I'm struggling with the dwarf Sneezy. Any ideas what his personality stats should be like? I'm thinking about making him well meaning but a bit stupid (ie not controversial but not adaptable/good at making decisions. Thoughts?
Hmmm He would be a difficult one Sneezy, But I agree bad decisions/Timing would have to be in there somewhere!
Yet, he should be consistent, as you can always count on him to sneeze![]()
You could make his injury proneness to the maximum allowed...hence him sneezing and falling ill a lot...
With Sleepy you can make his natural fitness at like under 5 or sumthing
Dopey, probably low ambition and intelligence, or no creativity, or error prone
Doc, you can have good fitness, and good stamina, no injuries
Happy, obviously good temperament, and personality,
Bashful, you can have low temperament, and low sportsmanship
Grumpy would be low professionalism, and high agression
Hope that suggestion helps![]()
And we're underway, cheers guys
I was thinking to myself the other day that there isn't enough manager sign-ups, and by this I mean where a manager is put into the game in an unedited database. Would there be an interest in this?
i too was thinking of doing a managers sign up
i would be interested and im sure a lot of others would be too
Guys a lot of the dwarfs don't get picked up on frees and are retiring. I need a way to change this otherwise the experiment can't get underway!
Any ideas appreciated
I'm thinking either reputation increase of the players or starting everyone at a club. If I take that option who should it be?
I'm also thinking possibly putting one dwarf at a different club in the Blue Square Prem. Plus having the Queen and Snow White at different BSP clubs. Thoughts?

You could try using FMRTE to temporarily increase their reputations to a level which will get them picked up. Something like 250 to 300 (if it is out of 1000, can't remember off the top of my head) should be enough, then reduce it back to its original value.
Randomly select teams in BSS for them to be on already, this way they have a team and will undoubtedly picked up quickly.
Ok I'm putting The Queen at Salisbury and Snow White at Eastbourne (the 2 lowest rep clubs in BSP)
The 7 dwarfs are going to Lewes, Altrincham, Barrow, Kettering, Histon, Weymouth, Grays. Everyone head to the OP of the thread for details of where they all have gone. Then away we go for real this time!
Ive been thinking of an idea for an AI experiment for a while now and since 9.3 has been released i think i should do it now. The idea is to use the malaysian league because it dosent allow foreigners and to have a league of all the national teams
There is already a database in the editors forum that is similar, but I am sure that whoever created it would let youn use it. I think it is a very good idea to put the top national sides against one another in a league format![]()
didnt realise their was one their. I will probably make my own database though as that won't be done on 9.3 and i want as realistic player stats as possible
Would people be interested in a international challenge where you could only choose players playing in the actual country? For example if you choose Brazil, you would only be able to call up players playing in Brazil, meaning no Kaka, Pato, Julio Cesar, etc. In my opinion it would be interesting since people would learn about lesser known players who are actually pretty good. And I'd probably also have it so you could choose any team, but of course South American teams would be more interesting since a lot of players move abroad.
I really like that idea
Good one simao![]()
An Idea:::
How The Mighty Has Fallen
Huddersfield Town Athletic Football Club, with most of their success coming in the 1920's have been a
regular League 1 team for a couple of seasons now and with new manager Lee Clark wanting the team
to become a premiership side, Lee knew he had to get quality players but were could he find these
players from??
The Answer
Jimmy Riddle, an amazing tycoon from England realised this and being a massive fan of HTAFC decided
to buy HTAFC. He upgraded the Youth Facilities only as he realised the future of the club is kids (aged
18). But these kids weren't all from the same country making it difficult for them to communicate with
each other. The Youth Academy brought in 16 kids in varying positions but each kid could only play in 1
position.

Good idea Jimmy
I have the idea that say 20 people would create a team themself with the rep of 3000 and start in bsp and the first one to get to EPL would win it's a challenge/sign up. What would be a good transfer budget to set for the teams?
nothing too big but perharps set a future fee, so they can at least survive
would you do it
do the sign-up?? i probably would as it is a decent idea
well I would be able to superleague aswell because I won't have to do anywork on the create a club sign up. It would rely on the people doing the sign up to post screenies etc
i mean i would run it, if you wanted me to
my computer crashed so the db's went off itso i am not running 1 at the mo
shall we do it as joint thing. Then I can concentrate on superleague as well jimmy. PM with ideas mate
yeah yeah might as well
Ok I'll start thread in abit mate
do u want to tell me some ideas
i have PM'ed you![]()
Ridleys does something very similar to this last year which I took over a ran till 2020 and only 1 team had reached League 1 and most were still stuck in the BSS and BSN or had been relegated to non-playable leagues, so be aware that it can take a long time for clubs to get to premier league level
We have given the clubs ok budgets tho
We started the balance at 1 million do not know how much yours is but i suggest improving on that slightly. I will be following how it goes, you will probably get more seasons done if two of you are running it, good luck![]()
I have an interesting idea for a challenge where your goal is to sign all the players that you find by typing in the search box: faceinthegame, and then attempt to win the Champions League with those players.
