Of course I am, megaupload seems like a pretty good site.

Ok roberto.
You do have the db right? Think filefront might have deleted it...
No sorry, I had a major clearout a while back and deleted it for some reason
The Mole was very good and I enjoyed it until the mole got himseld banned
FM Survivor was also excellent and would love to see repeats of these.
One day it will get past 2 seasons![]()
If anyone's looking for an idea, there's something that you never see in a sign up. The vast majority are of the 'create a young superstar' ilk. What about 'create a veteran'?
Maybe they all start at 31/32-ish (maybe older for defenders/goalkeepers). It might be interesting to see if there's any key to increasing the longevity of their careers. You could also allow them to have staff attributes - you could then also follow their non-playing careers once they retire.
I'm sure theres a lot can be done with it....just throwing it out there.
I like that idea Bermy. Definetly a change on most sign-up's we see!
I am pretty sure someone did sign-up like that, but it got abandoned. Still a very good idea, mainly to see the progress when they become staff, as presumable their staff PA and CA will be random. Not sure if it is linked with the players CA/PA.
I also seem to remember someone tried something like this but it failed, so it would be nice to see to it return as it would be interesting to see how high a player could get at the age of 32
Yeah Pauls got it, they'll be shorter though this time to ensure that as many as possible finish the challenges.
What was Wislas?
Just finished editing a database for a Glenn Hoddle Academy challenge, in which you start in the lowest Spanish league and can only sign out of contract players under the age of 21.
Will play a test game for a season or two to make sure I haven't messed anything up whilst editing it, just wanted to gauge how much interest there would be in it before I divert my attention from my main save![]()
Saint, its only been a few hours, give it more time, this thread isn't checked all day every day
An idea for a sign-up, either for me or someone else to run:
The Evil Twin sign-up!
As in so many of these sign-ups, you create a person to play in the game. But into the game is *also* added his evil twin. The evil twin has:
(a) The same nationalities as his brother
(b) A relationship with his brother either of mutual love or mutual hatred - open to suggestions on this
(c) The same position(s) as his brother
(d) The same chosen attributes as his brother, but inverted. If the first player has an attribute of x, the twin has an attribute of 21-x
(e) The same CA and PA as his brother
Ideas for how to flesh this out will be welcomed.
I think that they would have to have a dislikingfor each other but I don't know much else.
My San Marino sign-up is planning on going into their managerial careers as I gave everyone 20 for managers.![]()
It is interesting and is worth posting in a thread to gauge interest in, as it is only the regular, reliable users who reguallarly post in here and they are generally, involved heavily with their sign-ups and challenges.
It definately does sound intersting though so make a well-constructed opening post with the rules etc. and it may well, take off.![]()

You're right enough actually, seem to recall that. No-one seems to be going for the idea anyway...would be a change though.
Don't remember it. Come to think of it though, the Disharmony experiment I started and never finshed featured older players, might be that.
My latest idea. Oh no, I hear you yell, but this is for a challenge. You take charge of a club that is playing Champions league or UEFA cup football. You then have to sell all your over 23 players apart from 2. You can only sign players 19 or under. What do you think?
whats the point? whats the challenge?
Well you have to maintain your status
it's a pretty lacklustre idea that evidently does not seem to have been given a lot of thought. When initially designing a Challenge you should think of things like - Has it been done before? What is my target audience? If I saw that idea, would I think, wow I want to do that challenge? It's just a boring idea imo
I would like to do or play a new challenge. Can anyone help me do it
with that challenge it would be impossible as you wouldnt be able to sell every player
Yes, I would be more than willing to help as would most of us but we need a bit more information.
Do you want to run your own challenge?
If so, do you want help?
I would be willing to help.
Do you want a challenge to play?
Well, there are plenty of excellent challenges out there but do you have any specific criteria.
Countries?
Any problem with your computer running multiple leagues?
I would like to do my own challenge.
My computer can run multiple leagues fine. I would like my challenge to last for a few years. e.g getting a club from BSP to Premiership, that kind of time frame. Can someone PM me or post here if they have any ideas that can help me
you shouldnt start challenges for the sake of starting them and seeing your name on the thread title if you like getting clubs up the league try dafuges challenge
How about this, the free agents bsp to the EPL challenge. On tools in the editor you can free all players so you do that and take charge of a bsp club. You must sign all of your players that are English. And you must only sign five over 23 players. What do you think?
Why BSP? It would be traditional to start at BSP/BSN level.
So you can get some players of a decent standard
That's not needed. Even BSS/BSN can get some very good players for free. I've signed players atleast League 2 standard and even League 1 with BSN/BSP teams![]()
Well, I've done thread now. Anyone fancy starting it?
FGS, a while ago it was verging on spam, now you're just cluttering up the forums like a spambot m123.
