12 games into my second season in charge of Guiseley and we're sat proudly atop the Blue Sqaure North, 5 points clear having lost just one game.
AFC Wimbledon (temporary) in a playoff spot
New signings Simon Dawkins has 2 goals in 3 games and Maxi Gradel has 1 goal and 2 assists in 3 games, along with a couple of man of the match awards![]()
I've managed to get my game onto my old computer so I will get to carry on my AFC Wimbledon save
It's got 512mb of ram
![]()
Congratz roberto
My backup computer has 1 gb ram, and i cleared everything (except fm) to play at the highest speed possible
![]()
I'm thinking of maybe a Montserrat invasion at AFC Wimbledon![]()
Why does the ref always have to give my opponent a penalty every game![]()
just started this challenge yesterday with AFC Wimbledon. Will post some more when I get home from work today
Got linked with Arsenal as a parent club so off to a great start in that regard!!!![]()
Good luck with them
Aw you are lucky. I have Spurs as Parent Club![]()
This is getting annoying. Another penalty against us![]()
I wouldn't complain about having a Premiership parent club - I got Leeds as mine and they were still stuck in League 1 for the first season.
The refs really are against you! We still continue to concede silly goals, it's like my players don't think they're in a game until the opposition have scored.
Still, considering the success roberto has with Arsenal as parent club makes me a bit jealous
5 games and counting on penalties against us...I also had 3 media interactions about penalties not called against us. I refuse to comment as the FA always win and I'm always wrong(honesty we should be allowed to complain against the FA about poor refereeing, and the FA actually doing something about it)
Very true, I'm a bit jealous myself, would have loved to get one of the big teams as a parent but our location just didn't allow it.
I stopped complaining to the FA a long time ago as I don't think I've ever once been right. It's easier in the long run as it doesn't land you with any touchline bans.
Rui FOnteAh the memories... I'm going into my first season without any Arsenal players on loan now
![]()
So far I managed to get promoted first season with Chippenham through the playoffs - now it is mid season and I'm 9th in the BSP - although I'm on an amazing run and could sneak into the playoofs at this rate - I managed to get Bristol City as a parent club at the start of my second season and I've loaned 5 players from them - including Lee Trundle who is getting the fans in - this challenge is top stuff - well done Dafuge and good luck to everyone on it!!!
Can't complain in the Championship, I've just signed Pedro after a short loan![]()
It's simply too slow on my computer atm, I'll try it again tomorrow when I'm less tired and more patient, plus I have to figure out how to get the patch as Lucy is obsessive about keeping viruses off her laptop![]()
Marine Update Season 2009/10 BSP
Not mch to say really, media said I was to finish 21st, wasn't a bad guess reallys I finished 17th. Let in to many goals and didn't score enoughthere is no point even talking about the cups as I only won one game in all comps combined!
For next season I am looking to sign some experince as my average age was only 20. Have already signed Phil Jevons and am looking at signing a new back 4 as well as a gk.
For all the people whose teams keep getting pens against them, when I was in BSN my team gave away loads of pens, but after promotion I hardly gave away any. Think the refs are just crap in BSN/S
roberto: good luck getting FM to work on your computer. I have a backup computer to play FM just in case
darren: ah that sucks. Maybe loan some players from your parent club and look through the player search to see who you can find on trial. Sold over US$100k of trial players in my tenure so far, all but one who never played a league game for us![]()
Finally a news item about a team denied a penalty against us![]()
Not a bad squad you got there. Better than when I startedYou should destroy BSS
You're playing in US Dollars right?![]()
oh yeah I'm in $, I forgot![]()
At least I'm not the only one here playing in US Dollars![]()
The commentary in my latest game even agreed with me that they should have been a penalty in my last game against Halifax
Commentary:
"Was it a penalty?", "It looked like one!"
mdbussen - Well done, you've got off to a great start. I wish that my first season had started that well. Fingers crossed that you're able to keep that form up for the entire season.
Hahah the curse of sasha opinel - Possibly the worst signing i have ever made, he gets red, after red, after red, and may occasionally score the odd own goal every other match if he isnt banned![]()
I don't get him at all, he looks like he should be a decent BSS player, he must have some bad hidden attributes.
