with the score locked at 1-1 we received news
that Liverpool were losing 3-1 to Leeds Utd so even if Fulham could have
beaten us we would still be champions, goals in the 85th and 90th minutes
saw us to a 3-1 win and our third title in a row.

Chelsea went into the last game of the season in the relegation zone but
a 3-1 over Stoke City saw them survive by the skin of their teeth.

If the drama in the Premier League wasn't exciting enough we had more to come in the Champions League
and we had a big mountain to climb after losing 5-1 to Bayern Munich in the 1st leg. We got an early boost in
the 2nd leg, Bayern found themselves down to 10 men after just 7 minutes.

We were 2-0 up at halftime and the comeback was on, three more goals
in the 2nd half saw us complete an amazing comeback to triumph 6-5 on aggregate.

So we were into our third final in three years and we were hoping to make it
third time lucky, our opponents were Arsenal and game took place at Ibrox Stadium.
It didn't start well and we behind after just 5 minutes, Ryan Sobers levelled just
before halftime, but just 7 minutes into the 2nd half we were down to 10 men.

The game went to extra-time and we won a penalty, but after Lewin was sent-off
I forgot to check/change who was taking them, up stepped Vasilis Matsos.
He wouldn't have been my choice so I sat and wathed expecting the worst
but he kept his cool and slotted the ball home and we led 2-1 with 20 mins to go.

The clock was approaching 120 minutes and it looked like we would be Champions
of Europe, but no a lapse in the centre of our defence saw Turner go through
on goal to take the game to the dreaded penalty shoot-out.

It proved to be heartbreak again for Stopsley Utd, we failed with 3 attempts and Arsenal triumphed 3-0.

Bad luck with the penalty defeat, but still a good season with the league win.