Not going to start anything else for next two months. Do you think I can do it
Nope .
Well I am. I have a challenge, sign up and story to work on
If you finish all three, to a good standard in the next two months, then I will happily accept you as a CSEer.
Go for it![]()
MY IDEA - 'THE GANG OF FOUR' CHALLENGE
Start a game in England using all four leagues - it's up to you whether you use the Blue Square leagues but it doesn't matter either way. Choose one team from each league - no stipulations. For example, I would start with Manchester City, Sheffield United, Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United.
Set up four managers and set them to manage the four chosen teams. The manager reputations must be: Sunday League Footballer for the League 2 manager; Part Time Footballer for the League 1 manager; Professional footballer for the Championship manager; International footballer for the Premiership manager.
THE AIM
Manage each of the 'Gang of Four' through ten seasons. The aim is simple: achieve as much success as possible with all four clubs. How you choose to do this is up to you. You can arrange friendlies, 'throw' cup/league matches, loan players, buy players 'on the cheap' or by 'paying over the odds', praising each other and each other's players etc ... In doing so, score as many points as you can in ten seasons (see scoring information below) and I will set up a leaderboard of the best scorers.
SCORING
Starting Premiership team
- Winning the Premiership title: 10 points
- Winning the FA Cup: 5 points
- Winning the League Cup: 5 points
- Winning the UEFA Cup/Europe League: 5 points
- Winning the Champions League: 20 points
Starting Championship team
- Promotion to the Premiership: 10 points
- Winning the Premiership title: 20 points
- Winning the FA Cup: 10 points
- Winning the League Cup: 10 points
- Winning the UEFA Cup/Europe League: 10 points
- Winning the Champions League: 30 points
Starting League 1 team
- Promotion to the Championship: 10 points
- Promotion to the Premiership: 20 points
- Winning the Premiership title: 30 points
- Winning the FA Cup: 15 points
- Winning the League Cup: 15 points
- Winning the UEFA Cup/Europe League: 15 points
- Winning the Champions League: 40 points
Starting League 2 team
- Promotion to League 1: 10 points
- Promotion to the Championship: 20 points
- Promotion to the Premiership: 30 points
- Winning the Premiership title: 40 points
- Winning the FA Cup: 20 points
- Winning the League Cup: 20 points
- Winning the UEFA Cup/Europe League: 20 points
- Winning the Champions League: 50 points
ADVICE NEEDED
- What do you think of the idea? Yay or Nay?
- What rules would you suggest I set?
- Are the points suitable? What changes could I make? Any others I could add without overcomplicating it?
Would appreciate any advice from the more experienced CSE'ers in here. This would be my first challenge idea, despite participation in some and viewing others, so I could do with the advice at the moment.
Thanks in advance chaps! (And chapettes if there are any!)
I think it's quite a good idea, could take a while to complete though, maybe set the challenge to 5 years?
Cheers for the advice mate, that was quick!
Noted. I see what you mean but five years would not be long enough to go for the holy grail of Champions League victory with your League 2 team.
Season 1: Promotion to League 1
Season 2: Promotion to Championship
Season 3: Promotion to Premiership
Season 4: Qualification for Champions League
Season 5: Champions League winners!
So should I consider using five years and maybe making the Champions League win worth more points, particularly for the CCC/L1/L2 teams?
Oh yeah, I never thought of that. Anyway good luck
well it could be a case of people signing off cheap players e.g. if you were city you could sell cheap reserve team players to the league 2 or league 1 team or easily loan out players
Correct. That would be one of the links they could make.
The clubs would be working together to achieve success. The more success, the more points. It might make it easy at first to achieve success at League 2 and League 1 levels but eventually you'd have to make a choice on which team you were going to go with to get you the points. Is it worth trying to win the Champions League with City or go for the Promotions of the others?
I'm pretty sure canvey!! has mentioned that there will The Apprentice will be returning at some point. That may just be specualtion though.
Edit: sorry didn't realise there was a new page.
G'day All.
After much waiting, pondering, finger-crossing, IT technician calling, I'm pleased to announce that the premiership predictions league will be starting from this Thursday afternoon (My time). It was supposed to start about 3 weeks ago, But I was unable to due to my computer going bang. But It's all fixed now, and will be the base of the Premiership Predictions League come Thursday.
I am considering whether to do it like a normal Predictions competition with just the scores of the EPL being guessed and nothing else happening apart from EPL action, Or make it a little more 'new-age' and adding things in such as a weekly bonus question, Champions League ties and other random point scoring questions. The only problem with that is, That there could be weeks were points are worth more than others and it will give an advantage to players who put in their predictions one week and pick up a stack of bonus points, to those (Such as Canvey!! in last seasons version) who participate ever week, but may not do so well as far as bonus questions. Thoughts???
