Coach / Scout Reports

Should I trust scout reports of players and the star rating which they give the players or should I just look at the players attributes myself?

Both, compare them. If they player plays well but isn't rated by your coaches then who cares. I had a player that was rated so highly, up to one of the best at the club, yet played terrible. He had average ratings of 5.5-6.5, I'm not sure why, he had all the stats besides jumping, but just failed at defending.

I'd go for a bit of both. The attributes are the most important thing but the stars will give you a good idea if he's likely to improve.

The stars are not 100% accurate. They depend on the attributes of the coach/scout and they are also just opinions from the staff, rather than just a report on the actual ability/potential of a player.

Exactly. For older players it is less important as what you see is what you get, but they are essential if you are looking for a player who will improve as he gets older.

You could remove the stars columns from the player search/shortlist screens but you will still see them when you look at the scout reports.
