Any interest in a loanees challenge where you use only loanees to gain promotion? You can use any team in the world by using any league that is in the boxed/steam download game and during the first season you'll be allowed to have 5 non-loanees in your team. You can also sign free agents during the first season and signings can only be made by signing current/ previous loanees.

Don't most leagues have a limit on the number of loanees you can either have or play?

I'm looking at starting a Myfootball Club takeover kinda thing where each week we will vote for the starting XI, we will pick the club, pick the manager, pick the signings all from a list.

The sign-up will consist of people choosing which department that wish to participate in. Eg. Signings, Picking The Team, Hiring Staff, Budgeting etc.

Let me know what you think!

Could be pretty good if you had dedicated people (posting regularly), as i know a few just sign up for stuff and dont bother with them.

Really good idea, but I agree with CB, it will be tough to get people to follow consistently.

I like the idea, and also agree with Pluck & Charles, you would need to make sure you had a clear core in each area of the sign-up because there are people out there who sign-up and we never see them again til we start a new one

I have some questions for you guys:

    1. I have created a new nation in where players from a sign-up will be from. However, my tests show that the national teams are only consisting of players that I will be creating. How can I fill the nation with players so my sign-up players don't automatically get picked?
    2. How many players would you recommend creating for a team? 3 x GK, 6 x DEF (4 x center + 4 x backs), 6 x MID (4 x center + 4 x wings), 4 x ATT = 19 ?

I agree, if some dedicated users were to sign-up they could then become heads of departments which they would have the final decision to what happens in their department. That way if no one was to contribute in that department for 1 decision, the head of department would be able to make that decision.

That sounds like a plan for a way to do it, also makes it a lot more definite that you will have a sign-up with participation that continues.

    Mikael:

    1. I believe you would need to create a league as well (Stadiums based in the nation) and have that nations teams generate players for the nation, this would also generate players automatically at the start of the game. Otherwise you would need to actually create all the players.
    2. I actually count 23 players in your list, but if that is the sign-up players then about 23 is good, 2 for each position through your squad and 3 GKs. If you are talking enough players to make the nation playable and hence be able to fully see their matches I believe it is 32, but ask Canvey he ran a test somewhere

what I have created so far is:
    1 nation
    2 cities within the nation
2 stadiums in the nation, 1 in each city
1 team based in BSN with stadium from one of the cities

I feared I had to create a league structure too because that means a lot of work.

I wasn't planning on the sign-up to be players for a whole nation squad. I am planning on a BSN team with players from the same nation. How these players get to play national matches, that is up to the national manager to decide.

But I can see that leaves me with a problem if I don't create a league to generate enough players. My test run showed that the national squad consisted of the generated players from the BSN team but when the sign-up players gets created, then there won't be any other generated players to fill out the places, meaning that the whole BSN team will play every national team matches.

    bummer

I believe that they will be kept out by greys for a while, but in the end they will just take over and all feature in the team. Which will mean also a huge amount of fixture squashing for you as you get them further on...

Precisely and I don't want that meaning I have to look into creating a whole league structure with teams etc.

It shouldn't take much, maybe even a single closed league, about 12-16 teams with reserves and youth sides...just need to make the clubs...thats the hardest part

I guess I can leave much of the details of the clubs to nothing and only concentrate on league structure and team names? Things like reputation, board members, staff etc can be left alone, right?

Just a quick question/plee for help.

Basically, I'm looking into running another version of Whoopy D's fantastic World Cup 2010 OOTP.

However, I'm coming across a couple of problems.

At the moment, I'm in possession of two, that's right two, save games where the correct national teams have qualified. One of them has the complete draw too.

However, there are a couple of problems. Two of the teams that have qualified are Germany and Japan, which aren't usually playable. Now after a spot of luck *ahem* I've been able to start a game as Germany, but I can't pick up Germany when I add new manager to one of the save games. I can't even start with Japan, so it's a no go there.

So as far as I see it, I have two options.

    1) Use one of the two saves I've got at the moment, and have 2 AI teams.

    or

    2) Not have the actual teams who have qualified.

