Mozambique are running away with it! Madagascar have been getting low votes, so other nations have caught up...hopefully we can stay near the top at the end of it.

    Good effort, SCIAG :)

Lester Meek: South Africa calling Somalia…

Hussain Bisad: Hello South Africa. Did you just gasp?

Lester Meek: Yes, I did. Sorry Mr Bisad. I knew you were the person with the second-largest handspan in the world, but I didn’t know just how big it was.

Hussain Bisad: It is very big.

Lester Meek: Yes. I can see. Do you have votes for us?

Hussain Bisad: Of course. Here are Somalia’s votes:

    7: Madagascar

    6: Zambia

    5: Malawi

    4: Mauritius

    3: Tanzania

    2: Uganda

    1: Seychelles

Hussain Bisad: And Somalia’s three biggest votes:

    8 points go to…Ethiopia!

    10 points go to……Kenya!

    12 points go to…

    …Djibouti!

Hussain Bisad: Thank you South Africa!

Lester Meek: Stop waving! I can’t see your face! Somalia’s votes carry great news for Whoopy Dee’e’s Djibouti. Kenya will also be pleased at the chance of getting ever closer to qualifying for the Final.

Lester Meek: Hello to you Comorians!
Michael Venter: Hello to you South Africans!
Lester Meek: What is the weather like?
Michael Venter: Tropically warm, but it’s getting very dark at the moment.
Lester Meek: Do you have votes for us?
Michael Venter: I sure do! Here are the Comoros’ votes:

    7: Madagascar
    6: Djibouti
    5: Rwanda
    4: Uganda
    3: Mauritius
    2: Eritrea
    1: Somalia

Michael Venter: And here are our three big votes:

    8 points go to…Mozambique!

    10 points go to……Tanzania!

    12 points go to…

    …Seychelles!

Michael Venter: Thank you South Africa!
Lester Meek: Super Lampard will be happy. And the other big votes go to the two at the top of the leaderboard. Let’s see how the table stands.

Lester Meek: Joaquim Ntadi’s Madagascar have caught up with Tanzania, with Mozambique still leading the way. Ryan Andrews’s Swaziland become the first nation to be eliminated; they can no longer reach the Semi-Final. Next we receive the votes from leaders Mozambique and from bottom-placed Swaziland.

Lester Meek: Lester Meek to Mozambique!

    Eusébio: Mozambique to Lester Meek!

Lester Meek: Who’s this? Just the one and only footballing legend Eusébio da Silva Ferreira!

Eusébio: Thank you Mr Meek, thank you South Africa.

Lester Meek: How is life treating you?

Eusébio: Very well! I believe you want some votes?

Lester Meek: Yes, please do share.

    Eusébio:

    7: Rwanda

    6: Uganda

    5: Madagascar

    4: Swaziland

    3: Burundi

    2: Kenya

    1: Comoros

Eusébio: And here are Mozambique’s top three votes:

    8 points go to…Zambia!

    10 points go to……Tanzania!

    12 points go to…

    …Malawi!

    Eusébio: Thank you South Africa!

Lester Meek: Thanks Mozambique. I’m not sure you’ll be too pleased that your generosity towards Thelonius Davis’s Tanzania has knocked you off the top spot.

Lester Meek: Swaziland, as you’re so close, I’m sure you’ll be able to hear us!
Ilana Lapidos: Loud and clear, South Africa!
Lester Meek: We are proud to be graced by the presence of Ilana Lapidos, Swaziland’s Miss World entrant who placed 15th in 1986.
Ilana Lapidos: Today is as much about celebrating Africa as my performance then was.
Lester Meek: Thank you Ms Lapidos. Would you be willing to take this Semi-Final ever-so-close to completion by giving us Swaziland’s votes?
Ilana Lapidos: I would love to, Lester.

    7: Uganda
    6: Rwanda
    5: Burundi
    4: Kenya
    3: Tanzania
    2: Mauritius
    1: Ethiopia

Ilana Lapidos: And here are Swaziland’s top three votes:

    8 points go to…Mozambique!

    10 points go to……Malawi!

    12 points go to…

    …Zambia!

Ilana Lapdios: Thank you South Africa! See you in the Final!
Lester Meek: Yes we will, where you’ll be voting but, as we already know, not participating. Christina Modoglou will be extremely grateful of her Zambia receiving maximum points as they are next to vote and it is still touch-and-go whether or not they will qualify. Let’s see how the table stands.

Lester Meek: So dafuge’s Mozambique have qualified for the Final, as have Thelonius Davis’s Tanzania despite their points deduction. For our final votes, we go to Zambia.