Just an idea that popped in my head.![]()
Why doesnt someone create an international superleague
rancer: isn't that the one with all the SI employees
kashmirshazad: There is already one in the editors hideaway Click here
My sign-up
Just to say, my sign-up is now open.
Just though of it on the spot and started it, so I would like it if some regular members signed-up as they can be relied on.
Might well get some SI employees following it, seeing how they get on![]()
it could be really hard because most of them don't exactly turn out amazing
Olly Kenney \o/ What a legend for the Softies, in his one and a bit seasons there on loan.
I suppose if you can't win you'd have to start again as they'd retire!
Are they all related to SI in some way the ones that appear when you type it? I'm sure Ter said something about them not all being there or something.
There have been a huge number of sign-ups started recently.
I think that it would be very hard, as they all have random PA's don't they?
i remember typing it in at about 2013 and there were quite young regens there
one was brazilian and quite good so maybe you would just have to wait until good ones pop up
Yes, I know that you don't have to sign all of them
I think that it would be down to luck if you got any good ones.
Still that's what makes a good challenge, being difficult.
My experiment
I am going to start an experiment, much like one person did last year.
I can't find their thread which would help
You start with a team in the BSN/BSS.
And, I can't spend any money and I see how far good training and youth facilities can get you.
BTW, I will holiday the seasons.
that was me. said thread.
Thanks Paul,
But I don't think that I am going to do it because I don't have FMRTE or Genie Scout.
I tried to download them for other experiments but they won't work.
How come it ended Paul?
The same reason the majority of all of my other sign-ups/experiments/stories have ended. Lost interest & Motivation. Shame really because they've all been pretty good in principle.
I've never done a sign up before and have had an idea but wanted some advise.
How much time does it take to to the write ups and information, I want a lot of information to feed back to those doing it and also those viewing the thread, would an hour a day cut it?
Anyway onto the idea.
Father and Son Premier League.
The sign up will be for 20 people all taking one of the Premiership clubs. The singupee will the be 'Father' and manager with the usual three managerial styles etc...
The son would be a 16 year old at the club, with both each others favoured personal (i.e. Brian and Nigel Clough etc...)
All stats would be randomised out of 20 meaning some will be good some bad, some might have great stats for some skills, but terrible stats completing them.
So not only is it the fortunes of the managers career but also the sons, how good can he get, will he be carted off by his dad?
Also what is a good CA and PA for the 'sons'.
Thanks
Oh yeah and anyone know a good free image hosting sight?
You could probably do it on about an hour a day. YOu might not manage to post every single day doing it, but it should be fine.
Imageshack and photobucket are good image hosting sites.
how many sign-ups are you allowed to have
There's no limit or ban but you don't want to do any more than two really if you want to keep your people intrersted.
Best bet is to post this in the Ideas thread where people will give you feedback on your idea
its not advisable to have more than one sign up as they can take a while to update especially if your doing it properly with screen shots and everything.
These sort of questions should be asked in the ideas thread
This should be helpful.
History
James James and John Smith have been great freinds and great enemies since primary school all the way
through to University. After University they both became very succesful and very rich and with this they
both created an English football club. James James called him James United Football Club and John
Smith called his John City Football Club. James' club was based in Manchester and Smith's is based in
London. These two freinds has a bet to see who would win the English Premier Division and Champions
League first.
They both built a 10,000 seater stadium with an expansion to make them 100,000 seaters, JUFC have
20 Youth Facilities and 10 training Facilities while JCFC have 20 training facilities and 10 Youth Facilities
There will be 19 players that can sign-up for each team and 1 manager for each.
JUFC players will have 200 attribute points to put into any attributes they wish and a -10 PA
JCFC players will have 220 attribute points to put into any attributes they wish and a -9 PA
INJURY PRONESS ISN'T ALLOWED!
The Managers get 250 to spend on any attribute and a CA and PA of 175
James James.
I once had a staff member called Robert Robert.![]()
1 sign-up per person is good otherwise, it would be too much work unless, you are unemployed etc.
Some people have 4 signups etc going at the moment that they have just started.
Ah, just noticed that Dafuge has closed some
Well done daf
ueah you should only start a second once your first has been running for a few months
Does anyone else think that the CSE forum is getting too clogged up. A few people running too many sign-ups at once, and they are pretty much the same idea, just different names...!
And some of the vocabulary that they use is shocking.
Rant over.
It is being discussed in the social group![]()
Had a look around the forum and didnt see this challenge being suggested so here it goes,
Be the first manager in god knows how long, to win the English premiership, fa cup and league cup using only English players!
Picking a team in the top four or Man City is obviously going to be easier so pick a mid table team or even a championship team if you fancy a real challenge.