Now option 2 seems the sensible one. Start as Germany, holiday through qualification etc. But that still leaves Japan in the mix. Somehow, I've got to make it so Japan don't qualify.

I tired editing a couple of things with the database like injuring all the players and giving them a low reputation. But that doesn't work.

I'm on a Mac, so I can't use FMRTE either.

So really, I either need some other ideas using the pre-game editor to make Japan not qualify, or a kind soul to do it for me.

That would be wonderful, if you could be so kind.

One thing to keep in minds though, is that the database needs to be big enough to have all the international players for the teams which qualify.

When I ran mine on the database I put "load all players of Nationality..." for the nations I didn't expect to be covered even in a large database: New Zealand, North Korea, Algeria etc.

List of dates of games you need to fix:

    Code:
    AMERIC - 12TH AUGUST

    AMERIC - 5TH SEPTEMBER
    ASIA - 5TH SEPTEMBER
    AFRICA - 5TH SEPTEMBER
    SAMERIC - 5TH SEPTEMBER

    AFRICA - 6TH SEPTEMBER

    SAMERIC - 8TH SEPTEMBER

    AMERIC - 9TH SEPTEMBER
    ASIA - 9TH SEPTEMBER
    AFRICA - 9TH SEPTEMBER
    Europe - 9TH SEPTEMBER

    AFRICA - 10TH SEPTEMBER

    SAMERIC 10TH OCTOBER
    AMERIC - 10TH OCTOBER
    EUROPE - 10TH OCTOBER
    ASIA - 10TH OCTOBER

    AFRICA - 11TH OCTOBER

    SAMERIC - 13TH OCTOBER

    AMERIC - 14TH OCTOBER
    EUROPE - 14TH OCTOBER

    AFRICA - 14TH NOVEMBER
    ASIA - 14TH NOVEMBER
    EUROPE - 14TH NOVEMBER
    SAM - 14TH NOVEMBER

How have you got 34 teams qualifying for the Champions League?

Unless it's that they were set to qualify because of their last season finish, in which case you'll edit the history of that division. EG - Arsenal. You'd edit the Premier League history to make Arsenal finish say 15th, so they wouldn't qualify for Europe.

I'm not following you? I created a custom league with 14 teams in it. I have no clue to where I define which places in the league gets CL qual etc. The league has no relegation places though.

Never mind I thought your league was that Runemarkian thing.

In response to your question it would depend on their Euro Coefficients. If the nation of the custom league has 4 Champions League places, then the top 4 teams will qualify for the Champions League. That's the Champions League. With regards to the Europa League it will depend if you have created an FA Cup style competition where the winner gets Europe. If so one of your Europa Cup places will go to the winner of that cup, with the other/s going to the next place down.

But what I don't get it where I set which places gets entry to which competition. I can't find anything in the editor related to it.
I did create a FA type cup and it seems the winner of that will get the correct entry.

You can't. The game will automatically give the highest placed teams the Champions League place, as far as I know you can't change that.

So I have to look into Euro Coefficients of the league/teams? Something must trigger that 34 teams out of 14 gets into CL

I'm not really sure how that's happened then. If you've got teams that would have qualified for the Champions League by winning their league, eg - Swedish champion then they'd qualify. But I have no idea how you've got 34 places if you only have 18 teams.

That is what I don't get. Could it be that it is because the league is brand new? No history, no former winner? I've created all 14 teams from scratch and they are all the same, except name and stadium name. The league is just for generating players so it is not for playing in it

    A few details:

    Nation rep: 7000
    League standard: 16
Euro Coefficients: 0.00 (from 2003/04 to 2008/09 seasons)

    League rep: 15

    Teams rep: 6000
    Teams status: pro

Hmmm so the nation is brand new? Or are you using one of the nations that already exists? The problem could be that you have added an extra nation to Europe and it doesn't like that...

I edited Ireland (Pre-1922) into my new nation. So its a nation that exists already.

The Inevitable Domination of CSE Nations

So as a spin-off to my fairly successful sign up last year Inevitable Domination of Mediocre European Football Clubs I have decided to start the process of getting ideas/details down for a new sign up. I will still be continuing Destination Europe, it is likely that by the time this sign up has finally been planned, signed up for and edited that Destination Europe will be finished, if not I will put this sign up on hold until Destination Europe is finished.