Lester Meek: Zambia, can you hear us?
Kalusha Bwalya: Yes we can, South Africa.
Lester Meek: Ah, Zambia’s most capped player, Kalusha Bwalya.
Kalusha Bwalya: Please, call me Kalusha.
Lester Meek: Kalusha, would you please do us the kind honour of finishing the first Semi-Final of the inaugural Afrovision Managerial Contest by telling us Zambia’s votes?
Kalusha Bwalya: It’s my pleasure. Here are the votes for Zambia:

    7: Rwanda
    6: Mozambique
    5: Kenya
    4: Madagacasar
    3: Eritrea
    2: Comoros
    1: Seychelles

Lester Meek: I can now tell you, Zambia, that unless you give 12 points to Malawi, you are definitely in the Semi-Final. Uganda and Rwanda are out, Madagascar and Kenya are in.

Kalusha Bwalya: Here are Zambia’s three major votes:

    8 points go to…

    …Mauritius!

    10 points go to……

    ……Malawi!

    12 points go to……

    ……Tanzania!

Kalusha Bwalya: Thank you South Africa!
Lester Meek: Thank you, Zambia, and congratulations on reaching the Final. Some more points for Thelonius Davis’s Tanzania there, but everyone is now focused on Zambia’s deadlock with Malawi. As I said, 12 points was needed, and 10 just doesn’t cut it. Malawi were their own undoing, as they received one 12 points, from Mozambique, but Zambia received two, from Swaziland and Malawi themselves. Let’s see how the nations all finished.

Lester Meek: Thelonius Davis’s Tanzania just pipped Mozambique to the post there, but dafuge’s team still qualify for the Final. Joaquim Ntadi’s Madagascar will be representing the island nations, and Alfred Jarry’s Kenya and Christina Modoglou’s Zambia have also earned the right to come back here in a few days time.

    ~

Lester Meek: Viewers via BATRACER, please tune in tomorrow for the second of our three live Semi-Finals. Until then, good night!

You'll probably miss the start of voting for your Semi-Final, but I'll keep it open at the other end for you.

Semi-Final 3: Central and Southern Africa

And now, finally, I’ll accept votes for the third Semi-Final. If you are one of the 17 nations below or you are Mk_Forest, you need to vote in this one via PM as per the voting form below. Once again, the top five qualify, and once again, if you vote incorrectly or do not vote at all you will be deducted 12 points. Please use the information I provide below, and or go through the previous updates if you wish, to allocate your votes, and include a spokesperson if you have a particular person in mind.

    Welcome back to South Africa…

Lester Meek: Good evening and welcome back to viewers watching via BATRACER! That is a good evening not only to our viewers in Africa, but those all around the world, including in France, the United Kingdom and Brazil!

Lester Meek: For those of you that didn’t see last night’s Semi-Final, where Tanzania, Mozambique, Madagascar, Kenya and Zambia qualified for the Final, I am your host Lester Meek, and this is South Africa! I have to thank the Broadcasters, African Television, Radio and Complete Entertainment Revolution for broadcasting the tournament.

Lester Meek: The countries in this Semi-Final have all given each other points based on their national team’s performances over the past twelve months. They gave small amounts of points, from one point up to seven, as well as the big ones: 8, 10 and 12 points. The five nations that accumulate the most points will qualify for the final, alongside the five who qualified yesterday, and South Africa and Senegal.

Lester Meek: Unfortunately, some further points deductions are going to need to take place. Guinea, Guinea-Bissau and Libya all opted not to vote, which isn’t actually an option at all. As a result, they have all been deducted 12 points. And Algeria initially allocated points to Niger, who will feature in tomorrow’s Semi-Final, so they have also had 12 points taken off them. Tanzania were deducted points yesterday, and still qualifed in first place, so it’s not all bad news. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the initial table of nations.

Lester Meek: We’ll start off by heading to Ghana and Mauritania, who will open the voting!

Sao Tome and Principe: no games played, no results. We are the little country who play no games and never get no recognition. A vote for us is a vote for the underdog.

We deserve it more than those who have played. Vote for us if you can't decide who else to vote for.

Particularly if you are our neighbours. We love you all you see? ;)

EDIT: Just noticed that ST&P 'Independence Day' is the same as my birthday! We were meant to be kept in this competition obviously!

    Here is yesterday's update.

Lester Meek: Ghana, can you hear us?
Ghana: Loud and clear, South Africa!
Lester Meek: Excellent! Would you like to do the honour of getting the second Afrovision Managerial Contest Semi-Final rolling?
Ghana: I would love to, Lester. Here are the votes from Ghana:

    7: Egypt
    6: Cape Verde
    5: Tunisia
    4: Sudan
    3: Gambia
    2: Burkina Faso
    1: Guinea-Bissau

Ghana: And here are Ghana’s three major votes:

    8 points go to…Ivory Coast!

    10 points go to……Guinea!

