How do I set player runs?? I can see 3 arrows pointing up..that's it..

I tried holding down ctrl and dragging player but it just changes the position of the player...

help

Arrows are showing if you have players on forward runs often.

So if you change a player to take forward runs often, you'll see a forward arrow on him.

I believe you have the option on player individual instructions on the tactics screen. These days there's so many little factors that although realistic can be easily forgotten

hmmm...i dont think u guys understood wat i meant...in fm08 or 09..u could set the players run with an arrow that goes front, backwards, sideways etc.

You can't. They've taken that out.

So the only arrows are forward runs, when players are set to do forward runs often.

Now you can only set arrows up and down. Up means that your player will make a lot of forward runs, while bakward arrows means that your player will make very few forward runs. If he have no arrows he will try to make forward runs sometimes.

This years, and 09s, arrows are not the same as they were in FM08.

Yeah, they removed arrows because they made changes to the match engine that meant arrows stopped working properly. Rather than fixing the problem, they removed the ability to use arrows.

You can set "cut inside", "move into channels" and "hug touchline" though.

Can't do it anymore. Player instructions allow for some similar things like hug touchline, move into channels etc. But it's not really the same as what your after. IIRC it was removed to stop people exploiting the engine and not being realistic.
