Default 3D match engine getting stuck

Basically the 3D match engine gets stuck, causing the program to 'not respond' and sometimes gets the whole of my computer stuck.

It doesn't get stuck for too long, varies between 10 seconds and a couple of minutes, but can happen up to 7 or 8 times a game, meaning that I have to play in 2D mode, or can't watch the games at all, which is frustrating.

Have had a look round a few threads, a couple of which said that I should update my graphics drivers. I did that, but the game is still sticking.

    Any help is appreciated

Not able to help you, but i've noticed the same, several times.

It hasn't been so extreme that the entire computer gets stuck, or that many times in one game. But the players can be running on the spot for a long long time. Last time i had it, today, i just moved the mouse and it was ok.
Most of the times that doesn't help at all. I just have to wait.

This happens to me once every few matches. Why do they keep running on the spot?

Think they've watched too much 3rd eye and the Adebayor workout before kickoff clip