    12 points go to…

    …Mali!

    Ghana: Thank you South Africa!
Lester Meek: Cheers, Ghana! So, Mikael Schøler’s Mali get maximum points there for the perfect start.

Lester Meek: Hello, Mauritania. This is South Africa calling!

    Mauritania: Good evening, South Africa!

Lester Meek: Okay, Mauritania, we are ready for your votes.

    Mauritania:

    7: Guinea-Bissau

    6: Morocco

    5: Sudan

    4: Sierra Leone

    3: Guinea

    2: Egypt

    1: Gambia

Mauritania: Here are Mauritania’s top three votes:

    8 points go to…Ivory Coast!

    10 points go to……Mali!

    12 points go to…

    …Cape Verde!

Mauritania: See you soon, South Africa!

Lester Meek: Karl Unpingco’s Cape Verde take maximum points there, but it’s some more points for both Mali and Albert Holstein’s Ivory Coast. Let’s take a look at the first of the table updates tonight.

Lester Meek: Obviously Mali lead the way, but there have been some very strong starts all round, with a lot of nations picking up points. Next we go to Algeria and the Ivory Coast for votes.

Lester Meek: Algeria, can you hear us?

    Algeria: Yes.

Lester Meek: I’m sorry about your 12 point deduction.

    Algeria: Here are our votes:

    7: Mauritania

    6: Libya

    5: Mali

    4: Tunisia

    3: Ivory Coast

    2: Sierra Leone

    1: Guinea

    Algeria:

    8 points go to Egypt.

    10 points go to…Cape Verde.

    12 points go to……Sudan!

    Algeria: Goodbye.

Lester Meek: Well, aren’t Algeria cheerful? Jeremy English’s Sudan get a welcome 12 points there, while Cape Verde are still scoring well.

Lester Meek: South Africa calling the Ivory Coast!
Laurent Gbagbo: Nous préférerions la Côte d’Ivoire.
Lester Meek: Eek, il parle français, mais je ne l’ai pas parlé depuis l’école! Bonjour, le Président de la République de Côte d’Ivoire.
    Laurent Gbagbo: Bonjour, je vous donnerai nos votes;

    7: L’Algérie
    6: Le Liberia
    5: Le Ghana
    4: Le Burkina
    3: La Mauritanie
    2: Le Maroc
    1: La Guinée-Bissau

Lester Meek: Mali still lead the way, and Cape Verde are also going strong too. Everybody has points now, which is good. Next we travel to Cape Verde and to Egypt for their votes.

An exciting day for Liberia indeed, 6 points puts us equal with the big guns Burkina Faso and Sierra Leone

Lester Meek: Cape Verde, is our signal reaching your island nation?
    Cape Verde: Absolutely, South Africa!
Lester Meek: Perfect. How are things?
Cape Verde: The sun is setting on another beautiful day in Cape Verde.
Lester Meek: How are you feeling about your nation’s performance so far?
Cape Verde: Very confident. Second place is a nice place to be.
Lester Meek: Okay, Cape Verde, without further ado. Can you give us your votes?
    Cape Verde:

    7: Guinea-Bissau
    6: Liberia
    5: Morocco
    4: Tunisia
    3: Burkina Faso
    2: Sierra Leone
    1: Sudan

Cape Verde: And our three big votes:

    8 points go to…Egypt!

    10 points go to……Mauritania!

    12 points go to…

    …Gambia!

Cape Verde: See you soon, South Africa. Hopefully when we are in the Final!
Lester Meek: Thanks Cape Verde. A pleasant outcome for Kleen Shavern, as well as Tomaldinho whose Liberia team have picked up another six points.

Lester Meek: South Africa calling Egypt!

    Mido: Hi South Africa!

Lester Meek: Mido, why aren’t you here for the ceremony? You’re not still suspended are you?

Mido: No, I just missed our flight.

Lester Meek: Oh. So is this your punishment?

Mido: No, I’ve always wanted to say ’12 points go to…’. Here are our votes:

    7: Sierra Leone

    6: Algeria

    5: Libya

    4: Cape Verde

    3: Ivory Coast

    2: Gambia

    1: Liberia

Mido: And Egypt’s three biggest votes:

    8 points go to…Mali!

    10 points go to……Morocco!

    12 points go to…

    …Sudan!

    Mido: See? I feel great!

Lester Meek: Thank you Egypt. Jeremy English’s Sudan pick up another batch of 12 points. Didier Dardon’s Morocco collect 15 points from these two sets of votes, while Algeria clear their debt. Let’s see how the tables look.

Lester Meek: Mali of course lead the way, by some distance. Sudan have also sneaked up into contention, and Adam Wilkinson’s Guinea would be up there had they just voted. It’s over to Burkina Faso and Sierra Leone next!
