[FM10] Regen which could be my son??

Really enjoyed reading this thread. Been great following his career.

For people who have a son in the game (not in IRL obviously ), I'm interested about nationality. Say me I am English of Irish descent so have put my first nationality as English and second nationality as Irish. If I am managing a team in England and my son comes through the ranks, would he have second nationality as Irish also? Because I would love it if my son ended up playing for Ireland, probably more so than England.

Also if I do get a son in my game it'd be great if he was called Fredo. Therefore if he ever committed the cardinal sin of wanting to move to Liverpool, I could do this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DtbW_wUe8k

I had a son last night, and like you, my second nationality is Irish. It only has English for him though, would have liked the lad to play for the Emerald Isle but oh well

Happened to me in Newcastle. After few seasons it appeared that I have son, Jaroslaw who has been promoted to youth squad. It also says something about me since I became a father being 15 years old, hehehe.

Getting a son in FM2010 is pure luck which makes it very rare.

I ask because I joined Real Madrid in mid-june and am trying reloading the game constantly, waiting for a son, but I'll have wasted about a day if it can't happen.

Just carry on the game normally, but keep on checking your youth and reserves team so if you do get a son you can put him up to the first team right away.

You could use the editor to put a youth player with your surname and with you in their favoured personnel but actually getting a son in the game is a better feeling.

It's easier to know who is your son if you don't have a common surname, so if your surname is Smith and your managing Birmingham and someone comes through the academy with your surname and with you in favoured personnel it's unlikely he's your son.

Only Sheff United have been interested in him, I had to give him a contract quickly as i could not afford to lose him.

From my calculations he is equally good at coaching Ball Control, Shooting & Set Pieces.

I wouldn't use him anywhere else.

Shame there isn't more to the whole father-son thing, aside from start at own club/has surname/has you as favoured personnel. There isn't any extra dimension to the standard player-manager (or now manager-manager) interaction.
