Mine was a university nickname, which seems to be pretty unique. Well, apart from that other user called Dafuge . but I'm not sure if that really counts.

I remember Diego Klimowicz well. Had a good file with him at Wolfsburg not too long ago.
When I signed up I thought the 'login name' would be the login name which doubles as our forum name, like most message boards. Then I of course thought that the 'display name' would be our real name displayed in our profiles or something. So, I went ahead and picked a nickname and filled out the rest of the registration.
...only to post my first message and realize the 'display name' is actually the board user name. So I tried to re-register to correct this horrible mistake, but I only got one post under the new name before it was deactivated by SI.
As a tribute to the second greatest hero the world has ever seen, Manfred von Richtofen. Although how it ended up in it's current state is more complex.
Kain Kahn was a name I came up with when I was 15/16 and first got the internet. I can't quite remember exactly why, but its possible Kahn is either influenced by the German goalkeeper or a misspelling of Genghis Khan. Kain, I'm assuming, is from the Bible, but deliberately misspelt.

Wow you are old, i didnt even reliase the net had been around for that long.
Mine is from my all time favourite game from the Amiga developed by Bullfrog. Many games have come and gone but Powermonger still holds a special place in gaming history for me.

My name is easy to work out champ (because when i signed up to these forums it was CM we were all lovin before the change to FM) and Lodge simply because my name is Adam Lodge.
So its not me saying i am the champion of the world! lol.
My first name is Gergely, but I'm always called Gergő. My surname begins with an "M", so phonetically it's "em". We write our surnames first in Hungary.
So "em" (from M...) + "gergo" (from Gergő)= emgergo, and I'm using this nick now for about 8 years in differnet fora.

My second name is STARRett, I tried all sorts of variations of my first name with no luck.
After getting annoyed by "This user name is already in use" (Or whatever it says) I just wrote Starr_Man5, worked first time, much to my annoyance.
mine is inspired by a japanese show called Super Sentai, where the characters have superhero designations which are a combination of the team name (e.g. 'Boukenger') and colour (so you have BoukenRed, BoukenBlack and so on). The Delta part is made up by me (as part of the name of a superhero team of me and my friends in stories I used to write) and Blue is not only my favourite colour but also the colour of my favourite team, Ipswich. which is a very long way of saying 'my fictional superhero designation'.
Mine is because of a play I was in 3/4 years ago. I was Disco Stu from The Simpsons (weird I know). Ever since my friends have called me that for some reason. 94 is because it is the year I was born.
Still laughing at the ‘2’ Dafuge’s thing. \'You know the simpsons episode when homer gets really fat and he has that thing that looks like a bird that goes up and down, i let it pick lucky 7 letters and thats what it came up with, magic\' PMSL!!

Named after the legendary Canvey Island, who I managed in FM06 (after getting sacked from Aris), but said in an Essex accent, which a Canvey Island supporter would probably have.
Mine is named after the former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistlerooy. And 774 because I tried all of the numbers up to and including 773 to no avail

I chose mine for two reasons. Firstly for the last 30 years I have been a serious Star Trek fan and secondly because they probably wouldn't have allowed my original choice Jock Strap . I know that they wouldnt appreciate my odd sense of humour.
My name is from when i created my first e-mail account. The computer coughed up my first name together with the 2 first letters of my second name and surname. That was about 10 yrs ago, and it seems like it's unique. Haven't encountered another user anywhere with that name yet

Ehvan is the name of a character I played/play in some online RPGs, have had the name since about 1999? Wanted something fantasy sounding, was 15...it worked. HSV because they're the family team.
Back on the first Pro Evo when they had the "Classic" teams for Italy, Brazil, etc but couldn't use real names for the players Marco van Basten was called von Tasben. Remove the space and capitalisation and there you have it.
Because my name is Craig Hopper. Put the first letter of my first name together with my last name and you get the nickname I got throughout school and now have when playing 5-a-side.
The 99 is because I first used this as a name on the internet in 1999.
I used to play a lot of Call of Duty onlione and needed a nick for that. I'd just been reading Slaughterhouse 5, and so chose "Pilgrim" as I wasn't very good at Call of Duty and rarely really knew what was happening on the servers...
When I came to reg here I used Pilgrim for that reason. Then I forgot my login details and ended up changing my email so I had to create a new account, and so I needed to add the "UK" bit.
I am not, have never been, and do not intend to become, a Plymouth fan.
In honour of managing the team with the greatest name. And proud of taking a Finnish club from relegation to Champions league group stages. All hail Matti Lahitie.
My original name on these forums was Jimbokav71 back in 2003/04(ish), as it was the start of the email address I had. Then I changed ISP's and email addresses and was to stupid to work out how to get SI to send me my sign in info so I re-registered with my new email address Jimbokav1971, (which is a mix of my forename and surname and my year of birth).
xouman comes from showman. A ski teacher called me so watching me skiing, I did in a particular way (I was learning ). Quickly everybody called me showman because that teacher was quite popular. But showman is too common so I changed it to xouman.
At the time when I registered here I was a total newbie to internett community and had a friend helping me out. Because of me needing help he tought I was a vegetable and called me Veg instead of Leo. And after several request the mods haven't changed my username

Anyone who knows Tolkein's "The Hobbit" well will know where my username comes from, anyone who doesn't won't care. As far as I recall it is never mentioned in Lord of the Rings, but probably gets a mention in some of those books on the history of Middle Earth that I've never bothered reading.
I guess I ought to re-read The Hobbit since I haven't done for many years so can only just remember that Glamdring, Gandalf's sword, was picked up from the troll's lair.