Well my Marine game is kind of strange at the moment. At the half way point of the season I am in 8th place, which I am happy about. I've scored 45 goals, however I have only kept 2 cleen sheets and have conceeded(sp?) 40 goalsThis is my last result:
![]()
*conceded* I like spell checking![]()
Yeah just a bit of a shame about the first half!
Ah well, like oyu said, least it was good entertainment for the fans!
I started this challenge quite a while ago but the file went corrupt after the 3rd season. Now I'm going to have another go at it but I can't login on the site as I can't remember the password or the e-mail address I used when I registered, any ideas what I should do? I can't register again either because my FM Forum username has already been used![]()
Ok, I'll try that. How quick should I expect a reply? I'm raring to go![]()
No idea mate, suppose it depends on how often he looks at his email. If I was you i'd just save the screeine of your profile and just get playing. Then post the screenie when you can
You're unlikely to get a reply, Allan is a busy man.
Jon Challinor has been great for my AFC Wimbledon team. Been with me from BSS to L2. You should get him
![]()
Well I've started and uploaded my manager profile, don't know if this will show as I haven't posted a picture on this site before bar that one of my profile last time - that was a long time ago. Here goes.
I took over Hednesford because I did Chippenham last time and I fancied higher rep this time round. Still could have been worse - could have been AFC Wimbledon
EDIT: it worked, three cheers.
Anyway I told the board I would get a top half finish although secretly I'm hoping for promotion. Wish me luck!

Good luck for your game Bulfin, looking forward to seeing your progress.
Does anyone have a 8.0.2 saved game for Team Bath or Swindon Supermarine? Thanks in advance.
Yeah opinel is real crap unfortunately. Looks like he should be better but he has a propensity to pass to the wrong team :P
Lucky for me he is only my backup. Fabian Wilnis is my starting DL. He is also crap but less so. Complains because I only made him vice-captain instead of captain. Should've known better than to have a dutch player on my squad![]()
I trialed him and then cut him because he was injured in the first few days of training!![]()
My saves gone weird, players that have contracts running out on 30.6.2008 haven't been released and I'm on 7th July, I can only think they are on a week to week contract but it says full time in their profile.
I finished my AFC Wimbledon 2011-2012 season at League 2. We did ok, certainly better than the media prediction of 24th
Season update to come.
Any tips for DL in the BSN? I've got 1 at the minute, need a bit of back up tbh.
Billericay update season 3
August
The season began with a change of captain and formation because Hadji was retiring on the 25th of january i decided to give the captain armband to our promicing young right back 21 year old simmon Madden and i decided a switch from our defensive 5-3-2 which we had used in the first two seasons to a more basic 4-4-2 was in order. Our best start to a season to date saw us draw dag and red leaving us still serching for that opening day win. Unlike previous years we didnt with a 2-1 win over crawley coming next and to complete the hatrick of results we lost 1-0 in our first televised match of the season to aldershot who although we didnt know it at the ime would become our key title rivals. We completed the month with 2 wins to leave us in a good position for the rest of the season.
September
We continued our winning run with a 2-1 win over st albans a defeat to halifax followed before we got back to winning ways against oxford. Two draws followed against rochdale and Burton before we again finished the month with 2 wins.
October
October opened with 2 more wins before a boring 0-0 against Forest Green. We didnt take long to get back to winning ways though with Northwhich and grimsby being defeated. Our first cup match followed with the fa cup pitting us against Newport County who would go on that season to win the BSS. With this draw and the fact that it began to look like i was in a playoff battle i decided it would be a great chance to rest players and the one first teamer left in the starting line up harry forrester on loan from aston villa managed to score 2 goals to take us through 2-0.
November
Resting players didnt work though as we were beaten 1-0 by ebbsfleet. The FA cup gave us a tough first round draw with League 1 Port Vale are opponents. A 0-0 draw at there place was followed by a 2-0 home win for us putting us through to the FA cup 2nd round. A 4-1 league win over Cambidge set us in good sted to welcome another league 1 side to the New Lodge.