When you complete this, quit your post immediatley and jump ship to another country and do the same.
I watched Mike Bassett - England Manager on DVD last night. Anyone else seen it? I was thinking of doing some kind of experiment with all the characters from there, and giving progress reports just like the Snow White and the 7 dwarves experiment.
I think the other one with Mike Bassett would be better, the club one
I remember the club series with Mike Bassett, but not as many characters I can remember from there? How can we edit Bassett? Obviously he has alot of people in his favoured personnel and his tactis are 4-4-2.
I've had a pretty epic idea guys. It will obviously take an enormous amount of work, as much by me as the rest of the CSE community but here it is anyway:
The idea would be to start a thread offering any CSE challenge participant to upload their save game of their most successful team (ie. teams that have completed challenges, like dafuge's challenge etc).
From these saved files (limited to say 20 teams) I would then go into the editor and create my own database - mimicking every player, staff, club info, stats, everything from their team and copy it over to the new database. By the end of what I imagine would be a hell of a lot of editing, I'd have one almighty database containing 20 of the most successful CSE teams. I would then put them into one division on the game (like the Dutch as an eg).
Then I would simulate the seasons to see how these teams fared against each other. I'm unsure what the best thing would be to do for managers - perhaps give each user an opportunity to create their own manager for their side? The other idea I have is depending on time and availability of users I would run it as a sign up whereby each game week, the users in the CSE community would PM me with their tactics, selection and substitution plans etc. I'd then run the game and report the results for a whole season.
What does everyone think? Do you even think its possible??
Get Neps FM 08 Gundos team and we'll have Paul Wallace remade \o/
I think it is a great idea and would really help the forum spirit with a real competitive sign-up
Could also solve the age old mystery of the better player between Danny Roberts and Paul Wallace!
Although Wallace would struggle hugely in a top league, and I doubt dafuge still has his 06 save
Would be sick to include my FM08 Rizhiquan save, although I think Liu Lijia and Zhu Jinhui would have no chance...but there is hope with my Real Oviedo team.
And for the managers, I think you can use fmrte to see their stats...
Although I would not want a manager signup, most of us are busy with exam time not too far away.![]()
iacovone - that's a pretty ambitious idea. Would be interesting alright. Just a shame the game doesn't itself allow you to do it - one for future versions maybe.
Would be interesting to pitch the final Wallace and Roberts teams from the 2008 thread against each other - both European Cup winners and both pretty awesome sides.

I still have the save files for the Monkeys, so it would be possible if anybody was to attempt to do it.
That idea sound immense, although it would involve a huge amount of work.
Bit of a shame I don't have my FM06 save with Danny Roberts in his prime, I'm still convinced he was the greatest player I've ever seen in CM/FM. The fact he was more successful under the AI (with England) than with me suggests he could have scored even more goals had my tactics been better.
Love to see how Tonka would fair.![]()
I have this idea that I create two teams and place them in BSN. People will sign up as players for the team and they will all be 17. But I am going to call the teams Football Manager FC and Football Manager Live FC and it is a race to the EPL. I would give them equal budget, stadium capacity etc so it would be fair. What do you think?
It's a pretty worn out concept if you ask me.
would depend entirely on whether or not you'd have the commitment to continue the idea through. Of course it's very easy for you to reply to this and say 'yeah I definitely would' but you have to actually think about whether or not you would, because that kind of sign up would be a big commitment as it would take 15/20 seasons for the team to get to the EPL imo
I would put the attributes high and ambition low so players would stay at club longer. Can't I do this sign up as well as my other one?
Not fair!!!!!lol
Heres the toy you chucked out your pram.
Haha, I just wanted to de my sign up!!!!!!!!!!!
And you can, after you finish/stop your other sign up, go for quality rather than quantity, it's hard to manage two sign-ups unless you give up alot of time
Exactly what the others have said. Having a quality 1st sign-up is much more effective than starting of with two at once but maintaining next to no quality control!
Thanks for advice and I suppose it's best just to concentrate on one sign up
Can anyone in here tell me if it is necessary (or perhaps better) to run a holiday game on full detail when running a test to study player development? Or will the players develop in the same way on minimum detail level?
Thanks,
C.
I would run it in full detail just in case. I think you get a more realistic development overall if you do so. But that is just my oinion and I don't know exactly if player development is affected by it or not.
My Latest Idea :
I'm going to create a new team. "Real London CSE"
The team will have a stadium thats quite small, also somehow linked to the forums and forumites.
Staff for the club will be forumites names, and the team will be put in the BSS / BSN with 20 players that are all names of Forumites that frequent CSE.
Then, Put the game up for download, start a new thread, and people can track the progress in the same manner of Dafuges / Gundo's Challenge, trying to get Real London CSE to the Prem.
Whaddayathink?
Great idea Nep.
Now what position should I be...![]()
Sounds great. I'll be the determined, strong DC/DM/MC/AMC/ST!![]()