    Basic idea

The people of CSE will all become head's of FA for European countries, just like in last years edition. However this time you wont become the head of FA for countries like Poland, Finland and the Czech Republic. This time you will become the head of FA for your country. That's right, you will all get the chance to create your own country. I will edit a chosen number of European countries and turn them into CSE countries. For example, we could see BATracerLand created by BATracer addict Robert_296 replacing Wales. The possibilities are endless.

    Editing the Nation

You'll be designated a nation each. You get to rename the nation. You will also be able to provide me with a flag for your nation. Things like importance of football in nation will all be the same.

    League Structure

This is another very exciting part of this sign up, you will get to choose your own one tier league structure. For example, if you want to have 18 teams play each other twice, with the top 4 teams then in a play-off system to decide who wins, you can. If you want to have 40 teams all play each other once, with the winner winning, you can. You'd have the final choice on the number of teams in your league, (minimum of 10, maximum of 40) although the number of the teams would have to be an even number. You also get to choose the rules in your league, for example if you want the match day squads to be all EU, then you can choose that. If you want a certain amount of U21 players in a match day squad you can choose that as well. You will not be able to choose the dates of your league structure, they will all be the same to avoid confusion. The league reputation as well as the transfer windows will be the same for every nation.

    Prize Money

Whilst you'd have the final say on the amount of teams in your league, you will sadly not be able to choose the prize money your teams get. Every nation will get the same amount of prize money to spread between their teams. You can see the benefit of spreading say 50M to 10 teams, rather than 50M to 40 teams. However you would not have to spread the money equally, if you want to give 40M to your first place team and spread 10M between the other teams in the league then you can.

    Cup Competition

You will also be able to create your own FA Cup style competition with the winner qualifying for Europe (depending on the place they finish in the league itself). You could create a straight knockout cup if you have a total of 16 or 32 teams, if you don't then you would have to have a group stage first. Of course I could let you have say 2 teams in the first round, then add more teams in the next round to make it eventually into 8 or 16, but that would be too complicated as the FA Cup of each country wont really be much of a focus. The prize money for each FA Cup competition will be the same.

    Teams in your league

Apart from one team that you yourself have created with a set budget, you will also be able to choose the other teams in your league. The available teams will be teams that are not in Europe as well as teams of European nations that are now defunct, for example if Wales were replaced with BATracerland you could include TNS in your league, not that you would. There will be a fair choice system, I will establish an order of picks, with each user picking a team each in turn. It is likely that the user with the most amount of teams in their league will be last on this list, with the user with the least amount of teams in their league will be first. This is still un-decided though. You will have to bare in mind that I will not be editing the finances or squad of the non-CSE teams, so there probably will be some advantage to picking the richest available teams, at least in the first season or so.

    How do you win?

I will be keeping a points system of each nation's teams performances in the Champions League and Europa League. At the end of the season I will score each nation points F1 style, as if each season is a race. However that is just the point system, I doubt I will get enough seasons completed to make each season a race in an F1 season.

    Feedback/How to sign up

Whilst I am not taking names down yet I would love any feedback from people, how I could make it better etc. I don't know how many I will take yet, but it is likely I will take around 30. When the time comes I will offer a place to the members of Destination Europe who I know will post and are reliable. I will then offer a chance for people who have read the idea in this thread and expressed interest in taking part in the eventual sign up, since I know you will also be reliable and post. The remaining places will then be up for grabs for anyone else.

Paul, since you likely won't be able to put all the nations in one file, wouldn't it be easier if each of the participants created their leagues and sent them to you?

Not merge, roberto, just select all of them when it comes to selecting which XML's to use. I don't think merging as worked for anyone in a complete successful attempt yet.

Yes but not one that is already part of the 53 nations of Europe.. (53? I think), I believe you need to drop one of the other nations as this will be the problem. Old versions seemed to allow an extra nation, but the new version doesn't.

so if I have 30 different editor data's with just nation rules edited, if I add another one with the database changes, will that run smoothly?

it should run smoothly, as long as no database changes conflict, such as a nation rules edit that deletes a team and players being added to that time, it will run fine

Hopefully the right place to ask, I am about to post an idea that I would like people to be invoved in.