December
Luton were the opponents this time and we were hoping to make it two years running that we made it to the FA Cup 3rd round. It wasnt to be though as we went out 2-1 in a closeley fought game. Our November league form carried over to December with 2 more wins following before our FA Trophey game against llkeston which our second side managed to win 3-1. A second draw this season against Dag and Red followed in the league efore we played Woking in the Setanta shield 4th round. Unfortunately we lost 2-1 but this allowed me to focus more on the league and our final cup comeptetition.
January
A 2-1 win over Kettering started the new year well before we faced one of our two main title rivals Aldershot. Us Aldershot and Cambridge had pulled quite a big gap over the rest of the league and Cambridge and Aldershot saw this as a chance to take top spot off us. A 2-1 win over Aldershot kept us at the top though and it began to look like they may fall off us., 2 draws in the league for us though kept it very close at the top. We needed a replay to see us through our FA trophey 2nd round match against dag and red before we lost to Weymouth and beat St Albans.
February
Thsi month saw title rivals plummet off the battle at the top towards the scrap for playoff places. For us though the month began well with two wins against woking, one in the league and one in the cup. Two mroe league wins followed though leaving our total for the last 4 games at 9 goals scored 0 conceeded. We were brought down to earth though suffering defeats to Burton and Oxford. BSS Dorchester gave me a chance to test out my reserves as we beat them2-0 in the FA Trophey
March
By the time march started it was clear it was a two horse title race with me and Aldershot going head to head at the top. We began the month with a dissapointing draw at home to 3rd place York, before beating Kidderminster 3-0 and Droylsden 2-0. ebbslfleet were our opponents in the FA Trophey Semi Final a 1-1 draw at there place was followed by a 5-0 win in the league and a 0-0 draw at home in the cup putting us through on away goals. A 2-1 defeat to Grimsby who will be our opponents in the final meant that we wer know level on points at the top. We beat Norwhich 3-1 before losing to ebbsfleet meaning we were know 3 points off the pace
April
2 more wins a draw and a loss meant we went into the final 2 games 1 point from the top. An easy 2-1 win over Salisbury was made even better when it turned out 3rd placed York had beaten 2nd place Aldershot 5-1 leaving us two points clear with a superior goal difference. Our final game of the season wwas against kettering so i took a risk by playing a few of the fringe players to try and avoid us picking up injuries ahead of our trip to wembely. A 0-0 draw for both us and aldershot meant i was league champions. Unfortunately even resting players failed to avoid injuries as outr young influential CM Bayley picked up an injury in training and will be out for a month.
May
The FA Trophey final was opun us and it was the first time Billericay had ever made the final and there first appearence at Wembley.18000 people turned up to watch the final. Going in 2-0 at half time everything looked great until in the second half grimsby got 1 back. A penalty put us 3-1 away before we ourselves gave away a penalty and it was 3-2 with 6 mins remaining. At 90mins it was still 3-2 and there was an audiable groan from the coach of billericay when it was announced there would be 5 minuites of added time. Tankfully the score remained 3-2 and Billericay won there 2nd trophey of the season
Look out for next seasons more detailed EOS updates i will be giving now we are in league football
Congratulations mikey on your league and cup success![]()
Good monthly updates, just a few typos here and there![]()
saorry was typing it at speed just know. Will do more detailed monthly updates including screenshots next season
congrats on the trophy! That ought to quiet the boobirds for half a season![]()
just been offered a job by my favourite team oldham in league 1 with a 6 million transfer budget. Unfortunately i had to tuen it down for my 0 budget
been offered 3 jobs this summer and linked to about 20
AFC Wimbledon 2011-2012 (Coca-Cola League 2)
League 2
Media Prediction: 24th
Finishing Position: 17th
FA Cup: 1st Round (lost to Barnet)
Carling Cup: we enjoyed participating in it at least lol (lost to Cardiff)
Johnstone's Paint Trophy: 2nd Round \o/ (defeated Barnet, lost to Brighton)
The Squad
Squad
It was an ok season for the team. We were contending in February when everything fell apart. Kazenga Lua Lua broke his leg and the season went downhill from there. Not sure if any loan players this year will come back next year. The striker tandom of Dawkins and Young look good for next season (and I hope Olsen will come back next year). Currently shopping Cameron and Black as I look to upgrade my back four (I already signed Darius Charles on a free).
