Has been a promising prospect at Sporting Lisbon for a while now, but not exactly setting the world a light.
However on FM for me he is just phenomenal. Doing an Arsenal season on FM09 and in 2016/17 and he's been the Premier League Player of the Year for the last 6 seasons. He consistently has over 20 assists a season with goals ranging from 15-25. Free Kick and Penaltly specialist. Also captain.
Just wondering if anybody else has experienced the same thing with Miguel Veloso?
A poor mans Fabregas but that means he is still a quality playmaker.
He suffers from similar problems as Carrick. Low flair, low tackling ability for his positioning, low Off The Ball for his attacking skills, and poor Determination.
That said, he is still an awesome playmaker, and used correctly can be a huge part of a lethal team. The combination of Anticipation and Composure is very often overlooked when looking for playmakers, and these are VITAL attributes for genuine playmakers. The true best playmakers in the game (Xavi) combine Anticipation, Composure, Creativity, Technique and Decisions with large quantities of Flair.
Alas neither Carrick or Veloso has high Flair, and so do not exert their attacking passing skills to the level they are capable of.
He was my favourite signing on FM09. Had him partnering Fabregas in the midfield, and he was awesome at the holding role, as well as getting forward and supporting attacks. Scored loads of Free kicks.
Yeah, not an expensive player either. I bought him in the first season for around 7 mill, you can see to get him for between 5-12 mill on most games. Bargain.
Lost... And also naked.. Do you know where i live?

Re: Miguel Veloso
I had him in FM09 and he was good, not brilliant but good enough. In 2010, being Leeds United i had no chance cause he'd already gone to Real Madrid but Jack Rodwell, Dan Gosling and Ignacio Camacho are just as good in my game. Even Edgar Barreto is on par for me and he's a real bargain at around £4m.