However before i do so i need to ask the following 2 questions please?

    1) I have a forum created that will be home to all the 'detail' passes, goals, miles run etc.......but the main 'story/updates' will be posted on here. Is the link to the 'detail' forum allowed to be published heer - or will i have to give that to the people that sign up as a PM?

    2) To sign up, there are anumber of questions/choices people have to complete to creat thier player - rather than allow others to see there 'creations' I have an online survey that will gain their choices, again am I allowed to post teh link to that survey - or again does it have to be done via PM?

Once I have the answer to the above two questions I can finish off my opening post to the thread and crack on with it.

    Many thanks in advance.....

anyone think that a thread which gives people a chance to leave a post saying "I'm going on holiday for 2 weeks, wont be able to post" would be a good idea? Rather than posting in all the threads you're involved in or frequent, if you just left a post in that thread then everyone would know you're unavailable to post?

Question Re: Challenges / Sign-Ups / Holiday Games ideas thread.

I am thinking of starting a sign-up like that of Corinthiano Agents sign-up Link: http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php?t=77796

I have a little bit to work out before i do such as the best way to store all the data and best way to produce updates but i was just wondering if there would be any interest in it.
I think i would need between 10 and 15 people to sign-up i have not decided on numbers yet, I will need to work out how long it will take me to update all players and then work out the amount of people i could realistically work with!

If the response is positive then i will work on a start date if not i will think of something else. This will be my very first Sign-up so any help or advice would be greatly received!

    Thanks

    Paul

I think a good idea might be to actually limit the number of players each person can be an Agent for, and at the end of each season when you are assigning new players, they can choose to drop a current star to pick up a new one or they can choose to keep who they have.

    I dunno just an idea.

What sort of number would you think would work as i don't want it to become boring? I am sure i would have the time to keep up with this i would set a routine to make sure that the next update was set to be posted at a certain time and if for any reason i could not meet it i would explain the reasons in the thread.
I was also wondering how many leagues and to what level you all think would make the game interesting?

As soon as i have finalized all of these i will run a holiday game as far as i can to check that my computer can handle it. I might try updating one player career during this save game to see how long it would take to write the reports, then i can work out a base time that i think it will take per player and then decide on the amount of people to sign-up and also how many players they could take on and keep. If it performs ok (which i think it will as its only a year old) I will post the thread and start accepting sign-ups if not i will wait until i buy my new laptop which i dont think will be to far away.

As i said before any help anyone could give advice wise would be great as i am new to this.

In other news, does anyone who has a ps3, the new world cup game and internet connection on their ps3 wish to take part in the OTF World Cup? PM me for details. Obviously this isn't a great place to ask, but this is the only "off topic" place where a lot of regular people visit.

That brings up something I was thinking about the other day, what are we gonna do about stuff like the CSE Fantasy football next year now that the group's gone? Would daf/canvey be alright with us just setting up a thread for it, even if it just provides the links and is then closed, 'tis better than nothing

The time issue is not one that i will have a problem with the only thing that might limit me is not having the experience of running a sign up before but as i have seen in many of the sign-ups that i have read on here everyone is really supportive as long as the effort is put in.
There is always alot of constructive advice from the group that are involved and also from readers. I guess you never learn how to run a sign up until you have jumped in and tried.

Everyone has to start somewhere and luckily for me and hopefully for you all, this is one that i am really interested in. I would join one myself but there is nothing like it at the moment.
All i can promise is i wont give up on it, there may be some mistakes along the way but as i have said i am sure there will be plenty of help and advice on what could be improved/changed.

Plans for New Sign up shelved for now

You will probably remember me talking about a potential new sign up with huge amount of editing and stuff. That idea has unfortunately been shelved for the time being because all of the "plans" for it (5 different word documents) are on my original PC meaning I have no access to them. The plans included templates for the sign up forms, OP, things I needed to in the DB's etc. Whilst I could re-write these plans, the plans I already had were planned to near perfection for the sign up to run smoothly, I'd much rather delay that sign up to FM11 now.