Goalkeepers
Michael Taylor is gone. I tried to sell him but there were no takers. Harvey Scott, and Andrew Armstrong will battle it out to backup Shayne Barlow. I also hope to get another goalkeeper reject in the July transfer window.
Defense
The back 4 most of the season consisted of Paul Black, Gary Elphick, Ajet Shehu, and Tyrone Cameron. However, I hope to sell Black along with Cameron to make way for youngsters Dan Bacon, and James Allen more playing time next year.
Midfield
Starting in my midfield are: Saulo Asajile, Craig Bentham, Jon Challinor, and Maxi Gradel. Overall, I think the midfield looks solid, with some youngsters like Karl Prout, and Yaser Kasim.
Forwards
Only got 3 of them: Simon Dawkins, Jonathon Obika, and Lewis Young. Hope to either get Obika or Olsen next season (or both).

Transfers
Many new players were brought in to avoid the drop back to Blue Square Premier.
LuaLua and Bentham were both found by my scout, so I signed them. Brought in many players on trial and signed some of them. If they don't make my first-team, then I can sell them for profit.
There's a clause in Scott Rhodes transfer that will net us US$110k if he scores 40 league goals. He scored 15 this year so hope he scores at least 25 with Hayes & Yeading next year
Michael Connor was an integral part of the team but the offer from Darlington was too good to turn down, and we had replacements in case he left. Darlington is going to League 1 next year, so good luck to him.
James Dalton was a spare part in this year's Sell-the-Backup-Goalkeeper for profit.
We also sold Terry Dunfield for free + 50% sell-on clause.
Key Players
Jonathon Obika, Lewis Young, Kazenga LuaLua, Gary Elphick, Dan Bacon
Looking Ahead
AFC Wimbledon Career
- improve training and youth facilities
- Compete for a playoff spot
- make some depth signings
2008-2009: 2nd in BSS. Promoted.
2009-2010: 12th in BSP.
2010-2011: 5th in BSP. Promoted.
2011-2012: 17th in L2.
Our inability to keep a clean sheet has now seen us dumped out of the FA Cup and then get done over in the league by a mediocre Tamworth side. Looks like some defensive changes will need to be made pretty quickly.
Just recieved two defeats on the bounce. The first one was Burscough and we had someone sent off and just didn't look up for it. Second one was my fault, I went for the win and got caught on the counter. I won the first two games though.
Michael Taylor to Havant & W on a free.
Have offers from Stockport for Barlow and Cameron. Both were accepted.
through in the league cup 1st round just beat cardiff. Unfortunately only got a championship side not the premiership one i was looking for
A third defeat although this time they were the favourites![]()
Barlow signed. Cameron didn't
.
It seems that I'm just going to have to be content with scoring more than the opposition - it seems increasingly less likely that we'll keep another clean sheet at all this season, we just like to give away goals.
Cameron is just really loyal to us apparently...Oh well.
Then just trial whatever you can find I guess...
Should i do a mid-season update or leave it for end of season?
Completely up to you.
It really is up to you, there's no strict guidelines on how often you can update.
As a rule of thumb it should be once a season at the minimum but more frequent updates are welcome provided they don't clog up the thread and annoy people.
A mid season update followed by and end of season review would be a great way to go about it.
Yay, the board actually agrees with me (for once) that my 'fairly basic' training facilities and 'minimal' youth facilities needs to be improved
Also got over US$500k of gate receipt from the Carling Cup match against West Brom. We did lose however

Real London Update - Season 22 (2029/2030)
To Begin....
Stadium Expansion - An extra 9260 seats will be added on, taking my stadium up over the 40,000 mark.
Premiership Prediction - 8th
Premiership Position - 4th
F.A Cup - Quarter Final
League Cup - 2nd Round
Premiership - Graph | Table
Premiership : A brilliant season. Fell off towards the middle/end of the season, and was about 15 points behind first place before a fantastic final run in saw me win 7 of 8 games, and finish just behind the leaders. 4th place or better is what I aimed for, and its what I got. Next season the top 2 is my aim, although winning the title is a real possibility for us if we buy a few more key players and keep consistent throughout the season.
