What rep do you think I would need for a created team that has no players, created staff with 20s in specialist areas,starting in one of BSP/BSS/BSN and can only use players that come through the youth team?

Not too high, certainly not the 3000 that has been suggested. I've started a similar game recently, starting in the BSS with a created team with the best possible trianing and youth academy, with no staff or players.
It started with 1000 reputation, took two years to get out of the BSS, three more for promotion from BSP, and I've just had a consolidation year in League Two. Reputation has only risen to 2200ish in this time.

I think the reason that no one will sign up is because you haven't managed to stick to one thread, which gives people the impression that it will be a waste of time.

Like I've suggested, stick to one thread and get tips from people on how to improve it, people here will be supportive. Once people have seen what you can offer and that there is some kind of long term commitment they will be more likely to sign up next time.

It's not always the great ideas that do well, it is the ones which are well presented and interesting to read.

Fairly simple idea, but superbly presented with great attention to detail, that is why it is so popular.

Having a good idea is pretty useless if you don't know how to pull it off. Think about the presentation of your updates, experiment with your current sign up, then think about starting a new one.

I think you need to realise that it's not just doing multiple sign ups that will effect you, but doing a sign up and a story at the same time is never a good idea in my past experience, and looking at others experiences also.

Basically, I'd be the England manager but people would sign up, and every match they would get to pick the team, design their own tactics, pick the squad etc.

Have had shocking luck with FM lately. FM computer stuffed up on Thursday and wouldn't turn on. Away visiting family all this weekend, but I spoke to my mum today and she was saying that they reckon they've fixed the computer and I shouldn't have anymore problems. Fingers Crossed!!!

I'm thinking of starting a series of sign-ups called Silly Season Sign-Ups. Basically, I will pick a silly or unusual different theme for each season, and keep an all-time league table of how well everyone as done. My current ideas for the first seasons include:

Celticses versus Rangerses: Put 12 different teams in the SPL that have Rangers or Celtic in their name and having a player/manager sign up, with the added twist of bonus points for the overall winners of Celtic teams or Rangers teams, creating an element of team work.

League of Naughty Words: A league full of teams with rude words in their names (Scunthorpe, Arsenal etc)

The Worst League in the World: A sign up for the Indonesian Third Division

Seperately, I'm also thinking of doing a weekly prediction league sign up with a twist: you predict the outcome of games from a randomly selected leagues in FM and its real-life counterparts. This would be able to run all year round, using league like Russia, Sweden, Ireland etc.

Any feedback and suggestions on these ideas would be much appreciated!

I successfuly finished the San Marino challenge and now I'm looking for a new one. My suggestion is, that a challenge is based around being only a B Team manager of any of the teams in the Second Division B of Spain.

I'm through one season with Athletic Club in Spain and have all the spanish leagues loaded. I noticed that their 'B Team' is called Bilbao Athletic and:

- has a completely seperate manager;
- are able to sign their own players;
- are currently in Secunda B1; and
- can be controlled by human managers.

The aim is to take your B Team to either a cup win or to the highest they can be placed (that will be no higher than champion of the league below your parent club)

This could be a relatively short challenge, or a really long and frustrating one, I'd guess it would depend on how the manager of the 'A Team' treats you, and whether he provides you with any promising youngsters or whether he releases staff above your head.

If this has been suggested before, then i apologise- i did do a quick search but drew a blank. If this gets a positive response then I may post a proper challenge in the forum.

This way, you do not need to discard any letters before-hand and can just rely on the luck of the draw to select the 16 letters (or 15 distinct letters and 1 rare letters group) that will feature in the game proper.

I've had a pretty epic idea guys. It will obviously take an enormous amount of work, as much by me as the rest of the CSE community but here it is anyway:

The idea would be to start a thread offering any CSE challenge participant to upload their save game of their most successful team (ie. teams that have completed challenges, like dafuge's challenge etc).