    UK Election Sign up

After axing the sign up above I didn't think that I would bother with a new sign up to run alongside this one. However whilst in the bath on Thursday night a fantastic idea came to me. Whilst it involves a bit more work than this sign up, the updates would most likely only take about an hour to do, and since I now am not going to bother having another FM save game to actually play on, I am going to go ahead and run this new one instead. The sign up is based on the UK Election. I'll have 20 people sign up to take part, each of those 20 people will be assigned a political party, a nationality and a constituency. You will pick your nationality and constituency and will then be randomly assigned one of 5 political parties (Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrat, Green, UK Independance). Some political parties will have more members than others, but each one will have at least 2.

Your in-game player will start life as an 18 year old striker for his local club. I will then simulate the game for 10 years (each year providing a statistical update on each striker's apperances, goals, AVG rating, transfers and even international caps). At the end of those 10 year's each of the 5 parties will have to elect a leader. The members of each party will then PM me (no pun intended ) their chosen leader, which if they want can be themselves, and the person with the most votes will become the leader of that party. If there is a tie then the person with the most career goals will become leader. If you are in a party of two people then you still have the option to vote for yourself or the opposing candidate. Likewise with every other party, if you both vote for yourself or vote for each other, the person with the most goals becomes leader.

Once all 5 leaders are decided the sign up will change fairly considerably. Firstly each leader will pick a member of their party to be their "second in command", whilst this isn't that important they will come in handy later on during the TV debates. Instead of updates on seasons, there will be an update at 3 stages of the season. One will come in December, another in March and the final one at the end of the season in May. With each of the three updates there will be a TV debate with each potential Prime Minister discussing their parties policies and plans. After each debate their "second in command" will give a review of how their leader has done, why the public should vote for them, as well as launching any smear campaigns.

After the final TV debate, the election will begin. In a similar fashion to canvey!!'s Presidential sign up I will create a new thread where people in the sign up and other people on the board can register to vote. After a period of 2 weeks I will close vote registering. I will then divide up all 650 constituencies between the people who have registered to vote. For example if 40 people register to vote, each person will vote for 16 constituencies, with a few voting for 17. You will vote for all of your constituencies via PM to me. You will list the constituencies with which party each one has voted for. This means that yes, you can vote for more than one different party. You could have at least one vote for each party if you wanted!

Once all the votes are in I will then produce 15 hour's worth of coverage of the votes coming in (each hour posted seperately). I plan to make this part of the sign up very Xtra-Normal based. If you don't know what that is it is the site where you type text in and make movies, you've probably seen some in either this sign up or the Top2Bottom sign up. When the 15 hours are up we will have the results. However is that the end? Most likely not!

As there are 5 different parties it is very likely that we will have a hung parliament. If this is the case then I will single out the two parties with the most constituencies. Their leaders will then produce a speech giving reasons and offers to the other 3 parties. The leader of the third biggest party will then PM me the party that they wish to join up with. If after they have joined a side a party has enough votes to win, that party will win. If they don't then the leader of the party with the 4th most votes will PM me. The 5th leader may get their chance to influence things if a leader still hasn't been found. After this process is complete we will have our Prime Minister!

    -

I've given "dibs" if you will to people in my current sign up, I'm expecting around 12 or 13 places to be reserved which would leave roughly 7 or 8 places available. I can't guarantee anyone in here a place until I know exactly how many people from my sign up want to reserve a place, however if you post interest I will be sure to come to you guys first, as far as the other places go.

I'd love to be in it, maybe Plaid Cymru since the big 3 are likely to go quickly and Plaid won't be as popular.

One potential problem I see is that a lot of people would be likely to just vote for themselves rather than for the person that is actually the best candidate.

Whilst this might happen I believe the system in place will be fine, with the person with the most overall goals getting it. I'd like to think that people would vote for the best candidate though.

I'd apply for a place in the parliament, brilliant idea. Don't get too scared of my posting count though as I am mostly in here reading

I've got no problem in reserving anyone a place. As long as you claim your part in the sign up thread when it's released you'll get it.