F.A Cup : Another great season in the F.A Cup, although I'm yet to see the Semi-Final. For the 3rd time in 4 years, Crystal Palace have been the team to knock me out of this cup, and its starting to become boring when I draw them.
League Cup : Season after season I get battered about in this competition. Aldershot of League 1 were the team fortunate enough to draw us this season. Every year the little teams must be preying for Real London to come out of the hat for them, as they know its an easy passage through.

Players of the Season
Raul Arguelles - Didn't play all that well at the end of the season, but definitely did at the start. Finished the season with 30 goals in 28 games.
Liam Lamb - Pretty much Arguelles' replacement when he hit his dip in form, and scored the goals the Arguelles couldn't. Fits into the team perfectly, and is still very young.
Omar Cisneros - Always here. Another fantastic season for Assists, and his all round play seems to be coming along brilliantly.
GTAIV - Scored an impressive amount of goals. Even hit a hat-trick on his debut for Spain. Now seemingly a regular in the national side, his club game has also risen to an international level.
Season Summary
Aside from the League Cup, this was a ground breaking season. Champions League football, a great squad assembled, financially set and only looking to better things. I've already got my eye on 4 or 5 players I hope to sign for next season, and have been dropping a lot of the dead weight in the team thats getting on a bit now. If I can put a decent cup run together, and who knows, maybe even win one, that would be brilliant for next season, but my main aim for the season is to finish 3rd or higher and get into the Champions League Group Stages.

*Real London were formally AFC Wimbledon
This is just a very quick update as I've goota get up for football in 5hrsMarine will be playing league two football next season
After that awful result I possted higher up the page, I went back and spent nearly 2hrs reworking my tactics and eneded the season 3rd.
I will give a full update sometime over the weekend as I've really got to get some sleep now. just wanted to tell someone that I was promoted! LOL
Congratz darren on promotion
AFC Wimbledon doing very well right now, currently 8th in League 2 after 10 games.
The whole seems wanted lol. Bought striker Jonny Dixon for US$75k, while selling Barlow (US$45k), Bacon (US$60k), Dale Bennett (US$20k), and Tyrone Cameron finally (US$35k).
Lewis Young has 6 goals in 12 games, Dawkins 5 in 7, and LuaLua 4 goals in 11 games.
Woo!! Two seasons, two promotions. Scraped through to league 2 on the last day of the season then won the semi and final by penalties in the playoffs.
Havent got anywhere near the amount of signings i wanted to but hopefully have enough to stay in the division. I think a few seasons building in this league is going to have to happen, cant rely on parent team, liverpool sending me players who are better than the rest of the division anymore.
Need some solid players at the back and i have no depth in full back positions, times like this i wish attribute masking was off but it des make the game more challenging than usual. As soon as i can scout europe i'll be happy...
Wayhay I said top 4 nep
rancer: that's an omen lad, I finished 17th in my first L2 season![]()
You did indeed say top 4. You were just 1 season too early(Finished 7th the season you said top 4
)
So happy I'll have a shot of CL glory
My save game couldnt be loaded and i was in the play offs in league 2. Thank God FM makes back ups though it just puts me right back to the start of the season
Defender Gary Elphick out 3-4 months. I was going to sell him to fierce rivals MK Dons lol.
Just can't score atm
I have Charlie Macdonald, Kevin Townson, Jake Speight and Greg Palmer and none of them can score. I might even have to go odwn to desperate measures and put Dino Maamria up top. Any ideas for tactics on getting your strikers a bit more clinical?
Just signed a new striker called Charles Ademeno set up two on his debut v Droylesden and scored two on his Cup debut against Kings Linn.
My talisman from Chippenham, Kirk Hudson, has got released aswell after an argument with the manager so I'm going to try to get him.
AFC Wimbledon have dropped down to 13th after 20 games
And roberto, why do you have an infraction?
I called someone a [Insert word starting p] which of course was much worse than the stuff that goes on in OTF![]()