From these saved files (limited to say 20 teams) I would then go into the editor and create my own database - mimicking every player, staff, club info, stats, everything from their team and copy it over to the new database. By the end of what I imagine would be a hell of a lot of editing, I'd have one almighty database containing 20 of the most successful CSE teams. I would then put them into one division on the game (like the Dutch as an eg).

Then I would simulate the seasons to see how these teams fared against each other. I'm unsure what the best thing would be to do for managers - perhaps give each user an opportunity to create their own manager for their side? The other idea I have is depending on time and availability of users I would run it as a sign up whereby each game week, the users in the CSE community would PM me with their tactics, selection and substitution plans etc. I'd then run the game and report the results for a whole season.

What does everyone think? Do you even think its possible??

I don't know what made me think of this, but this idea was posted by iacovone a couple of pages ago. At the time, it recieved alot of positive feedback, but there hasn't been anything else about it since. My question is, would anyone still be interested in it? Because, with iacovone's permission of course, I wouldn't mind using this idea.

Wherby, I would upload save games of teams in certain scenarios. Eg. save from relegation or crippling debt etc.

they're not really, most of the ones I saw were fairly unrealistic scenarios. Not like the classic 'you have 4 games to save a team from relegation' or 'you have 6 games to rescue a Champions League spot for so and so' etc.

, I managed to make decent teams with every letter except O,Q,U,W,X,Y, Z
which I was pretty surpirsed with.

So I'll think I'll take out the weakest three teams, and when it comes to draw time, the person who has the missfits, will get drawn 5 out of the 10 letters.

Here's an idea I had a while ago that still hasn't been used:

Sign-Up Idea

This is one that I've been wanting to do, but just couldn't because I've always had a game on the go.

It's based on the Murder Mystery Party idea. The setup is based on the usual sign ups, where every player chooses positions, attributes etc. but the creator comes up with a list of distinct personalities for the players, which are assigned via e-mail. These could based on things like 'thinks he is far too good for the team' to 'is having an affair with the GK's wife'. It would be up to the people taking part to drop subtle enough hints throughout the thread so that others could guess which personality belongs to them. Obviously the list (or a brief rundown of them) would need to be posted at the start, so that people could try to guess which people have which people have which personalities. The winner could be the first person to e-mail the creator with the correct list, with a maximum of say three guesses.

I think this could create an incredibly interesting thread to read and it could encourage people to be a lot more creative with what they contribute to the sign-up threads. It could create far more of a story, rather than just an update on a team, with far more people contributing to the thread.

It would require a lot of work, creativity and imagination, along with a group of people willing to put a fair bit of effort in. It could be great, then again it could be awful.

Gready Chip Butty - I was thinking of one where all of the English players play in the area in which they were born.

i.e. Gareth Barry was born in Hastings. So therefore would join Kent.
Wayne Rooney was borin in Liverpool. So therefore would join Merseyside FC or something. A bit like an idea thats running at the moments (The IPL) except it's less dream team and more factual.

It's hard not to! I'm brainstorming some ideas, and maybe making the Canadian national team the best in the world.

I'm playing a career game with Canada atm, and I'm 40th in the latest world rankings! (IRL we are 90 something)

And some other ideas as well. Maybe a fictional league...db with fake players...just blurting out ideas.

Another idea for people struggling for an idea is to go back through the pages of the idea's thread. There are a stack of great idea's in here that have either never been utilised or not done properly. I know if I am ever stuck for an idea for a sign-up, I'll always go back through the opening pages of this thread where there reallly are a few crackers.Just remember to ask the person who originally came up with the idea.

One idea that I have liked is having forumers create a Brazilian player to go into the Brazilian lower leagues. I would do my best to get one from each position so we could effectively have a team. From there, I would follow the progress to a few World Cups time, where they would hopefully all be in the team to compete in it.

if you have a relatively good understanding of the Brazilian leagues, go for it. If you don't, then I really really wouldn't recommend running it in a league that you aren't familiar with.
