Reserve squad

Hi.

I am now managing Leeds my first season. And I went to the reserves squad and to my surprise I found some players that were of much higher quality than some of the players in my 1st squad. So how can I promote a player from the reserves to the 1st team?

Edit: I'm talking about the iPhone/iPod version of the game.

I've noticed that too but they aren't meant to be accessible.
