    Default 12 Days of Xmas!

    Merry Xmas everyone!

It’s that time of year again; bells are ringing, snow is falling and everyone is trying to be just that little be good-er to try and persuade Santa to forget all those naughty things you’ve done throughout the year!

Well the celebrations continue in FML!

We plan to run a series of competitions and community activities across all gameworlds starting from Sunday 13th December to Thursday 24th December with both in game and real world prizes up for grabs!

Exact details will range from gameworld to gameworld, but will include events such as Xmass Quizzes, Treasure Hunts, Picture Quizzes, Guess The Scores, Prize Money Quick Play Comps, Anagrams and Don’t Forget the Lyrics all with large in game prize funds!
Running alongside all of these will be two cup competitions (for teams of 3.5* reputation and above and teams of 3* reputation and below) lasting the full 12 days with a grand prize of a free 3 month subscription to FML at the end!!

Hopefully this will provide some Xmas cheer in your gameworld and help while away those cold December days and nights.

    Hey Bertie

I thought "Christmas" was a rather bad word to use within a game that got people from all over the globe and different religions? Im pretty sure I often see "Xmas" & "Holidays" instead of "Christmas" in areas where there are a lot of people from different kind of cultures and religions, online - and in real life!

    Just a thought!

Please... It's Christmas. It shouldn't offend anyone that the majority of FML users will be celebrating it. It's nothing to be ashamed of.

I'm not even remotely religious and I still like to celebrate Christmas. Let's not spoil it on the off chance that someone will be offended.

Fair enough. I always thought these sort of things a bit far fetched, but you can never be too careful

You'll find far more people offended by the term "Xmas" than you will by the word "Christmas"

Christmas is a religous event and celebration - Xmas is a capitalistic celebration of advertisers and marketing

12 Days Of Holidays? Nah.. Its Christmas... I'm not remotely religous but celebrate xmas cos its about a fat jolly guy in a suit... Just like Easter is about Rabbits laying chocolate eggs...

Nice idea... and will be fun seeing how competitive people get over 3 months free sub (despite everyone hating the game )

I never understood why people say 'they' will be offended my the term Christmas. have you asked non-christens if they will be offended?

Ofcourse you have not- but you assum that 'they' will- WHAT A LOAD OF BS!

I have never know any Muslims or Jews be offended my people talking about christmas.
Its this type of RUBBISH which causes so much divid between people- when some non- muslim says Muslims will be offended by the term christmas!!

Ask them! dont put PC BS that you assume to be correct and cause this divid and hate between people which in most cases does not exist!

Seriously, its now changed to "Xmas" due to this crap??

I guess we should change Independence Day to X Day as well to be PC to those we won our independence from. Or take the Veteran's part out of Veteran's Day as they may have killed other soldiers while on duty.

Christmas is about Jesus Christ, that is the root of it. You don't have to believe in Christianity to know that and I can't understand why you would be any more offended of Christmas than a Christian would be of Ramadan, Hanukkah, etc.

They are holidays and celebrations, just like Independence Day, etc. You can choose to celebrate them or even rename them, but they will still remain what they are, days commemorating a certain person(s) or event.

Merry Christmas!, Happy Hanukkah!, and a Festivus for the rest of us!

I think it's a good thing to take the religion out of pretty much anything.

Religion has pretty much been removed from Christmas already, tbf.

Not like it's "12 days of Jesus Christ our saviour".

Can't really celebrate a religious holiday without religion. You can celebrate it in your own way, even change it to fit your beliefs or lack there of, but you will still be celebrating a religious holiday, even if you are not trying to.

As I said before, I could celebrate Chinese New Year by wearing green and turning the rivers and streams green, drinking green beer. Still doesn't make it St. Patty's Day.

I agree that religion often invades parts of life that are not appropriate and most would argue it should not. Funny, in this case I would argue that society seems to think it can invade a religious event and turn it into something different. In the end by celebrating the holiday you are acknowledging the religious event and celebrating its significance. Your changing of the day's significance is only a perversion of the truth of the day's true meaning. By no means should you be forced to celebrate something you do not believe in, but you should acknowledge that in celebrating Christmas you are in fact celebrating a religious holiday no matter whether you celebrate with Santa, Rudolf, some Elves, or Jesus, Joseph, and Mary.

I thought it's history was from a pagan festival. Anyway no matter it's a nice time of year if it was inspired by Santa, the Elves or a religion.

Christmas Day is a Feast and Celebration of the Winter Solstice. There's a 365/1 chance that Jesus was born on Christmas Day. And the vast majority of people celebrating Christmas Day wont go near a church that day. It has nothing to with Christianity anymore. The Christian church has lost control of the festival and its meaning has gradually changed, just like it did in the 4th century.

Well done to my son's team Leuchars United in Pearce, he won the 3.5 star comp and although it means nothing to him it means a saving in my wallet

I take it he will get the 3 months added after the re-Set??

I won two low rep Christmas cups with prize money for 75k and got the semi final of another, which meant another small payment, but only ever got paid for one of them in Whiteside.

I've repeatedly asked the mods in the help room and lobby but they just ignore me. A nice chat helper tried to help but in he end said the mods told him I was not going to be paid and it was basically tough luck.

I'm a small 2* team and that money would make a big difference

Pretty sure it said in the mails announcing them that teams would only get paid for 1 prize if they won multiple prizes