Another thing is, That To make up a bit of time, I am thinking of for say the opening 5 rounds, putting two weeks of predictions in so that we can get through the hardest part (The start) a little quicker. Once again, thoughts???
Can't wait to start come Thursday, Pluckaduck.
Count me in. Great idea.
Hey Pluck, how about including another big league, eg Italy, Portugal or Spain. Just might add a little bit extra to it allAnd as for the bonuses I love that Idea as well
![]()
Nice to add some sort of bonuses in Pluckaduck, you could do the team and player stats, for example 'who is the current top scorer'
Count me in to the overall game, i did it last year but finished 7th or something so i'm ready to win this time![]()
Love the Idea. Count me in as well pluckaduck.
I'd personally say no to the idea of bonuses. Keep it nice and simple and cut down on the work for everyone.
Has there been a "Restore a Fallen Giant" challenge? I.e. taking a team that has fallen down the pyramid (like Fortuna Dusseldorf, Leeds, Nottingham Forest) and returning them to their former glories?
Hmmm, I have a bit of a decision on my hands. But something you guys could probably give me a better idea of, is that would you mind if for the opening five week's, I played two rounds at a time? I'm sure it would be alright with everyone, But it's better to make sure first before going ahead.
Otherwise, Happy FMing everyone!!!
Can't wait for your prediction league to start, PluckaDuck! Good to hear your pc is all fixed up now.![]()
I surely wouldn't mind two rounds at a time for the beginning PluckaDuck, how come you want to do that?
Also because I don't want to run too far into FM10 and by doing this, It will cut off 5 weeks of that time.Another thing is, That To make up a bit of time, I am thinking of for say the opening 5 rounds, putting two weeks of predictions in so that we can get through the hardest part (The start) a little quicker.
Great idea Pluck![]()
Oh sorry, had forgotten you already posted that, I think it is a great idea.
Has there ever been an experiment to compare the strengths of the game's default tactics?
For example, all EPL teams and players set to be equal, each one set to use one of the game's default tactics and see if a particular one is more successful in the ME?
I don't believe that has been done, and it would be interesting to see, and I would predict that different tactics would do well against other tactics not necessarily one that "fits" the match engine
Seems a good idea. I haven't started a sign up in ages.
And hopefully it'll stay that way for a month or two
I am going to fight the temptation. Maybe next week..... Only joking.
What rep do you think I would need for a created team that has no players, created staff with 20s in specialist areas, starting in one of BSP/BSS/BSN and can only use players that come through the youth team?
Ermmmm... 3000ish
2000-2500 for BSN/BSS
2501-3000 for BSP
This is just an idea, I won't be doing yet
Replace the A league with teams that you make up. You then have an auction for players. Categories-Legends (Cantona, George Best etc), Current stars (Messi, Ronaldo etc), Young Brazil starts (Marquinhos, Carioca etc), young stars(Kadlec, Anier etc) and a few more categories. You then bid for packages that include attendance figures, stadium size, training facilities etc. I want your opinion
Have you considered how you'll get the attributes for the legends? That'd take a lot of work.
I imagine that would take one hell of a lot of research and editor work.
It would take a lot of work but I would manage. What age would I make the legends?
Of course you would, you're known for your commitment.
your choice.
What age would the legends be also what PA and CA? Obviously Zidane would have 20 for Butt de Head.
Like I said your choice.
Anyone else have an idea of CA or PA?
Does anyone else think there would be interest in the default tactics experiment?

If that was aimed at my idea, it's a sign up
Would anyone join my sign up?
Not now sorry
OK mate, anyone if so I will do it.
I would if you do it in two months after you have proved your commitment by finishing your story, sign-up and challenge.
Challenge far too easy- Story going well- Sign up nobody bothered about it.
So would you join it now after those reasons.
no because nobody is bothered in your sign up as you put no effort in your updates
I second Mikey.
Complete Dafuge's challenge before I do(if I do) (I only started two days ago) and I will happily take part.
Your story has improved after you took some advice on and it is going well.
You sign-up's updates improved slightly from your first few attempts but I still agree with mikey and they were not of a high enough standard, plus people didn't bother about it because they thought that you were just going to quit again after a few matches because of what you did with your other sign-ups.
I won't quit this one. It's called eBay the sign up. Story gave me a last chance and look it's quite good. Please give me one last chance guys
thought you said last time that was your last chance
Sorry but this one will work, give me a chance, please
I'm a pretty patient person and I'm more than willing to give you chances, but there has to be a time where you settle down and stick to a sign up.
You currently have one active thread which people have signed up to, personally I think you are better off concentrating on that thread and learning what sort of things appeal to people in terms of updates before starting something new.
