January 2017

The first game of the year was against league leaders Bolton, it was looking
good as we took a 2-0 lead but they were quick to pull a goal back.
Paul Huntington scored the winner for Bolton on 88 minutes. More Details
We drew the next 3 games starting with a 0-0 against West Brom, Germán Rosado
gave us a 14th minute lead against Crystal Palace but Colin James levelled on 43 minutes.
We then drew 1-1 with Watford, Germán Rosado was on the scoresheet again.
Next up was the FA cup 4th round, we were at home against Harchester utd.
It proved to be a five goal thriller and in the 16th meeting between the two clubs
we managed to seal only our 4th win thanks to a very late strike by Rosado. More Details
Germán Rosado was on the scoresheet for the fourth game running when he gave
us the lead against Swansea City after just 6 minutes, we were held to a fourth
league draw in a row when Stephan Ward made it 1-1 on 78 minutes.
We then travelled to Middlesbrough and a Lewin Nyatanga own goal put us
ahead on 25 minutes, Middlesbrough hit back through Oniforos Roushias 31'
and Cameron Jerome 38' to lead 2-1. Javier Hernández squared the game in
first half injury time and we were held to a fifth Consecutive league draw.
January Transfers
The offer from Spurs was too good to turn down, it's worth an initial
£3.4m and will rise by £1.3 when/if Amautovic scores 30 goals.
Gianpaolo Bertelli then made the move in the opposite direction as
we used some of the money from the Amautovic deal.
Scott Loach was signed to come and be our number one as I see
Tom Heaton more as a back up keeper for us, Kevin Foley was
recommended by one of my scouts and will provide competition
for Phil Bardsley at right back.

February 2017

It was 0-0 at half time against Ipswich but we took control in the second half
to final end the run of draws and secure a deserved victory and 3pts. More Details
The next game against Harchester Utd turned into a shocker, it started well
with Martyn Waghorn giving us the lead on 6 minutes. Harchester levelled
through Daniel Golebiewski on 29 minutes, things were still looking ok with
both sides looking to win the game, Miguel Pallardo put Harchester ahead on
74 minutes and then Stopsley fell apart, Bjorn Helge Riise 76' made it 3-1.
Pallard got his 2nd from the spot on 83 minutes and Golebiewski scored his
2nd goal and Harchester's fifth in the 87th minute.
We then faced a trip to Anfield for the FA cup 5th round, confidence
was low and Liverpool were expected to win by a comfortable margin.
They did win and our goal was bombarded with over 20 shots, but despite being
outplayed for most of the game we came away with a respectable scoreline. More Details
Gianpaolo Bertelli put us head against Derby on 41 minutes, but a quick
double from Curtis Main in the second half gave Derby the 3pts. More Details
Will Hoskins scored after just 5 minutes to give Peterborough the lead.
Javier Hernández levelled on 21 minutes but Hoskins restored the lead
for Peterborough 2 minutes into the second half, Andros Townsend
rescued a late point for us with a strike on 88 minutes.