Sounds like a great Idea, Paul.

I haven't been visiting CSE that much this year (no particular reason why) but I would love a place in that if there are spaces available after the people in your current sign-up have had their allocation.

Interesting idea Paul, but you don't have to reserve a spot for me. But I'll be voting after the TV debate. Good luck with this.

Hello all...thinking of making some kind of sign-up return.

The initial plan is to use the OOTP idea again (originally championed by Bambi, with subsequent spin-offs from myself (Euro 2008) and WhoopyD (WC 2010)), but this time for a "Road to Euro 2012" kind of thing, most likely with it then going into the main tournament. So you would select squads and starting XI for each qualifying game with the aim of qualifying for the Euro's and then tackling the tournament itself. The good idea with this is that the scope would be a lot bigger, up to 53 players (though I'd only say 20-25 would be the limit otherwise people we'd undoubtedly get people dropping out fairly quickly? Plus a lot of work for me then! Also to note Poland and Ukraine automatically qualify so I would most likely not include them as you wouldn't have that many games) with 14 getting to the tournament, as I know quite a few missed out last time due to there being just 16 places.

So here I just want to pose some questions to the forum if I were to go ahead with such an idea:

    1. Would you be interested?
    2. From this link you can find the co-efficents of the European nations. I would do a random draw for what team you got, should all 53 nations be included? Or should I include just the top 40 for example so you don't end up with complete no-hopers? Or would you even encourage being able to manage the likes of San Marino or Andorra?
    3. What kind of numbers would be suitable? Bear in mind I would plan to do similar style updates to those done in the Euro 2008 OOTP game thread, so lots of players would mean we'd progress slower as it'd take me longer to get stuff done!

Think that's it really, got most of the schematics worked out in my head already! Though this is merely a thought at this stage...

    1. It's a great idea, I was disappointed to miss out on your Euro's one but enjoyed Whoopy's despite being crap. I'd definitely be interested.

2/3. I think you should aim for around 25/30. I don't think 40 would be a very good idea as I'm not sure there are that many people on here that would sustain interest in it. As far as the draw goes I think you should do a random draw to see which person gets to choose first, second, third etc. You could then just have every user PM you a list of their preferred team and then give them their highest preferered team in order. For example if you had 30 people, the person in 30th would have the last choice out of everyone, but if you let them choose between all the teams available, then they'd feel better about it then getting randomly given the remaining team? That probably doesn't make sense though.

Like say you're 7th, you would PM something like this -

    1. Russia
    2. Ivory Coast
    3. Vanuatu
    4. Fiji
    5. Cook Islands
    6. England
    7. Ghana

For lack of a better place to post this.

22 points off 1st in the CSE FF league Would have been even closer if I'd remembered to set Lampard as captain /o\

25/30 sounds like the ideal number Wisla, I was apart of the other OOTP's and they are an absolute joy!!

ARGH! Got no idea what to do, bored of the team I support through overplaying (Spurs), have done Dafuge's challenge too last game and it doesn't hold the same appeal this time and find the unusual leagues (i.e. Asian ones) too odd and unknown for my liking. Any ideas what I can do as a challenge?

I'd be interested in this, took part in and loved Whoopy's World Cup 2010.

I would suggest leaving out the likes of San Marino and Andorra, as people who get drawn with them might give up before even starting, knowing they have no chance of getting through.

Tempting, might wait and see if anyone else has a more tempting suggestion, was thinking about the small nation version with Wales too.

If you need assistance in the Asian leagues there's always me.

Or maybe try A-League. It's not much different other than a salary cap really. All Asian leagues have roster restrictions to comply with the ACL roster rules.

I remember someone talking about a corner exploit in some thread but I can't remember which.

My question is, how do I find out whether a downloaded tactic hare using the corner bug or not?

The easiest way Mikael would be, if you are downloading to just change the corner tactic to something you wish to use, this way you will know that you are not using the exploit no matter what, other wise take one from the Tactics Forum, as they seem to have cracked down on it calling it a bug and pulling or closing threads involving it.
